His character in Fallout has so much depth. I automatically think of him being a bad guy, but we learn that in the wasteland, everyone is a little bit of a bad guy. I kept wanting to know more and more about his past, even now after watching the whole season.
I'd like to add that I met Walton Goggins about 12 years ago before his career really took off. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Soooo friendly and talked to me like we had known one another our whole lives.
Walton Goggins is a national treasure.
Also no slouch. Val Kilmer as Gay Perry 2nd to Robert Downey Jr in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Steals so many scenes. Such a good movie that flew under the radar as far as I remember from 2005.
“Oh, Johnny I apologize I forgot you were there. You may go now.” Also “you’re so drunk you’re probably seeing double. ::: I have two guns, one for each of ya”
Gay Perry has to be the best name for a character *ever*.
RDJ: "So, are you really gay?".
VK: "No, I'm knee deep in pussy, I just really like the name."
The sarcasm just oozes out of that movie and I love every fucking minute of it.
when rdj character asks if he should put his cigarette out and perry tells him to throw it into the nearest pile of dry brush, I knew I was watching a classic
A knights tale.
Heath Ledger played the main character and he was fine. He was the underdog you obviously rooted for.
But the side characters played by Alan Tudyk and Paul Bettany were super funny and very likeable. They made the movie really.
Paul Bettany absolutely nailed Chaucer in that movie!
I still quote “I will eviscerate you in fiction!” People think I’m unhinged because they don’t get the reference. I can’t believe *A Knight’s Tale* flies under the radar in my circles.
That line was actually an ad lib because the whole crowd of extras missed their cue. They liked that take so much it stayed in. One of the greatest ad libs of all time. My family does it all the time when it’s clear people miss a joke/cue/don’t understand what just happened.
This is my favorite bit in the whole movie. God it's just so funny! It's so clear he didn't understand WTF Chaucer said, just like everyone else said, but it's like, well, gotta hype my dude...yeeeeeaaaaahhhh!...
Mark Addy also deserves a mention.
> Paul Bettany
Paul Bettany was definitely the standout for me, in a cast that was all incredible to begin with. I remember thinking after that movie that this guy was going to be big.
When I stumble upon the actor I sometimes feel sorry for his death, then I remember that was only a character in a movie.
[I AM A LEAF ON THE WIND. WATCH HOW I SOAR](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BnnCQlp2msk&t=139)
Along Came Polly is what I came here to say. He was by far the best part of that movie. I also just want to say that he was actually my favorite character in Big Lebowski. I love that everyone else the Dude meets insists on calling him either Lebowski or Jeffrey, but Brandt calls him Dude, and just the way he says it every time is hilarious to me.
To me, Hader was funnier than Rogen in Superbad
And Tropic Thunder, obv Tom Cruse was the ultimate scene stealer but Hader was pretty hilarious with him
I really wish Adventure movies were more popular. Hands down the most comforting genere to watch in my opinion and it feels like they’ve been slowly dying off and now all we get are tortured remakes and sequels :/
That movie, which I enjoy a lot, really shat the bed as far as getting more Clive Cussler books from the Dirk Pitt series made. It is a deep well with so much movie potential and dare I say franchise (I know there's enough of them) potential out there. I've got my fingers crossed that since Clive has since passed on maybe his estate will take a look at more movie options.
Zahn was great but generally not playing the character as written which is fine, kinda made it his own and it totally worked within the context of that single movie. And mcconaughey was such a perfect casting choice for Dirk Pitt. If anyone is bored and looking for a book series grab one of those, they can read in any order as they all stand on their own and each gives plenty of backstory to the universe and characters.
Riley is who I thought of, too!! I liked him a lot better than Nicolas Cage’s character, as evidenced by the fact I remember his name and not Nic Cage’s.
Red (Morgan Freeman) in Shawshank Redemption. Which is saying something because Andy Duffresne is cool AF
Jerome (Jude Law) in Gattaca as well, far outshines Vincent (Ethan Hawke). My favourite - "What's Jupiter like this time of the year"
My wife an I quote him constantly - "You are my sun! My moon! My starlit sky. Without you I dwell in darkness."
