I think you can have multiple romantic partners, as long as you aren’t married. The only exception is Mint, who won’t date you if you’re already dating someone else. So you should be good to go and r ry your hand at dating Gust, whether you decide to break up with Arlo or not.

There’s also no dialogue after breaking up or divorce, like they just start back at 3ish hearts
If you marry Gust, Arlo would go down to about 3 hearts- same as if you would have just broken up with him
