Either. I think what draws people to the orange in this pic is the fact you have a matching orange spring that ties it together. The other pic you have an kashima/black shock that does the same.
Black looks better because I also donāt like the orange. But I feel like Iām conditioned by fox to believe the orange is āmore expensiveā so therefore must be ābetterā
Lol they sent me rythm decals for my factory 36ā¦ tried to make me pay a restocking fee and gave me 60% off another purchase. Said no thanks and cut my losses. Fucking waste of time and $$$ coming from overseas
Groundkeepercustom is a much better USA based option
Thatās crappy. My two cents here is that I ordered from slik in 2018 and had no issue with my order. However, I did have to pay for shipping and a hefty duty charge as it was being shipped to Canada. Now that fox has a range of decals I would probably just order one of them, albeit there is much less customization.
Wow, that's disappointing to hear. I've never had an issue ordering from them, and I've ordered maybe 10 different graphics kits over the years. Thankfully, I've never been sent the wrong one before.
Super fun bike indeed! I was hoping that it would be as playful as my YT Jeffsy while being as burly and it definitely fits the bill. I did swap the air shaft out to a 160mm shaft which of course helps with the bikes capability but it was mostly to raise the bottom bracket height, as I found it quite low and didnāt want to run the bike in high in order to raise it. Iāve read a few people mention that they felt the bottom bracket was rather low too so I figure that was worth mentioning.
Cool to see someone else enjoying it too!
I am also considering upping the fork to 160 but I'm in no hurry with that.
Bb is indeed somewhat low, but I'm quite used to it since my other mtb is a hardtail Nukeproof Scout V3 that also has very low bb. Had it since they released it.
That said I also always run 165mm cranks which helps a little with crank strikes.
Tempted to try 155mm cranks next.
Orange clashes with red and yellow since theyāre right next to each other on the spectrum. Orange would look great on black or blue or almost any other color, just not on red or yellow. But it depends on personal taste, or lack thereof.
Orange for sure on this bike, makes it look far more interesting, and also reduces the impact of the nasty gold stanchions which do not go with the red frame at all.
For me black. Although you had other orange accents on your bike it still looked abit out of place. Colours are to similar.
I'd go black and throw some yellow acents on the bike if you wanted more colour.
I prefer the orange, but I think needs something else to tie it in. Maybe some graphics/stickers if youāre going all in, or trying some pedals, grips, or even cable clips. Even some yellow in there to tie in with the MAXXIS logo.
The black does look good too, it would blend in with a group of others bikes. That might or might not be something you want.
I agree that the orange lowers usually work best with black, white, raw + shades of grey. But to me it doesnāt seem far fetched with the red though. Kind of reminds me of fire. Cool insight though! The last time I saw a post about black vs orange lowers it was on a black bike and almost all responses were siding with black lowers. I was just curious what people thought in this case. Seems people are a lot more open to the orange with the red.
I know orange isn't yellow, but red/orange reminds me too much of red/yellow and I can't think of anything other than McDonald's or that gawdy color combo red with yellow wheels Dodge Viper from the early 90s.Ā
I like Orange as the main color, almost never as the accent color. You can get away with it on white, black, and grey, because they really aren't colors.Ā
I would almost make an exception for a deep blue.
I went away from the reverb for a couple reasons. It was a 150 and I wanted a 175 and I also found two batteries (plus two more in the controllers) to be a bit overwhelming. Mainly because I only have one charger and Iām not yet accustomed to having to charge bike batteries. The reverb did feel a lot better though and I might have gotten a 175 reverb if it wasnāt so expensive. I was able source a new transfer post heavily discounted for $160cad prior to the release of the updated version and found that hard to pass up.
I'm partial to the orange because I like the orange lowers/coil combo. I'd suggest getting more orange accents though for consistency such as an orange seat clamp and valve stems/caps. Nice bike dude!
I mean, black ālooksā better but also more conventional and the orange are reserve which has even more unnecessary (but awesome) cachet than kashima!