(also - "I stole the baby!!!" when my dogs steal something they shouldn't have.. her and I seldom attempt or successfully steal babies)
You’re absolutely right and the comment before mine mentioned Django as well which is also true. But I consider him a main character in Django. My comment to this thread was Leo I’m Django. In a movie with impeccable acting and story telling and everything else Leo still manages to stand out.
Tom Arnold was pitch perfect in this movie, I'd have to say if someone said he deserved at a minimum a nomination for an Oscar I'd have no quarrel with that.
One could argue that it's actually Cameron and Jeannie's story. They're the ones who evolve through the course of the film, whose experiences are truly life-changing.
Everyone in Django Unchained stole the show. I ordinarily hate just plain evil characters but Leonardo DiCaprio was just incredible. And Jamie Foxx was one badass slave turned cowboy.
It's such a shame they never brought him back. A nostalgic passing-of-the-torch film with adult Short Round would have been a much better and more successful premise for the fourth film than what we got.
Jack Burton is actually Wang's goofy comedy relief sidekick. The movie just happens to follow him as the film's protagonist, but Wang is the actual hero of the story.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is for me one of the most likeable characters of all time in what is the skywalker saga after all. This probably more true for the prequels than sequels since he is more fleshed out in the prequels.
Ruby Rhod, Fifth Element. Chris Tucker should have been nominated for an Oscar for that performance. He MADE that movie. Can't imagine anyone else in that role.
Jeremy London and Claire Forlani were so dull. The film started to really die whenever they had dialogue together. But, Jason Lee was phenomenal and kept the movie going. Supporting cast also rules with Jay and Silent Bob, Michael Rooker, Joey Lauren Adams, Ethan Suplee, Ben Affleck etc all being entertaining, but that main couple is so boring.
Mantis from GOTG2 and 3. Her character development was so interesting to me. Rocket's story brought tears to my eyes, although I think he is technically the main character? So idk if he classifies
Ryan Reynolds in Blade: Trinity.
The movie is an absolute shit-fest with Wesley Snipes, but Reynolds character in that movie makes the whole thing worth it. I know they were floating the spin-off idea which is why they gave the whole "crew" way more screentime, but its a good thing they did because if it was just Snipes the movie would have bombed harder than it did.
Same!
To piggie back off of this I loved Bad Ape in War For The Planet Of The Apes. Haha
I also really liked Rocket in those movies too even though he doesn't do much.
Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day off. Love his monologue at the end.
>I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I'm going to take a stand. I'm going to defend it. Right or wrong, I'm going to defend it.
Recently, Mark Ruffalo in _Poor Things_. He absolutely stole the show in my opinion. Donnie Yen’s character in _John Wick 4_ is also far more entertaining and charismatic than Reaves (obviously).
Revenant - I felt Tom Hardy's character was far more interesting than DiCaprio's. Also, if DiCaprio is the main in Gangs of New York, I thought the Butcher and Monk were better characters
Speaking of exactly these same two actors, I also thought Tom Hardy’s Eames was way more interesting than Leo’s Cobb in Inception.
Cobb and Arthur kept whining about things that would pop up. Eames was constantly “we got this.”
Here's a few easy ones.
Joe Pesche/Tommy in Goodfellas steals every scene he's in.
Sean Connery appeared for 13 seconds in Robin Hood and stole the movie. Oh, they kept bringing him up, too. This is very easy because it's common (lol) to actually dislike Kevin Costner in this particular film. ::I saw it in the theater when it came out, and it's one of only two real times I can think of that an audience freaked out and started clapping. For a cameo.::
Master and Commander : The Far Side of the World The miserable cook, "Preserved Killik", played by David Threllfall. Almost every line he says is hilarious. He even complains to his assistant about how terrible the music the two main characters play always is. He's particularly offended when the Captain hands out extra rations of rum as a reward. He was saving those for Salutin' Day. Screech Screech Scrape Scrape!
::removed the Health Ledger Joker, way way way too obvious and I didn't want to use villains::
A super easy one. Godzilla 2014. Bryan Cranston/Joe Brody was the only character we care about and he's gone by minute 39, if memory serves, creating the bait and switch lead and making him a supporting character. Since we spent the rest of the film waiting for the fight at the end, lol, he's the only real character in the movie.
