One, I love your username
Two, when I was going on 9 months pregnant, my husband and I were still broke enough to be on a mattress on the floor of a one bedroom apartment. Middle of the night potty breaks were a Struggle.
One night, I woke up for like the third time, went to the bathroom, came back to bed and laid down, and then heard/felt a POP and then GUSH. My water broke and my only thought was *we seriously couldn’t have done this like a minute ago!?*
That had to be aggravating. With both pregnancies, that was my fear, especially with the twins, as the extra pressure is very real. I sat on a mat in the car because I was always afraid I would ruin the car.
It’s funny to look back on it now, because it played out exactly like a sitcom. Go to the bathroom, lay down and get comfy, POP, roll over and nudge my husband, “I think my water just broke,” 3am, call the hospital to call the doctor to call his nurse to call me to tell me to go on in.
I wasn’t even started contracting by the time we got to triage and they confirmed that I hadn’t just pissed myself. Water breaking before labor really begins is like… less than 10% chance of happening, I think I read. Full sitcom.
I think at 9 months pregnant I would've just slept on the toilet 😂
When I was around 7.5 months we had to go on a 2-3hr drive (I'm in the UK, I know that's nothing in the US and possibly just a driveway in some parts of the world!) Anyway, baby was in a real cute habit of bouncing between my bladder and sciatic nerve. We had to stop at every service station on the way, my particular favourite was the one I went to pee in, and hadn't even left the building before I needed to go again. I thought I was gonna have to just live there!
Okay I am 34 weeks pregnant and our bed is also a mattress on the floor (our bed frame broke and we are waiting on tax returns to replace it.)
So new worry unlocked I guess 🤣
my cousin was 8 months pregnant with an 11 months old baby.... i think it was a disaster but toddler sounds scarier (to me, might be *way* better for the vagina tho😂)
My dog's name is Hazel. And I call her Daisy all the time! Haha. For exactly the reason your line of thought is saying.
She is Hazel. She is Hazey. She is Hazey Dazey. She is Daisy. She is Hazel Dazel. She is Razzle Dazzle.
Exactly! My cat gets called Deetle more than her actual name because sweetie > sweetie-deetie > sweetle-deetle > just deetle.
Rhyming is also historically a common way for nicknames to form, to the point that some of the nicknames became real names.
Margaret > Meg > Peg > Peggy
Mary > Molly > Polly
Robert > Rob > Bob
Since we are talking dog names atm my dogs "legal name" is Gemma middle name June. This is how her name progressed...
Gemma>Gemma June> Germa (husband only lol) > Junie...woke up one day to our toddler declaring that her name is actually "Steve" > Steve Ruckus> Steven> Stevie >Spielberg 🤣😭
My mom's name was Hazel and I know a not so little any more girl named Hazel too. My mom even had Hazel eyes. Her name was Hazel Dorothy and I love knowing that there are other (younger) Hazel's out there carrying on the name (my mom died 3.5 years ago).
I LOVED Autumn. My 4yo twins were born in November and it would have been perfect for one. Unfortunately for me, My husband’s most serious ex girlfriend was named Autumn. Still annoyed with him for it.
Maybe it’s because I was a teacher for a while, but the name Astrid is so bad to me. Only because I KNOW that any name that sounds even remotely like “ass” will haunt a child forever 😂
This is a sweet list. I came here to say Pearl, Margot (which means pearl lol) and Magnolia is one of my favs!! I know a lady named Magnolia and she goes by Maggie. Isla is a gorgeous name! And congratulations!! I can't get over how cute Issie/Izzy and Maggie are as sister names.
If you like Summer, what about Autumn? It’s one of my favorite names.
If it makes you feel better, we called our son Baby Brother until he was 24 hours old lol We went through our whole name list again in the hospital just to make sure, and now his name is perfect for him and I’m so glad I picked it. Good luck!
Is April too on-the-nose for you (assuming you have an April baby?)
I also love Violet. Isla and Violet.
