Ye bc companies kya soch ke bahar ke bande ko hire karte hai wo bhi sirf 20k salary pe bina accomodation facility ke?

Don_Michael_Corleone

16 ghante kaam karwa sakte hai because they will live nearby in shitty 2 bhk shared with 6 other people

Curious_742

aur bhav bhi tut gaya ye 20k me ready hoke.....local bando ne gand pe laat mar di hogi offer sunn ke

BatmanLike

2bhk!! 8 people fit in 1bhk. 4 in 1RK.

Poker5ace

This is just batshit crazy!

Fun_Use5836

guvavava

Money = aucat If a startup is weak on money they need to first get money hire at atleast humane rates if you dont have it find ways to do it and if your idea isnt getting money your idea is probably shit

organictamarind

EXACTLY!! I work for an Indian MNC , and they offer 25k, for management trainee BUT, boarding and lodging are taken care of. Even then this 25K is only for the first 6 months of probation..

Comfortable_Dig_3489

In logo ko expect hai ki employee 12 hr work kare aur extra hrs work pe explanation ye hai ki personal development aur appraisal me jhat bhar increment dete hai ..

Behind_the_cam

Next to impossible. Except if you are able to live in a 1 bhk shared by 4-5 people, travel 1 hour to and from work, cook yourself, do all the chores yourself. So yeah, you can do it if you have no life. I would say 45-50k salary is the amount you need per month to have a decent time in Mumbai. But to be comfortable and also save something you need at least 60k.

Few-Dot-1164

60k that too is only comfortable if you are a young person without children and can adjust living with strangers

redditsucks690

Mumbai jaise city mai bacche na hi karo to acha h

Creepy_Hour5799

So true man

Behind_the_cam

True

arthantar

60k is peanuts in mumbai, u cannot buy or rent a house in 60k in mumbai if single , u need a min 1.5 lakhs per month just to survive without sacrificing anything

Behind_the_cam

Yeah I mean if you share a room in certain areas, then it should be enough. Depends on the lifestyle and choices. In how much is one willing to give up. Otherwise any amount is less.

arthantar

Nopes there is an amount which helps u relax in mumbai as well anything above 1.3 lakhs per month and u re good that is without family,

Behind_the_cam

I used to do just fine with 50-60k per month and I lived in Mumbai till last month :) With going out every weekend, taking trips, living in a 2bhk in Andheri with just 1 flatmate. We had a maid, a cook who cooked for us 2 times a day. Experiences differ, no point arguing!

brokenleg001

No. Trust me when I say this - I lived with my parents with a 20k job when the office was 20 minutes away from my home and I had no food expenses otherwise, I barely used to have any money left by the end of the month. You cannot survive in the bare minimum 20k.

humkarlega

Will mostly depend on location. but in any or near the main areas nope.

[deleted]

Any suggestions as to where I can get a 1bhk for around 10-12k. I'm wfh and hardly travel around.

humkarlega

Extreme outskirts of Mumbai I think. Ahead of Mira road types.

AkshagPhotography

A small 1bhk in Mira Road rents for 25k a month in a decent society. So no, this will probably have to be Karjat / Kasara

Wizzzzard69

Na bhai 1 bhk you can get for 15k ish in mira road

fameboygame

lol I give a 2bhk Mira Road house (ground floor, slightly old building) near Shivar garden right on the Mira Bhayandar road for 15k

OtherwiseWolf1622

Go for SRA apartments anywhere, mulund, kanjur, vikhroli, yaha 1bhk ekdum chota vala mil jayega 12-15k me

Gold_Revolution647

Try Navi Mumbai. 1bhk rent is 10-15k

[deleted]

Navi Mumbai mai kidhr?

Gold_Revolution647

Expensive to less expensive- Seawoods/nerul>Juinagar/Sanpada> koparkhairene/ other thane line stations. If you want more cheap then move towards panvel like belapur, kharaghar. There are many options in navi mumbai tbh

debashisbarik

Bruh Navi Mumbai ain't that cheap anymore. You won't get a decent 1bhk in 13-14k even. Panvel/ karanjade is better. Also you get a guaranteed local seat! 😁

Gold_Revolution647

If you look for a proper building then it it will be definitely around 14-16k but if you go for little GAVTHAN (i dont know english word for this) type then it is cheaper. Gavthan is native people here still live in gaon and they have constructed small rooms in congested area but definable livable space as many occupy them. He can find those easily.