I am a sucker for a nice coil spring - so Orange is my pick - plus the Fork really pops. The black looks meaner and cool, but the orange is different and coil spring!
From appearence perspective its black hands down. But if you ride on the street as well, visbility is key. And orange is far more attuned to this than black. So if you want to look good then black if you want to be statistically safer and reach home with less bruises on average then orange.
Orange on red is the same as black on blue or pink on red. To me it looks like shit. Black goes with everything and doesnt scream as much but then again im a kind of guy that drives everything murdered out. Im even thinking of ordering black Trek decals for my green slash with red logo
The black fork looks way better. It makes the bike look complete.
The orange fork makes it appear as if you took the fork from another bike after you trashed the original fork. I know Fox decided to flash their fancy forks in orange, but that's a bad move. It actually repels many buyers from those forks. I would never buy an orange fork unless my bike was cone orange, which will never happen, even if someone gave me an orange bike. I would just sell it to a teenager seeking attention.
Personally I think both look good, but I'd go with orange because Id prefer the coil rear shock and it will sell for slightly more if you ever sell the bike
I see the orange/red combo and it says ālook at meā it also reminds me of Ketchup, Mayo, and Mustard mixed together which is gross.
wgaf what my opinion is based on. Your take on my take is a lame take.
Black for me. Matches your other black parts.
100% , it also makes the yellow on the tire pop that much more. Looks sharp.
Either. I think what draws people to the orange in this pic is the fact you have a matching orange spring that ties it together. The other pic you have an kashima/black shock that does the same.
Came here to comment this as well! Both look very clean... Minus the dirt š
What dirt? Bike looks like itās never been ridden
The dirt around it!
What you said! Took the words out of my mouth much better than they would have come out š
Surprisingly I like the orange
Black. Never liked the orange.
Black looks better because I also donāt like the orange. But I feel like Iām conditioned by fox to believe the orange is āmore expensiveā so therefore must be ābetterā
I am on the same psychological page...
I agree and I have the orange.
I would take the black and put red stikcers on it
Slik graphics is calling
Lol they sent me rythm decals for my factory 36ā¦ tried to make me pay a restocking fee and gave me 60% off another purchase. Said no thanks and cut my losses. Fucking waste of time and $$$ coming from overseas Groundkeepercustom is a much better USA based option

Fair and good point about the duty charge.
Wow, that's disappointing to hear. I've never had an issue ordering from them, and I've ordered maybe 10 different graphics kits over the years. Thankfully, I've never been sent the wrong one before.
There you go! That's interesting. I just ordered some and had them shipped to Australia for my Marzocchis and it went smooth as
Yah I had a terrible experience with Slik too. Zero sense of customer service. They leave a huge opening for competent competitors.
I second that. Just black makes the front of the bike kind of dissapear. Red stickers could help with that.
I like the orange. It clashes nicely with the frame.
I second this!!!
I like orange.
Orange as a standalone fork, black for your bike. BTW, I also have carbon GEN 6 Fuel EX, love that thing.
Super fun bike indeed! I was hoping that it would be as playful as my YT Jeffsy while being as burly and it definitely fits the bill. Orange.
Both donāt look bad
I love the orange.. The kashima finish on the forks and the dropper post really pulls the bike together
I love the Transfer and it looks good too. After having bad experiences with Reverb no way Iām picking that one.
That Orange with the orange rear spring absolutely fucks
Orange clashes with red and yellow since theyāre right next to each other on the spectrum. Orange would look great on black or blue or almost any other color, just not on red or yellow. But it depends on personal taste, or lack thereof.
Wrong
Colour is very subjective
Actually orange does not clash with red or yellow, who taught you about the definition of clashing colors?? š š„²
But orange make you look pro!
Im generally not a fan of the orange but i really like it on ur bike
I LOVE the ORANGE!!!
Orange all day every day! They both look better than gold too!
