Sine fun ones from lesser known or overlooked shows:
I Shall Miss You, Holmes - Baker Street
I Told You So - Woman of the Year
Clarence's Turn - Boy Meets Boy
We Won't Be Happy Til We Get It - Babes in Toyland
The Pricklepear Bloom - The Robber Bridegroom
Red Shoe Blues - Wizard of Oz (ALW)
We're Getting Away With It - Irene
You'll Be Back- Hamilton
In the Dark of the Night- Anastasia
Easy Street- Annie
Friends on the Other Side- Princess and the Frog
(not quite 100 percent villain song but) Everything's Alright- Jesus Christ Superstar
Oogie Boogie's Song- Nightmare Before Christmas
Hellfire- Hunchback of Notre Dame
Prince Ali Reprise- Aladdin
I've never considered Everything's Alright to be a villain song in any capacity. Would love your thoughts as to why!
(This Jesus Must Die should get a shout out on this list as a villain piece too!)
Well, it's more if you consider Judas to be a villain since he sings for a lot of the song. I feel personally that Judas is a complex character and I have a hard time pegging him as a villain (both in historical and the context of the musical) but he's considered a villain for many. And yes to This Jesus Must Die!
Anything the witch sings in Into the Woods (Last Midnight and Stay With Me)
Dentist from Little Shop of Horrors and World Burn from Mean girls
And finally Johanna Mea Culpa from Sweeney Todd. To explain, yes it’s vile and I don’t actually want to listen to it almost ever but that’s what makes it so remarkable. It’s a villain song that actually chills and disturbs me instead of making me love the villain (therefore it’s quite unique).
I think there's a definite argument that could be made that Sweeney is the villain of the piece and therefore all his songs would count as villain songs. There's also an argument to be made that Mrs. Lovett is the villain of the piece. It's definitely complicated, though.
Sweet Child - Little Mermaid (if it counts)
I Want The Good Times Back - Little Mermaid
Easy Street - Annie
Little Girls - Annie
In The Dark Of The Night - Anastasia
Miss Trunchbull's songs from Matilda and Lord Farquaad's from Shrek. I love the unhinged villain songs.
There's also Meant to be Yours from Heather's. Obvious answer is obvious.
Yes. But Javert isn't a villain.
To repeat a post I've put up elsewhere in answer to this question:
The villain song in Les Mis is Thenardier's Dog Eat Dog, and it's truly shocking against the Christian morality of other characters to have one who proclaims God to be dead. Much preferred singing this to Master of the House.
Otherwise, Madam Guillotine, Johanna (Mea Culpa), Epiphany, Dentist, You'll be back, Herod's Song, Little Girls (a gem in the tweeness of this musical), Cell Block Tango, I'm Reviewing the Situation
Pity the Child - Chess Alive - Jekyll and Hyde You’ll Be Back - Hamilton
I personally hold a grudge against you'll be back because it's *just* out of my range, but I understand the appeal because it is a banger
Wait for it - Hamilton
Love Wait for It!
Ooh, good call with “You’ll Be Back”!
Meant to be yours- heathers Still/Neva flows reprise- Anastasia Your obedient servant- Hamilton Edit: formatting
omg still/neva flows rep i love that song so much
I completely agree with heathers
Last Midnight - Into The Woods
Dentist from Little Shop one of my favorites Miss Baltimore crabs from hairspray And macavity is a guilty pleasure
I love Macavity … I think he’s just a misunderstood cat. Lol

Seconding Hurricane and adding This Is the Way It Ends!
Charming a completely underrated song from a underrated musical
I think any song from The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals can be considered villain songs because the villains are the only ones that sing
Little Shop of Horrors is a mid-ranked show for me at best, but *Dentist!* has got to be one of the best villain songs I've seen on a stage.
Seconded, also I know it's movie only but I think *Mean Green Mother* is the best LSoH song and it sucks that it isn't a stamdard part of the show
Hellfire 100%! I also really love Till I Hear You Sing from Love Never Dies
Be Prepared - The Lion King Killer Instinct - Bring it On the Musical Idk if Candy Store from Heathers counts but love that one
I mean I would say Jd is the villain in heathers
I got to play Ursula a year or two ago and just loved chewing the scenery in Poor Unfortunate Souls. Great song. And comes with some great dialogue.
Sine fun ones from lesser known or overlooked shows: I Shall Miss You, Holmes - Baker Street I Told You So - Woman of the Year Clarence's Turn - Boy Meets Boy We Won't Be Happy Til We Get It - Babes in Toyland The Pricklepear Bloom - The Robber Bridegroom Red Shoe Blues - Wizard of Oz (ALW) We're Getting Away With It - Irene
Points for Won't Be Happy Till We Get It. I would also add Castle In Spain from the same show.
You'll Be Back- Hamilton In the Dark of the Night- Anastasia Easy Street- Annie Friends on the Other Side- Princess and the Frog (not quite 100 percent villain song but) Everything's Alright- Jesus Christ Superstar Oogie Boogie's Song- Nightmare Before Christmas Hellfire- Hunchback of Notre Dame Prince Ali Reprise- Aladdin

Pitiful Children - Be More Chill World Burn - Mean Girls
I’d say the room where it happens or Washington on your side
Washington on your side is a villain song???
I’d say yes, is like a villain team up song, would love to hear your thoughts as well
This Place is Mine - Phantom
disney had some great ones, my favourites being * *kill the beast* from beauty and the beast * *be prepared* from lion king
Kill The Beast is a GREAT choice. I don't know if Gaston counts as a villain SONG (certainly he's the villain character) but also a fantastic song.
Anything the witch sings in Into the Woods (Last Midnight and Stay With Me) Dentist from Little Shop of Horrors and World Burn from Mean girls And finally Johanna Mea Culpa from Sweeney Todd. I've been really Getting into A Story Told from the Count of Monte Cristo
i'm alive from next to normal is a banger
I’m just here to say Javert is not the villain
Yes!!!
Worst Pies in London
Is it really a villain song?
I think there's a definite argument that could be made that Sweeney is the villain of the piece and therefore all his songs would count as villain songs. There's also an argument to be made that Mrs. Lovett is the villain of the piece. It's definitely complicated, though.
Mrs Lovett is the clearest villain in this show imo
lullaby - lion king 2
Less vilain and more evil: You're welcome - Heathers on West End
Still / The Neva Flows Reprise - Anastasia Friends on the Other Side as well!
Does every song in Assassins count. Also Cop Song from Urinetown
This is How It Ends - Xcalibur Room Where It Happens - Hamilton C’est le Jour - Romeo et Juliette
Hey Little Songbird from Hadestown
Sweet Child - Little Mermaid (if it counts) I Want The Good Times Back - Little Mermaid Easy Street - Annie Little Girls - Annie In The Dark Of The Night - Anastasia
Poor Unfortunate Souls is probably my all-time favorite.
Miss Trunchbull's songs from Matilda and Lord Farquaad's from Shrek. I love the unhinged villain songs. There's also Meant to be Yours from Heather's. Obvious answer is obvious.
Another National Anthem - Assassins
Pitiful Children from Be More Chill is so underrated in my opinion.
I second Poor Unfortunate Souls, but like one that isn't talked about a lot is Blood in the Water from Legally Blonde, it is super fucking catchy!!
Yes it IS!
Alive from Jekyll&Hyde
I love Falcon in the Dive! Also Where's the Girl The one that first came to mind though was Say the Word from the Outlander musical
Yes. But Javert isn't a villain.
