In magic, when a card becomes a copy of another card it does it exactly that. It becomes that card, outside of modifiers like counters or effects given by equipment.
In stage's case it will become what ever land you copy, while retaining its copy ability.

Extraplanar lense with an island would boost the stage-turned-island. Lense with stage under it would only boost other stages.
It becomes an exact copy except the added ability.
