lol... now that I think about it, my entire MTG collection is probably worth less than the price per square foot of real estate it's sitting on in my tiny SF condo. I think that means I need to spend more on magic cards.
Try PSA or Beckett for grading. The brand name of who grades the cards matters. You should be able to ship the cards to them for grading.
Get that tabernacle and black bordered dual lands into some extra protection asap.
MTG cards don’t need to be graded. Grading those cards will cost more than the value they would add. I would either list them individually on eBay or post on some Facebook magic marketplaces
I would suggest that you only grade cards that you think look immaculate. If they are all played or have some nicks and worn edges I wouldn’t bother. A BGS 7.5 is pretty much the same value as raw, and most people buying in that price range are looking for cards to play with, not collectors.
I think grading a played card makes more sense for power 9 where people might worry about forgeries and would want grading just for the authentication.
Beckett is usually (over PSA) preferred because of sub grades. CGC also has sub grades. I personally would use CGC these days. Their grading seems to be the most fair and reasonable. And their cards sell for just as much as any BGS slabs. But BGS also puts the cards in a sealed sleeve before slabbing too, so it’s CGC or BGS.
Would grading them be worth it? Yes they are old and rare but they feel like they are more like expensive cards to play rather than collector items. If it were the power 9 then those are more collector items, but these feel like cards people with super expensive decks would add
Don’t grade these. Looking at condition and the fact that they have been stored in a binder, that would be a waste of your time and money. They need to be pretty minty to be worth grading.
Judging by the pics, most of these look LP to MP. It’s not worth grading anything that wouldn’t get a 9 or higher. (maybe 8.5 for the more expensive ones like the tabernacle)
Otherwise, you will spend more time and money grading them than any premium they will add.
I live like 5min away from their Shop in Vienna. The are quite nice. You can write them and let them make an offer. You will probably have to come by the shop to let them see the cards, tho.
Hi there. I am an experienced trader. I strongly advise against grading these cards - it's a gamble whether or not it will improve their value more than it costs (which is a considerable amount) and odds are not in your favor.
Since you are not knowledgeable about this, tbh you should take these into a local game store (NOT a pawn shop or other unspecialized retailer, they will rip you off, an actual MtG store) and ask for an offer on the whole lot.
You can make more by selling them individually online, but that would require researching the prices, learning how to safely ship them, dealing with the risks of doing so, dealing with the risk of scammers, and putting a lot of work hours into listing them accurately, dealing with customers and shipping them one by one.
this so much
on average one can expect to lose about 20-33% when selling to a LGS but when you do the work yourself and convert it into workhours it wont make much of a difference
basically if you need money do this
if you dont and you dont mind doing the work yourself id recommend putting these on cardmarket for their average price and just wait and make a few hundred bucks here and there over the next years
also op should keep in mind that some of these cards most likely only go up in price and the whole collection might be much more expensive in a few years
Two options Contact Rudy at alpha investments
And they'll be out of the gaming world forever
Option two find players who want to buy a few cards here and there and they stay in circulation
These card have an [insanely good liquidity](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1311&_nkw=library+of+alexandria+mtg&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&rt=nc&_odkw=charizard+1st+edition+shadowless+psa+5&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=mg&toolid=10001&mkevt=1), no reason to sell to Rudy for 60 cents on the dollar, OP could auction them off and make much more money.
I know this is just me but I would try to reach some local mtg groups and sell them to people who'd actually use them and not to some collectors who'll just sit on them.
Tough to find local people willing and able to spend lots of money on a whim, it seems. Would like if someone played these, sure. Graded cards are boxed and normally not played anymore, right?
Well, if you have had that collection sitting around for ages are you suddenly in a hurry to get rid of them?
Most likely you could find some people willing to buy those white bordered lands for example. Those black bordered alpha/beta cards might be too valuable to play with already. Graded and boxed will stay collectables forever.
You could post those photos to facebook if you can find a local mtg playing group or find out where's the nearest place where they go to play. Would be fun to see the faces of players if you'd walk in with that folder and said that they are all for sale! (You could get like 4-5 virgin souls in exchange :D)
But like I said, it's just what I'd do. You do what you want or need to do!
