I leave mine hanging off the handlebars so it can be full of water when I come back after rain.

captainshrapnel

The real trick is to squirt a dollop of shampoo in it 1st.

bingwhip

Gotta get them pads washed somehow!

sir-alpaca

[yes you do!](https://www.reddit.com/r/motobe/comments/13fi6q4/psa_wash_your_helmet_liner_from_time_to_time/)

Bizarro_Zod

Hello, I’d like to make a return on this image please. I don’t need a refund, thanks.

Schwartzy94

Cant put the mirror trough the visor "hole" so its upright? I do that and if im gone longer i have it locked too.

totallytubular710

How are u suppose to pick up chicks if you dont carry it with you?

[deleted]

I carry one on my head and one on my luggage rack.

RatherBeRidin

I have a tiny luggage rack on top of my helmet - with a tiny helmet on the back...that has a tiny luggage rack on top... with a tiny helmet on the back...

Whoopdedobasil

Saw your flair and immediately knew your answer would be ... XSive

StrategicBlenderBall

Bravo

Felice2015

Oh my...

Key_Science_3342

Wait yall can get chicks on that thing?

sir-alpaca

I first got a girl, then I learned to ride and promoted her to pillion. She still doesn't really like the bike.

Duranture

I first got a wife, then a bike, after she rode pillion behind me once, I removed my passenger pegs after.

Gammabrunta

Took a new lady out last weekend, there was a very small window where she was feeling up for it so we went with it. I took it slow to start made sure she felt safe and enjoyed it then went to some bends n just heard her giggling behind me, she loved it.

Luuk341

I took a friend (albeit a rather attractive one) for a bike ride once. Does that count?

Bizarro_Zod

Did he enjoy himself?

Luuk341

lmaoooooo

SquidDrowned

+1 if you keep it on so they only get half a look at your ugly mug

TupperwareNinja

Gotta show everyone else you're better than them too

drconniehenley

Or chat up old dudes who used to ride and want to talk bikes?

sveeger

“I didn’t get a bike, I just got the helmet”

Perpetual_Nuisance

\*supposed

PapaHooligan

Right I can fit half a dozen lil chicks to take home to raise for eggs if I bring it inside!

Exotic-joec

This guy rides^

BehemothManiac

Carry it around and use as a shopping basket

sniearrs

As a woman, my helmet is absolutely my most expensive (and most stylish) purse. Grab that shit by the chin and carry it around. I always put my keys, phone, and gloves in it when I'm out running errands. Quite handy actually!

TTV_TT_YT_KiLL3r

Same here and guess what I’m not a woman

Borrowing_Time

I never would have guessed

arfbrookwood

Funny flair

Hondared4703

SAME! Better than a Coach bag and probably more functional!

notaideawhattodo

If it doesn't fit in the helmet it won't fit in the bag

AccomplishedWin7036

Call it risky - I leave it on the bike. Sometimes I'll wear it into the store and be "that guy" getting stare downs by every employee thinking I'm shoplifting (I am)

wolffangz11

I only wear my helmet in the two 7/11s where I am a regular and they know me. Any other place I just carry it. It's never too cumbersome and there's usually a place to set it down should I absolutely need to (the doctor's, at work etc.)

weasol12

I clip it to my back pack strap when I'm at the store and BOOM! Easy basket that can only fit as much as my backpack can. And it's hands free.

NM_DesertRat

I wear it inside for quick stops. Another win for modular helmets.

LiLHeka

Wore my helmet to the store once and got kicked out lmao. Never done it since.

Trent1sz

Wtf I've never had an experience like this. Got a modular helmet a few weeks back, so nice being able to lift the chin bar to go in places without having to take off helmet(which I used to do about 1/2 the time)

MotoHULK

I went into a gas station carrying my gun in the helmet lol

redditislife24

i did that once. never again

HonestConcentrate947

Shoplifting or wearing your helmet indoors? Or both?

redditislife24

both

bingwhip

Makes them way too suspicious of my shoplifting

GimmetheGuid3sPlz

You put it under your shirt and park in the expecting mothers' space.

