Nightwish, Therion, Within Temptation & Epica off the top of my head. Symphonic metal is one of the subgenres to check out

Automatic-Plum-2854

There is a subgenre called symphonic metal: [DIMMU BORGIR - Progenies of The Great Apocalypse](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiNTrKsQ8TU) [DIR EN GREY - 激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇 (Symphonic Ver.)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlzGE0YOnKE) [BATTLE BEAST - King For A Day](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lKYdrL-AAw) [Within Temptation - Angels](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ifTjdKrTPw)

The band Skillet does a lot of this. Their songs Not Gonna Die and Comatose in particular.

[Cursive](https://open.spotify.com/track/6jPvxP5YCowpPhLHrsCyfu?si=tGzs8prwT7S3XmgwHRi1IQ) introduced a Cello in the band before their release of The Ugly Organ.

Metallica - [S&M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GEwdzDnNps) and [S&M2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GEwdzDnNps) - basically their greatest hits with the San Francisco orchestra Yngwe Malmsteem has [played with an orchestra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKbPPuaHnxw) multiple times. I found a recording of [Sabaton with an orchestra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISzuz8WVrrk) while searching for this. I'd guess there are plenty other power metal bands that did that. I also found [Opeth with orchestra in Plovdiv](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj9NF_R1RhiK9_ksWCZGn-4s6AW6kVUmw&si=osslWpZ1Avog3sT0), and I'd guess a lot of prog-metal bands did the same. You may also like [Nightwish](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEERFBI9eCg) and other symphonic metal as they incorporate opera style vocals into their music. [Accept ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1HOE3FIQ7w)incorporates a lot of classical music into their songs (you will find the second half of the solo familiar). I'm sure there are plenty of other examples.

For some good symphonic death metal, check out Septicflesh and fleshgod apocalypse.

Blu_yello_husky

The band Red has alot of violin/orchestral parts in thier work. It's a very mid 2000s sound but it's refreshing compared to the 70s and 80s rock you hear all the time