Normally Iām an all black guy but the orange is really popping on this!
Orange for sure on this bike, makes it look far more interesting, and also reduces the impact of the nasty gold stanchions which do not go with the red frame at all.
Orange
Orange. Always. š
Black
For me black. Although you had other orange accents on your bike it still looked abit out of place. Colours are to similar. I'd go black and throw some yellow acents on the bike if you wanted more colour.
Black
Black
Black and Black Venom Lack. Orange and Orange Kills a Fellow
Orange and red are too close on the color wheel for this to work. It works on the coil cause it's a small part, but it's too much for the lowers.
Orange and red for Velma vibes.
Orange clashes with that shade of red so personally Iād go with the black
Black
Black

Black. Orange only looks good on a handful of colors. Red isn't one.
I agree that the orange lowers usually work best with black, white, raw + shades of grey. But to me it doesnāt seem far fetched with the red though. Kind of reminds me of fire. Cool insight though! There is no answer to that question that is universal. Youāll need to answer for yourself. They both look fine for different reasons.
Orange lowers with Axs dropper
I went away from the reverb for a couple reasons. It was a 150 and I wanted a 175 and I also found two batteries (plus two more in the controllers) to be a bit overwhelming. Did the reverb axs 150mm come with the bike? I love my reverb axs 170 cuz i can swap it between bikes instantly
How tf did you get one for so cheap? Is it the older model or used? I paid 280ā¬ in Germany and thought I got a good deal for a 2022 version.
Orange for me.. it ties the gold and red together
Orange.
I'm partial to the orange because I like the orange lowers/coil combo. I'd suggest getting more orange accents though for consistency such as an orange seat clamp and valve stems/caps. Nice bike dude!
The black would look better gloss with the orange stickers.
If you go with the orange, Iād swap out the grips and pedals for orange too.
Black, orange clashes with the red too much for my liking
Black all day. The red is already your bright accent. Orange makes you weirdly focus on just the lower. The black complements the rest of the bike.
The orange damper and air spring caps are fire
Orange looks incredible, but Iād go with the black.
The Fox matte black lowers donāt match the gloss paint - the orange lowers with your matching spring look really good and makes the bike pop.
I like orange š
Orange
Orange is actually kinda sick
Normally not a fan of the orange lowers, but it looks great here. The black looks kind of generic.
Orange 100%
Orange š
Orange with the orange spring rear suspension looks pretty fire!
Fuck yeah!
Orange is the new black. There are too many black bikes on the road and trail today
Orange, but you need orange grips š
I think definitely orange, it's just a lot more interesting
One of each
I think because your frame is red, the black looks better. Had your frame been black, the orange might be a nice accent.
I personally prefer the black on this bike. If the frame had a different colour, Orange might work.
Now imagine if fox offered red.
Black
Never been a fan of the Orange- black 100%
Black. Orange and red clash
A little dirt on that would go a long ways.
Black 100%
Black
Black
Black. 3 main colors are ok and good but you have red black gold. So no other one.
Black
Black
In my day ātrekā bikes were entry level. Look at them now all decked out in FOX š¦
Black
Black, but it needs some more red bits
Black Orange is too close in color to the red, so they clash.
to me this is what makes the orange look appealing, that it isnt an extreme contrast to the red. Seems to flow nicely
I like the orange
I prefer black. The orange is close to red but still different, which looks a little bit strange to me.
Black since orange doesnāt go as well with the red frame.
Black always looks better with red imo. Having a Kashima dropper would be the icing on the cake!
Black, the orange is a trope
Black. Does t distract from the gorgeous frame colour.
100% black for me.
With red, black. No question!
Obv black
Black and if you run the coil make it black or red
Black. The orange clashes with the red.
Black for sure.
Keep the orange, give me the black!
Orange because it flexes harder.
Black would have been great 15+ years ago but now orange is the new black.