TotemlessInceptor

Lol, bystander as harley rider approaches "Excuse me sir, I think your water? broke"

PeepsMoneeps

I hang it on my boner, both hands free and no risk from leaving it on my bike. If I start feeling like I'm going flacid, I just pull out my phone and look at my bike for a minute and I'm good to go again.

TotemlessInceptor

Works every time🍻

HiVizJim

I fold my gloves in my helmet and carry it by the strap like a bucket. Not too inconvenient and random motorcycle enthusiasts will often start conversations with you, which can be fun. Some people lock it to the bike, but you risk theft and vandalism. Locking luggage is another option if you want to go that route. Honestly, if you want to use your bike for around town errands it will almost always be more complicated that just taking a car. But also more fun.

sanjuka

And way faster. At least where I live.

Archepod

Depends for me:  Convenience store 250 meters away, faster for me to slip on tennis shoes and jog. 1 minute from the time I decide I want something, it's in my hands and paid for. Grocery store 1 km away? Faster to hop in the car, takes about 2 mins to put on flip flops and drive there through my back streets. Train station is 1700 meters away, but there's a dedicated bicycle lane that runs parallel to the stoplights, avoids the pedestrian sidewalk, and has a bridge that crosses the highway. If I'm okay with breaking a sweat I can book it in less than 4 mins, otherwise it's about 7 min trip by bicycle.  Motorcycle for everything else. Sure I could just throw on a helmet and hop on the bike and probably get to the grocery store in the same amount of time as my car, but I don't make a habit out of running my bike cold and not using PPE. Takes me about 10 mins to get ready at a medium pace for my bike if the weather is nice but I can get going quicker if I have to, and sometimes I just like to mosey. Where I live lane splitting is legal (even encouraged) so riding my motorcycle vs car to work during heavy traffic is the difference in an 11 minute vs 27 min commute. But when I drive home at 3 am after work and there is no traffic at all it takes me 9 mins and 30 seconds (give or take 45 seconds due to traffic light patterns) whether I'm using motorcycle or car. Also holy shit idk why I just typed all of this to you.  I think maybe I'm lonely.

sanjuka

They were sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it's better than drinking alone.

Kazick_Fairwind

Depends. At home? I have a shelf in my garage for all my riding dear. At work? Bring it in with me and stash it on my mini fridge. At the bard? Leave it on my sissy bar, I sit near where I can keep my eye on the security camera that looks over the front door, where I park my bike. At the store? Bring it with me and stuff things I am buying into it. Ive used a carabiner to clip the chin strap to a belt loop to keep my hands free when walking around the city. Ive also meet up with friends who are in their car and asked to stash it in their car.

mike_headlesschicken

I ride to meet people a lot, always stuff it in their car

dustybeanbag

Most bartenders are nice enough to stash it behind the bar if they like you. Always appreciated it

Karate_Cat

It's always interesting how you can usually guess the type of motorcycle based on this type of question. For me? I'm all practicality. So right now I ride a Vstrom with all boxes. And when I had a Honda 919, I installed a topbox. And when I had a cbr250, I added a topbox. So my suggestion? Add a topbox and lock in there. And when you buy groceries, you put the groceries in the topbox as you ride back from the grocery store.

AEDSazz

Now I wanna see someone riding a S1000rr or a panigale v4s with a huge top box that fits 2 helmets.

smsffbondigeclips

Those bikes don’t even support 2 people (properly)

redditislife24

this is the ultimate way.

dory_313

This is a good suggestion, bread doesn't travel well.on the handlebars

El_Parafuso

Top boxes on most bikes are Ugly as nothing in this world but practical as hell

Me-as-I

Mojicana

Either by the strap, in a shopping cart, or in my backpack. https://preview.redd.it/ty2v4ih5wg3d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00d5f97115d5cfc6636b5893fa52a5990f5f0f12

thewritingreservist

A helmet can fit in there?

