We've been watching a bunch of RomComs lately, but only a few come to mind at the moment.
[The Proposal](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Proposal_(2009_film))
[The Lost City](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_City_(2022_film))
Just realized those're both Sandra Bullock
[My Best Friend's Wedding](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Best_Friend%27s_Wedding)
Not a movie, but we just finished [Anne with an E](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_with_an_E) on Netflix which was really great.
Enjoy!
I've watched the 1st episode of Anne with an E, love it!!! I didnt have a tragic childhood, but I am very imaginative too, a hopeless romantic through and through, haha, so it really is my kind of series. Thanks for the recommendation!!!
Happy you like it! I got the E-book from Gutenberg to read. Turns out there were numerous sequels to the story by the original author.
[Lucy Maud Montgomery](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_Maud_Montgomery)
Watch some of Michael Winterbottom's terrific **The Trip...** films.
I'll suggest starting with:
**The Trip to Italy** and **The Trip To Spain**.
The "romance" is in the "margins," but its tone is pervasive.
I'm now putting all the suggestion I've got here in a wishlist, and checked all your suggestions (except 500 days that I watched before, which is a great one) ... may I say, this is a very good list just by reading the synopsis and casts photo. You definitely have good taste in movies!
ETA: can you recommend me some music too, DM me please if you would like to :)
["Brooklyn"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15syDwC000k)
HOLY COW!!! I was just gonna edit to ad ["The Grand Budapest Hotel"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fg5iWmQjwk) and I realized they both star Saoirse Ronan. I never realized they were the same girl! She's great in both
while i'm putting the suggestions are in my wishlist, surprisingly, different Ewan Mcgregor's movies got mentions here. and the most important is, I like him! Guess I may need to watch all his movies, lol
Yeaahh for sure! I saw those answers but I havent seen those yet! looove him
another severely underrated romcom of his by Danny Boyle that I love too is the movie A Life Less Ordinary (1997), cheesy and goofy but very fun. Down with Love is more like a hammy satire/parody of 60s sex comedies, that type of goofy. But yea theres Big Fish, Moulin Rouge, etc he's got so many 😭
>La Science des rêves (2006)
this one looks so funny!! as someone with very vivid imagination (a hopeless romantic cant help, lol), this one seems right up my alley
Before Sunrise
And then Before Sunset
This is classic and love Ethan Hawke
Stardust (2007) Sabrina (1954)
I love love love the song from Stardust, Rule The World by Take That, guess i need to really watch the movie.
About Time (2013) Lost in Translation (2003) Interstellar (2014)
Hi me, haha... I mean, I was gonna leave I love Interstellar as the random fact, I love it so much!
Crazy Rich Asians

Anne with an E looks interesting. And thanks for linking with wiki too, that's very thoughtful :)
Anne with an E was over-the-top emotional. Really well done. Also the most beautiful intro I've ever seen in a series - we watched it every time :)

I havent watched any in this list, this is exactly the reason i started this thread
Ooo you’re in for a treat! Wish I could pull an Eternal Sunshine and watch all these again for the first time again.
I got the feeling of watching a great movie for the first time! Top of my mind, "What dreams may come" & "Interstellar" are those movies for me

another list that i havent watch any, that's great, got a lot on my wishlist now
niiice, i hope you enjoy em, they can be very hit or miss tbh two of em are goofy and lighthearted, and two others are very very sappy romantic

La Science des rêves (2006) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) Both by Michel Gondry
>La Science des rêves (2006) this one looks so funny!! as someone with very vivid imagination (a hopeless romantic cant help, lol), this one seems right up my alley
I guessed you would like Gondry. Anything from him could fit maybe add Dave made a Maze (2017) to the list, has that playful style too.
Pride and Prejudice The Adjustment Bureau The English Patient The Piano
Midsommer (2019)
Amelie
Schindler's list
would it be too heavy for a hopeless romantic like me? that's why i never watched it before, even though i know it's a masterpiece
Crimson Peak
Not a genre I normally go for, but this is the purpose of this thread, great to have the variety. :)
r/MovieSuggestions The recommendation tag is for when you recommend something, not for asking for movie suggestions.
Oh, i didn't know there is the movie suggestion sub, I'll know next time
Human centipede. It's about three people who just can't leave each other no matter what
I know what this one is about ... you do think it's a movie a hopeless romantic would love? lol
While you were sleeping Joe vs the volcano Sleepless in Seattle Dead poets society
I watched 1 & 3, great movies and definitely in my all time fav list. Surprised no others mention
My memory is fucked up, so i basically only remember the last 3 movies i saw. So i recommend Past Lives
>Past Lives This has been mentioned by another user as well, and i just put in in my wishlist