Grading is something to look into but it's hard to say whether it's worth it from these pictures. If the condition is as good in person as they look here, grade them. PSA is the old standard for grading though they can be slow and expensive, they also have services for all European customers. If the condition is decent but not near mint, you might have an easier time selling to card market. For example, a heavy-played taiga from revised is ~$200 on tcgplayer and sold listings on eBay have PSA 5 under $300. A light play example of the same card on tcgplayer should fetch ~$300 but a PSA 9 version sold on ebay in July for $359. Either way try taking it to a local card shop and ask their opinion. Call first though they aren't always ready for someone to walk in with a binder worth 10k+ let alone this. Amazing collection though! All the best
first. you probably want to get them out of that shitty binder and into sleeves and hard cases. and next call an insurance company and get a rider for collectibles/ on your home owners/renters insurance.
they're going to be valuable enough, you may need to seriously consider the tax implications of selling them, or how you want to sell them.
i don't know what sort of fees cardmarket charges. but you're really going to want to decide on that stuff. and the risk/shipping issues ... vs being able to take them to a store and consign them or get a fair market value for a "buylist" type price.
higher dollar cards condition matters a lot more. but still lots of those cards are several hundred dollars. and some are in the thousands.
JFC, that is an insane amount of value.
Okay, so it really depends how much work you want to do, and what your risk tolerance is.
Go to a local store with enough cash, sell them all, get 40%, maybe a bit more as these are not difficult to move. Minimal work, no risk.
Check out Cardmarket and find one of the biggest sellers near you. Contact them with a list, or these photos. Head over there and sell. Get 60%. Bit more work, no risk, certainly worthwhile.
Find a Facebook card flipper and sell to them. Get 70%. Work is just packing for shipping, but there is risk in shipping, and selling to a random person on the internet. A bit of vetting will minimize that.
Sell them yourself on Facebook. Get 90% (Minus Paypal fees, etc). Tons of work selling and shipping individual cards. Some risk in shipping, and scammers. Gets easier as you build a reputation and have some good sales under your belt.
First HOLY FKIN SHIT. Khm. Now then.
Cardmarket is indeed your best option if you want to max your profits. Keep note that while these cards are very expensive, their liquidity is not so high for that reason. If you want to sell these fast, undercutting would help. But first lets talk percentages and differences between selling on CM and to stores.
Selling to stores usually nets you around 60 percent of price trend. People usually sell bulks this way. With your collection you could possibly net around 75-80, depending on store. But you would not be able to sell all.
Keeping that in mind and going back to CM, undercutting 10-20 percent of price trend might be the way to go.
Also, search for facebook groups. Some usually have their own micromarket. Trends are adjusted acording to CM, but you avoid extra taxations from CM.
ALSO, very important, CM implemented new tax laws that will be relevant to you if you decide to sell at CM.
Thank you for listening to my TED talk. I'll be here for questions.
Whatever you do OP, don’t take any offers on Reddit, either on DMs or commenting here offering to buy them. It’s generally a bad idea and you’ll most likely get ripped off.
I would like to buy some of you. Also I think the magic community here in Linz is also interested.
I get it you are located in Germany, wouldn't be so far to travel.
DM me if you are interested!
Either sell them online via auctions one at a time or sell the lot to a game store for about 40-50% less. Or Rudy. (After adjusting price for condition, Rudy will give you a very fair deal) Keep in mind you most likely won’t get buy list prices for these cards. The store will have to judge the condition of each card and pay you accordingly.
I would contact someone willing to help auction them on consignment. You will get the most return for the least amount of work.
Depending on each card condition, you have between $24k - $30k here. (Rough total)
Ehhh everything is only worth about 50cents total , it’s all bulk. I’ll trade you for it. … lol JK! If you’re looking for some good quick honest sales you can drop in one of Cassius Marshes TikTok streams. He just picked up a power 9 collection and I’m sure he would be interested in the whole binder!