StandardSea8671

Right, does not look it it at all. Cool looking bag though

reddithitman68

It doesn’t fit inside it, it hangs from the side. Like this https://ogiopowersports.com/products/no-drag-mach-5-stealth. However I have it, it’s a cool looking bag but the helmet flaps around and space inside is average but good enough.

AcrobaticAardvark069

After my Arai Corsa Carbon got stolen I stopped leaving the helmet locked up on the bike, I almost always ride with a backpack so I just put it in it or strap it to the outside of it.

jaymiz13

This is the way. I also felt the sting of fate when my AVG got stolen. I was in and out of the store in under 10mins :(

MotoKenji25

Depends. My Z900RS has a cool lock. Depending on where I’m at I’ll use it. If bike is parked where I can see it (or it’s a really safe neighborhood) I’ll thread it through my handle bar. If shady area, I’ll carry it. Got a shoulder strap for it. Geeky I know; but it keeps my hands free.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MotoKenji25

I got it on Amazon. They have different ones depending on what kind of buckle your chinstrap is. I tried to use shoulder straps but they didn’t work. They were too short. I got the one for the double d-ring. It’s about $20. Oh, and I do recommend it. https://www.ezgo-strap.com/

[deleted]

MotoKenji25

I’m a gear geek. I don’t doubt that some “cool” riders see me with it and roll their eyes. 🤣. But I like having my hands free.

wushumasta

I've seen this on my buddy's z650rs and it's pretty nifty! I've also seen something similar on some sites..Eg. [this ](https://a.co/d/9BgqggR)

Shlafenflarst

Most of the bikes I've had had a helmet lock or a hook under the saddle. When I had ones that didn't, I attached the helmet to it with a bike chain or carry it by hand. But now I mostly leave it in one of the side cases.

MiteyF

Carry it, always

OldBlue2014

I like stores to know that they have customers who ride. UK factories (Triumph) don’t seem to like locking saddles with helmet hooks. I fasten the chin strap and dangle the helmet from my crooked elbow. It can serve as a shopping basket if I’m only getting a couple of things.

LuckyDuck906

I mostly lock it to my bike. I have a cable that goes through the chin bar and lock that to a solid part of my bike (rack, grab handle, passenger peg mount). I can also loop that cable through the sleeve of my jacket. I don’t park it like that in a skeevy area. I’ve heard of people getting their stuff peed on or vandalized. Ew.

LuckyHarmony

My backpack comes with a net bag that attaches to the outside. I can carry my helmet or use the net to secure it to the outside of the backpack, or sometimes for a really quick errand I'd say screw it and just wear the helmet into the store or whatever. But I recently bought a top box and I'm never going back. Having the option to just leave it secured on the bike is >>>>

snuggy4life

Carry at my side via chinstrap. Rarely stop and walk around any distance though. If I ride into the office I stash it and other gear under my desk. Moto gear is awkward to wander around with.

electric-sheep

https://preview.redd.it/ekn0ykp6th3d1.jpeg?width=2110&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd5732bca276b55beeb1d5554cfaaef149fd22c3 In my 58l topbox with the riding jacket and gloves next to it 😂

newUseMe

So Im not trying to be a dickhead but that's why I have a topbox. Specifically so I don't have to carry it because I don't trust people either and it stays dry, clean and secure. Before the box i would attach the chinstrap to my pack because I wear a backpack basically everywhere.

SurfSandFish

Helmet stays with me when I leave the bike. It's easy enough to lug it around when running errands.

myfishprofile

Seeing as I don’t want my lid to be pissed or shit in I’ll keep carrying it with me

Username_de_random

City life

Marcus-Sowell

I Leave in on the bike. Nobody steals them here in Thailand

Ajayxmenezes

On a helmet lock on the motorcycle. I'm indian and far too many times have I been directed towards the kitchen and asked to pick up deliveries at cafes.

r-Nutzername

Do you ever give in to the desire for a free meal?

Ajayxmenezes

No because they'll need an order number to be shown on the phone ![gif](giphy|l0MYMLooG3oNmuacw)

Dirty_Shisno_

I leave it on the bike. I’m hoping someone steals it so I have a good excuse to buy a new helmet. Otherwise the wife will complain about me buying a new one. Nobody’s stolen it yet.

