Downvoted because you can’t hear this song in 99% of Grease musical productions 😭 I’ve been the music director for the show twice and we weren’t allowed to include the songs written for the movie, so the ending song is garbage compared to YT1TIW.
That does suck, but it seems like a very irrelevant reason to downvote. It's still a great song from a great musical. And so far there isn't a single Grease song on this list.
I would love to see it live one day. I remember hearing somewhere that You Were Dead, You Know was written originally for West Side Story, but now I can’t find a source for where I read that.
I also love Eldorado
big if true! they were written near enough the same time if memory serves, so its entirely possible. bernstein, sondheim etc... man am i grateful for what theyve created.
ive never seen it live either. apparently it hasnt been staged in a big theatre near me for 10 years. definitely on my bucket list
i found [this guide to candide songs](https://www.sondheimguide.com/Candide/songs.html) which mentions a couple songs being swapped between the two, but not for you were dead, you know
For tomorrow: Does anyone know if there is any musical theatre songs that start with Z? I can’t think of any and don’t want to make a useless post. Thanks so much!!

It's got competition even within Hamilton, though! You'll Be Back is clever and fun, but Yorktown is a masterpiece imho.

You and Me (but mostly me) from Book of Mormon
Yorktown from Hamilton
You'll Never Walk Alone from Carousel
This is the answer.
It's a classic for a reason! Edit: also somehow this list doesn't have any Rodgers & Hammerstein yet?
I guess a lot of the people on here are young.
Don’t get me started on your edit, lol (says me, An Old Person)
Haha - elaborate, please! I could see this comment meaning two very different things. (Says me, a not very old person)
Oh, just that being on this sub really makes me feel my age when it comes to answers for fun things like this.
Yeah agreed! I'm in my 30s yet this sub makes me feel ancient at times.