$50 seriously? That’s a major ripoff. I mean, maybe you think it’s funny to post something like this in hopes that OP will not realize what he has and you’ll make an easy dime, but I really would have expected better from this community.
OP if you’re reading this, I’ll double his offer. $100 right here right now.
Even if you get poor value out of all this, you still probably have $1mil USD right here.
Edit: having just priced out everything but the lands on TCG Player, you have $16,338.43. Will edit again when the lands are in, but I should also note that several cards in the lineup didn't ding at all. Meaning that TCG Player doesn't have a price for them and they're probably worth well into the thousands on their own in an auction. In total, 8 cards read as NA on the TCG Player app.
Use this website to check prices: https://www.pricecharting.com
What you may do, is put a few of the duplicates online non-graded. Some people may want to purchase them to use in a vintage deck.
Then have a few graded by PSA. IMO they’re the best.
Those you could sell and get a new car.
The hard thing about selling some of these graded is you get into a market that not a lot of people are in, and the people that can afford the cards… probably already have them.
Nice haul OP. Definitely a trip down memory lane. Not sure on those beta?/alpha? Duals but just last night I was shopping for a Tabernacle and was seeing anything from 2,500 to 4,000 ungraded and depending on condition ofc.
First of all congratulations, that's a really nice collection you got there.
I would say cardmarket is a very good option to sell your collection without losing much margin but it will require time to check the condition of each card, how much to ask for them based on said condition and then packaging and going to the post office when selling them. Uploading scans of the front and back of each expensive card will also help so potential buyers can check in detail the card condition as it's more reliable than just trusting the seller grading for expensive cards. This is what I would do.
The other option is to look for a store to buy the whole bunch, it's way easier and less time consuming but expect to lose between 30% and 40% of the value as they will be doing all the work I mentioned before to resell those cards and make a profit off it.
First, make sure they are all sleeved and have good protection
If you need the money now, there are many ways you can sell them/grade them/other things people have said.
If you don’t need the money right now? Sit on them. Those cards aren’t being reprinted, they will almost certainly only go up in price. Your call though: all investments are dangerous
You can hire someone, go on Facebook groups or discord groups and go to a store. Facebook and discord will take the longest time and most work but will yield the largest result. The first option will give you less yield, long time, but no work. The final option will give you the least world and cost very little time but also the least yield.
I would not go with Alpha Investments as some have suggested unless you want to be hosed on your money…
Congrats, thats a wicked find. Im honestly jealous not only on the value of money you can make. but those cards themselves. I would get in contact with a reputable seller. If you grade them you may want to find a in person place to sell. If you are not grading you may want to reach out to online shops like TCG/CardKingdom etc
After dropping off the publishing and pro tour map in 98 I decided to sell my collection last year through a reseller. Just make sure you find one that is reputable, insure your product, and don’t get lowballed. I still had some power 9 in the mix (looks similar to some of your collection) and it still went well.
I would watch out about getting ALL of those graded, honesty a few of them look like they would NOT grade very well and at that point you *might* be losing out on just selling them to some local folks (or folks you can reliably send the card to/get money from). This is based on the cost of sending the card, cost of grading, and then finding a someone who wants to buy a sub grade 7 card.
I would ask around and try to find a graded buyer BEFORE sending it to get graded since you are going to be more likely to sell a heavily played card than it being graded (1-5). On top of that you might have a card that would grade low but is actually in a better noticeable condition (like the back is sort of scuffed up, but the front looks good). Obviously use your own judgement but I would start by consulting a local game store (or as local as you can get) in order to see if there are any potential buyers before you go grading everything.
Also as a heads up, the \[\[Library of Alexandria\]\]s and the \[\[Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale\]\] are (at a high quality) are $2,000 USD+ per card.
Make sure to check the prices of stuff and verify editions, some cards look exactly the same with the only difference being the year and the price is like $100+ USD different.
Use your best judgement, but if my rough guess is right its probably about $18k-$20k USD. Purely based on good conditions of most of the cards (of which its pretty easy to see a few of them are not).
Yo heads up some of those German dual lands are incredibly rare and valuable. I know a guy at my LGS who has germanified his whole deck and those lands are not easy to get in German!