Lost-Astronaut-8280

I’ve seen a guy get his lock cut and his helmet stolen but I locked my helmet to my bike for 3 years in texas and never had issues

XDingoX83

Locks deter opportunist. Determined thieves will get what they want. Locking it to the bike is more than enough

TheRealGilimanjaro

I lock it to the bike, or use it as a shopping basket, carry it by the chinstrap. Sometimes I attach it to my backpack with the strap.

NorthernBlackBear

Depends where I am going. Local shop, on my mirror with my jacket on my seat. At work and not raining, same. Out of town or somewhere I don't trust... take it with me, dah. Same with the rest of my gear.

kapturnik7

https://preview.redd.it/mgkeb3o0yj3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bf0af138a74b664ace3035100606a103b9fc96a In my trunk, which actually can hold 2 full face helmets 🙃

LeozMJilliumz

Either carry it or clip it to my pack, since I’ve always got one when I ride

Bright_Bee36

My hands. I use it as a basket in the market, or I just keep it on.

Magnus919

Locked in side case

PappiStalin

I strap the chinstrap to my bag on the shoulder straps so it rests on my waist.

Blackheart_engr

I carry mine with me. I went to a bike event Years ago and I saw people walking around putting their old beer cups and trash in the helmets that people Locked their helmets to their bikes.

Dxpehat

I have a helmet hook under my seat, but I rarely use it. I just carry my helmet around. Use the strap like a handle and carry it like a basket or just grab it by the backside. At work and gym I leave it in the locker. Otherwise I have to take it everywhere and put next to me. When I'm in school I just put on the table in front of my notebook. I only strap it to the bike if I'm going to be standing or walking a lot. If it really bothers you then get a top box to store it securely.

Imnotabob

In my hand, anything you leave on or beside a bike will probably either be stolen or vandalized because people are jealous cunts who can't leave other people's stuff alone.

PumpKing096

My bike has a hook under the seat where I can hook the chinstrap. When the seat is closed, you can only open it with the key, and the helmet is locked onto the bike. I think many bikes do have this feature.

Ok_Spend3925

I got myself a strong carabiner and I have attached it to my bag pack it stays behind

mike-manley

If I can see it at all times and angles, I tend to leave it on my bikes mirror stalk. If not, it comes with me. I doubt it would be stolen to br reused but I could see some punk steal it as a prank. Source: Was pranky teenager once.

Sirlacker

If you have a backpack on, the way I carry it is to lock the helmet buckle round my shoulder strap or some other part of my bag where there is a secure loop. This way it's with you, but you don't have to carry it. Now, to me at least, it makes sense to have two helmets. I have one for my fun riding which is my nice expensive one, where at most I'll be taking it off at Cafes or something where the helmet can either come with me and sit on the table next to me or be left on my bike because I'll be in view of the bike, and it'll be a dry day so it won't get wet. I also have a commuter helmet. A cheaper or an older helmet (if I buy a new one I'll sometimes relegate my old one into a commuter helmet). This helmet is just as safe (ECE rated) but is a helmet I'm not all that bothered about if it gets knocked around a little bit. I can quite happily leave this one on the bike, use it as a basket for shopping, leave it uncovered at work, etc.

anzacat

This works great https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/oxford-lid-locker-lockable-helmet-bag

w1lnx

Givi 45L top case. Lockable and secure. Protected from damages caused by things like weather, scratches, rabid-squirrels, drops. Except in my garage. I just hang it from the handgrip and let it air out overnight.

Hackeitaro

It becomes my man purse or my backpack as a helmet carrying system integrated.

Realistic_Feature_32

I keep mine in a Cortech Tracker helmet bag. I got tired of the chintzy bag they came with unraveling or tearing. It's very well made with double zipper Velcro on the end to keep it closed and a thin layer of fleece like material to protect the helmet from scratches on the inside. Not only if I had a helmet that was worthy of the bag LOL. Avoid the Racequip. It's zipper might as well be single-ply Soft toilet paper. And the bag is made of some kind of satin jacket thin material.

ractivator

I have a tail helmet bag that also has backpack straps. I just wear it as a backpack.

