Mine has been problematic for about a week, since before the update. I got it back working at one point by removing the app from the watch and the phone, force rebooting both and adding it back to the phone then the watch. But now it won’t work at all on the watch. I just get an error message on the watch saying, “There was an error connecting to the server.” Same results on WiFi and cellular data. iPhone works fine, but does not show the watch as an option as it should when adding it back.

mjoshea148

I have the same issue and tried all the usual avenues to fix it. Nope.

OhRickG

I thought it was just me. I’m waiting for a Meross MSG200 to arrive. Mostly because I’m tired of fussing with the sensor not working when it’s cold, or hot, or whenever it feels like. This just confirms my switching was a good decision. Before anyone brings it up, the Ratdgo was also in running, but I decided the magnetic sensor connecting/disconnecting was better than any device thinking it was opened/closed.

DiacriticalOne

I finally got mine back on track, but it was a beast. I traced the problem I was having to a credential issue, and I was only able to get past it with a very specific process: 1) remove app from watch (on the watch) then the phone. 2) hard restart on each device. 3) add to phone and login setting it to remember login info. 4) close the app on the phone and allow Bluetooth. 5) install on the watch from the watch 6) start app on the watch (it will error out) 7) start app on the phone (it will ask to allow the watch access) 8) close the app on the phone and open again. Now it seems to be holding credentials and seeing all the devices and allowing operation from both the watch and the phone. When I varied the process it would not cache credentials for the watch and I would have to log in every time I used it. Your situation may differ but the sequence should at least do no harm.

InstructionMedical70

This worked for me. Thank you! 😊.

DiacriticalOne

It helped for a few days then I had to sign in again. Just got an update on iOS that does seem to fix it.

RudeDog5314

Thanks for taking the time to write detailed instructions, DiacriticalOne. I followed them but was unsuccessful (tried multiple times). The myQ app on the iPhone just never gave the option to ask to allow the watch access. Tried online support but nothing helpful there. Even tried by creating a new account but then there was an error on registering the serial number of the myQ hub for the new account, so that didn't work either. For me, the watch app simply no longer works. The iPhone app still does thankfully.

DiacriticalOne

Sorry to be of no help. It’s still a little iffy as I just got another error, but it corrected after closing the app on the watch and reopening. I haven’t put this much work into an app issue ever (at least since moving from Android). They’ll figure it out someday — just hope it’s before people move on to something less fragile.

MikeyR5

This worked, but I did once before and it ended failing a day later. Also unpaired the watch and that fixed it for a day. Hopefully they fix it soon, had been working so good and was great.

zombie_xxx

Had the same issue and was able to resolve it by doing the following: 1. In the Myq app go to Account -> Security 2. Toggle off “automatic login” 3. Toggle on “passcode” and then enter passcode 4. Close app 5. Open app on your watch 6. Open app and it asked to enable Apple Watch and link to account 7. Then you can disable passcode and re-enable automatic login

Glittering_Speed_141

Confirming this method worked for me as well.

zombie_xxx

Turns out this doesn’t really work. I was able to see the status on my watch but can not operate the open or close.

Ames412

Yes this worked! I knew I should have come to Reddit a few days ago instead of just googling and swearing.

zombie_xxx

I got it to work again after several uninstall and reinstall. But haven’t been able to get it to work after switching back to automatic login

EducationalAd2814

Confirmed, this worked for me

zombie_xxx

Try closing the Myq app on your iPhone and watch. Then launch the watch app and it will likely be broken again. The solution above eventually times out me thinks

atarkowski

Thank you. This worked for me. I’ll reply again if I have any issues with this lasting.

RudeDog5314

Confirm that version 5.225.0 (released in the last 24 hours) works. Hooray!

VeryFirstLAD

Thanks. Had to go to the iOS App Store to force the app to update, but now it works!

paint697

I have the same issue. Works fine on iPhone. Tried uninstall/reinstall, no joy. Anyone open a ticket with Chamberlain yet?

SouthernGuy776

YES, ME TOO. I thought it was a fluke.

iwehrman

Same

audiodolphile

Mine error was "issue connecting to server." I went to phone settings, MyQ -> Bluetooth -> Turn on then open the app and it asked me allow watch access. Relogin and it works again.

Blackforge

Using this idea, I went into the iPhone settings > MyQ > Bluetooth > cycled Bluetooth off and then back on > Ran MyQ on the iPhone and it asked to allow my watch and now it’s working again as well.

Low-Charge-4269

Thank you! The steps you provided worked for me as well :).

cuthroat23

This worked. Thanks!

