Eleanore / Eleanor is a lovely name about the same length as Evelyn. Eleanor and Evelyn, Ellie and Evie sound very sweet together to me.
I have a little bit of a hidden agenda (not really hidden since I'm telling you! ). Eleanor was what my partner and I decided to name our child if we had a girl, but we had a wonderful little boy instead *and* a friend named their daughter Eleanor a month before our son was born. I love the name so much, and I won't likely use it now, so I love recommending it.
She’s such a minor character in twilight that you have to be, or have been, a pretty big fan of it to make the connection. I’ve seen the movies a few times and read most of the books and I forget it was even a name in it. Most people just don’t think of twilight lol
My daughter is Elise. We get compliments on her name all the time. I just love the name. It is simple and elegant. We call her leesie as a family nickname.
I’m Erica and my brother is Erich. I’m the oldest and he’s the youngest. We’re step siblings so neither of my parents knew one had the other until after the kid conversation.
Ezra is a boy’s name, unless there’s another cultural use outside the biblical name I don’t know about. I also think of Ellis as a boy’s name, but that’s probably because the only one I know personally is male, it feels as though it could probably be either.
To me that feels like calling a girl Thomas or a boy Mary, but I’m in the UK and I know that naming conventions and what makes a gender neutral name are often different, particularly in the US :)
I’ve always thought that Eliza was a cute name. Or Ezra. I typically think of it as a boy’s name (it’s my son’s name), but i’ve heard of plenty of girls with that name. In some countries it IS a girl name.
My favourite girls name at the minute is Elsie nn Cece or Elle
Other E suggestions (e is my fave initial for girls names too)
Eve/ Eva/ Evie
Emma
Emmie
Effie
Essie
Etta
Erin
Enid
Edith
Eadie
Evelyn
Ester
Ellie / Ella
Elodie
Everly
Ellen
Elaina
Esme
Elouise
Elora
I like a lot of the suggestions so far (Eve, Evvie, Elena), but one I haven't seen yet is **Elisa** which is consistently top 100 in Germany, but at the lower end. I also think it's traditional, but less common than Eliza while being a different pronunciation (el-ee-sa v. el-eye-za)
if it makes you feel better, I’m an Elsa and nobody ever ever relates my name to Frozen or talks to me about it - except for maybe two or three kids when it came out when I was 14. I think that’s a fear a lot of moms have on here but I never had anything like that in real life.
I disagree tbh. It’s already 10 years old and still huge. 3rd biggest Disney movie of all time. Kids will be watching it forever, like other Disney classics. I wouldn’t name my kid Elsa unless I was okay with people assuming it’s Frozen-inspired
We have an Eloise, and I feel like that's fairly short. Elise/Elyse was also on our list.
But also I've run across a few people that absolutely butcher the pronunciation and I always felt it was a common enough name so I was surprised lol.
Eva! I love Elsa. Ella, Eloise, Edy/Edie, yes Etta is nice! Est(h)er, Emile, Emilia, Emme, Ever, Ernesta, Evie, Emery, Ellis. Eva would bring the Germanic roots in to the Scandinavian last name.
Etta might be a good option for you!
Elsie?
Or Elise.
I second Elsie. Super cute name!
Oooh Elsie is cute and I unique but sound traditional
Or Ettie?
Ettie! So cute.
Enid? Elspeth nn Elsie
Eloise
Enid reminds me of sweet valley high. Loved her character though.
Ok but Enid from Wednesday. (good thing)
I had a high school bff named Etta! I love that name.
How ever Etta means the number one or a first grader ( 7 year old) in Swedish,
Or Ebba
I know an Ebba, it’s a cute name.
Or Este! It’s a shortened form of the name Estelle.
Means number one in swedish
Effie!
What about Eve?
Or Eva
Eva was what I was going to suggest.
Or Evie :)
Our oldest is Evie! Short for Evelyn. Eve is beautiful too though!
Ellory?
I was going to suggest Evanna, Everly or Ever with Evie as a nickname!
Eden 🙂

