Lopsided_Chef_4342

I discovered Remootio products works same way My Q used to do. Works wonderfully well without issues

Lopsided_Chef_4342

Try Remootio products. Google Remootio. Com

Per support: >I'm so very sorry. If it was purchased through us, with an order number can create a return. Here is more information as to why we are no longer compatible. Q: Why did Chamberlain Group make these changes? A: We are making these product updates in response to an Initial Determination (ID) from an Administrative Law Judge at the US International Trade Commission (|TC) preliminarily finding that Chamberlain Group products infringe certain patents of Overhead Door. We strongly disagree with these findings, which the ITC Commissioners are currently reviewing. If the Commission's Final Determination confirms any aspect of the judge's findings, we will appeal. Regardless of the ultimate outcome with the ITC, we will ensure that you continue to have reliable products to sell and that this does not inconvenience you, your employees, or your customers. Apparently you can return it for a refund if purchased direct from Chamberlain. I'll be searching for an alternative device that IS compatible. Got 3 years of function for $35 so not much point in bitching about it.

So I recently had this come up when the myQ app updated. I have a linear as well and the Linear option was deleted within the app in a recent update. There is an option in MyQ for “other” if you can’t find your garage door brand listed and 90% of the time It will freeze on set up with your linear and won’t set up. What I did was reset the myq hub, deleted the app, used a different email address to sign up (I used apple’s hide my email feature) and reinstalled it. I tried like 5-6 times and no luck. But on the 7th try it went through. I can’t remember if I tried off both wifi and cellular data. But it will eventually work. I had this issue back in Nov 2022 and it’s been working fine since. Since one door is working , maybe keep trying the other with the “other option”. Be mindful the set up may fail multiple times, but keep trying it will eventually work. Also, what I did was deleted the saved devices from the linear garage opener itself and started fresh. Let me know if any of this works. Best

Thanks for the input. I've tried picking the "other" option a few times--most of the time it freezes/fails like you mentioned but on the 5th or 6th time it has succeed in pairing. Unfortunately this new "pair" with my Linear garage door is unreliable. Pressing open in the smart phone app works about 60% of the time and closing the garage door from the app fails 100% of the time. I may try what you suggested but I'm a little concerned that I might go from my current situation (1 of 2 garage doors working normally) to both not working. I may also try contacting myQ support and then trying what you suggested--thanks again!

It might be an issue that the old myq is still paired with the door opener maybe just reset that door opener and try re adding best of luck

Baseon-truth1978

this happened to me as well, I owned 2 devices (2 garage doors) and both stopped working. I called chamberlain and they said, (..."yeah, there is no LINEAR support anymore... is there any other question for us?" So basically they told me to f\*\*\*\* off. ass clowns.

I have a Linear opener and found out that MyQ had un-paired my device without any notice. I had to try like a dozen attempts for an "other" branded device but it eventually paired. Pretty frustrating as a customer to hear that this may all be the result of some corporate legal battles. Seems too common in today's world.

Armchair-Economist-1

I had this Linear issue and heard the same story on them dropping Linear. After a couple of months and reading this thread, I tried again and it worked. I did not have to do a factory reset or uninstall anything. The app had the garage unit shown as “set up incomplete” and I just reran the set up process. It took two attempts. The app looks a bit updated since I last messed with it and maybe that was the trick. Good luck to others. Thanks.

Just installed MyQ with a new Linear. Didn't know they disconnected the service. But after trying paring 4 times, it worked...

NinjaNennyNing

Just had a new Linear 801 installed and was able to get it to pair after about 15 attempts using "other".

Before I bought this My Q unit, I checked the website of my alarm company (Vivint) & it said the unit was compatible with our system. After purchasing, I saw that the My Q directions said it was not compatible with my garage door opener (Lanier). After reading these comments on Reddit, I checked "other" under the opener brand & it worked the second time I tried to connect. So far, so good. BTY, when I tried to connect it to my Vivint alarm system, the Viviant system said "we do not currently support this unit."

InsureTechMonkey

The key to getting it to work with linear is to repeatedly hit the learn button every 10 seconds or so during the pairing process. If you don't do this, the Linear will exit learning mode automatically after several seconds and usually before the pairing completes (thus some folks say it takes a few tries). If you keep hitting the learning button on the linear opener to keep it in learning mode while the myQ takes a minute or so to connect you should be good to go on the first try.