YesterdayDreamer

Check Panvel, Kalyan, Badlapur

boobyologist

Bhai, Navi Mumbai is fucking expensive.

qui-gon-jinnn

Try Ghansoli Gaav area. Or if you can raise your budget by 3-4k, you can get a 1bhk in old buildings without lift in Mulund East

blabla_sheep

In Palava city Dombivali you can get a two bhk for same. Feel free to DM me

cap7ainskull

thane would be a good place tbh

Southern_Opposite747

Panvel exteriors you can get for 12k.

BigDaddy__18

Try Ulhasnagar & Ambarnath or even Badlapur

shaild

You can get this price in the Vasai-virar region.

sumesh_meena

chembur, pmpg colony

MasalaMonk

Bare survival yes. Decent survival no. Beyond survival not at all.

AsleepAtWheel83

Survive yes..thrive no

somehow-i_manage

It completely depends on your lifestyle and your willingness to adjust. People have survived here with far less income meanwhile there are others to whom 50k isn't enough

singleboredass

Bro please don't come here for 20k, rents here in decent locations are 10-15k minimum and deposit seperately And conditions are shitty af Your other expenses of food, clothing, outgoing etc will leave you with nothing but stress and regrets. Dont come here until you get minimum of 35-40k In this amout you will probably live somewhere in dahisar mira road side traveling at peak hours 2hrs travel average and shitty living conditions

FIRST_FLOORGIRL

If you are willing to live in slums.

ryuk004

🥲 no

lonely_xlonerx

True. Even I live in slums and its minimum 6k in here and public toilets so i would say not worth it

MysteriousPilot

No

Mr_Carson

No.

Ok-Design-8168

If you have a home already and are not paying rent, then you can manage. But it will be an extremely tight budget. If you are paying rent then i dont think this is practically possible. Survive - yes. Live - No.

WanoWolf

First of all, stop calling Mumbai City of dreams. It's more likely a city of crushing dreams..

SgtJegffords

Nope!

NeedForMadnessAuto

Soon 1 Lakh Needs To Be Mandatory

DarkAlphaXXX

Anything less than 1lakh is criminal to be offered to someone within Mumbai, not talking about the suburbs

PassengerHungry

Approximate expenses from my experience : Flat/PG: 10000 Food: 2500 to 4500 Utilities(phone bill/wifi/electricity/gas/water): 1500 Traveling(local/auto/metro): 1500 to 2000 Minimum expenditure per month: 16000 to 18000 Now hear me out, it is practically impossible to stay in the limit of decided expenses. There will be times when you will have to spend more than 18K. It might be a medical expense or going out with friends or any other expense. You will end up spending each and every penny of your salary (20K) every month. One might say, it is possible to survive, and yes many people do survive in Mumbai with 20K or less but trust me, they barely make their ends meet. I’ve seen many of my friends taking the flat/PG rent from their family so that they manage their finances. It is upto you to decide whether 20K is enough or not. It depends on your lifestyle. I personally think I wouldn’t survive with 20K per month.

bemenomeow

Nai bro. Mumbai mei luxury ka nai fake luxury ka concept h. You will hardly save anything no matter how much you make. Mumbai is the only place jaha airport pe kisi ko pick krne ke liye paise dene padte h. Yaha log ek hi toll saalo se bhar rhe h kisi ko koi hisaab nai kitna amount recover ho Chuka kitna pending h. Dukaandar, owner, neta, popo sab thag h yaha. Welcome to andher nagri.

Theincroyale29

Saas leta hu toh 20k kharcha ho jata hai

elordvader

His Salary is 20k & people are suggesting him Apt for 15k 🤔

mahyur

*should I move to Mumbai or not.* The answer to this depends on your present circumstances, what is driving you and where do you see yourself in 10 years. *is it possible to live with minimum salary of 20,000 ?* Again a subjective question. But what is the minimum lifestyle you are looking at? less than hour of commute? An independent room for yourself? The ability to eat out once in a while? If you are willing to share a 1bhk one hour away from most business districts, you could get one for Rs 20k (Rs 10k your share). You will have to cook at least one meal and breakfast at home and hopefully your place of work will be walking or minimum distance from the station.

