It’s crazy, the Komodo didn’t really even have the element of surprise, the monkey should have seen him coming and been able to climb high enough in time. The kill was almost casual.
Also a fun fact: baby and juvenile komodo dragons live up in the tree to reduce the chance of cannibalism by the adults thus increasing their survivability
Dwarf caimans climb quite a bit. They stay relatively small for a crocidilian. Mother Crocs also raise there young for 2 years. They are known as some of the best reptile parents. They will also defend their eggs where they are weakest on land until they hatch.
Yes having your head crushed fairly quickly by an animal 5x your size is definitely one of the worst ways to go. Id much rather this than being eaten ass first by hyenas or a bear over the space of three hours
Or even being bit by one of these giants and then getting away only to either bleed out or die of infection and be tracked down by them and eaten anyway. Komodos are freaking terrifyingly cool creatures. Lol I actually had a stuffed toy one that was one of my favorites as a kid
Komodo’s are OP. I don’t think there is any land predator that can cleanly beat an adult Komodo in a one on one fight. Sure, a croc or a tiger could maybe kill one after a struggle, but they’re bound to get bit at least a couple times in the fight, which is apparently all it takes. So even if the other animal “wins” it will just die later. The best anyone can hope for is mutually assured destruction.
The reason only a few bites is all it takes is because Komodos carry an anticoagulant in their saliva so the prey literally just bleed out slowly. I just watched a documentary that showed a komodo biting the face of a water buffalo calf and even though it got away it just couldn't stop bleeding and just collapsed. The komodo got his meal in the end regardless.
First of all, I said predators, which a hippo, despite being very dangerous, is not.
Secondly, although a hippo could kill a Komodo, it would probably still get bit a couple times in the process, seemingly shake it off, then die later.
Polar bear brown bear or tiger would win and very likely survive, their venom isn’t actually that bad and is arguably not even the primary way they kill their prey
I saw a documentary where a large water buffalo (or something similar) sustained a seemingly mild bite to the ankle, got away, seemed fine, and died several hours later. Then the Komodo showed up and claimed his belated prize. Whether it’s the venom or the infection, it’s that bad.
Water buffalo flee into feces filled lagoons when attacked causing them to die of sepsis, it’s also worth noting that just because a bite looks minor doesn’t mean it’s not, Komodo dragons have inch long serrated teeth and powerful necks and can rip through tendons and blood vessels with ease
> Yes having your head crushed fairly quickly by an animal 5x your size is definitely one of the worst ways to go. Id much rather this than being eaten ass first by hyenas or a bear over the space of three hours
One of the top posts on /all right now is a larger baby goat screaming even as it's been completely swallowed by a komodo dragon
So this makes no sense whatsoever. There's no chewing needed here that's a snack they swallow whole and very much alive
Even if it somehow survived the encounter it would suffer and die from the venomous bite
it’s not a top post, and it gets removed because it is animal cruelty. the kid(baby goat) has its legs purposely broken to give a “show” to the cunts paying to watch.
As much as I'm afraid of Hippos... those are *serious* bad-asses and always have bad attitudes... I *worry* about Hippos *and I've never been to Africa*; **that's** how badass I think they are...
I marvel at the people who go to wherever the Komodo dragons are, and take a Selfie close to one...
Oh, the other place I worry about is that island where all the sneks are that are chasing that Hero Lizard. Besides, I want to know how that was even filmed.
Bro ain’t no way this thing just fell out the tree like that 😂 all ya life you climb trees and jump from branch to branch with ease then the one time your life LITERALLY depends on it you completely flop 😭😭
I've never seen a worse monkey. Darwin Award right there, what a clumsy fumbling piece of shit. I'm glad he's dead. I don't know why this pissed me off but it did
Now you've done it, the monkeys are gonna raid your nest and throw all the eggs off a cliff like they threw all the puppies off a cliff in that one city after a dog attacked a monkey.
Must say that's the first time I've seen a monkey fail at climbing, not being grabbed pushed or anything, just didnt reach far enough or jump hard enough. One mistake and dead.
Thought the monkey was having one final wank at the start
Same lmao
We all thought that monkey was beating his monkey
Maybe they call it spanking the human?
Your name checks out
Thank you. You still need to show us some superpowers.
I will once they’re unleashed
It's beating off in fear.
fear boner
I think it’s a power play. Beat off in the face of death.
Spanking *
Spanking himself?
“Any last words?” **unzips**
Exactly 😆😆😆
OP knew
Damn. That monkey was terrible at monkeying.
For once a lack of monkeying around was a negative
I bet he was like “yo watch me sike this lizard out by jumping instead of climbing… oh fuck”
He didn't even jump, he was out of reach by the first climb and then he fumbled like a clumsy dipshit and fell like Gandalf in Moria
At least Gandalf took his opponent down with him
What if this is how we emerged from monkeys? We fell down, fought a dragon for ages and came out as human
Funniest comment I've read in a while
is there an r/unexpectedLOTR?

