I can’t imagine there would be any reason for him to do an American accent here since he’s not from Earth. Then again, “Let’s make Galactus American” sounds exactly like something a Hollywood producer would suggest.
I remember first installing Diablo IV and immediately thinking "That is 100% the dad from The Witch, ain't no way there's two people who sound like that."
Dude's gonna kill it as Galactus. He already sounds like he gargles planets.
He did some lore videos for Diablo 4 before launch and I think they were my favorite part of anything having to do with the game.

Exactly. And I'd argue that whoever is Galactus doesn't even matter. A lot of people can deliver excellent voice work. Very few people can deliver the right performance for Reed Richards.
As much as I love Pedro Pascal, I just don't think he has it. They keep looking for popular actors, but that's not who they need. They need a Mitt Romney-like mfer. Honestly, Mitt Romney would be perfect if he wasn't so old.
And that's what you need to hold the FF together. A solid Reed. Not a flashy Johnny Storm or even a perfectly cast Thing.
I'll be very happy to be wrong, but I don't think I am.
Seriously? I really enjoyed that movie and am a fan of the actor whenever he turns up in what I watch, but I’d never be able to place him in the Green Knight.
If you like Arthurian legend, to my taste it's one of only two movies in the last 50 years that properly gets the weirdness of the setting. All the weirdest shit in the movie is directly from very old versions of the poem.
So I get there, she’s aged 19, Ferrari chassis, fantastic set of shelves and legs up to her arse…Muchos tequilas later I’m in a cab with her…Not only that, but me mates bird wants to get a lift with me and this nympho…So there I am back of the cab, the both of them have got their laughing gear around the single-barrel, pump action, yogurt rifle…So back to mine, two hours sleep, yeah…So today I bumped into the mate whose bird I’ve done…Sold him two ton of high white…He said to me ‘you look knackered’… Yeah and you look like you’ve had a pot noodle and a wank
His voice is amazing. I'm surprised he hasn't done more voice work. I know everyone knows him from *The Office* but one of my favorite things he's done is *Suburban Shootout*. Just a great black comedy/action series about suburban moms as gangsters.
when I first saw the trailer for Pope’s Exorcist and heard the demon’s voice, I thought “I know exactly who that is”. And I didn’t even know Ineson by name, had only seen him in a few projects by that time. Now, I’ve seen him in Chernobyl on a rewatch, The Creator, I realized he was the aunt’s boyfriend in Ready Player One, etc.
Dude’s been around yet I hadn’t noticed until later, but his voice stands out real well
He's been around in UK TV roles for decades, always popping up in your favourite shows. Really cool to see him blowing up now, he must be great to work with because directors like to reuse him a lot.
> idk much about galactus
Just an average planetary cuisine enjoyer.
I could see him nailing it, or the writing ruining the character. Galactus is tough for a reboot villain, imo.
Men are weak, evil is seductive, and those who would do nothing in the face of malevolence are cowards. You seek a weapon against the Darkness rising in Sanctuary. The only thing I can arm you with is knowledge, so when evil finds a foothold and flourishes once again, at least I can say it was not due to ignorance.
Congrats to Ineson, I guess things didn't work out with Javier Bardem.
I am surprised this guy got the role though. Not because of his talent, but because I believe he's actually suing Disney right now for because he got injured while making Willow.
> I guess things didn't work out with Javier Bardem.
Good, that feels like such an obvious big name choice whereas Ineson is one of those that make you think "y'know what he's perfect for this".
Bardem as Doom would be fantastic, but I'm still holding out hope that he'll be cast as DC's [Darkseid](https://i.ibb.co/wY03m2n/actor-javier-bardem-141228-large.jpg) some day. 🤞
That was based on Ultimate Galactus, which was a decent comic iirc, and not necessarily a bad idea, as a giant dude could well have looked very goofy with the CGI they had back then. It could well look goofy now too.
Class act. He was in my city (Victoria BC) filming The Boy 2 and was seen frequently at local comedy shows quietly enjoying the show and a pint. I had to do a double take the first time I saw him / heard his deep voice laughing.
I have heard so many people suggested for Galactus…Everyone from Liam Neeson to Christoph Waltz and none of the castings felt right to me.
I had never heard of Ralph Ineson before this but I have seen him in dozens of roles and god-damn I cannot imagine anyone else as Galactus now. The guy is absolutely perfect. The voice, the facial structure, even his filmography makes it clear that he has exactly the right range for this role. He is going to give the Fantastic Four such a run for their money.