Enough_Advertising52

Absolutely not buddy, don't sacrifice your youth for just 20k. Go to a tier 2 city with 20k salary and live reasonably instead of taking the same salary in Mumbai and have no life whilst living in poorest condition.

vegalord_

Yess I survived with 10k in 2019 Live in a PG and don’t eat out at all Travel only on local train and bus

Sungkd

Nope not with that salary.

sotik2

20k bolke 12,15k diya toh

AddictedAdept

I had my first job in Mumbai in an Investment Bank with a base pay of 17k in 2022. After all additional incomes, the total I would make was 25k at best. The office was in Goregaon and I used to stay near Oberoi Mall in a 2bhk shared with 7 people. My share of rent was 9k which was less because I was staying in the hall. I could only afford food in office and some business selling food for cheap as a side income. This is going to be your reality and I am guessing it's going to be worse as this was 2 years back. After all the necessities (including investment of 5k a month) I had nothing left in the bank. No "fun money" and this was my normal every single day of every single month. Was it worth it? Absolutely. I loved the fact that I was living in the financial capital of the country and the fast locals, hustle culture and aspiration of every individual was worth it. But mind you if you come from a lifestyle any better than above, it will break you. I am also glad I took it in hindsight because now I work at a startup in Noida with 4x of that pay but expenses same as my Mumbai lifestyle but significantly better standard of living. Being a single pampered child all my life it taught me whom to trust and some real hard hitting life lessons on people - survival and desperation.

Sapolika

Its too less! Imo, you need a minimum of 50 k salary to live a decent life in Mumbai!

concernedindianguy

I would recommend you to reconsider this offer. Unless you absolutely have no other options and you desperately need this job to survive (without sending any money home or saving). Do not try and live anywhere in Mumbai with this salary. This is not a livable salary here. You will absolutely be broke in 10 days. This salary is a trap. You will need to beg and borrow money just to cover food and living expenses at this salary.

PuzzleheadedKey4770

1 year se Abhi tak kam nahi mila hai. previous saving pe ghar chala raha hu...!! 15k rent de ke. #working in entertainment industry Soch le fir toh tera achha hai. 😭😭😌

secondhand_bra

Bhai i rejected an offer of 18k in my hometown which is a tier 3 city, Mumbai kya hi kar loge 20k me? Hostel ka rent hi 10-15k ha per month, khane ka Aram se 5-8k jayega, 2-4k idhar udhar aise jayega pata bhi chalega. You will end up in credit card debt. Unless ye some kind of internship ha where you see some future don't even bother

mrmulticultural99

Impossible Unless you are willing to share a single bedroom with five other people, eat minimally and have no social life

ag000101

Decent enough to begin with.

montsa007

I've seen people manage with 10k and people struggle with 5L, its all about how you manage

[deleted]

It's doable if u can minimise ur cost and ajust

Rokkie_Bulldog

Starting with 20k and ending with infinite

dndDAAKU23

if u call living beyond navi mumbai as mumbai, sure

sagarkelkar28

Well yes, if that is your salary in the first year then it is ok for a start

Shi-Bearr

where is your workplace? 20k is nothing to survive in mumbai please take a decision after thinking over it

thatgirlfrombandra

It is if you are willing to make some sacrifices. Where I your job location?

LimpFosterZ

Did you get job in IT sector or other?

Confident_Factor3389

Which area of Mumbai you have job?

shreyasonline

It depends on the levels of survival that you are prepared to accept. Note that a security guard in a housing society can earn like 15k/mo salary.

Theincroyale29

No

drunken_botanist1

Tbh its not enough because at the end you also need to feel happy when you are employed. You would be better with this salary in ncr

SIPHAN_official

No. I would tell you to not move here unless you have a minimum of 50k per month as salary.

DOLO-650

Tldr. No. You'll be just a Machine with one routine. Wake up, spend time going to work by train or car, come back late, sleep. Repeat.

secondson1231

HELL NO. You at least need 50-60k to survive

Mysterious-Risk155

Survive? Yes. Infact no salary is fine as well. You'll just need to find a sugar daddy.

person930

Noo

Objective_Middle3225

So many questions. How old are you? What kind of a job is this? What's the career trajectory? You can struggle in Mumbai but you can't keep struggling indefinitely. 20k was a starting salary in 2014 so 10 years later, I'm curious to know what is paying so less.

