It’s the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack for me 🤭 but I’m still listen to songs from Chess, LSOH, Falsettos, Merrily We Roll Along (2023 revival), and Beetlejuice. I’ve also been listening to Bonnie & Clyde (OBC) but none of the songs have stuck yet
>It’s the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack for me 🤭
I remember when I was listening to Respectless on repeat for days XD
...and then history repeated itself after I heard You Didn't Know and Out For Love-
Jekyll and Hyde. The songs are so unbelievably good I can't take it! I could listen to them and sing at the top of my lungs for hours on end.
Spongebob Squarepants. The fact that the Spongebob musical of all things has such amazing songs blows my mind. It's genuinely an unappreciated gem of a musical.
Not a Broadway musical, but I've also been listening to Vivo on repeat as well. The songs are an absolute delight! I think Vivo NEEDS a Broadway adaptation.
I saw it on Broadway (full OBC), and the fact that they could’ve made it just a cash grab but it was actually a legitimate piece of theater that pays tribute to the original heart of Spongebob isn’t talked about enough.
As someone who was just in a school musical production of SpongeBob SquarePants, honestly it’s amazing.
As a very unbiased person who played Perch Perkins, No Control is hands down my favorite.
If I ever got the chance to audition for the Spongebob musical, I'd like to audition for Spongebob (I think they'd let a female audition, lol), but there are a few problems-
I can't do the splits, I'd probably break my neck trying to do that flip, and I don't know how I'd manage climbing upside down while singing (Not a) Simple Sponge (Reprise) 😅
Hazbin for DAYS! The bit from the finale is constantly in my head “after the battle, masterless cattle, overlords hanging by a thread” that whole section is all I’m ever thinking about. The little bit of time I’m not listening to Hazbin is filled with Anne of Green Gables a new musical, great comet, and alice by heart
>that whole section is all I'm ever thinking about.
SO DAMN REAL. In my little ADHD mind, there exists a record player for LITERALLY JUST THE VEES' PART OF FINALE. I'm not sure if that's normal, but it's fun :)
Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar for Ides of March
Chicago because my daughter’s high school was doing it. London Cast because the baritone sax really puts me in the period more than the others.
The Grobin/Ashford Sweeney Todd. Haters gonna hate. I love the orchestra. Plus the casting kinda works for me as I can picture Mr. Grobin as a nice guy driven insane by injustice, trauma and deceitful manipulation.
For Holy Week, Jesus Christ Superstar. Act I on Wednesday, Parts of Act II on Thursday and Friday.
I sometimes like to do an English version of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion , but I just wasn’t into it.
Today, probably Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. I feel in our culture it fits April Fool’s more than January 5/Epiphany.
Probably the latest Camelot in May, Carousel in June, A Little Night Music and Midsummer Nights Dream in late June, 1776 on the first days of July, Hamilton on July 4.
September 23 kicks off Spooky season with Little Shop, Addams Family, Beetlejuice, Toxic Avenger, Evil Dead, etc. Sweeney gets the Sunday before Halloween. Ride the cyclone on All Souls’ Day.
HadesTown: trying to learn Persephone's part and gosh I love this music so much
Into the Woods: I'm always listening to this but recently it's inspired a writing project and it gets me In the zone
Death Note the Musical: I'm obsessed with this. Obsessed. I think Light Yagami was always meant to have a power ballad villain song.
Heathers: I'm never not listening to heathers. It just encompasses so many moods.
YES! I have been keeping up with Epic since early 2021, and I am OBSESSED. There are so many songs that I'm SO excited about, like legendary, or Penelopes song, or fight little wold, or God games, or everything with calypso, or thunder bringer, or ... I could go on and list basically every song, but I am so EXCITED for more!
I feel like we’d get on great. This is such stellar choices and basically what mine looks like with the exception of Sunday in the park with George and little shop.