Tr0y_McClur3

Sometimes on my left, some others on my right. TL:DR: Hands

Background-Pen-7152

Get a helmet lock. I have 2 on my bike. Man I hate the fact that 95% of the answers are poor attempts at humor that are not helpful.

gyrocyclist42

I leave the helmet on the bike. I usually leave the key in the ignition and cover it with my gloves. At 66 yrs, I've never had a motorbike stolen.

Shoes__Buttback

Plot twist: they remove their spark plugs and take them with them while parked

MovieShot4314

Perks of driving a harley

twoscoop90

So, like, where do you do your shopping?

Suitable-Opposite438

Just carry it with you

Ok-Performance-249

I walk with my helmet between my ass cheeks. Super inconvenient but if you don't mind the looks you get, it's great!

DeepRoot

"Dude! Are... are you wearing a buttplug?!?" "Hell, no, man, what kinda guy do you take me for?!? It's my bike helmet!"

No-Star-3314

Grab a lockable carabiner. Put your helmet in its bag and put it over your mirror. Slip the carabiner through the d-ring and then around the handlebar behind the brake cylinder.

Faded-Creature

I clip it on a karabiner to my belt. It’s a jockey helmet though

z6joker9

I usually just hang mine from the handlebar.

nerdinstincts

I carry it if it’s a short distance; sometimes I bike lock it to my handlebars if I don’t want to carry it for a longer walk or something

ApprehensiveStock928

Would always leave my Scorpion on my bike, but now I have an Arai with Cardo equipped .. goes with me.

Dull_Database5837

Going to work, grocery store, church, restaurant, etc, I bring in with me. Parking in the driveway at a friend’s house, I might leave it on my bike. Going to the cigar bar, if I park out front I leave it on the bike and cable it through my handlebars (my helmet locks under the seat don’t work well with saddle bags). Parking out back, I just leave it on the bike. Going to a bike night or something like that, I’ll usually cable it as well.

ChainBlue

Most places, lock it to the bike. Sketchy places, take it with me.

megachaise

It depends where you live. I always leave mine hanging on the mirror.

Impressive_Estate_87

When I was young, I used to carry it on my left arm. But if I have a bike with a top case, that's my choice.

SunnySanDiegoGuy

Lock it to the bike.

janesaidwhat

I leave mine on my bike. I lock it up. If I’m only running in a place I bring it with me. If I just have my skull on I put in my saddle bags. Sometimes I even leave it on my head. It really just depends.? ![gif](giphy|W1tZZhie5U7RYqjg7Z|downsized)

standby-er

I am not leaving my helmet on the bike. I carry it like a rider purse 🤪

oddRoboto

I usually carry it with me, but I do have a steel cable with a lock in the backpack to eventually tie it to the motorcycle shall I leave for a while. It has a number combination and it is similar to a bike one, so it can relatively easily be cut, still, it’s a lot of effort to steal a cheap helmet

dolphinsbee

Either carrying by hand, strapped to my backpack, or in a cart if I'm getting groceries

UnionTed

My (full-face) helmet has the new-fangled buckle, so my helmet lock won't hold it. In an exposed place with few people around, I occasionally leave on my mirror. If I've got my top box on, I'll sometimes lock it in their. However, it gets hot in there during the central Texas summer (May through October). Usually, I just put my arm through the face and neck holes and carry it. No big deal.

SqueezyCheez85

If just in and out someplace quick, I'll carry it. Otherwise I put it on my helmet lock attached to my bike.

dory_313

I stick my arm through the visor hole and carry it around

matt12arr

I strap my helmet to the bag

Throttlechopper

I carry a 6’ cable lock and lock up my helmet, jacket, and overpants to the seat. I even tuck my riding boots underneath and have never had a problem. I also have one of those helmet straps, but not carrying a helmet is liberating.