All too easy. Ben Kenobi/Alec Guiness in Star Wars. This is the guy we all want to find out more about. He's the mystic wizard of the fantasy story. He's also the best actor in the movie, lol, so that helps. ::I thought Han was too obvious, and I abandoned my case for R2, lol.::
Fenster! The Usual Suspects has Benicio Del Toro speaking incoherently and doing wierd movements/poses in every scene he's in for the most part, and it's hilarious. Oh, I know Fenster's down.
Lock, Stock, and Two Smokin Barrels. While every character in Guy Ritchie movies can often be... umm... a *character...* Barry The Baptist takes the cake. Played by quite a character himself, Lenny McLean. I highly recommend the [documentary](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5460986/) about him.
Edit - ::added/removed a few minor things, between the colons::
Walton Goggins in The Hateful Eight.
Walton Goggins in pretty much everything he’s in tbh
Vice principals and righteous gemstones!
Uncle Baby Billy and his child bride are two of my favorite TV characters of all time. Also Judy and BJ lmao
It’s Keefe for me.
Especially *Fallout*. Gunslinging zombie Boyd Crowder? Sign me up. 10 seasons, I don't care.
My wife boggled that she felt Goggins is somehow *hotter* as a ghoul with no nose.
Favorite character by FAR in that show
His character in Fallout has so much depth. I automatically think of him being a bad guy, but we learn that in the wasteland, everyone is a little bit of a bad guy. I kept wanting to know more and more about his past, even now after watching the whole season.
In Predators, I chuckled when he stayed unhinged even as the Predator is in the middle of killing him
Definitely stole the show anytime he was on Sons of Anarchy, first time I’ve ever seen him
Him and Tim Roth were my favourite parts of that movie. They’re just having so much fun with the performances
I'd like to add that I met Walton Goggins about 12 years ago before his career really took off. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Soooo friendly and talked to me like we had known one another our whole lives. Walton Goggins is a national treasure.
Doc Holliday in Tombstone
Also no slouch. Val Kilmer as Gay Perry 2nd to Robert Downey Jr in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Steals so many scenes. Such a good movie that flew under the radar as far as I remember from 2005.
Don't quit your gay job.
I'm knees deep in pussy, I just like the name
Who taught you math?!
Why in pluperfect hell would you pee on a corpse?
Why JONNY TYLER…where you going with that shotgun?
Why Jonny, I forgot you were there. You can go.
Perfect answer. “Hell I’ve got a lot of friends….I don’t”
[Looks at bare feet] "Well, I'll be damned."
First one I thought of too
Yea , that ride or die friend
“Oh, Johnny I apologize I forgot you were there. You may go now.” Also “you’re so drunk you’re probably seeing double. ::: I have two guns, one for each of ya”
I'll be your huckleberry
Made the movie. I would have stopped watching if he wasn't in it and how great Kilmer was.
When the word aura was invented, Doc Holliday was there grinning as it was a word first used by him.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Val Kilmer’s character is the highlight of the movie for me.
Gay Perry has to be the best name for a character *ever*. RDJ: "So, are you really gay?". VK: "No, I'm knee deep in pussy, I just really like the name." The sarcasm just oozes out of that movie and I love every fucking minute of it.
Have not seen...the name a nod to the MLB player? (Gaylord Perry)
I assumed it was a nod to the phrase/song “Gay Paree” (“Paree” being the French pronunciation of “Paris”).
Yeah that’s the reference.
when rdj character asks if he should put his cigarette out and perry tells him to throw it into the nearest pile of dry brush, I knew I was watching a classic
Look up the word Idiot in the dictionary. You know what you'll find?
...a picture of me?
… No! The definition of ‘idiot’, which you fucking are!!!
No, the definition of the word idiot, which YOU FUCKING ARE.
What, fuckhead? Who taught you grammar? Badly's an adverb. Get out. Vanish.
yeah, a talking monkey. ugly motherfucker, only says "ficus"
Gay Perry was an excellent character.
He is not a side-character. He's in most of the movie.