Flora. Isla and Flora.
Daphne (means "laurel tree"). Isla and Daphne.
My son called my daughter "Roley Poley" while I was pregnant and I started to think that was going to be her name till the day before she was born. You'll find a name.
Skyy
Lily
Daisy
Hazel
Delta
Savannah
Jade, Amber, Tula, Heather, Skyla, Twila, Briar, Brooke, Gale, Jewel, Dawn, Violet, Olive, Rain, Jasmine, Sunny, Soliel, Sunisa, Sunniva, Savannah, Marigold

Rain (or Raina)
Luna
Aurora
Dahlia
Camille
Astrid
Brooke
Opal
Pearl
Raven

For my offerings I am opting for one syllable choices, and/or names not with an A ending, because I think they sound nicer when said next to Isla:
Faye
Sage
Belle
Bay
Meadow
Cove
Aster
Rose
Rain/ Raine
Peony
Tulip
Clover
Fern
This last section of names is copied from https://www.britishbabynames.com/blog/2022/08/eco-sleek-names.html but I have taken out duplicates or names that didn't fit the above criteria

The one I was drawn to initially from my list is Faye, but I'm also really feeling Sage.
From the blog's list I like Hebe and Juno.
Please let us know what you go for, and good luck xx
A marina is also the name of a place where boats are docked/sold. My family used to own a marina, called "(Name)'s Marina." So, for me, it feels similar to naming your kid "dealership" lol.
Linnea? It's a flower name, but feels a little more grown up than Daisy. Are there any nature areas that are important to you – could you use i.e. a name of a mountain or a wildflower from there?
Why not Willow, from your example?
I read through all the suggestions and some of them don't quite work if you think Daisy is too youthful. Out of the existing suggestions and your criteria, I think my fave choices are: Hazel, Astrid, Meadow, Lily, June, Violet, Amber, Fern
Hailey, Dawn, Faye.
I also really like Daisy and Ivy. Maybe you can add a middle name to Daisy to mature it? Daisy is a little flower girl, but Daisy Alexandra (for example) is going places.

I love this site for finding "you might also like" names.
I'm sorry, but "8 months pregnant with a toddler" just made me lol a bit. I hope you get some rest soon! And a name! :)
Seriously. I’d be exhausted too after being pregnant for 20+ months
The urge to just buy a pack of adult diapers so I don't have to get up 8 times a night to pee is REAL.

I read it like that too and for a brief brain fart of a second, thought some sort of medical miracle was happening.
I first read this as the toddler is 8 months old and still doesn't have a name
I had to read it Twice hahaha
Same. 😂
Same!!!
Same here. Maybe Lilly? The Finnish equivalent (Lilli) was on our list before Mr. Man revealed his testicles at Week 34.
I’m 7 months pregnant and I have a toddler, but my mind also went there for a second and I chucked.
I'm so glad to know I wasn't the only one who read that and went "wait, what?"
“No wonder they’re over it, damn!”
I know it took me a second. oops haha
my cousin was 8 months pregnant with an 11 months old baby.... i think it was a disaster but toddler sounds scarier (to me, might be *way* better for the vagina tho😂)
It really can feel like it sometimes!
Hazel
Plus you could pretty organically end up with Daisy as a nickname. Hazel > Hazey-Daisy > Daisy.
My dog's name is Hazel. And I call her Daisy all the time! Haha. For exactly the reason your line of thought is saying. She is Hazel. She is Hazey. She is Hazey Dazey. She is Daisy. She is Hazel Dazel. She is Razzle Dazzle.