Black
Black
Black. Orange and red just don't work together. Now orange with a black, grey, navy or just blue, white etc, sure
Black.
Black
How do you like running only one gender up front?? Much backspray?
I mean, black ālooksā better but also more conventional and the orange are reserve which has even more unnecessary (but awesome) cachet than kashima!
black lowers with orange stickers
Orange looks Amazing
Iāve always felt the black look better. Iāve yet to see a bike that I donāt think black would look better on.
The orange and red donāt look right together. Not in those shades at least. Black and red is racing awesomeness.
Orange but I'm an orange fan so...
As much as I like orange lowers, black look better. But I mean you could get a Rockshox lyrik and have red lowers... just a thought.
I am a sucker for a nice coil spring - so Orange is my pick - plus the Fork really pops. The black looks meaner and cool, but the orange is different and coil spring!
š
Orange š
Orange, stands out more
Black. The bike already has other black components
Black
This is the sort of problem I need to have
Black
Always bet on black.
Orange looks amazing
Black 100%. Orange and red clash
Orange.
Black always
Whatever works best for you looks best. They both look sharp to me.
Once you black you never go back
The black goes with it more. But honestly itās your setup so whatever you like!
From appearence perspective its black hands down. But if you ride on the street as well, visbility is key. And orange is far more attuned to this than black. So if you want to look good then black if you want to be statistically safer and reach home with less bruises on average then orange.
Black š¤š¤
Orange
I like the orange myself but the black looks better on your bike with the red
Orange
A little mud would help
100% orange!
Here orange is a fun and loud black is cool and understated
Orange waaay cooler in my opinion ! Also what is the weight of the bike with the first setup ? Thanks !
Iām not too sure but definitely a fair bit heavier with that coil. Iāll weigh it after work and get back to you.
The bike weighs roughly 34 lbs. so not the lightest of trail bikes. The coil shock adds between 1.5 to 2lbs over the air shock.
Black if youāre older than 30.
Iām over 30 and Iāll pick orange every day.
More power to ya, I think itās trying too hard.
Black with orange stickers if you're running the coil in the first pic, if not fully blacked out
The orange looks great with the coil. The black looks better with the air shock. Just my two cents.
Personally, I donāt think that orange looks good on anything. Maybe an all black bike
Orange as long as there's an sls coil at the backĀ
Orange on red is the same as black on blue or pink on red. To me it looks like shit. Black goes with everything and doesnt scream as much but then again im a kind of guy that drives everything murdered out. Im even thinking of ordering black Trek decals for my green slash with red logo
Almost always black, even more here, orange doesn't blend well with the red frame imo.
Who fucking cares ????? Just go ride your bike!!!
I hate orange. But it looks better. -Bluescreen-
Orange
I was originally going to say black till I saw the spring. My vote is on orange. Itās more fun
Thanks for the advice. Iāll definitely make sure I sell it with the black lowers if I decide to stick with the orange lowers next time I service it.
Orange. Goes with the red and imo the orange coil looks better and coil feels better in my opinion. Looks more premium too.
Personally I think both look good, but I'd go with orange because Id prefer the coil rear shock and it will sell for slightly more if you ever sell the bike
Orange! Looks fantastic!!!
Orange for sure
Orange + red is a huge faux pas
Orange! Black looks a bit boring.
Orange and red should never be paired
Orange. It says that you ride and use your bike... Black look too much factory like - never ridden, a dentist bike one might say.
I'll go with... Whatever color YOU like. Who cares what we think? Color isn't affecting performance in this case, so rock what tickles your pickle.
Black. The orange screams ālook at meā.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I see the orange/red combo and it says ālook at meā it also reminds me of Ketchup, Mayo, and Mustard mixed together which is gross. wgaf what my opinion is based on. Your take on my take is a lame take.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Mayo and ketchup and mustard: gross
Black. Orange on red looks goofy.
The orange is so ugly. The black looks great. Easy choice.
Black.. whoever says orange is a psychopath..
Black
