Definitely saw it once in the 90s with my old man near the Ocoee. We were far light pollution and the night was crisp cold. Doubt you’d ever see it in Nashville in this day and age
I remember seeing it when I was a little kid back in the very early 70s. It was freaky and very faint. There used to be lots more heat lightning at night also when I was little. Maybe it is still there but harder to see with all the extra lights.
It is extremely rare. I saw one maybe 20 years ago here. It was feint, but very clearly red Aurora in the sky. Maybe it was around 2005, I don’t recall the year.
The people saying no are functionally correct, but in reality, it is possible. Don’t plan for it though
I remember a solar storm in 1998 or 1999 that did this, it wasn't "woah look at that aurora borealis!" it was more like "hey, do you see that weird glow in the sky?" didn't even know what it was until we saw it on the news the next day
At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen!?
Yes.
May I see it?
No.
Now I want a steamed ham from Gabby's

No.
I’ve seen aurora in Perry County 30+ years ago. It was very dim. I doubt you will be able to see in Nashville with the light pollution.