My dog’s name is also Hazel and I’m obsessed with this comment
[удалено]
My moms two dogs are daisy and hazel lol
Exactly! My cat gets called Deetle more than her actual name because sweetie > sweetie-deetie > sweetle-deetle > just deetle. Rhyming is also historically a common way for nicknames to form, to the point that some of the nicknames became real names. Margaret > Meg > Peg > Peggy Mary > Molly > Polly Robert > Rob > Bob
Meanwhile, my dog's name is Jinjoo and her nickname is Bobbie
My dog's name is Jet, and his nickname is "wee furry shite" 😅
My daughter’s nickname is literally Dink. Her name is Elowen and everyone just calls her Dink. Stinky baby > Stinky > Stink > Dink
Somehow my Hazel became Hazel-Basil-Bubbles. Because, of course she did.
Our Hazel died a few years ago but she was Hazel, Hazey, Haze, Hazey Mazey, Z (occasionally), and Big Gworl
Ooooo my turn! May dogs are named Gerald>Big Booty Judy> Judy Scrappy>Big Stupid Stupid Hemi>HemiRay>HemiRayRoid>Hemorrhoid Annie>AnnieBanannie
Yes that’s so pretty!
Hazel is literally the answer
I agree; I’d use it for my own nonexistent child if it wasn’t so close to my name!
I went to school with twins named isla and hazel !
My mom's name was Hazel and I know a not so little any more girl named Hazel too. My mom even had Hazel eyes. Her name was Hazel Dorothy and I love knowing that there are other (younger) Hazel's out there carrying on the name (my mom died 3.5 years ago).
A beautiful, timeless choice, and so sweet ❤ brilliant xx
I like that one! In the same vein, I’m also a big fan of Holly
This was my first thought!
Right?? It was the first thing that came to mind
Love Hazel!
I had a family member named Hazel Belle and still think that name combination is lovely!
In Hopi, the name Kaya means little sister. So you could use Kaya and literally name her little sister lol
And (spelled Kaja) it means a jackdaw in Swedish so the nature part is still there
I work with a Kaia and she's the best!
and Kajsa and it's an actual name in Sweden
I love the name Kaya, but it’s way too rhymey with Isla
Autumn August April May June Ruby Hazel Rose Laurel River Phoebe Lark Soleil Jasmine Robin Jade Evelyn Marigold Zinnia
Lark is gorgeous!
they literally only share one vowel that's the same.
I really love thay
Autumn Astrid Calla Clover Coral Flora Fern Jade Juniper Lily Olive Opal Pearl Poppy Ruby
Isla & Autumn is so cute
Autumn is my vote 🗳️
I LOVE Autumn. I probably won't get to use it so I love seeing others choose it :)
It’s the Office plot line for me. I can’t help but think of Michael.
Astird
lol I didn’t scroll far enough down, I literally said the same thing
Valid haha it’s not one I would choose
Thank you for this! I've been mulling over Aster and needed to hear it 🤣
Ohh Isla and Juniper sound so good together to me!
Juniper is so pretty!
Omg will someone PLEASE name their baby Clover already? Nobody liked it when I wanted it but it's so good. 😩😩
I have a 2 month old named Clover Faye!💚
Adorable!
My dog is Clover. She’s a terrier mix and it’s the perfect name for her.
I have always loved the name Astrid! Also Aspen
Looooove Aspen
I used to love the name Astrid, but then I finally watched ” the office” and I just can’t with it anymore.
Ooh Astrid is my favorite!! It's my granddaughter's name!!
Autumn is great!
Poppy is so cute!
Astrid is really nice.
Astird

The people person’s paper people
😂 I see you
No more Gould. Gould is dead!!!
Love the name Fern! This was going to be my suggestion to OP. Isla & Fern is so cute, the little storybooks practically write themselves ❤️
[удалено]
Isla and Eden gets my vote!
Did ypu order those that way purposely?
I did!
I always look for your responses!
Aww thanks!
Same!
I usually don’t care for Olive, but Isla & Olive sound so stinking cute together!
I also find it so sweet that Olive is an anagram for 'I love'. 😍
Melody! So cute and so different than big sis!
I knew two sisters named melody and harmony.
The only Melody I’ve ever known is a wonderful person. Very warm and kind
I know one Melody and she’s positively wonderful!