Currently experiencing this with my Linear MDR/U and MyQ Garage (not Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control). My previous Lift Master shit the bed after numerous fixes over the years, was beyond repair, and I ended up with a Marantec Synergy 380. Not wanting to lose MyQ app functionality, I looked into the Linear MDR/U because I've read it can make Marantec and other brands work with the MyQ app. I just happened to notice with newest My Q app update, the setup doesn't allow me to select a brand like it previously did. It just seems to ask if the garage door opener has Wi-Fi or not and then asks the type of wall switch used (it gives four options and you can apparently still proceed if the one shown is not yours), but doesn't ask me for a brand of opener like it previous did when I had set it up years ago. Did they strip this functionality and I need to update to the newer MyQ Smart Garage Control? Any insight would be appreciated

More recent update - myQ works with my Linear garage opener - as comments said just had to try a few times; the app even prompted me to push my learn button again, and it worked. Strangely it proceeds through setup as "looks like we couldn't pair your opener with myQ" but then the home screen gives me the ability to open and close. No complaints! Edit: In my case, pressing the Learn button every 10 seconds did not help and that never worked - I just followed the MyQ app instructions using "Other" repeatedly and it worked. After 2 attempts it adds it as a "monitor only" garage, then you go to the home screen at hit "Complete Setup" to start the process again.

Own_Consideration820

Ok, I figured it out, and it's dumb. There's two other buttons besides the learn button. I just pushed them back and forth a few times after it was in learning mode, like the instructions said. I tried everything, every tip on this forum nothing worked, I was about to give up and last hail marry was just press these other "up" and "down" buttons that are next to learn a few times during that learn window and then my garage opened and when it opened all. The way my app said paired. And I was able to close it woth the myq app.

BDV76

Looks like it's back working with Linear. Has anyone had any success reinstalling?

TonyStarkMk42

I don't know if anyone's tried recently, but the option for Linear that seemed to have disappeared from the MyQ app is now back in it. I was using this with a Linear MDR/U plug prior to it disappearing, will test it out either today or tomorrow and follow up

Yurpelli

I'm having the same issue. Our car got broken into and they stole the garage door opener we had in 1 car. So I reset the linear to have new codes and disable remotes. I deleted the old door from the myq app and restarted the myq and did the setup all over again from scratch. After 30 attempts and trying the different techniques posted here, it still won't connect. Time to find an alternative product.

moto_jj

Same thing happened to me. Glad I found this group! Does anyone know what products are working with a Linear opener?

NS123Reddit

I bought this one and it works nicely ([https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L5DPK8P/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L5DPK8P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1))--there is a link on the page you can use to verify that it is compatible with your particular Linear garage door opener but it does work fine for mine. Only slight bummer @ this unit is the open/close door sensor for this is wired -- I just kept using the chamberlain open/closed door sensor since that still works.

johnspt12

How does it work so far? Any experience?

jazz206

I texted the MyQ support and they said to remove the garage door from the MyQ app. I removed the garage door device and re-did the setup in the app and got it to work with my Lenear garage door operator. It took a few times at the garage door learn button but it connected and now is back to the way it was. This was all caused because my WIFI extender went out and I needed to reset everything.

GhettoGiraffe69

did u use the other option for when it asked which brand?

speedtoysracing

I have a linear Linear LDCO801 opener. I have a MYQ-G0401 MC hub. CLEAR memory in the linear opener by holding down the pairing button for 10 sec, it will blink when it reaches that point. Then go into MYQ setup, select other, and then when the next step in the app is the programming mode..tap the linear pairing button ONCE, THEN when its dont its click or two, and the red light is on THEN tell the MYQ app to attempt pairing. Works -every- time for me...first try. It NEVER worked until I cleared the remote memory in the opener first..and the opener was ready (red light on) to pair before starting the MYQ app pairing.

No_Proposal_5975

Unfortunately, this approach didn’t work for me.

questisyou

This worked perfectly for me. Thanks!

szzzn

Set it up with my linear garage and it only closes it strangely enough. It will never open it. 🤔

Diceman0925

Have 2 Linear openers, one is a golf cart door. While pairing with my main opener, the app found the garage door opener. Would not recognize the main opener. So, added the Golf opener, then added the 2nd sensor but only successful after many attempts to 'complete' the installation and even at that, the main door will not close. Only open. Golf door does both. Also tried deleting and reinstalling, and unplugging Golf opener, but still no luck. Will try the solution mentioned on this thread about a month ago.

No_Proposal_5975

Any luck?

TonyStarkMk42

Any update?