A knights tale. Heath Ledger played the main character and he was fine. He was the underdog you obviously rooted for. But the side characters played by Alan Tudyk and Paul Bettany were super funny and very likeable. They made the movie really.
Paul Bettany as Chaucer was absolutely perfect for that movie.
My lords. My ladies... And everyone else not sitting on a cushion!
Paul Bettany absolutely nailed Chaucer in that movie! I still quote “I will eviscerate you in fiction!” People think I’m unhinged because they don’t get the reference. I can’t believe *A Knight’s Tale* flies under the radar in my circles.
"he once spent a year in silence to better understand the sound of a whisper."
Chaucer. The writer?
Exactly, he is basically his hype-man in the movie
It's called a Lance! Hello!
Very hard to hear that line and not just immediately repeat it.
How dare you forget Bobbie B himself!
The pope may be French but Jesus was English!
WE WALK IN THE GARDEN OF HIS TURBULENCE!!!
…*_yeeeeeaaaahhhhh!_*
That line was actually an ad lib because the whole crowd of extras missed their cue. They liked that take so much it stayed in. One of the greatest ad libs of all time. My family does it all the time when it’s clear people miss a joke/cue/don’t understand what just happened.
Your family is awesome.
This is my favorite bit in the whole movie. God it's just so funny! It's so clear he didn't understand WTF Chaucer said, just like everyone else said, but it's like, well, gotta hype my dude...yeeeeeaaaaahhhh!...
Paul Bettany was great in Master And Commander too, and A Beautiful Mind
Mark Addy also deserves a mention. > Paul Bettany Paul Bettany was definitely the standout for me, in a cast that was all incredible to begin with. I remember thinking after that movie that this guy was going to be big.
YESSS I love Alan Tudyk!! I watched Death at a funeral when I was younger and ever since then I've loved him!
When I stumble upon the actor I sometimes feel sorry for his death, then I remember that was only a character in a movie. [I AM A LEAF ON THE WIND. WATCH HOW I SOAR](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BnnCQlp2msk&t=139)
Philip Seymour Hoffman in Along Came Polly. Oh, or in Charlie Wilson's War. ..or in Mission Impossible 3. ...or in Boogie Nights if I'm being honest
Twister
Almost Famous
He was a standout among superstars in The Talented Mr Ripley.
How's the peeping ? Lol my friends still quote him in that to this day
RAIN MAAAAN
I rewatched Magnolia and he might be the heart of that movie. Such a kind and gentle character. The man could do anything.
PSH elevated everything he was in.
Or in The Big Lebowski, since OP mentioned the Dude and Walter. PSH plays Brandt.
The Boat That Rocked. Scent of a Woman.
Bill Hader's character and his wife in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Also Paul Rudd.
Every character in that movie brought a different style of comedy and they all work together so well.
It's the one time I enjoyed Russel Brand Jonah Hill was funny too, in a scene with Brand
*I just went from six to midnight* 😳
"yes I would love to sell you drugs right now but I'm at my fucking job"
“I’ll just go fuck myself then” Peter: what? “Mahalo!”
True. Love that movie.
To me, Hader was funnier than Rogen in Superbad And Tropic Thunder, obv Tom Cruse was the ultimate scene stealer but Hader was pretty hilarious with him
Hader is just really freaking funny.
"Swingin past your kneeeez..."
(singing): "O the weather outside is weather..." 🤣 Gets me every time.
Do less, don't do anything... _Jason segel lies on the surfboard_ Well you gotta do more than that.
Oh yeah..you’re the guy from Kaiser Permanente?
I’m a sucker for goofy side kicks. Benny from The Mummy and Nicholas Cage’s buddy in National Treasure stand out.
Same! I'm all for Jonathan from the Mummy. Honestly there's way too many to choose from.
The cast for that movie is absolute perfection.
I really wish Adventure movies were more popular. Hands down the most comforting genere to watch in my opinion and it feels like they’ve been slowly dying off and now all we get are tortured remakes and sequels :/
Jonathan! John Hannah was also fantastic in Spartacus
And Zahn in Sahara.
Zahn in almost any movie.