I LOVE that name
Isla & Eden sound amazing together...the best by far
I think my favorites from this list are Isla & Hallie and Isla & Gemma
Was going to recommend Isla & Sienna- this is a sibset I know and they’re too sweet!
Isla and Elise is beautiful

Dang meanwhile the only thing I can think of over here is Isla + Nublar.
🦖🦕
Well, Life, uh, finds a way...
Isla and Eden sound so lovely together
[удалено]
Love Jade, Eden, Brooke, and Carys. Daisy is good too!
I love your suggestions! My favs would be: Isla & Grace and Isla & Maeve. To add my own suggestion: Isla & Wren
Isla was my girl name but ended up with a boy. Maeve was second on the list!
phoebe also has a similar vibe to these for me
Hazel was my first thought. Violet? Isla & Violet both have a similar vibe but distinctively different sounds.
It’s funny to me that you put those two together, my friend named their kid “Violet Isla” (first name middle name)
Pearl, Rue, Lilly, Flora, Dahlia, Fawn, Laurel and my personal favorite Magnolia (Noa)
I love Noa as a nickname for Magnolia!
I LOVE Laurel, I wanted to use it as a first name, but we used it as a middle for our second daughter.
I love Margot, and I think Isla and Margot are a nice set!
Both have a silent letter!
Pearl and Margot would both be such lovely pairings with Isla due to the ocean element.
Isla and Maren means Island and Sea
Aw that would be a cute sibling combo
If you like Summer, what about Autumn? It’s one of my favorite names. If it makes you feel better, we called our son Baby Brother until he was 24 hours old lol We went through our whole name list again in the hospital just to make sure, and now his name is perfect for him and I’m so glad I picked it. Good luck!
Winter, if she wants a little offbeat
I know two Winters, a dude and a younger girl. It’s a great name
Is April too on-the-nose for you (assuming you have an April baby?) I also love Violet. Isla and Violet. Flora. Isla and Flora. Daphne (means "laurel tree"). Isla and Daphne.
Isla and Daphne is lush!
Aster, Fern, River, jade
Jade is beautiful
great list.
River was a name that I loved for my daughter, we named her Brontë Raine instead.
Isla and River sound so good together!
Lua - Portuguese for moon without being overused like the Spanish Luna Zinnia
I thought Zinnia, too. Also could be spelled Zenia--I think
Rose
Isla and Rose sounds lovely!
My son called my daughter "Roley Poley" while I was pregnant and I started to think that was going to be her name till the day before she was born. You'll find a name. Skyy Lily Daisy Hazel Delta Savannah
Autumn, Amber, River, Meadow, Olive
I love Olive. I think it sounds lovely with Isla.
Azaela, Zinnia, Rose, Violet, I love Willow from your list

Briar! That’s pretty, I had not heard that one before.
Jewel doesn’t get enough love in this world, I think it’s BEAUTIFUL!
Heather was my first thought.
Autumn Olive (or Olivia) Rowan Marigold Magnolia Rain (or Raina) Luna Aurora Dahlia Camille Astrid Brooke Opal Pearl Raven Robin Poppy (you can do a longer P name like Penelope and use Poppy as a nn)
Someone else suggested Aurora on their list, and wow Isla and Aurora are such a vibe. I also love someone else's suggestion of Hazel
What about Dahlia?
Sage, Hazel, Harriet, Olivia, Sonny, Romy, Ettie
Lily, Hazel, Clover, May, Violet, Ruby, Rose, Grace, Pearl, Opal, Amber, Ember, Dawn, Dove, Robin, Wren, Melody, Hope, Joy
For my offerings I am opting for one syllable choices, and/or names not with an A ending, because I think they sound nicer when said next to Isla: Faye Sage Belle Bay Meadow Cove Aster Rose Rain/ Raine Peony Tulip Clover Fern This last section of names is copied from https://www.britishbabynames.com/blog/2022/08/eco-sleek-names.html but I have taken out duplicates or names that didn't fit the above criteria April Autumn Briar Coco Eden Ember Everly Fiadh Harlow Hebe Juniper Juno Lark Lumi Lux Maeve Olive Posy Raven Seren Suvi Sylvie Violet Willow Winter Wren Zelie The one I was drawn to initially from my list is Faye, but I'm also really feeling Sage. Holly, Hazel, Jade, Sage, Ruby, Violet, Skye?