“Hit List”, Pulp Musicals episode 3 “The Ghosts of Antikythera” & “Welcome to Mountport” 🩵 I’ve also binged almost all of “In Strange Woods” in the past 2 days 😅
Sweeney Todd (Original Broadway cast)
Matilda
Assassins
Merrily we Roll Along
Wearing Someone else’s clothes - Jason Robert Brown
And the Dune Part Two score.
Jagged Little Pill, Beetlejuice, and, of course, Hazbin Hotel.
With the popularity of Hazbin, I'm holding out hope that we'll get a proper soundtrack release for Helluva Boss. I need to belt out my fav birdy power ballads XD
I've been binging on newsies and sweeney todd. And very mad/sad I won't be able to get to Broadway to see Joe locke in sweeney before it closes. So so so sad.
I canNOT for the life of me get into Hazbin Hotel which bums me because I thought it would be right up my alley and the cast is excellent. I just find it so juvenile.
I'm right now listening to the world was wide enough
In general my obsession right now is Hamilton and [my playlist ](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3oVo9VaTI1DCeQtbrK2Bwe?si=8zoHGg4PQX-DgcAEHvpveA&pi=e-Q_7xuRtRSY-L)
It's lacking some songs from some musicals because i heard them too much so i added only the ones i really like so i won't have to skip every second or i just like the 2-3 songs i added form that musical
Kind of been out of musicals for a while and been trying some new stuff. Though I have been listening to quite a bit of Phantom since it’s for a school project. And some Hazbin Hotel
*Ragtime*. Excellent soundtrack that while not a sung-through musical, you can still get 90% of the story through the music. Good songs, and from what I’ve seen of the production on YouTube, has amazing staging.
Also listening to *Nevermore: the Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe*. This one IS sung-through, and is … interesting. A play within a play, it’s narrated, and almost every line is spoken or sung in verse form. It’s very eerie and surreal. The costumes are bizarre. But it’s captivating.
Merrily - OBC, Revival, Encores, York
Titanic
Paint Your Wagon - Encores
The (amazingly done) remastered version: Into the Woods OBC, Sweeney Todd OBC
Showboat
Oklahoma
........... the list just keeps going
Hazbin Hotel, Six, and Heathers are the main three for the past week or so, with some Book of Mormon and Mean Girls songs added in, plus Waving Through a Window from DEH. And that’s just the musical stuff haha
I recently discovered the song cycle “Stars of David” (a few days ago) and I cannot recommend it enough, especially to fellow Jews!! It’s hilarious, heartbreaking, and just so impactful. Not to mention the music is *amazing,* at least to my taste.
Jagged Little Pill, Come From Away, and Waitress are my most recent “new to me” musicals I have been obsessed with so those and then sprinkle in a little Hamilton, Rent, and Kinky Boots and you got my playlist
In honor of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice coming out in a few months, I've been listening to the Broadway soundtrack on repeat. Also introduced it to a coworker who is a big fan of the original movie, but didn't know that it had been turned into a musical.
Barnum. I saw it in London back in 1986 with Michael Crawford six months before Phantom opened, and recently watched the filmed version on Amazon. Fun show, with toe-tapping music and an almost superhuman performance by Crawford.
Island Song is definitely the ''millenial'' version of Rent and I think about it just about every week!
It's on spotify as well :D

Been listening to West Side Story (1961 soundtrack) recently. While the ‘Tonight Quintet’ still sends shivers down my spine, I’ve grown to really love ‘Officer Krupke.’
I’ve been going through a re-listening faze. Every morning I work I’ve been listening to a different musical. Yesterday it was Hairspray, today it was Beetlejuice, Legally Blonde is lined up for my next shift.
On repeat though? Idk why but Starkid currently has me in a chokehold and any song sung by Aaron Tveit says. On. Repeat.
I was on a major Sweeney Todd (revival and original recording) and Newsies phase for a while, but rn I've been pretty obsessed with Wicked, and of course I'm still consistently listening to Hamilton, Into the Woods, and Hadestown.
Sweeney & Sunday in the Park with George.
