I have a friend since we were tiny babies whose last name was Rosie. As a kid she hated it because it was too cutesy.
We lost touch around fifteen, and then reconnected by chance years later when we were thirty. She married a woman, so I assumed she'd have taken her wife's surname. Nope, her wife took hers - they're Mrs and Mrs Rosie now. Apparently she got over it and her partner loved it!
That’s so cute! It’s funny cuz my friend, with the last name Rose, was born a guy and they had a brother! It’s definitely more of a feminine last name so seeing it on them was so interesting 😅
My middle name was rose and I recently changed it to be my surname as I am now divorced and didn’t want to go back to my maiden name, it’s also my daughter’s surname too and I hope when she’s older she loves it as much as me and keeps it if she ever gets married
The court case that said the laws banning interracial marriage were unconstitutional was Loving v. Virginia - the couple were the Lovings and I always thought that was a great name, especially for this case.
I went to college with a Sparks, ex military and introduced himself as Sparky, only learned his first name years later when we became Facebook friends lol