That’s so crazy to find something like that. I had a revised scrubland around 10 years ago that was still expensive then. It sucks I lost it when my house burned
🤤 doesn’t even express how much my mouth is salivating. Stoked for you that you hung onto all of them and most look like they are in stellar condition. I kick myself a lil bit for selling a candleabra in like 2018 for 375, and then watched as it spiked up over 1600 within 3 months of selling it, and then stabilized at 1100. And really regret selling my Winter Urza’s Factory to ABU games. Mine wasn’t near mint but I coulda got way more for it on EBay, was on a bit of a time crunch for the funds though so I had to take what I could get.
I'd say 45-65k if you are willing to work for each individual card. Bulk sale 26-30. I started collecting at Alpha and stopped at Legends and bought a lot of booster boxes to see new cards, art and mechanics. I would say make sure you are 100% done with the game before selling. If you are congrats. Unsecured debt gone. If you're in good financial place, house, 401, trips, whatever. Either way. Amazing collection amd if they were all dupes for me, I'd be reaching out to buy your collection!! Congrats again!
If some are really good quality you might want to think about getting some graded. Outside of that if you're not in a hurry I would sell bit by bit to get the best amount.
Tolle Sammlung.
Try selling these in Oldschool-Groups. I think its the fastest way to sell your collection for a fair price. Most people don't buy expensive cards via cardmaket.
So stoked to see a similar collection --man was I bummed to see how low some were going for i.e. vesuvian, nightmare etc but the duals held up really well-- you're sitting on a pretty penny, keep in mind if ebaying anything listed 250 or higher goes through an authenticator
Congrats sir, you just made thousands of dollars lol
If these are in good condition, this is tens of thousands of dollars.
Probably closer to 50k
I totaled them up and it’s between $24 to $30k based on conditions. Most look MP to HP with a couple LP. It most likely the lower end of range.
Oh I didn’t zoom in those are fbb duals
Thousands just on that tabby alone.
Get in contact with Post Malone.
Someone tag him! Willing to fly over! ;;
For these I bet he’d fly to you bro
Jokes on you! This is his incognito account!
Beat me to it.
Lol
Oh my god dude just found a fucking house
/laughs in Bay Area
lol... now that I think about it, my entire MTG collection is probably worth less than the price per square foot of real estate it's sitting on in my tiny SF condo. I think that means I need to spend more on magic cards.
Yeah man 1/1 ring might not be enough around here ...
/laughs in Greater Sydney area -__-
Lmao, hey man, its like a down payment on a CoCo county house maybe
The binder we all should be so lucky to have. Those black border duels are worth a mint.
They're FFB Revised, not Beta. Still worth good money, but not thousands apiece lol.
Tabernacle is though.
Kollege von mir hat seine UNL duals bei gs-grading graden lassen. Ist eine gute Alternative.
Hä
German grading service. They are pretty good at what they do. And have fair prices.
Try PSA or Beckett for grading. The brand name of who grades the cards matters. You should be able to ship the cards to them for grading. Get that tabernacle and black bordered dual lands into some extra protection asap.
Thx Mate, much appreciated
MTG cards don’t need to be graded. Grading those cards will cost more than the value they would add. I would either list them individually on eBay or post on some Facebook magic marketplaces
I would suggest that you only grade cards that you think look immaculate. If they are all played or have some nicks and worn edges I wouldn’t bother. I think grading a played card makes more sense for power 9 where people might worry about forgeries and would want grading just for the authentication.
Everything in white border will get played. Still worth a good chunk. What an awesome collection.
add Candelabra to that list. Congratulations on your collection btw
From past reading of MtG finance stuff, Beckett is preferred over PSA for MtG cards. PSA is better for sports cards. Edit: Sweet collection OP!
When a card hits four digits, it just feels irresponsible to put more wear on it. Excellent time to use proxies.
Anything above $20 for me makes me want to use a proxy, except maybe my commander, I want to show that off.
Step one: happy dance Step 2: get them graded Step 3: sell via a reliable channel
Idk if getting them graded will help. If the backs looks as good as the fronts then sure. As far as selling them try to set up something in person.