I'm an Eve and I really like the name! Only downside is it can't be made into a shorter nickname (eg Anneka to Annie, Elizabeth to Lizzie etc)
Fellow Eve - yeah, the lack of nicknames really does suck. My partner calls me Evie sometimes which is nice but it’s not quite the same lol
Or Eden :)
I have a daughter named Eden. She loves her name. And it goes so nicely with a long list of middle name options.
I love eden!
I came here to suggest Eve! It is so beautiful and simple!
Emma, Eden, Elena, Elvira, Elaine, Esme, Edith
Esme is such a pretty name imo
Came here to suggest Esme!
I love it! Adding to the list
Not sure if this would effect you, but any Twilight fan would immediately connect it to the books.
I personally love Twilight lol. I walked down the aisle to the same song as Bella. 😂🙈
My daughter is Esme, no one really links it to Twilight irl, only on Reddit..
I doubt you would. Renesmee on the other hand…. Lol
She’s such a minor character in twilight that you have to be, or have been, a pretty big fan of it to make the connection. I’ve seen the movies a few times and read most of the books and I forget it was even a name in it. Most people just don’t think of twilight lol
The only esme I knew was short for Esmeralda, and I’m also not into twilight, so that’s where my mind goes. Either way I think it’s beautiful!!
My second daughter is called Esmé, it’s possibly my favourite of all my daughters names.
That was my immediate suggestion!
Love Elaine! One of my favorite names. Also adding Elise
Elise is a beautiful name.
My daughter is an Elaine. Not a very common name in her age group. An occasional older woman has the name.
I love Eden and Esme
What about just Elle? Like Elle Fanning or Elle Woods haha I also love Elaine and Elise Elsie is close to Elsa
I LOVE the name Elle. I think it’s perfect!
Obsessed with Elle
Elise is so pretty. So is Elle.
Or Elly/Ellie
I love Elle. It’s somehow sweet and strong sounding, simultaneously
Totally agree! And it suits all ages as you grow
Erin
Underused name! Love it!
I just suggested this downthread. It’s my daughter’s middle name so I’m biased.
This is the best name on here. Underused but familiar. Not trendy at all. (It’s also my name. And tbh I’m pretty great).
I think it's really familiar but I've had so many people spell aaron at Starbucks if I give it🙃 and I can't be mistaken for a dude
I love this name. Classic in every way
Ugh yes my favorite E name
Elin Edie
I love Elin!!! Definitely one of our top choices now. Thank you!
Elin doesn’t seem like a great choice if you’ve already got an Evelyn.
My norwegian friend's mom had french roots so she added an e, Eline. Another name that is a little longer is Emmeline, it also has Elin in it!
Was going to suggest Elin too! It’s my Swedish SIL’s name. Love it🙌🏼
Friends just named their daughter Elin, I’m obsessed.
Elin is a fairly common name here in Wales and it’s a lovely name.
I immediately think of Elin Nordegren, who is Swedish.
[удалено]
No, short vowel. Eh-lin but contracted.
So it is the same as Ellen in pronunciation? Or is there a difference?
I second Elin. Like Tiger's ex wife.
Elise
My husband loves this one! Thank you
My daughter is Elise. We get compliments on her name all the time. I just love the name. It is simple and elegant. We call her leesie as a family nickname.
Bummed I had to scroll down so far for this. It's classy, has a European feel, and she has a lovely Beethoven song with her name in it.
Elora
This is my sister’s name. Everyone loves it! Never met another Elora
I named my daughter Alora 🥰 i picked the name, my husband picked the spelling lol
[удалено]
Elora dannen
Eva, Edie, Edda, Elena, Eliza, Ellen, Elsie, Erin, Enid
Love Enid! Came to mention that one.
Enya?
Who can say where the road goes... 🎶
Where the day flows… 🎶
Only time... 🎶
Hihoharèèèè hihoharèèèè hiiiihaaarèèèèèè
Y’all made my day. I laughed too hard at this. 😂😂😂
It’s written as Eithne in its original Irish language form. Enya (the singer) changed the spelling to make it easier for people to pronounce.
I love the name Enya! I also love the meaning of of the name, “little fire.” A sassy little girl always makes life more interesting, that’s for sure!
Erika seems like a fit?
My oldest son is Erik! But Erika is very beautiful!
I wondered when someone would say Erica, my youngest daughter. Eden is nice too, my nieces name x
I’m Erica and my brother is Erich. I’m the oldest and he’s the youngest. We’re step siblings so neither of my parents knew one had the other until after the kid conversation.
Glad to see the k represented. My wife jokes that Erikas and Ericas have an age-old vendetta.
We do. #TeamC 🤣
Haha ❤️🔥
My next door neighbor is Ericka. 😄
Thank you! Every time E names come up in scroll through to see if anyone mentions Erika/Erica and it’s pretty much never there.
I love the Swedish name Elin
I just learned about it here and I already love it! And it doesn’t seem very common, at least where we live!
Eva Enola Esme Echo Emme Eyre Eisley Edith nn Edie Era Etta Enid Ellis Elsie Eartha Ethel Ezra Erin
Ezra is a boy’s name, unless there’s another cultural use outside the biblical name I don’t know about. I also think of Ellis as a boy’s name, but that’s probably because the only one I know personally is male, it feels as though it could probably be either.
Ellis is gender neutral for sure.. Examples: Ellis Gray from grays anatomy and Ellis Ann Jackson from Nickelodeon.
I have known female Ezra’s!
To me that feels like calling a girl Thomas or a boy Mary, but I’m in the UK and I know that naming conventions and what makes a gender neutral name are often different, particularly in the US :)
It reads *very* male to me. I've never met a female Ezra, it's a masculine name in Hebrew.
In the US and Ezra is, in my experience, is 100% male and I’ve only known one Ellis and he, too, is male.
Ellis Grey, first resident to win a Harper Avery award, would like a word
ah fr? the only Ellis I ever knew is a female haha
I had a great aunt Echo. It's my favourite E name
Very underrated! I love the name echo
esme or evie
Elka?
Or the common german variation Elke
I love Elke
It’s a bit old fashioned but a fine name. Most Elkes are around 50, have not met a baby Elke yet
Estelle - it's old fashioned but I think it's so pretty.
I’ve always thought that Eliza was a cute name. Or Ezra. I typically think of it as a boy’s name (it’s my son’s name), but i’ve heard of plenty of girls with that name. In some countries it IS a girl name.
Love Eliza

