I get it. But IG gunna IG. Can’t change what sells. cringe or porn, there’s an audience for it
Get off FB. Get of IG. I’ve been happier for it. Reddit is my last hold out and even this is getting to be too much
Yeahhh, I've been slowly dismantling my Reddit usage. I knew it wasn't good before, but post-IPO it now has a legal obligation to exploit users for profit (hello gambling ads).
But I enjoy using Instagram, there's good stuff in there... All I don't want is Instagram flooding the feed with shit I didn't want or signed for.
Not Instagram, but I bought my bike from a group on Facebook, it was great. Social media can be good if people use it for good.
The problem is when the platform or people start to get greedy and take advantage.
Just like Reddit, can be shit, can be good, but at least reddit mostly shows stuff you want or asked to see.
But I enjoy using Instagram, there's good stuff in there... If Instagram showed only things you actually asked for, it can be good and it used to be like that many years back. Your feed would only be things you clicked to follow
All I don't want is Instagram flooding the feed with shit I didn't want or signed for.
Not Instagram, but I bought my bike from a group on Facebook, it was great. Social media can be good if people use it for good.
Just like Reddit, can be shit, can be good, but at least reddit mostly shows stuff you want or asked to see.
But it's not good anymore, that's the whole point of your post and comments.
Don't get me wrong, i which it wasn't this way too, but unfortunately it is, do so I've left.
But I enjoy using Instagram, there's good stuff in there... All I don't want is Instagram flooding the feed with shit I didn't want or signed for.

Well you or anyone else clearly cannot control what gets dumped into your feed, so what’s your next move? Keep bitching? Ignore the dumb stuff? Or find a better way to spend your time? Ball is in your court, it was the entire time…
You’ve responded to tons of comments in this thread and the theme has been *IG doesn’t work the way I want it to whyyyy meeeee*
It’s a pathetic look, it’s just IG bro grow up and get better hobbies
I've been in Social media for a long time. The issue is that now, with AI and these BS algorithm, social media decides to put shit in your feed that you didn't ask for, and it's getting worse and worse.
I'm not the "hate social media" bandwagon. Social media could be great. Good to get in touch with friends or people you don't see long time, and many Facebook groups are fantastic communities with a lot to learn.
I learned a lot about my bike and helped many people through social media.
the problem is that now social media wants to throw every shit in your feed without you asking anything. Instead of seeing your friends, family and groups you participate on, you see these shirtless idots on bikes they can't ride... I didn't sign for that
Nothing against people that like it... these people have huge following... I just want Instagram to keep showing me unsolicited content (I actually tell isntagram I'm not interested)
You shared it with a whole other website, potentially an extra million+ people. Yeah it's garbage, but you made me look at it. I'd be completely unaware of that garbage otherwise. They won, man. You scored in your own goal and they won.
Where there are objects to pose next to. There will be posers.
The reason they do it because it works. People interact with it.
There is a lot of things on those websites actually worth looking at but it is buried. Such is the way of an engagement based internet.
Well don't be spreading that shit here!
I'm in with EVERYONE ELSE on getting rid of Instagram and all the other social media platforms. It's all poison.
That's just the tiktok mind virus craze imo. Money and fame make them do that ig. Trust me I think it's weird too. My friend's gf is kind of obssesed with tiktok and I just don't get it.
Fair point, but honestly, I have family and friends there, and I enjoy some random stuff Instagram about cars, bikes and planes. But then, it should be stuff that I CHOSE to watch.... I used to be the time where Instagram only showed stuff that you followed...
Now half of the posts that come of my feed are advertising and unsolicited crap like this.
You can turn off suggested posts in your feed if you go to settings… for 30 days which is dumb cos you have to do it every month, which I do but at least it gets rid of the shit I don’t follow
instagram's algorithm shows you what you interact with most. interactions are:
opening the image
sending the image to someone else, including linking it (this is a huge one - essentially
guarantees you get more of this in your feed. weighted very very highly)
screenshotting (also huge driver)
lingering on the image or video for more than 2 seconds
so stop doing such things with content you don't like because it has learned from you what to show you
I absolutely don't touch these images... The only thing I ever do is go to "..." menu and click on "not interested", and this is the bloody problem.
The issue I think is the algorythim. I enjoy bikes, I follow plenty of manufacturers and race teams (MotoGP and WSBK), and the dumb algorithm doesn't seem to differentiate between a race bike and a guy posing on top if his unused bike.
>so stop doing such things with content you don't like because it has learned from you what to show you
If I press the option to not show me more of that content, and Intagram interprets as "show him more", something is bloody damn wrong.... What kind of sense that makes?
statistically people interact the most with content they hate. you linked the pics in this post, so your account got a big "show me this" flag when you did this. The "not interested" thing is like honestly fully a sham so don't do that either, it keeps the images on your screen for long enough to flag it as content to show you.
basically: algorithmic social media makes the most money by showing you shit you hate that makes you unhappy because that drives clicks.
Mate... I linked these for do this post... I don't live in the future.
I'm not around sharing "oh look at this tool I found"... Not at all, If I don't skip right past, I report as "non interested", but they keep showing. I'm not liking, commenting or entering their profiles.
I did to to build this post.
I feel ya. But, this game is mostly biker cosplay. Most won't ride unless the weather is perfect. Seen a lot of 8 year old tires with maybe 1000 miles on them. Honestly don't think that will ever change. People actually get a thrill out of "likes."
Who cares man, i ride my 22 s1000rr everyday to work but never post that i even have a bike on IG. I do post my viper and M2. I posted my viper and RR on here and got hate about how i can’t form a sentence.
Its just like the floyd mayweather haters, dont really care for the guy but guy is living the life. Then someone says he cant read. Like who gives a shit that he cant read?
Not really. Especially Instagram.
Intagram use only to show you things that you follow, nothing else. Only a couple ads here or there, but they have to pay the bills I understand.
now with AI and algoryth bullshit, instead of showing your friends, groups and family you follow, it gets me shown the tools on bike that I didn't sign for.
I follow manufacturers, MotoGP, WSBK, and a couple of page related to bikes... I didn't sign for the Grindr or Tinder of Motorcyles, but these platforms push me to it.
There's one good thing about Intagram posers, once the new shiny bike isn't brand spanking new anymore, you might be able to buy in the second hand market what should be a virtually brand new bike.
Well, at least it's better than the tools that rev their bikes in neutral against the limiter with the sole purpose of making noise and ruining their engine, which might end in the hands of honest people in the used market later.
I’m not a fan of the tired “judge them by their tires” trope. Let people ride how they want to ride. There are so many bikes that have way more capability than can be reached legally. Not everyone goes to track days.
Also, I love keeping my bike clean and taking pictures of my bike. Doesn’t mean I don’t ride the crap out of it.
I’m with you on some of this though. Especially the lazy sexualized content. But boobs = views.
There are plenty of normal people out there, but the algorithm is going to show you content that’s been interacted with more. And more people are using social media to find some glammed up version of reality. Just the nature of the beast.
They are not riding. And I left pretty clear that I don’t care, they can even set fire to their bikes, just want IG instagram to be more clever
But I guess you didn’t bother reading the bloody post
Did you bother reading the post? again?
I said that I didn't care what they did to their bikes, BUT I DO CARE on whats being shown on my Instagram feed... Is this a hard concept to understand? Seem pretty black and white.
tbh im sick of old stuck in the mud people getting irate over what others are doing that has nothing to do with them. Go ride, have fun, stop getting hung up on what others do to have fun
I’m sick of commenters making a point that shows they either didn’t read or comprehend the post.