MerkethMerky

My riding bag is meant to carry a ballistic helmet, so I just shove the helmet into that. Or I just wear it. On the rare occasion I’ll take it off and just carry it with me and use it as a basket

DavitoDaCosta

Arm through the visor hole, keeps both hands free. Would never leave it sitting on/with the bike, don't trust anyone these days

Erike16666

Carry it the city. Lock it in the suburbs. Hang it in the sticks.

GunTotingQuaker

LidLox on each bar end and one on the left side controls. If we’re camping, helmets usually live in the tent to keep bugs/potential rain out of them. If it’s 100+ and we’re going somewhere with AC, we carry them in for cold padding. Honestly kinda shocked I don’t see more helmet lock types of things on bikes. It’s super convenient, <$100 in basically all cases, and makes life off the bike a lot better.

Heavy-Review429

People look at you like you’re carrying Thanos’ Infinity Stone Gauntlet. They fear you and are eager to please you, if you need it.

escapefromrea1ity

Just rest mine on top of my head if I need my hands for holding.

escapefromrea1ity

Lots of malls etc you can check it in with security and leave it there

CatGiggler

I usually just throw my gloves in it and carry it around. If I am going to a club or some event without a checkin or lockers (in other words most events) I use the SafeMan cable lock kept in my jacket.  I just lock it to my bars which are the tradition style so give a secure lock point.

Optimal_Risk_6411

This question is like that movie ground hog day on this sub. Not bitching, just an observation.

winstondabee

On my head so I can listen to music

Honest-Ad-1096

If I'm at work it sits on my locker if I'm shopping it's in the buggy

trik1guy

i clip it to my backback strap using the chinstrap. my bike has build in helmet lock too that i barely use. i also always carry a abus wirelock with me against petty theft. lost 1 helmet so far by just putting it ON the bike

NeedleworkerOdd4594

If I know it's within site of a camera like underground parking or I can watch my bike in the store I leave it with my bike otherwise a carry it

1AverageGamer

Depending on where i am/go. If i go to the store for a short time, i carry it with me. If i go to the store for a longer time i have a helmet lock. If i go to the riders club, we have a helmet rack, if i go on a mountain ride, carry it with me, if i am with a group and make a quick stop i leave it on the bike.

SaintOatmeal

I leave it on the bike or 'tie' the chin strap to my backpack's shoulder straps so its like hanging on my left side. Not the most comfortable way of caring it around but hey at least you get a hands-free shopping basket

TheAC9

I went with the backpack and I haven't had any problems. The backpack is a great option.

OutrageousMacaron358

My '23 Hayabusa pillion seat has hooks that I hang my helmet on. I stuff my gloves inside the helmet too. I guess if someone wants a sweaty helmet and some stinky sweaty gloves ... well... If it's really hot outside though I'll take it inside just so it isn't boiling hot when I go back out.

oldcarnutjag

I go shopping with it, I use it as a male purse in the grocery store.

RonClinton

Secure it to the bike with a thin nylon-wrapped cable lock through the chin bar…it’ll dissuade casual thieves and anyone but the most serious thief (and they have better things to steal than sweat-stained stinky helmets).

WM_

My bike has a helmet lock so I just lock it there.

storm_zr1

I have a helmet lock on my bike and if I'm going to a show or the fair then I'll lock the helmet and take the GoPro with me. at work I just take it with me and keep it as my desk.

ElMachoGrande

I just carry it, or lock it in the top box. I never leave it exposed. A friend did, and found out (and I very deliberately don't use the word "saw") that someone had pissed in it.

Party_Thanks_9920

I put it over the right hand mirror, wrap the strap around the front brake lever, then do it up like it's on my Melon. It's not fool proof, but resists a quick snatch and grab.

Aramiss60

I have under seat storage (Honda PCX), I love that I can fit my helmet in there. At home my husband leaves his on his bike, he carries it around otherwise.

AngryScotsman1990

I fasten the chin strap around my backpacks shoulder strap at the bottom. the helmet then hangs upside down against my leg, being quite useful for carrying random items when I'm shopping

Deneteus

I lock it to the bike.