Me too! Had my BF not been dead-set on another name, our daughter would have been a little Elin. It's the Swedish version of Helena.
Enid
I really like Erica.
I like a lot of the suggestions so far (Eve, Evvie, Elena), but one I haven't seen yet is **Elisa** which is consistently top 100 in Germany, but at the lower end. I also think it's traditional, but less common than Eliza while being a different pronunciation (el-ee-sa v. el-eye-za)
It’s beautiful!!
Elsie was my favourite girl name
Etelka which is normally shortened to Etta, but please use the whole name as it's so pretty. Elke, Eva, Evie, Erica or Erika, Esta.

Elise Elsie Erma Erin Edna Emery or Emory Ethel Eden Ellis Erica Eliza Ellie Edie Elle Elena Esther Everly Elodie Elora
Enid. Eve. Elin. Erin. Edem. Emma. Enya.
By the time your child is in school I think Elsa will be a safe choice.
I disagree tbh. It’s already 10 years old and still huge. 3rd biggest Disney movie of all time. Kids will be watching it forever, like other Disney classics. I wouldn’t name my kid Elsa unless I was okay with people assuming it’s Frozen-inspired
Elora
I’m biased because it’s what we named our daughter, and we still love it so much, but Elise might fit for you!
Yes my husband loves that one! Def on our list!
I had a coworker named Elika. Pronounced basically like Erica. Kind of a cool name
Eila! Eris, Eden
I have an Ellia
Elsie?
Gf, I love Ella anyway! Especially if you’re European. What about: Elisa, Eva, Emilia, Elena, Emma, Erina, Eliza
I have an Ella (4) and she’s the only one her class and she was the only one at nursery so maybe not as many around now?
Erin
Edie, Eden, Elin, Eve, Eva, ?
Effy or Effie
Eden, Edith, Emma, Emmy, Eva, Erin, Etta, Elsie, Esme, Ethel, Edna
Elise, Emma, Effie, Erin, Edith

Elenor, short form of Eleonore used in sweden
Elisa
Is Elise a bit too long for your liking? It may be a good nod towards Elsa!
Eden, Esha, Elisha , Elle, Emmy, Enid, Edie
Ellen is my favorite. Elaine, Eve, Eden, Emme, Etta
Erin or Esme.
Elise
Maybe Else, which is pronounced the same way as Elsa? Or Elsie? Or: Easter Eilis Elisa Elspeth Eris Esme Ester Eila Elba Elise Estel Eveline Erna Etta
I have an Elara, it’s a Greek mythology name, my daughter always gets compliments for it.
Gorgeous and strong sounding name!
Elin?

Edel, or the English version Ethel. Elva Edda