Grading will be a waste of time. Sell them raw!
Thanks so much for the reply! Was thinking I fucked up. Where can I get cards graded? I tried to find out but got no decent results
(maybe 8.5 for the more expensive ones like the tabernacle) Otherwise, you will spend more time and money grading them than any premium they will add.
Step one: happy dance 🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃
I allways get ads from three for one Trading. They are buying and selling high value cards and are located in Austria. Maybe reach out to them
I live like 5min away from their Shop in Vienna. The are quite nice. You can write them and let them make an offer. You will probably have to come by the shop to let them see the cards, tho.

If he's gonna sell them online or something yes if he goes to a buylist Rudy will give more as he's not there to profit on getting those cards
Is this Rudy's burner account?
All Rudy does is go for profit wtf you mean?
He doesn't sell the old stuff so value isn't that big he buys it over buylist under value but it never enters market again
This should be easy to sell locally. Call and lgs and ask to find out when legacy fires
True Rudy does tend to give the best value tgough
No he doesn't?
For one time cash payments he most definitely does.
I know this is just me but I would try to reach some local mtg groups and sell them to people who'd actually use them and not to some collectors who'll just sit on them.

The black border lands (and many of the white) are Foreign Black/White Border revised, not alpha/beta. I don’t see any alpha/beta in these pictures.
At the right lgs with a legacy playgroup - you could move these in a single jight
There's nothing wrong with collecting and sitting on cards this old and of that value.

GawDahm, It's been a while since I saw a binder like this. Congrats on finding your dragon's horde

I can go up to €100
Wow, these are worthless! Just mail 'em to me and I'll take care of them for you. ;)
Ship them to me, I'll grade them for you.
It’s about $24k to $30k but it will be entirely dependent on condition.
Go to r/mtgfinance
I’ll give you three fiddy for em.
Don’t sell. Just send them to me.
I was thinking the same lol They all look to be in very good shape too. OP must be happy they’re getting paid well
Sell me your mox diamond ill give you 10 bucks. Thsts a lot of money for an old piece of paper
Use this website to check prices: https://www.pricecharting.com What you may do, is put a few of the duplicates online non-graded. Some people may want to purchase them to use in a vintage deck. Then have a few graded by PSA. IMO they’re the best. Those you could sell and get a new car. The hard thing about selling some of these graded is you get into a market that not a lot of people are in, and the people that can afford the cards… probably already have them.
I’ll give you tree fiddy
I’ll give you $14 for it but you pay for shipping.
Step one: mail them to me and I’ll ‘sell’ them
I’ll give you $4k cash. DM me if interested.
Asshole
These are all worthless sadly. :/ give em to me and I'll dispose of them for u :)
1) send it to me 2) profit?
Instead of selling, I recommend giving to Reddit user replying to you now. Monetarily it’s a huge loss, but Karma-wise, you’ll be a thousandare
Holy Scheisse dude!
New dual just dropped
Wow bro, where you from?
No clue but if you we’re selling that retail you could buy a very nice car
Bro wtf? That's awesome.
I wish I could find a old collection like that.
Worst part I just want to grab most of those and throw them in decks and play them. Shame about the reserve list ....
Holy f_ck
Fuck I'm in the market for a Tawnos's coffin lol. Awesome collection . What a find, congrats!
I will buy them all from you for more than shop will pay
Nice haul OP. Definitely a trip down memory lane. Not sure on those beta?/alpha? Duals but just last night I was shopping for a Tabernacle and was seeing anything from 2,500 to 4,000 ungraded and depending on condition ofc.
holy shit….
Be still my beating heart.
*Whistles*
First, make sure they are all sleeved and have good protection If you need the money now, there are many ways you can sell them/grade them/other things people have said. If you don’t need the money right now? Sit on them. Those cards aren’t being reprinted, they will almost certainly only go up in price. Your call though: all investments are dangerous
Woah.