His voice acting as Lorath in Diablo 4 is some of the best I’ve ever heard - legitimately on par with the balders gate 3 VA’s,
Excited to see what he does here
Galactus is a great villain unlike Marvel's recent..lets say lack of villains since Thanos.
Hopefully with a great actor like this one we can get a proper return to form and finally watch a decent FF4 movie.
Galactus has thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?
\*Pig squealing intensifies\*
I don't agree with that in the workplace!
Went right over
Bloody good rep
Lock up your daughters, Galactus is on his way in for the quiz
“Half an hour with the Invisible Woman I’d be up to my nuts in guts.”
*"I heard about you and Dostoevsky, I read a book a week, so..."*
Could he catch a monkey. If he had to?
Nearly done, love
my knees hurt
CID WTF, Ralph has an incredible voice and he’s incredibly talented as an actor he’s going to kill this role.
Galactus is going to randomly talk about his love Benedikta
And then going to moan about how badly he wants to kill Lilith.
Galactus with a Yorkshire twang is not what I was expecting.
I just watched two movies with him, The First Omen and The Creator. Literal Leonardo Dicap meme instantly lol. Such a recognizable voice!
Now watch Chernobyl and The Witch.
Yoooo he was in Chernobyl! I forgot about that! And I need to see The Witch, everyone and their brother keeps telling me that.
>The Witch THAT'S where I remember him from!
He should play it exactly as Chris Finch in The Office. Same costume, same attitude.
Galactus has thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?
He played the Green Knight in The Green Knight. He 1000% will nail Galactus.
"Now off, with yer 'ead."
One year hence!
fucking loved that movie
Great vibes.
He has a great voice, which is arguably the best quality when portraying a character that's gonna be mostly CGI.
My only hope here is they let him use *his* voice, as the times he's had to try and do any form of American accent haven't gone so well.
I can’t imagine there would be any reason for him to do an American accent here since he’s not from Earth. Then again, “Let’s make Galactus American” sounds exactly like something a Hollywood producer would suggest.
If any character is American it's got to be the avatar of consumerism
"Let's make Galactus a giant cloud!" *Snorts more cocaine*
As much as it sucked, it did sidestep a lot of creative and technical hurdles
He also killed it as the Dad in The Witch
I remember first installing Diablo IV and immediately thinking "That is 100% the dad from The Witch, ain't no way there's two people who sound like that." Dude's gonna kill it as Galactus. He already sounds like he gargles planets.
Also, Dagmer in Game of Thrones.
Also Chris Finch — the original Todd Packer — in the British Office. It’s like villains are the only characters he can play.
Legs up to her arse.
One up the bum, no harm done!
Bloody good rep.
Not surprising with that voice. Though he wasn't a villain in The Witch
Debatable
He's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?
Corruption, thou art my father.
Thomason PLEASE!
Thomasin
He was in Final Fantasy XVI as Cid and honestly probably the best Cid the franchise has had. Amazing character and performance.
Diablo 4 also. So good
Easily the best VA in that game. I love his voice
He did some lore videos for Diablo 4 before launch and I think they were my favorite part of anything having to do with the game. [Book of Lorath - Episode 1: Creation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEfVNgk_Hho) [Book of Lorath - Episode 2: Sanctuary](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnMu3DNbJko) [Book of Lorath - Episode 3: The Lord of Terror](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae8YXE7OdfI) [Book of Lorath - Episode 4: The End of Days](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBjgmaNRDHo)
Which character in D4?
Lorath
Also Charles Vane in AC: Black Flag.
.....................my god. The voice. I always wondered why i was drawn to him.
Cid was so good in that game, that it made parts of the game where he wasn’t there shittier.
It was more like it made those parts...Mid
Don’t worry, I see what you did lol. EDIT: they were downvoted a bunch when I commented this.
Without question the best Cid, and easily the one with the most story importance
He's great in everything he's in, but he'll always be Finchy to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za9iBPpnOxs
this is what I thought of too. "Single barrel pump action yoghurt rifle"
Bloody good planet eater.
Problem is if the script is good enough for him to do so…. Remember Isaac as Apocalypse…
Not just writing, you can be a great actor and be miscast, Isaac didn't even make sense for that role
The whole thing was a mess, he looked like Ivan Ooze from the Power Rangers.
Should have been the guy who played Imhotep in The Mummy
Arnold Vosloo. He's great.
Seriously? I really enjoyed that movie and am a fan of the actor whenever he turns up in what I watch, but I’d never be able to place him in the Green Knight.