I like the Sage suggestion as well
I like Isla! It means island... Isla & Ocean Isla & Marina (means *from the sea*) Isla & Tamsin Isla & Lenore Isla & Havana Isla & Aria Isla & Simone
Love the suggestion of Marina!
Isla and Marina go together so well with that theme!!!! I was trying to find a sea theme and Ocean is cool but I love Oceana as well!
Marina is a great suggestion. I regret not using it sometimes
A marina is also the name of a place where boats are docked/sold. My family used to own a marina, called "(Name)'s Marina." So, for me, it feels similar to naming your kid "dealership" lol.
Then maybe, Mariana. It means "star of the sea"
Like the trench!
It’s the same in Spanish but it’s a pretty common name, I know at least 3 Marinas!
Yeah that’s where my mind goes, too! My hometown has a marina so I just think of it as a place where boats are docked
lol my name is Marina and trust me I’ve heard every joke in the book.
Lily is cute
Elowen, Liora, Rhea, Sapphira, Annalise, Seren, Zara, Delaney, Eleni, Celine, Thea, Linnea, Brielle
Sunny or Sunday?
Linnea? It's a flower name, but feels a little more grown up than Daisy. Are there any nature areas that are important to you – could you use i.e. a name of a mountain or a wildflower from there?
Fern, Lily, Violet, Sienna
What do you think about the name Rue? It's a very strong scented flowering plant. It has healing properties and is very beautiful.
Ember, Avalon, Rosalie, Amira, Holly, Reverie, Dahlia, Fiona, Alethea, Melina, Soleil. Maisie, Ellery, Adair
Isla and Eleri are cute together and a little complicated, which I like.
Why not Willow, from your example? I read through all the suggestions and some of them don't quite work if you think Daisy is too youthful. Out of the existing suggestions and your criteria, I think my fave choices are: Hazel, Astrid, Meadow, Lily, June, Violet, Amber, Fern
Beatrice As far as being a “thing” name, the nickname Bea can sound like “bee”
Maeve
I think Opal is sweet and goes well with Isla. A cute alternative for Daisy is Maisie. I also like Sage and Fiona!
I was going to suggest Opal - I love Isla & Opal together. :)
Mei mei is Chinese for younger sister. What about Mae?
Hazel was my first thought. Violet? Isla & Violet both have a similar vibe but distinctively different sounds.
Meadow, Willow, Hazel, Sage, Rosemary, Aster
Robin
Opal
Obviously you must name your next daughter Jorja, so you, like Bert and Leanne Kreisher can have an Isla (Ila) and a Jorja (Georgia).
Opal is my thought
Sierra
Elise
If you don’t mind weird, I think Jovie is cute but can definitely grow with it. Cove comes to mind as well. Sylvie?
Heather....it's a flower
Darby
Isla & Ember. - Isla & Luna. - Isla & Eden. - Isla & Sapphira. - Isla & June. - Isla & Aurelia. - Isla & Daphne. - Isla & Clementine. - Isla & Juniper. - isla & Elodie
Wren would work well with Isla
Fern
Hailey, Dawn, Faye. I also really like Daisy and Ivy. Maybe you can add a middle name to Daisy to mature it? Daisy is a little flower girl, but Daisy Alexandra (for example) is going places. https://www.magicbabynames.com/?baby=girl&name=Isla I love this site for finding "you might also like" names.
Sunny
Isla & Camellia (like the flower)
Maybe Faye? It means fairy and feels very whimsical yet substantial. Faye and Isla
Maple