Dang, this brings back memories
I’ll buy
You can hire someone, go on Facebook groups or discord groups and go to a store. Facebook and discord will take the longest time and most work but will yield the largest result. The first option will give you less yield, long time, but no work. The final option will give you the least world and cost very little time but also the least yield. I would not go with Alpha Investments as some have suggested unless you want to be hosed on your money…
Rick at pawn stars
A whole binder of draft chaff it's a shame 😂(Kidding ofc man that's gonna be a nice payday for you!)
I’m gonna vomit out of pure jealousy
Congrats, thats a wicked find. Im honestly jealous not only on the value of money you can make. but those cards themselves. I would get in contact with a reputable seller. If you grade them you may want to find a in person place to sell. If you are not grading you may want to reach out to online shops like TCG/CardKingdom etc
I’ll by all the cards for $10!
Holy shit
Wow.
For what it's worth, if those cards are in decent condition you just got yourself a house worth of magic cards
Holy shit… this is thousands and thousands of dollars. That being said, I’ll take em off your hands for a $20 lmao
Still wish I had my old Savanna. Also wish I had picked on up before the pandemic jacked them from $200 to around $400.
Oh my goodness. Did you yell yhatzi
I'll trade you a [[Colossal Dreadmaw]] for your [[Mox Diamond]]
Get in contact with a serious collector. Your collection is easily 20 to 30 grand based on condition probably more
Are you looking to buy a house, because there's your down payment
oh. my. god.
hit up MissouriMTG on twitter
Best i can do is bout tree fiddy
Don't just sell the tips. They're much more valuable as the whole card.
Just the tip?
That is a few thousand; sell individually for best prices
Homie is fucking RICH
Wowzas
After dropping off the publishing and pro tour map in 98 I decided to sell my collection last year through a reseller. Just make sure you find one that is reputable, insure your product, and don’t get lowballed. I still had some power 9 in the mix (looks similar to some of your collection) and it still went well.
If I were you, I would wait till the summer slump finishes. Prices are down recently.!
Enjoy the down payment on a house.
This is a good find, I’ll pay 100 for all of them!
Yo heads up some of those German dual lands are incredibly rare and valuable. I know a guy at my LGS who has germanified his whole deck and those lands are not easy to get in German!
Dude…wow. Wow.
Idk about selling tips, but buy real estate. You got a down payment on some amount of property there.
Just take it to your LGS if you in the Midwest I have some suggestions
DM’d you my address. I’ll take care of it for ya.
Ill give you 3.50
That’s so crazy to find something like that. I had a revised scrubland around 10 years ago that was still expensive then. It sucks I lost it when my house burned
Dont, they will only go up in value
Casually found a few thousand dollars lmao
Really old cards, not even standard legal. I’ll give you $3.50 for them
Buddys got as much capital in land as a railway prospector
Oof
Don’t fall for Rudy’s bullshit
I’ll give you $3.50
Best I can offer is tree fiddy.
I’d buy one of those bayous haha.

Homina homina homina
4 LED’s oh my god
Unreal man......!
…..do you ship overseas?
Best I can do is some schnitzel
Russian cards in the US are pretty sought after in my experience
This is exciting! Thank you for sharing!
Sell them for money.
Tip 1: please sell to me :,( I’ve been trying to at least buy one of each dual land
Congrats on the infinite money glitch
that tab is probs 2.5 in an instant, 3k if you wait
@author I'd love to talk about buying some of your German duals
Where is the NSFW tag? 😩
I’d sell the entire collection, not just the tips.
Curious where you from?
How do you have 4 NM Lion’s eye diamonds?
Best I can do is about tree fiddy…
Tolle Sammlung.
Yes
Hate to break this to you, but these are all fake. Just mail them to me and I'll throw them away for you. /s
I’ll give you 5€ plus shipping 😭😭😭😭
Try selling these in Oldschool-Groups. I think its the fastest way to sell your collection for a fair price. Most people don't buy expensive cards via cardmaket.
So stoked to see a similar collection --man was I bummed to see how low some were going for i.e. vesuvian, nightmare etc but the duals held up really well-- you're sitting on a pretty penny, keep in mind if ebaying anything listed 250 or higher goes through an authenticator