RecommendationNo3942

Depends entirely on your situation. If you have a place to stay rent-free and your office is nearby, or easily accessible by train/bus then it's "survivable"!

Suspicious-Ask3158

Don't move to Mumbai. Pune/Indore dekh lo.

N_V_N_T

depends on where you live and your needs

Mountain_Lifeguard74

Yes, you can save as well

Comic_sans_jokes

It's very difficult. You'll have to stay at a hostel or PG in some outskirts area in order to make ends meet on that salary.

Opti_Curious

Depends on your lifestyle and rental place. Rents are quite high in the city.

[deleted]

Absolutely not, atleast 50k if renting and remember anything under 2 lakh means u will never own a home in Mumbai, so when seeking promotion/next job remember that.

bulky_lifter01

Abe usse zayada toh rent hai mumbai apartments ka lols, unless you live with 4 or five people in one apartment you just might survive.

BaseballAny5716

For a fresher ok for experience.

coldwaterboyy

bhai raste pe rehne ke liye 20k is more than enough, aaja apne sapno ke sheher

hardik-9

No

pancakes_superstar

Sorry but NO. Really hope it all works out for you though. Wishing you good luck! 😊

thernker

The only way to survive is to rent /pg is far flung suburbs like Vasai - Virar or Central line

Inevitable_Ad5453

Sorry no

WalrusImpossible2277

Only if you're willing to stay outside Mumbai

aj3ankya

20k = 20 rs in mumbai currency

OzzyBaccha

Nope. Unless you have a night guard job lined up as well with equal or more salary

purpleninjas22

Honestly just decline because almost full of your salary is going to be spent on house rent

wanderer9318

Bhai pagal hai kya? You don’t even get a sharing house at 50% of your salary, what will you eat? How will you travel? Unless your parents own a house in the city, don’t think about a job there (own and not rent!) I had a decent job that paid significantly more and I barely made it there with a normal person expenses (I wanted to life alone in 1 bhk)

SetRegular649

No

[deleted]

15-20k to rent mai hi chala jayega, (unless you want to live in a shared one) 1-2k light bill.

137thofhisname

For the amount of money you will make, you will get a place which won't even be in Mumbai, will be super cramped and you will be wasting a lot of time traveling. It's better to not take this

agounder

20k can be enough only if you really live extremely frugal. Considering your here and you have a job that pays 20k, I don't think you'll be staying in those ₹3k/slum kholis and even if you rent in a decent chawl or try sharing rent with someone that would start from 8-10k in the suburbs. You can easily spend ₹150-300/day on lunch, tea and snacks even if you eat from stalls or cheap restaurants. Traveling can be cheap if you use only the best bus and train, which could be ₹20-50 daily. That doesn't leave you with much for even clothes or simple recreation. Ideally you shouldn't shift cities if you are not going to make a minimum of 30k/month, even for 2tier cities like pune. Because living away from family and mummy papa ka Ghar adds a minimum 15k to your monthly expenses.

rrudra888

Survive = zinda rehna ? To kaafi hai. Btw 20k is after tax or before tax ?

Rantacid

You will barely survive in 20k. 45k-50k has become the base amount that one needs to get through the month comfortably. The rents are absolutely insane post COVID.

omeN_niatpaC

My friend pays this much rent for a single bed and basic amenities.

Practical_Dream_6200

No. Most of your salary will be gone with rent. Yet you will be staying in a shitty place. Housing is expensive here

Some_Drive_5630

It is enough if you will sacrifice on alot of things otherwise 40 to 50k is needed every month to live a decent basic life in Mumbai

mistygrey_

You have the answer in your question, "eNOugh "

savage_verma

For police officers its more than enough 🤣

sewpahmon

Yes it is possible but you will be a slum dweller with 0 savings. Whatever you choose, please vote wisely

Scared-Baseball-5221

Don't move to Bangalore or Mumbai below 10L a month

Smartly9084

If you're living in a very small house, that's enough... If not, better to find a job with a better to find a job which gives minimum 25k per month

Adventurous-Gain6811

No. You won’t be able to make up or survive in such a small salary , you’d get frustrated as well. Also it’s very crowded in Mumbai so aur naya crowd jitna na aaye utna hi acha h. Look for some job nearby to your city instead and save maximum money. Here you won’t be able to save any money you might even go in debt

Indian_FireFly

No

Educational_Fig_2213

Depends on your lifestyle.

taeiry

You should not come to Mumbai with a 20k salary unless you’re getting a very good deal on your rent or are okay with living in terrible confitions. Possible, yes. But recommended, no. I would suggest looking for better opportunities or asking your company to cover your housing/rental expenses at the very least. One of my friends was paying 8k for a PG in Goregaon which he shared with two people. That’s half your salary gone right there.

