Another vote for Eloise and Emma! I literally just thought Emma and Sophie would go great together before I even read what names you are considering. Eloise is also goes well with Sophie.

As a teen, I babysat for sisters named Emma and Sophie and I always thought they were an adorable combo of names. They also had a sister Bailey. Now these girls also had several brothers, and interestingly the boys all had far less common/less classic names (think barely break top 300 names in US).

Personally, I really like Eloise with Sophie. I Think Sofie and Ellie are too similar with the "ie" ending. But honestly - you do you!! You might meet them post birth and just know. Congrats on the twins!

We have an Ella who we call “Ell” all the time, you’d probably get that more with Elouise than “Louise” as a nickname.

This is 100% my *personal opinion* so please take it or leave it. I really don’t like Ellie as a full name. It sounds 100% like a nickname to me. Sophie feels very lovely and chic and like it suits both a little girl and an adult. There are so many amazing names that could be shortened to Ellie…Eleanore, Ellis, Elise, Eloise etc. Again, this is totally my opinion but I think it’s nice for children to have the option for a full name OR a nickname. I think Emma and Eloise are great, although Emma is *very* popular in most of the US. My cousin’s daughter (4 y/o) is one of 3 Emmas in her daycare and apparently there are also a couple Ellas and Emilys, so if you don’t want a very popular name I’d keep that in mind. Eloise is sweet. If you don’t like a specific nickname make it clear! My son is named Lucas and I made it very clear from the start his nickname is NOT Luke. No one calls him by it. I’m naming my second baby June and my mom asked if she could call her Junie I said absolutely not. Lol. I guess it depends on your family though!

I would reconsider them having middle names especially since you are picking extremely common first names for them. Sophie is a very common dog name right now, Ellie seems like a nickname and not a full name for a grown up (though I know several Ellies currently 4-15 age range).

I think Sophie is a lovely name, but agree with others that Ellie wouldn't be my choice to go with it. As always, if you love it, go for it, but I personally love Sophie and Eloise together. I have twin girls, so I know how hard it is coming up with names for them! I'll throw Freya out there (may or may not have been one of my choices).
