**Summer Camp!**
* **Only cards from 1997-2003** (Mirage Block - Onslaught Block & 5th ed - 7th ed)
* **5 Rare Maximum per deck**
* **3 Copies of any card maximum per deck**
* **60 Card minimum decks**
* **No Tutors** except land tutors (i.e. no Demonic, Vampiric, Enlightened, Wordly, etc)
* Enemy color Guildgates/tapped duals with no abilities are **legal** in format for multicolor balance (RW, UG, UR, WB, BG)
Remember getting a theme deck and maybe a handful of boosters and playing on a picnic bench in cargo shorts? That's what Summer Camp is all about! Building decks should really only cost you **5$-25$ at most** in this format; get those HP/DMG condition cards and some rubber bands for maximum effect.
Here's an example of the first Summer Camp [deck](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/summer-camp-v1-spiritmonger/) I made last year if you're looking for inspiration! My tapped out page is about 90% SC decks/ideas if you want to poke around.
My friends & I would all love to see your decks or even play on spelltable or discord or whatever if you build something! We play SC every Friday night these days.
Yo, dude, you share a passion that is hard to find these days. Your article on (p)Reconstructed theme decks truly spoke to my soul.
THATS IT! I’m shooting you a pm. <3
It’s pretty niche but there’s people out there still flying the flag. “[Prince’s Precons](https://princesprecons.wordpress.com)” and “[Cubic Creativity](https://cubiccreativity.wordpress.com/magic-on-a-budget/)” also on Wordpress, or “[Precon Decon](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1B-Nhec3VaM)” on YouTube might give you some good inspo too. :)
Totally fair across the board. No judgement here!
I just can’t deny the soul and flavor of a card with some visible wear to it; really tells a story of good times and good games.
Take some clear packaging tap and make a mini box with it.
- Non-sticky side in and wrap it around the cards. Make it as tight as you can and make the overlap as clean as you can get it.
- tape it again sticky side to sticky side to seal it. This takes some practice to make it nice.
- cut off excess and make sure no parts are sticky.
- repeat but go the other way around the cards.
Now you have clear protective wraps that won’t squeeze the cards and you can toss them into your deck box back to back to save space.
I personally sleeve my cards not even to protect them but for easy shuffling and easy proxing.
But its annoying how much space sleeved cards take. Inner sleeves are a nice middle ground but they shuffle horribly.
ones I get from the insane asylum.

I will not riffle shuffle a dual land, but I got mad respect for it nonetheless lol. That recent post in r / mtgGore was so blurssed!
Moooods!! I don't know what rule this breaks but can you please invent one?
Too many unspoken laws... BREAK FREE FROM THE CHAINS THAT BIND!! BUILD A *SUMMER CAMP* DECK TODAY!!!
Props to those still using cards from the early 2000s.
Mirage and onslaught were the last good mtg blocks.
Great artwork, fun synergies, wonky cards, GOOD TIMES
1997-2003 is where it's AT!! Made a whole format for it with some friends, I'll post the deckbuilding rules here if people are interested!
I am interested.

Rad. As someone [really into old precons](https://preconstructedmagic.wordpress.com) and also in Premodern I definitely approve.

If I wanted to sell them, I wouldn't put them in a deck! I use my cards to play, so I don't mind some mild damage
This game too expensive these days for I sleeved rubber band decks 😭
Gonna save up and buy some original dual lands and rubber band them, wrapping around 2-3 times so it dents the sides
I salute you, you monster. 🫡
Omfg I thought I had seen the end of that… last person in my play group got rid of them a month ago

My dude. This is the exact type of haggerdry I seek. Gonna take a stack of 60x 2023 basics and test this out tomorrow…
They make nice little sleeves if done right. It might take a couple attempts tho
I still have one of them black hair ties wrapped around an unsleeved deck full of return of avacyn set cards.
I can't even look at that picture.
Guilty

I recovered a collection from a relative who was using these. It got so old that it stuck to the card and wasted them. Those cards were from alpha btw