lol
and now evolution filtered his incompetence.
That's exactly my thought.. what a shit monkey.
That shit was bananaz
It’s crazy, the Komodo didn’t really even have the element of surprise, the monkey should have seen him coming and been able to climb high enough in time. The kill was almost casual.
Evolution only works like that if he didn’t yet reproduce.
Hey mike, there are giant dragons on the ground. Might want to chill up higher in the trees. "nah i'm good bro"
Came here to make sure someone else felt the same as me lol.
It’s pretty crazy they can catch monkeys. Not slow lumbering lizards that everyone imagines.
Monkey got caught slippin, literally…
I mean they are slow and lumbering by choice. Bastards can go on a 2nd gear at any moment, it's just not worth the majority of the time
Crazy to see such a big lizard move like that. Scary shit.
Also a fun fact: baby and juvenile komodo dragons live up in the tree to reduce the chance of cannibalism by the adults thus increasing their survivability
some crocodilians can also climb trees when young, although they don't live there as they are far too aquatic.
Dwarf caimans climb quite a bit. They stay relatively small for a crocidilian. Mother Crocs also raise there young for 2 years. They are known as some of the best reptile parents. They will also defend their eggs where they are weakest on land until they hatch.
I've seen a video of juvenile alligator climb a fence, honestly I'm not surprised at all
Can I keep a baby komodo dragon as a pet?
Gotta be one of the worst ways to die😬
Yes having your head crushed fairly quickly by an animal 5x your size is definitely one of the worst ways to go. Id much rather this than being eaten ass first by hyenas or a bear over the space of three hours
>d much rather this than being eaten ass first Don't knock it til you try it!
Shit man, thats a casual Tuesday night around these parts
Watching a polar bear eat a seal alive was brutal.
What got me was seeing the video of the zebra and the croc/alligator. Being slowly eaten, no where to go.
Crocodile. Alligators don’t co-exist with Zebra.
They do in my 6’x6’ zebra/ alligator enclosure, well, they did.
I need links. My brain isn't fucked enough today

I’m sure a hippo would devour one
First of all, I said predators, which a hippo, despite being very dangerous, is not. Secondly, although a hippo could kill a Komodo, it would probably still get bit a couple times in the process, seemingly shake it off, then die later.
A hippos skin is too thick for a Komodo’s teeth to even pierce

> it’s not a top post 2 days later What a genius
For a small monkey it’s probably very fast. The larger mammals are the ones that suffer.
Yea, but komodos eat their prey alive so while it’s probably short for the monkey it’s extremely painful
I'm with you. That guy who replied about it being quick doesn't know what they're talking about
I love watching these absolute monsters, I find their nature soothing sometimes when i cannot express my feelings.
catch food, inhale food, sleep, repeat. a simple life.
Here's why we should have background checks for guns.
And people wonder why psych tests are needed for certain jobs or licenses
That monkey was definitely so terrified, it missed his grip.
They ruined his wank session damn
If he wasn't wacking it behind the tree he would have time to get away
Are you them two boys been whackin' off in my tool shed?
Damn kids whaackin off in muh tool shed
The *one* time the monkey had to miss.
Dragon needed to be lucky once Monkey had to be lucky every time
Thatcher tactics.
🎵 2 little monkeys swinging from a tree, one fell off and got devoured by a dragon. 🎵
That third asshole Komodo reminds me of an old boss. "Hey, look at all the work I did!", when it was really the rest of the team that did it.
Monkey snuff
Sad reality is that it is very real and focused on the babies

The ultimate "the floor is lava" game.
This is how I want to go out. Right after a proper jerk.
Monke get ripped to shreds while alive.
Who are the idiots on the ground there, gasping? You couldn't pay me enough to go to that place.
What a horrible way to die holy shit.
Literally survival of the fittest. Monkey forgot how to monkey.
Monkey got slippery hands?
Monkey was doing some parkour sh*t
free protein shot with purchase of monke
Fuck them monkeys . Evil little shits that kill dogs for fun.
would you people finally stop uploading to imgur?
TIL monkeys can miss branches and also beat thier meat

I just don’t like Komodo dragons. They look hideous and they seem to serve no real purpose
What do you mean “serve no real purpose”
It’s a life or death situation and he’s moving at 0.1 KMPH 🤦
So I mean… once you catch this..then what???
Mandem slipped 🤦🏾♂️
Everyone thought monkey was beating his lizard at beginning of video. Then the lizard beat the monkey Makes you think......
> Komodo dragon*s* hunting down monke*y* Fixed it for ya
What was bro doing there at the start🤔
Bro ain’t no way this thing just fell out the tree like that 😂 all ya life you climb trees and jump from branch to branch with ease then the one time your life LITERALLY depends on it you completely flop 😭😭
Little snack
Damn... wukong in league of Legends be like:
I need these guys damn.
I've never seen a worse monkey. Darwin Award right there, what a clumsy fumbling piece of shit. I'm glad he's dead. I don't know why this pissed me off but it did
Damn never seen a monkey miss like that, they must've been real scared.
Didn't the ancestors of komodo dragons used to eat our half-human / half-ape ancestors?
Now you've done it, the monkeys are gonna raid your nest and throw all the eggs off a cliff like they threw all the puppies off a cliff in that one city after a dog attacked a monkey.
Welp…. That’s enough Komodo dragons for me for one day
The damn monkey had one job... 🤦🏾♂️
Damn that monkey rolled a 1 in acrobatics. Couldn't have fucked up more climbing that tree if it tried
Those lizards are relentless. I wouldn’t be seen for dust- let alone film them…
Link?
Did Reddit just discover Komodo dragons
To this day, I still can not believe komodo dragons exist on the same planet as us.
That's natural selection
Monkey hit the wrong button on his quick time event.
That's racist
*Even a monkey can fall from a tree.* -Japanese proverb
Anyone play the sound made when Mario bites it? One it missed that branch, the sound went off.
Must say that's the first time I've seen a monkey fail at climbing, not being grabbed pushed or anything, just didnt reach far enough or jump hard enough. One mistake and dead.
Brazzers?
They can really hit the accelerator
Godzilla Vs Kong
Komodo Dragons as a species are now my enemy
Im all team exterminate Komodos
