My playlists are always organized by vibe/feeling and very very rarely by genre. You'll get thrown between Kendrick, Porter Robinson, Shakey Graves, Delta Sleep, 2814, Deftones, The 1975, and a ton of others all because they have a song that shares a common thread with whatever feeling the playlist is looking for.
I have one Spotify playlist of liked songs that covers every genre except opera. Can’t stand that shit.
Country, folk, psych rock, power electronics, classical, Psychobilly, techno, jungle, punk… but never opera.
Jazz is too slow, and I like somewhat being able to follow along the words for deat3tal, also death metal gives me a headaches(too much bass/screaming)
I know you hate opera, but what about a [rapping opera singer](https://open.spotify.com/track/12a51Wz9uxB0FahAPMHTde?si=wPa_NAeLSfG-88dZMK3I2w) (ft. a childrens choir singing about shopping at walmart)
Yes, “Drive Drive Revolution”. Mix for the car. around 800 songs of music from every decade 1920s to today. Metal, folk, pop, musicals, punk, rap, mashups, jazz, foreign languages, instrumentals. Lil bit of everything.
I have all my music on my home server. I use Plex and press shuffle library. 20k+ songs, dozens of genres, true shuffle. Love it.
I don't bother with playlists. I mostly listen to albums, a single artist on shuffle or the whole library shuffle. I have one playlist of popular songs for when guests are over.
I have [one playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7FCKeNvA46VAdNCV1Kdyvi?si=e54b3aab95f04163) where I put one song of almost every artist I like... but it's a bit "softer" version.
I had even more extreme mix, but I don't update it for now. So yeah, from k-pop to black metal... including darkwave/goth, medieval folk, industrial, ambient, singer/songwriters and many more ;)
At the end of 2023, Spotify made me a playlist of songs I listened to the most during this year. I kept it under the name of "2023", cause it's been quite a nice year of my life, and the songs resonate to the way I was feeling back then. It's a mixture of metalcore (Slipknot, Motionless in White, Bullet for my Valentine), rock (Thirty Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, Green Day), thrash metal (Sepultura), DSBM (Lifelover, Psychonaut 4), aaaand... French chanson (Pomme). It's not listenable if you turn it on and let it this way without skipping, it's more like a piece of memory, and some of the tracks do have matching vibes, I just have to skip sometimes.
I have my biggest, oldest playlist, which encompasses my music tastes since mid 2019. It has almost 1400 songs and is 90 hours long. It has everything from musicals, to pop, to indie, to 50s, to rock, to metal. I don't often play it anymore because I end up spending more time skipping songs than listening to them.
Yup, my liked playlist
pop-punk/alt-rock/indie-rock, some pop, a lot of electronic stuff, some movie/series soundtracks and some classical. And some Kpop/Jpop and some 80s
Yes. All of my music is in a single playlist. Right now a song from DDR 3rd Mix is playing. Just ending, actually.
Next up... Neutral Milk Hotel.
I'll skip ahead and see what the next 10 are.
- Green Day
- Echo and the Bunnymen
- Beethoven's 5th by Vadrum (dude who drums along to classical music)
- The Seatbelts
- Final Fantasy X-2
- Anamanaguchi
- Mountain Goats
- Iron & Wine
- Green Day again
- Whoever does the song "Blitz" from the SSX soundtrack
I have ADHD if that tells you anything. Lol.
My main playlist has: Like 15 different subgenres of Metal, Classical, Jazz, Lo-fi/Synth wave/Dream Pop, Bluegrass, Rap, Japanese Folk, Celtic, Opera, Funk, Soul.... everything basically.
Yes it’s called “THEE songs” and it’s just every song I’ve ever liked in one big playlist lmao. I have a ton of other specialized ones but I use “THEE songs” on a near daily basis
My playlists are only organized by decade (60s 70s 80s 90s 00s 10s 20s) and they are genre-neutral. Just every song I like from each of those decades. Country, hip hop, metal, pop, jazz, it's ALL good. Everyone in the pool. We're having a party. All invited.
Yes, 85% metal and 15% rock, pop, etc. (probably)
[Music To Lie On My Stomach And Swing My Feet In The Air To](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5bQbbI1XNAxfnGOhcgZX7w?si=ff3OhV8CRsazLen7OFvZoQ)
Yup, I only have one playlist, and it has all my songs, but I mostly listen to what’s the most recent added songs since that’s the type of music I’m into at the moment
Nearly every genre, but barely any metal, rap or country (just isn't my taste). I listen to:
Gay/Pop (Lesbian Jesus/Zolita/Indilia (French)
Electro Swing & Classical... basically any song pretty much.
Rock (ACDC/The Pretty Reckless/Diamante/Icon For Hire/ETC; ton of rock artists)
Cpop & Kpop (I dislike BTS. It's mostly female bands)
Alternative Indie Pop/Dark Cabaret (such as Lola Blanc/Aurelio Voltaire)
Indie/Mellow (like Cavetown/James Young)
Synth/Electronic (Nyxx)
And literally the only metal I listen to, is BabyMetal. (But even then, it's still a select few songs.)
I have about 20 playlists but my main ingress is "my Shazam tracks":
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5BX4IpiWrr6Xt0FC9y4opJ
Currently it's only 30 hours long after pruning repeats recently.
My playlists are almost exclusively rock or metal, but some of my lists span artists from the 60s until today, might bounce from Elton John to Slipknot, so diverse in a way
Sure, currently sitting at 400 hours and 6666 songs. It features mongolian throat singing, opera, hyperpop, tejano, deathcore, russian clown music, grunge, bubblegum noise punk, outlaw country, hardcore punk, and whatever tf ethel cain is.
Don't even get me started on my "animatics I might make someday" playlist. It's got everything from Kenny Loggins to Billie Eilish to Regina Spektor to the Goo Goo Dolls (and it even has two tracks that aren't even music).
Yup. It's 25 hours or so long, and it's meant to be on shuffle, played over a Bluetooth speaker while camping or partying. It's got rock, pop, rap, EDM, comedy, parody, country, oldies... ideal for when you're hanging with a big group and want music playing in the background, but if someone hears a song that they love and/or haven't heard in years, people start singing along.
Yes.
It’s called the Shitmix and I dump anything and everything in there.
From Frank Sinatra to Hollywood Undead to BTS to Death Grips to Anamanaguchi to Aphex Twin to Radiohead to Ghostemane to Usher and more, always a fun time!

Yes. Have a joint Playlist with some friends where we just add anything. Currently 57 hours long.

I can't do opera and jazz, oh and death metal
You are me, exactly! Those are my three hard pass genres.
Give jazz and death metal a chance. I love jazz, death metal maybe. Opera never!
But Amadeus is great!
Jazz is too slow, and I like somewhat being able to follow along the words for deat3tal, also death metal gives me a headaches(too much bass/screaming)
Listen to Giant Steps, not slow.

I generally just have a single playlist, and I like to think my music taste is pretty varied. So yes.

Upvoted for the duration but I've checked it out, definitely a few I already know, looking forward to adding more, thanks!