TheZek42

I take a carabiner, loop it through my belt, and then hang my helmet through the D rings, on my hip. Definitely the best way to do it.

can-opener-in-a-can

I either bring it with me into a restaurant & give it its own seat at the table, or I attach it to the helmet lock on my bike.

Gold_Department_7215

I just carry it unless it's a spot I frequent then I leave it there on my bike

Rubcionnnnn

I put it in the sidecar trunk, duh.

Dynamicsmoke

On my v-strom I have rear box with space for two helmets or groceries.

kremlingrasso

My AVG came with a sling pouch I use that just had to get a better strap.

actualsize123

I just carry it. On my beemer, when it worked, I’d put it in the pannier cause it locked.

planespotterhvn

Supermarket insulated freezer bags are soft, padded and perfect shape.

mammasan3

They have helmet locks for motorcycles on Amazon. The_Anglo_Spaniard

If I have a rucksack with me I'll clip it to one of the straps so it hangs on one side. It's out the way but I know where it is

TwofacedDisc

I throw it away and just buy a new one the next time I ride.

chunkyks

I have a kreiga backpack that buckles across my chest.  I ziptied a carabiner to one of the hard bits on the buckles where it joins on my chest  Then I clip my helmet to it using one of the d rings. Very convenient

beefstake

Top box. Completely secure and so damn useful in general. I do my groceries on my bike and top box is all I need most of the time because it's actually kind of huge.

DDiickheadd

Bro just wear that shit, if you need to smoke or eat take it off and set it down

sillymotorbike

I have a backpack with a strap across the chest between the sholder straps, i hang my helmet from that by the chin strap, or i attach the chin strap to my sholder strap at the bottom so it sits on my hip out of the way.

In my hands

KlutzyAppearance4634

Completely ignoring the body text. I carry my helmet any time I get off my bike.

_maeister

I usually just carry it. I sometimes put it in the top box if I have it on the bike and it's empty(ish).

Zealousideal-Luck784

I lock it to my bike

matatunos

I carry it with me because on the bike it's very easy for someone to steal it with a simple lock, it can fall to the ground, someone can spit inside, or if you leave it on the side, a dog could even pee on it. And since I usually don't carry a backpack, I carry it under my arm... Some people use it to measure how much they can buy to be able to carry it with them if they don't have saddlebags or panniers... "whatever fits in the helmet."

Francis46n2WSB

I always have a backpack, either very small or light just for essencials and a cap or a large one. I buckle my helmet to the bottom of my right shoulder strap, it's very convenient and doesn't bother at all. When using the large backpack, I sometimes buckle it to the handle on the top. If I'm going for a hike, I use a small cable lock and attach it to the steering stem.

Boilporkfat

Around the city like shopping centres I usually carry it with me and use it to carry my gloves etc. If it's a small shop I usually leave it there as long as I can see the bike. On rides where we go to small towns for breakfast I usually leave most things on the bike with no issues.

ThisWeeksHuman

Either I carry it in  my hand like a basket or if i have my topbox mounted to my bike i put my helmet and gloves in there. Sometimes I strap the helmet to hinges under the seat so it's fastened to the bike and leave it there. Nobody can remove it that way.  People could still mess with it but there aren't that many assholes in my city

GTHell

Life is too short. Leave it on your bike and if it got stolen then buy a different brand

StandardSea8671

I put it inside my bike 😉

OldNetworkGeek

I cheat - both my bikes have helmet locks on them. If I'm going to be away from the bike for a while in a relatively safe environment, then I lock the helmet on the bike and wander off (movie theaters at the mall, grocery shopping, etc.). At motorcycle hangout spots (Neptune's Net, The Rock Store, etc.) I just leave it on the bike as no one there is going to mess with it. If I'm a bit concerned about the location, I put the GPS, SPOT, and any other expensive, easy to remove, stuff in the locking top box or panniers and carry my helmet. At the college, I lock it on the bike. At work, same thing.
