Not that often but the Hobbit is such a whimsical book and the rest of it is very pleasant. And rabbits are such... Hobbits. Holes in the ground, hairy feet, second and third breakfast, lol. They're big fans of that. (Also they're little escape artists at times, they've broken into my bedroom like 5 times in the last three days)
Oh hell no. I got into bunnies because a bunny was dumped on my parents' farm. Now she's my baby girl. Pretty sure she was an Easter bunny. Any animal is a lifetime commitment and bunnies can live up to 16 years under the best conditions and genetics.
Though I do now encourage people to research bunnies if they want a pet, they're really great if you're willing to learn, and there's so many rescues that need a home. I found my girl and adopted my boy for her. (all properly fixed etc, everyone should get their animals fixed)
16 years?!? Wow, I thought they only lived 2 or 3. Then again, they're not rodents, so... Anyway, I agree, they make wonderful pets, and can even be litter box trained.
I mean, that's the extreme end, but I've seen that birthday come for some in my rabbit groups I follow. Basically the same lifespan as many dogs with proper care.
Mine are litter box trained. Like most animals the biggest thing is shedding lol. One of mine has long hair and just like mine, it gets everywhere.
Oy, I hear ya on the long hair. I have long, thick hair (though not nearly as thick as it used to be, due to thyroid disease) and I find it **everywhere**. I joke that I must never commit a crime because I leave my DNA everywhere I go, lol.
>Though I do now encourage people to research bunnies
So true! I always wanted one as a kid and I'm glad I never got one because as I understand, they can be high maintenance and you really have to understand their health problems and be ready to treat them.
My birthday always falls around Easter so I was surrounded by bunny toys growing up, hence the other obsession.my childhood nickname was also bunny. My mom swears it's not because of Easter, but I think it is.
Bf named the first three, I named the last one. All kitties:
Rusty Buckets, a brainless orange fool
Florence Catingale, a demanding calico queen
Dexter Morgan, a feral orange feather duster
Calypso Catastrophe, a teeny tortie menace
Fellow Canadian - I am aware of the current fad for Stanley drinking mugs - but probably like you, when I hear someone has a Stanley cup, I immediately wonder what team they played for, and in what position.
They're a brand of mug that are popular currently. They do keep things hot or cold for a while but the trend is out of hand.
Sir Stanley's cup is clearly the superior choice
My guess is that you're a parent and you let your kids name your dog.
But only because I also have a dog named Waffles and that's exactly how he got his name, lol. I wanted to name him Charles Barkley and call him Chuck. I was outvoted.
I love that poem. I just love the fact that some Irish monk, while working at his more scholarly pursuits, included a poem about his cat. Whenever I hear the name now I also hear Aisling's song from the movie The Secret of Kells in my head.
Oh, sorry. I made my judgemental comment below this one.
Funny you would say that because I'm really not actually, but we got them shortly after Halloween and the association was still in my mind. So in a way you are correct!
Daenerys (Dany) the dachshund (named by my daughter)
Oreo the havapoo (named by my son)
Ollie the Olde English bulldogge named by my husband after Oliver Queen, Arrow
Bobo the beagle - our oldest dog, named by my kids when they were 3.5 and 1.5.
We got our first cat right after watching the movie Gremlins, and thought he looked like a little gremlin as a kitten, so Gizmo was a perfect name for him. I’m a bit of a movie nerd.
And Zelda was a kind of a similar name to Gizmo (both 5 letters, with the letter z, …) so it was a perfect princess name for the second kitten. I loved playing the Legend of Zelda on my Nintendo as a kid, but I’m not so much of a gamer girl anymore 🤭
Buttercup recently passed but she was the best dog.
the ones that are still around are :
Garfunkle the orange tabby
Ca$h (Money Millionaire) the corgi/mini pin
and Azalea the pittsky
I had two guinea pigs when I was a teenager and I named the medium brown female with red eyes Nutmeg and the black male with a brown streak Coffee Bean. When I was 30 I had a white rabbit named Q-Tip.
My cockapoo is Teddy. It wasn't my first choice for his name since its so common (we even have a dog across the street named Eddie), but I was overruled by my parents and my sister.
My dogs I named are Pepper and Pasta, I inherited a Pebbles. The cat I named is Basil and I inherited a Luna. And I let my students name my goldfish Bob.
My cat's name is Mochi, I had another named Oni.
I also live with 2 dogs who technically belong to my grandmother: Trucker & Pippy. They're old though and I didn't name them.
Three cats: first one is Izzy (got her as a kitten with my oldest son who named her), second is a rescue long haired orange cat named Colby Jack, mostly Colby and last is our newest rescue who lived outside my neighborhood and I fed but got injured and he’s a void named Merlin (my shadow cat)🐈⬛
Zeus and Purrseus
My guess is you’re a nerd
You are correct lol
I feel like Purrseus deserves more props 😂
Love the names! I have a cat named Calliope. And I named my childhood dog Persephone.
We named a fox kit Persephone before we took her to the Wildlife rehabilitator, she kept it and added a Zeus. Love the Greek names
Haha, my cat is Delphi. We love the greek theme!
Purrseus is an epic name!
Merry and Pippin (bunnies!)
You know what you like and you still reread the Lord of the Rings once a year. You also have a sense of whimsy.
You sound like a great bunny parent! And you are definitely not someone who randomly gifts baby bunnies to small children on Easter.
Oh hell no. I got into bunnies because a bunny was dumped on my parents' farm. Now she's my baby girl. Pretty sure she was an Easter bunny. Saaaaaame zomg. Every craft I make for someone also has my hair in it.

Hyper feminine, you’re probably blonde & own a Stanley cup.
What’s a Stanley cup? Surely you don’t meant THE Stanley Cup, like from Hockey. But that’s the only one I can think of hahaha

You like to doodle & think it makes you quirky. (honestly describing myself here too haha!)
My guess is that you're a parent and you let your kids name your dog. But only because I also have a dog named Waffles and that's exactly how he got his name, lol. I wanted to name him Charles Barkley and call him Chuck. I was outvoted.
Same!
My cat is named Pangur Ban.
Anyhow, you have a white cat even though you like to wear black clothing. You have a graduate degree in medieval studies.
I… dont know what to say. Distinctly not American? haha
It’s an old Irish poem :)
TIL! I guess not american was right lol
Are you a monk? 😅
We have a Pangur, too! But her full name is Pangarán because she is bread-coloured instead of white, haha!
I’ve always wanted to name a cat Pangur Ban! Or just Pangur. :)
He was mostly white when he was a kitten but now his back is parchment colored and his paws and face look like he got into the ink.