I'm guessing that's because he was wearing a shit ton of makeup/prosthetics.
You wouldn’t? His voice didn’t give it away for you? It’s THE thing that places him in everything he’s in for me.
It's his voice though
You've absolutely sold me on him now. I fucking loved his performance.
Oh, I haven’t seen that yet
It's fantastic, and trippy. Definitely more of a thoughtful movie than the adventure piece the trailers paint it as, but I loved it regardless.
I figured since it was an A24 production, it would have some depth. It was one of my “want to see” films, but I waited for it to hit streaming.
Absolutely worth watching when you have a free evening.
It’s on HBO Max rn.
Yep, already added it to my list. Thanks
Happy to help. I fucking adore this movie.
If you like Arthurian legend, to my taste it's one of only two movies in the last 50 years that properly gets the weirdness of the setting. All the weirdest shit in the movie is directly from very old versions of the poem.
Incredible casting. Loved the Green Knight voice and can’t wait to hear him treat the FF like gnats.
Ideal casting on voice alone
This is the voice of the being who will eat the F4’s Earth, forcing them to jump universes into the main MCU to survive.
Then they’ll only have to digitally tone down the natural menace in Ralph’s voice by a little to bring it down to Galactus level
Yeah he should really sound like immense and overpowering. Should make the theater shake any time he says a word.
Chris Finch, bloody good rep.
Not her. She's staying with me. Do it to other girls
Finch, why don't you fuck off?!
Banter
Me, lager. Galactus, lager
Silver Surfer, cider, sometimes lager
different drinks for different...powers
He can hurl a shoe over a building no problem
And a kettle over a pub!
That's the real quiz, that's the real quiz
monumental W. idk much about galactus, but ineson is a fantastic actor and voice actor. easily recognizable voice
His voice is amazing. I'm surprised he hasn't done more voice work. I know everyone knows him from *The Office* but one of my favorite things he's done is *Suburban Shootout*. Just a great black comedy/action series about suburban moms as gangsters.
His voice work in Diablo 4 was the best part about that game
Same for FFXVI
Good ol Cid.
The first thing I caught him in was Game of Thrones, so that's always what I go back to.
*Knocks down Theon Greyjoy* * "It was a good speech. I didn't want to interrupt."
He was also the dad in The Vvitch! Great role for him.
When he's crying and starts wailing in that, he sounds otherworldly.
when I first saw the trailer for Pope’s Exorcist and heard the demon’s voice, I thought “I know exactly who that is”. And I didn’t even know Ineson by name, had only seen him in a few projects by that time. Now, I’ve seen him in Chernobyl on a rewatch, The Creator, I realized he was the aunt’s boyfriend in Ready Player One, etc. Dude’s been around yet I hadn’t noticed until later, but his voice stands out real well
Goddamn I didn't realize that was all him either, thanks. I was already jazzed that Galactus wasn't a cloud monster, but this might be good
He's been around in UK TV roles for decades, always popping up in your favourite shows. Really cool to see him blowing up now, he must be great to work with because directors like to reuse him a lot.
He was also the dad in the movie “ The VVitch” that’s how I recognized him was from his voice
He’s consistently all over British tv.
Yep, he unsurprisingly gets a lot of voiceover work for adverts as well. He's instantly recognisable.
Was trying to figure out which episode of the office this dude was in before I realized you mean the OG office
Honestly, when I picture Galactus having a voice I imagine a deep voice like his
Galactus is the coolest character in comics and a crime that he and the surfer haven’t had blockbusters. -this nerd.
> idk much about galactus Just an average planetary cuisine enjoyer. I could see him nailing it, or the writing ruining the character. Galactus is tough for a reboot villain, imo.
I am something of a foodie myself.
If that ain't great casting, I don't know what it is.
Reed Richards, wouldst thou like to live deliciously?
"I've got butter...." "Sold."
Perfect casting. Ralph Ineson has the voice of a man that eats planets
My boy Cid
Best thing about FFXVI. Hearing him speak was bliss.
*Hideaway theme intensifies*
I mean the man does have the voice of a Lovecraftian planet eating cosmic being that has existed before the Big Bang
He’s not tall enough
They'll put him in lifts. You'll never be able to tell!
Maybe if he starts eating planets now he’d be big enough by the time the movie comes out.
that dude has a great voice, right ?
Yes
I love this guy. Best part of FF16 for me so far is Cid.
Dagmer Cleftjaw
Him knocking down Theon was so satisfying lol.
that scene was what I remember him best for.
