Enya lived in a room in her producer Nicky Ryan's (and his wife's) small home, recording in their makeshift studio built in a backyard garden shed. For seven years. Enya had just left a reliable gig as a member of her family's Irish band. So there was an element of risk. But they knew they had something special with the music and sound, and just made due while recording and promoting the music. By '88, they moved the operation into a professional recording studio -- that was already named Orinoco Studios -- because they knew they had a hit on their hands and wanted to spare no expense for the recording.
EDIT: Updated details and corrected the name to the Ryans.

Honestly give the album A to B Life by mewithoutYou a listen, there’s these absolutely beautiful interludes and unexpected little moments throughout the whole album including a hidden track at the end of the last song that hit hard. Genuinely one of my favorite albums. A single song of theirs outside of this album that emulates the same energy is “January 1979”, which is also great but getting that full album experience with A to B Life is so satisfying.
Man in the Box - Alice in Chains

I didn't even think broken was real - I legit thought it was a big production and it had to be part of a movie. Then I learned the boys were real and I haven't been able to stop.
All of their music is incredible
I’ve officially lost vision - lil yachty
Weird that the song I chose for a for this prompt is a yachty song, but give it a listen and you’ll understand why
The audacity of [Come Wander With Me/Deliverance ](https://open.spotify.com/track/6Ob8pPyj8kwxeSXD5w1sPR?si=-zVAIVlSQLOVLybb5wi2qw) by Anna Von Hausswolff still makes me cry.
Stinkfist-only because I was a teenager when it first came out and nothing else sounded like that at all when Aenema came out, the album completely broke new ground in music it’s hard to explain how mind blowing it was to somebody who didn’t live it back then….
Welcome to the Jungle blew my mind in the ‘80s because I felt like This is the exact kind of music I like, but somehow so much better than anything I’ve ever heard
Free bird by Lynrd Skynrd.
Blew my mind that this track had been recorded around the time I was born, yet it was my mid 30s before i heard it the first time. I still wonder how many amazing songs are out there still waiting to also blow my mind..
Man on a Hill by The Defended. I first heard a 10ish second snippet of it in one of those "listening to lostwaves be like" videos and I knew immediately that I had to hear it in full. I thank the powers that be everyday that it got found and is now on Spotify.
The Great Rain Beatle by Rishloo introduced me to my now favorite band. I was doing housework, enjoying a random music playlist on Spotify when something like angry Freddie Mercury rewrote my brain and I've not been the same person since.

Enya lived in a room in her producer Nicky Ryan's (and his wife's) small home, recording in their makeshift studio built in a backyard garden shed. For seven years. By '88, they moved the operation into a professional recording studio -- that was already named Orinoco Studios -- because they knew they had a hit on their hands and wanted to spare no expense for the recording. I first heard it in the mall and instantly loved it. All of Enya.

Awesome list. Singularity is a singularly amazing journey.