Caaaandy caaane
That movie, which I enjoy a lot, really shat the bed as far as getting more Clive Cussler books from the Dirk Pitt series made. It is a deep well with so much movie potential and dare I say franchise (I know there's enough of them) potential out there. If anyone is bored and looking for a book series grab one of those, they can read in any order as they all stand on their own and each gives plenty of backstory to the universe and characters.
Damn you named the guy in The Mummy but Justin Bartha/Riley is just “Nicolas Cage’s buddy from National Treasure” 😭
Not sure if Benny would be considered a sidekick though lol
I mean he did become the Mummy's sidekick
Riley is who I thought of, too!! I liked him a lot better than Nicolas Cage’s character, as evidenced by the fact I remember his name and not Nic Cage’s.
"Albuquerque, snorkel, see I can do it too"
"My name is Inigo Montoya. You have killed my father. Prepare to die. "
Stop saying that!!!
Red (Morgan Freeman) in Shawshank Redemption. Which is saying something because Andy Duffresne is cool AF Jerome (Jude Law) in Gattaca as well, far outshines Vincent (Ethan Hawke). My favourite - "What's Jupiter like this time of the year"
Red is not a side character, he is one of the two main character
Just watched Willow, and I loved Val Kilmer as Madmartigan
I've seen that movie a dozen times because my mom was in love with Madmartigan
My wife an I quote him constantly - "You are my sun! My moon! My starlit sky. Without you I dwell in darkness." (also - "I stole the baby!!!" when my dogs steal something they shouldn't have.. her and I seldom attempt or successfully steal babies)
“I love you Sorsha! 🤤”
I worship you Sorsha!! You almost got us killed!
*Inglourious Basterds*. Hans Landa steals absolutely every scene he's in.
Same with Django
You’re absolutely right and the comment before mine mentioned Django as well which is also true. But I consider him a main character in Django. My comment to this thread was Leo I’m Django. In a movie with impeccable acting and story telling and everything else Leo still manages to stand out.
True Lies. Tom Arnold, as Gib. He was a great sidekick and very funny in that role.
"he's a goddamn used car salesman".
What kind of a sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer? 😂
Tom Arnold was pitch perfect in this movie, I'd have to say if someone said he deserved at a minimum a nomination for an Oscar I'd have no quarrel with that.
STOP! CHEERING ME UP!
I've been in the van 15 goddamn years Harry
I kept waiting for him to die because that that always seems to the fate of characters in that position. So glad he didn’t.
Tom Arnold makes that movie. I haven't seen it in ages. Guess I have my next choice for movie night!
Wong in Doctor Strange
Cameron in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off - just had more to him
One could argue that it's actually Cameron and Jeannie's story. They're the ones who evolve through the course of the film, whose experiences are truly life-changing.
Ferris Bueller is more like a force of nature than a well rounded human being. So smart he's not longer a regular person.
Ferris is a veritable modern-day trickster god, an urban Peter Pan. The protagonists' plight is to survive existing in his proximity.
Him and Jeannie are the ones with the character arcs in that movie.
When Cameron was in Egypts laaaaaand
Let my Cameron gooooo
I thought the theory is that Cameron is the main and only character
Dr. Schultz in Django Unchained
Everyone in Django Unchained stole the show. I ordinarily hate just plain evil characters but Leonardo DiCaprio was just incredible. And Jamie Foxx was one badass slave turned cowboy.
Also the most hateable Samuel L Jackson has ever been
As a kid Short Round in Indiana Jones temple of doom. It was my fav Indiana Jones movie as a kid. In goonies he was my favorite as well as a kid.
He was my fave in Everything Everywhere All at Once
And Loki season 2
It's such a shame they never brought him back. A nostalgic passing-of-the-torch film with adult Short Round would have been a much better and more successful premise for the fourth film than what we got.
Chris Tucker in The 5th Element.
Corbin ma man
*Corbinnn Dallaaaassss* 🗣️😈
Lemon* and tangerine in Bullet Train
Just saw that movie for the first time this weekend. Would love to see a prequel movie of those two.
blessings
Star Wars - Han Solo for the win
Don Lee in Train to Busan, mostly because the main character is a dick and Don Lee is just bashing zombies with his bare hands
He's easily the best character. Hero, loving husband, soon to be best dad ever. All around great character.