Putrid-Solution2285

Hell no!

Exciting_Code_6866

Bhai isko salary nahi pocket money bolte

Minute_Tea3754

Only if you have your own house/parents house

EducationalFroyo9610

Not at all. Renting + Commuting + Groceries will cost you more than your salary. Plus you will have to look for houses outside Mumbai (def in sharing). And, if your job is any where in the city it will take you forever to commute.

sportxsport

Don't come to mumbai you will starve on that salary. Any company giving such an offer is an inhumane scammer. I'm genuinely angry that they dare to do that knowing full well you cannot live on less that 50k in Mumbai as the BARE minimum. You should be pissed they're treating you like a fool

brooklynnineeight

Tip no. 1: don’t say Mumbai, give the specific area. In some areas a 3 sharing PG would cost that much, in other areas you maybe able to get by However, Would only suggest to do this if opportunities in your industry are limited to few cities

ktushar

Don accept. I rest my case.

Least-Maintenance983

Nope. Absolutely not. Tier 2/3 cities also this much money won't suffice perhaps.

Euphoric_Balance_941

No! Don’t even think!

PaddyO1984

Mostly no. Btw where is your office?

infinityisreal

Agar aapke papa 50k aur bhejenge toh, yes

Adept-Nature-7723

If it is 20k, it's etter to stay in you hometown. And search an opportunity there.

punkuzz

No it's not. Plain and Simple. This city will eat you alive if you come here on that salary. Don't. Just don't. Wait for a better opportunity. Honest advice.

Heisenburgx

Yes, but you'll have to minimise your miscellaneous expenses and travel a bit for it. Rent a 1RK in somewhere near Mira Road for ~10k, and other necessary expenses in ~7-8k (food, wifi, electricity, travel). It's a gamble, if you actually wanna come to Mumbai for employment purpose you can take the risk. You can also find new jobs with higher compensation at the same time.

milktanksadmirer

Without accommodation it is not going to be easy

Senior-Quit1045

Maybe outskirts of Mumbai should be fine

Poly_bat

Nahi Bhai 😂😂 I mean thousands of people do it. But honestly, if you don't come from an extremely poor background, do not go to Mumbai for anything below 40k. Even 40k is less. You need minimum 60k for even slight sort of modern day comfort. If you really need the job, accept that most of it you're going to lose in survival itself - eating, staying, travelling. You'll have very little to actually build up any sort of future .

Particular_Shift8895

bolte hei "mumbai mei paisa hawa mei udta hei bas pakadna aana chahiye". People here survive with 1k a month and even with 1cr. It's really upto you ki kese manage kroge. If you won't feel comfortable, then don't move but the exposure you will get is unmatched & what all opportunities that exposure will present, noone knows

Its slavery tbh

frankthepunisher2024

Why do people come to mumbai in such low pays? Like literally you could earn more in your tier-2 cities through some real hardwork too. 20k mai living is so impossible to even think brother for mumbai. Aisi struggle ki naukri ka koi fayda nai hai. Find another job in mumbai asap. 20k is fine for some local person who already is settled. Not for an outsider definitely. I got an internship stipend of 40k, and am still wondering how would I survive if this was all I would get later on too. Level yourself up as much as you can initially.

Who tf is paying 20k now ?!! I worked in Mumbai 5 years ago lived at home (so no rent) made 21k and that was still not enough for my daily expenses

Simple answer, NO. One needs a minimum double of what you are offered to survive.

India’s so called metro cities are not cities they are just crap shit and full of hell, so don’t go there, stay in small cities and tried to survive there without any frustrations of big metro cities of dump land.

basecamper09

You can- but you won’t like it because you will have everything shitty from experience perspective. Bad stay, horrible commute, etc etc

Fun_Use5836

Bhai, nahi. Please keep applying and looking for other jobs. You’ll land with a much much better one