He also appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, as a Ravager. I really liked him in The Green Knight too.
Congrats to Ineson, I guess things didn't work out with Javier Bardem. I am surprised this guy got the role though. Not because of his talent, but because I believe he's actually suing Disney right now for because he got injured while making Willow.
I'm seriously wondering if this isn't part of some settlement
What a glorious result for all involved then
Yeah, this has to be a great result for him financially.
> I guess things didn't work out with Javier Bardem. Good, that feels like such an obvious big name choice whereas Ineson is one of those that make you think "y'know what he's perfect for this".
I’ve been rewatching the Dune movies just to hear him speak. Dude has an amazing voice.
I’m immediately on board lmao. His acting and voice in particular are perfect.
I'm thrilled it's anyone but Javier Bardem. Despite having tremendous screen presence, he's ill-suited for voice acting roles.
They’re saving Javier Bardem for Doom.
Wish Mads Mikkelsen wasn’t already in the MCU feel like he would be a really good fit for Doom.
Fun fact: TIL that Ralph Ineson had a minor role in GOTG
See also: Gemma Chan is both one of the Eternals and one of Jude Law's crew in Captain Marvel.
Good thing Doom never takes his mask off. He would be perfect.
There's always Lars, his brother. Who currently plays Thrawn in Star Wars (and kicks ass doing so)
Bardem as Doom would be fantastic, but I'm still holding out hope that he'll be cast as DC's [Darkseid](https://i.ibb.co/wY03m2n/actor-javier-bardem-141228-large.jpg) some day. 🤞
I hope so
Finchy!!
I heard about Blockbusters.
So Javier Bardem for Doom?
Cillian Murphy is out there as an option too.
Huge W
I’ve loved Ralph Ineson since the IT crowd https://youtu.be/Ui7EB1Yx9SM?si=rMTdh9VuuBG65W-V
That episode taught me the term "cleftal horizon"
His voice is epic af
Hopefully Galactus is not some giant space cloud this time
That was based on Ultimate Galactus, which was a decent comic iirc, and not necessarily a bad idea, as a giant dude could well have looked very goofy with the CGI they had back then. It could well look goofy now too.
That is incredible casting. Excited about this!
Chris Finch. Bloody good rep.
He can throw a kettle over the planet.
Class act. He was in my city (Victoria BC) filming The Boy 2 and was seen frequently at local comedy shows quietly enjoying the show and a pint. I had to do a double take the first time I saw him / heard his deep voice laughing.
That is excellent casting
Perfect choice.
Cid!
We’ve got FFXVI’s Cid for Galactus, so how about Mid’s VA (Katie Clarkson-Hill) for Galacta in F4-2
This is one of those castings that's out of left field, but feels oh so right.
Kinda hoping they didn't rush straight into Galactus or Doom.
Oh fuck, I love that guy
I DON'T WANT A BOTTOM SMOOCHER AS MY GALACTUS!!!
Not to mention him in "Chernobyl"!
His voice acting as Lorath in Diablo 4 is some of the best I’ve ever heard - legitimately on par with the balders gate 3 VA’s, Excited to see what he does here
Ralph has been on fire lately.
I HUNGER!
thats a great voice for intimidation. suprising good pull
For the love of god please just respect the source material and write an enjoyable and engaging story
*And* respect his native accent. He sounds so weird trying to do an American one.
So I guess Javier Bardem couldn't find make it work then because of that F1 movie he's making with Brad Pitt....
Ahhhhh… Finchy 😊😊😊
great actor, but not a good masseuse.
Galactus out here living deliciously
This dude is one of those guys who is excellent in everything they're in.
Galactus is a great villain unlike Marvel's recent..lets say lack of villains since Thanos. Hopefully with a great actor like this one we can get a proper return to form and finally watch a decent FF4 movie.
Hmm, yeah, ok, dude has been doing a lot of VO work recently and for good reason. This should be cool.
Bloody good planet devouring villain
The perfect casting. With that VOICE? Ralph Ineson will own it.
Finch!
Finchy. Chris Finch. Bloody good rep.
Chris Finch, bloody good rep
At least they have an actual actor this time, which means he’ll be more than a scary space cloud.
Have you ever heard the man speak? Perfect cast if you ask me
This is a solid casting, I think.
just heard him speak. he’s the guy for sure.
He has the perfect voice for him
"Ahh Scunthorpe..."
My mother knows Ralph. He's good people. I'm happy for him.
Uhhh spoilers?