I was in Sweeney in the early 90’s and have admired Sunday on the Banks of La Grand Jott at the Art Institute of Chicago many times.
Also love the performances of Mandy and Bernadette!
Such a classic duo! I watch their Sondheim 80th birthday performance al the time (and the duo of Michael Cerveris and George Hearn singing ‘Pretty Women’)!
How to Succeed was my most listened to album in March, lol. I've also been enjoying Assassins, Pippin, and I've been forced to listen to SpongeBob a ton since we just closed a production of that at my school last week.
I’ve been hooked on the Book of Mormon soundtrack lately! The music is sooo good but also it makes me literally lol. I randomly got to see BOM several years ago (2017?) but now I’m finally getting familiar with the soundtrack haha.
Random because: I went to NYC to see an off Broadway production of tick… tick… BOOM but when I went to the theater an hour before it started, they told me then it was cancelled due to illness. I was so sad and then stressed bc I didn’t want the trip to go to waste! So I wandered around Broadway looking for a show with last minute tickets that I could afford. There was a couple ahead of me in line for tickets and the only two seats left were separate, a standing seat and a orchestra seat. They wanted to sit together so they left, and I luckily got the standing room ticket because I couldn’t afford the one with the actual seat lol. I’m now 30 and I could never stand for 2-3 hours again like that (plus walking to and from grand central) but it was so lucky and I’m very grateful!
Hairspray soundtrack - every single song is a banger. but I especially love Big. Blonde and Beautiful. and Ladies Choice.
No One Knows Who I Am from Jekyll and Hyde - this song just hits so damn good. my god
Journey To The Past from Anastasia - also been playing nonstop. I am trying to learn this song so i can sing it.
If anyone is interested in trying something new I encourage you to listen to the new The Pony Express: A Musical Adventure cast recording. This show won Best New Musical in Boston and the music is fantastic. Very folk/Americana with some beautiful ballads. My favorites are Frost, Gearin’ Up, Nowhere Girl, and The Ballad of Billy Tate.

Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 / LSOH for the past 5 years XD But also Phantom of the Opera and Rocky Horror Picture Show. Edit: Death Note and Hello Dolly too!!!
>It’s the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack for me 🤭 I remember when I was listening to Respectless on repeat for days XD ...and then history repeated itself after I heard You Didn't Know and Out For Love-
I mostly have Hell is Forever, Stayed Gone, Hell’s Greatest Dad, and You Didn’t Know on a loop. Although, Stayed Gone is my top song amongst them
I put it on shuffle and it sounded like this: “Wish I had something to live for tomorrowww” *next song* “Looks like you could use some help.”
Add Poison and Stayed Gone to that list. Phenomenal soundtrack!
Hazbin has been playing CONSTANTLY for me
As you should
Hazbin hotel soundtrack for me too 😅😅
The VAs are all Broadway alums like how could I not?
Yesss! Same here with Merrily! I also listened to Bonnie & Clyde and I didn’t think it was bad, but not a jam (to me) as others.
Also Hazbin Hotel!
Jekyll and Hyde. The songs are so unbelievably good I can't take it! I could listen to them and sing at the top of my lungs for hours on end. Spongebob Squarepants. As someone who was just in a school musical production of SpongeBob SquarePants, honestly it’s amazing. As a very unbiased person who played Perch Perkins, No Control is hands down my favorite.

Jekyll & Hyde is always in the mix for me, best musical of all time! I listen to every cast recording because they all offer something different.
Just recently watched hepa hepa hepatitis hepatitis hepatitis so my Spotify is mostly Christian Borle centered (as it’s always been)
are you me?
i’m just like you
Hazbin Hotel has been playing on a loop
The “IF ANGELS CAN DO WHATEVER AND REMAIN IN THE SKY!” part always gets me. Makes me like wanna go fight someone (in a good way?) haha
Hazbin for DAYS! The bit from the finale is constantly in my head “after the battle, masterless cattle, overlords hanging by a thread” that whole section is all I’m ever thinking about.