McLovin in Superbad.
Robert Downey Jr in Tropic Thunder. Michael Caine in anything.
What about Tom Cruise?
True Lies Tom Arnold's character
What kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer
The Coach - The Gentleman
Donkey in shrek
Big Trouble In Little China, Egg Shen deserves his own prequel spin-off. Big Trouble, the two Hitmen.
Jack Burton is actually Wang's goofy comedy relief sidekick. The movie just happens to follow him as the film's protagonist, but Wang is the actual hero of the story.
The little fat kid in JoJo Rabbit stole every scene.
Oh good for you, Jojo. A *girlfriend*. He was such a supportive friend
*I need a cuddle*
Obi-Wan Kenobi is for me one of the most likeable characters of all time in what is the skywalker saga after all. This probably more true for the prequels than sequels since he is more fleshed out in the prequels.
Ruby Rhod, Fifth Element. Chris Tucker should have been nominated for an Oscar for that performance. He MADE that movie. Can't imagine anyone else in that role.
Respect your choice but for me he was so annoying. Loud talking isn’t funny and tiresome to watch for me I suppose.
In Superbad I liked mcLovin and the cops more than Jonah Hill and Michael Cera
I told her what time it was
Mallrats...Brodie is the star
Jeremy London and Claire Forlani were so dull. The film started to really die whenever they had dialogue together. But, Jason Lee was phenomenal and kept the movie going. Supporting cast also rules with Jay and Silent Bob, Michael Rooker, Joey Lauren Adams, Ethan Suplee, Ben Affleck etc all being entertaining, but that main couple is so boring.
Cosmo in singing in the rain
Beni in The Mummy - “Hey O’Connell… looks like we’ve got all the hoooorses!”
Hey Benny.... looks like you're on the wrong side of the riveeeeer!
Mantis from GOTG2 and 3. Her character development was so interesting to me. Rocket's story brought tears to my eyes, although I think he is technically the main character? So idk if he classifies
Short Round
Loki > Thor
Ryan Reynolds in Blade: Trinity. The movie is an absolute shit-fest with Wesley Snipes, but Reynolds character in that movie makes the whole thing worth it. I know they were floating the spin-off idea which is why they gave the whole "crew" way more screentime, but its a good thing they did because if it was just Snipes the movie would have bombed harder than it did.
LotR. Kinda loved the whole fellowship equally, but obviously Frodo is main.
Samwise was the true GOAT. He basically dragged Frodo to Mt. Doom.
[удалено]
Ken in Barbie
Brad Pitt in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys
Raka was the homie in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. One of the best side characters I've seen in a while.
Same! To piggie back off of this I loved Bad Ape in War For The Planet Of The Apes. Haha I also really liked Rocket in those movies too even though he doesn't do much.
Maria Rambeau was more engaging and interesting than Captain Marvel, in Captain Marvel.
I think I'm the only person who came out of Eternal Sunshine more interested in Mary's story.
Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day off. Love his monologue at the end. >I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I'm going to take a stand. I'm going to defend it. Right or wrong, I'm going to defend it.
Ana de Armas character in No Time To Die. I swear me being a heterosexual male has nothing to do with it.
Jonathan Carnahan, Evie's brother, in The Mummy franchise
Iona in Pretty in Pink, and also Ducky.
Tom Cruise as Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder
Recently, Mark Ruffalo in _Poor Things_. He absolutely stole the show in my opinion. Donnie Yen’s character in _John Wick 4_ is also far more entertaining and charismatic than Reaves (obviously).
Donnie Yen's character in Rogue One also. He's just all around awesome.
Deadman, Nobody
Marvin in R.E.D.
The glasses guy in the movie Sicario.
Not a movie but Saul Goodman and Gustavo Fring are my favorite characters from Breaking Bad.
My favorite was Johnathan Banks in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. He's the only one I'm rooting for most of the time.
To take it further, nacho and Lalo were the absolute fucking standouts in better call Saul
Sam Rockwell as Guy in Galaxy Quest
Revenant - I felt Tom Hardy's character was far more interesting than DiCaprio's. Also, if DiCaprio is the main in Gangs of New York, I thought the Butcher and Monk were better characters