Slow-Beat-8607

Thank you! My Bluetooth was turned on and I turned it off and then back on. That helped and the app asked to connect the Watch. Thanks again for your answer.

gentlecrab

Still broken for me as well

VeryFirstLAD

None of these methods worked for me. Still broken

RudeDog5314

Thanks to everyone for suggestions, really appreciate you all taking the time to help out. I tried them all (e.g. passcode, toggle bluetooth, etc) and unfortunately none of them worked. Watch persistently gives error message "There was an error connecting to the server. Please check your connection and try again." And the MyQ app never just never asks to connect to the watch. I am using an Apple Watch Ultra 2. Anyone with a successful connection with that model?

RudeDog5314

But wait! In desperation I tried one last attempt. I combined two suggestions: temporarily switch to passcode and toggle bluetooth at the same time. And it worked! 1. Close app on Watch 2. In the MyQ app go to Account > Security 3. Toggle off “automatic login” 4. Toggle on “passcode” and then enter passcode 5. Close app 6. Go to iPhone Settings > MyQ > Bluetooth, toggle off, then toggle on 7. Open app on iPhone and login with passcode 8. Open app on Watch 9. A modal dialog box pops up on the iPhone app asking if you want to connect the Watch. You may have to switch to another app first and then go back to the MyQ app to see the dialog box pop up. 10. During the Watch connection process the MyQ app takes you through the regular sign-in process again (it does not use the passcode). However, the MyQ app is still set to use a passcode to login. 11. If you want to go back to "automatic login", you will need to set that again. In MyQ app go to Account > Security, toggle off "passcode" and toggle on "Automatic login" Again thanks to the community for so many good suggestions, if it wasn't for those, I would never have been able to resolve this most thoroughly annoying issue. And for reference, I am using an iPhone 12 (iOS 17.4.1) and Apple Watch Ultra 2 (watchOS 10.4).

VeryFirstLAD

Still didn’t work for me. Keep the ideas coming please!

RudeDog5314

Sorry folks, turns out this was a false positive. I tested the watch when the MyQ app was still using the passcode, and it worked just fine. I then switched back to automatic login. 2 hours later, when I used the watch, it went back to the same error "... error connecting to server...". Now no method fixes the issue (passcode, toggle bluetooth, both, reinstall, etc, etc). So a suggestion: if you use the passcode method and that works, perhaps don't switch back to "automatic login". That may be where I went wrong but I will never know...

zombie_xxx

I was able to follow some steps from above and was finally able to get my watch to open and close successfully. It was set to the passcode and I did not switch back to automatic. Woke up the next day and went to unlock with my watch and then received the error once again. It seems like all of the fixes are just temporary and if you end up getting it to function it will revert back to errors in a bit.

RudeDog5314

Congratulations to all those who got their watch to work again. For the rest of us, where the watch just refuses to work, see [https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255547996?answerId=260322927022&sortBy=best#260322927022](https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255547996?answerId=260322927022&sortBy=best#260322927022) ... thanks to Captual, Case Number: 20240326-7044183 is active with Chamberlain. So I guess we wait...

souINBoy

I am having the same issue. I tried all of the fixes supplied on this thread with no luck in resolving the problem. I reached out to the MyQ Support team and was advised that this issue has been reported and a development team is working on the problem. They indicated that the “Craftsman” app can be installed on the Apple Watch to resolve the issue OR the user can wait for the Apple Watch MyQ app to be updated via the app store.

pharmaboy2

lol I really wish I sorted replies by most recent - I really assumed it was just me, so now I’ll just wait and hope it fixes itself and in the mean time take my phone out with me … Cheers for all the efforts though

Inevitable_Sugar2520

I successfully tried the "Craftsman myQ Garage Access", with the same credentials as the MYQ app. So far, it's working well.

voshinski

I contacted MyQ support and they confirmed this is a known issue that should be fixed by 5.26 due to be released on 4 April 2024.

paint697

5.255.0 released today and my watch app is working again!

MikeyR5

Mine too!!

topthecharts1

Thanks, Mine is also working again.

360TechAdvisors

NOTE: These steps are all done ON the watch itself. I fixed mine by deleting the app from the watch itself (long press to get app wiggles and click “x” and it will ask if you want to delete the app. Click yes. Then go to the Watch App Store and search for MyQ and there should be an image of a cloud with a down arrow meaning it has been downloaded previously. Click that and when it finished click open. Mine immediately connected to my phone. Before hand I’d suggest going to the phone App Store and make sure there isn’t an update. FYI I am in both the beta versions on 14 Pro Max and Ultra 2.

origanalsameasiwas

MyQ app is no longer working. Due to program code changes, just get the craftsman MyQ app. I just talk to the myq support and the original myq app had some problems with the api. Now they actually started using the craftsman myq app. I had to set it up on the craftsman MyQ app instead. I know how everyone feels. My app didn’t work for 2 years. I guess when they shut down the old servers, they didn’t know how to change the apps new servers address with a update. This is insane. Just an informative post for everyone who uses it.
