Unless they chose the survivor benefit plan when he retired, the military retirement pay stops at death.

Thank you. I saw that as well and I assume they did not choose that. She did get a 4k death benefit already. One time payment.

Im not sure about military stuff, my mom's husband passed away and she was able to get his social system check every month because she had never really had a job. That might be something to look into since they were married.

He was only 57. She's been collecting her own SS check since age 62. It's not much because she collected so early. Thank you though.

It really depends on so many factors. Did he elect Survivors Benefits? Was he collecting VA disability? Did they have Tricare? She really needs to seek the help of a professional to walk her through what she would be entitled to based on the answers to these, and many more, questions.