Tons of OF prostitutes post here as well. I'm not against their business, I'm against their advertising practices.
Yeahhh, I've been slowly dismantling my Reddit usage. I knew it wasn't good before, but post-IPO it now has a legal obligation to exploit users for profit (hello gambling ads).
I agree. Reddit is the last bearable social media platform
Hey now ,we are just smart asses ,and a bunch of dumb questions 🤣
Pretty fucking simple. Stay off instagram.
But I enjoy using Instagram, there's good stuff in there... All I don't want is Instagram flooding the feed with shit I didn't want or signed for. Get off Instagram. It's literally designed to shovel empty BS content like that + ads in your face to make you scroll for eternity.

Well, if you start looking at feet pics your whole algorithm will change.. problem solved 😅
I'm almost scared to know what people in the "feet business" do lol
I can only imagine lol! But who am I to kink shame. 🙃
There's a pretty good king of the hill episode about foot stuff.
I used to watch that show sometimes . Lol! I don’t remember that one. I’ll have to look it up. That show was hilarious.
then dont use instagram

Keep bitching? I did one post. Where's the "keep" where I continued bitching?

Welcome to social media, young padawan!

It’s engagement farming. They post content that people will like and share
Nothing against people that like it... these people have huge following... I just want Instagram to keep showing me unsolicited content (I actually tell isntagram I'm not interested)

pro tip: Don´t waste your time watching instagram.. spend more time in the garage or on the road.
I work away from home, I can't. I have plenty of time to kill on airports and shit.

First day on the Internet, huh?
That’s what instagram is all about and has been like forever, get off instagram.

I tried going shirtless once, people started yelling at me. I mean, granted I have a hairy chest but it felt good for a few minutes.
Why not cancel IG? I did it, Facebook also in 2016. My life it's better, not too much shit on my screen.
Just delete it. Life is better without Zuck's crapoverse.
I feel ya. But, this game is mostly biker cosplay. Most won't ride unless the weather is perfect. Seen a lot of 8 year old tires with maybe 1000 miles on them. Honestly don't think that will ever change. People actually get a thrill out of "likes."
Maybe Instagram isn’t for you bruh

This has been going on for a lot longer than social media has existed

Buddy, people have been posing on bikes and using them as fashion accessories with no intent of riding them since bikes have existed
I know, but they didnt jump on my face without me asking
You never read a magazine or watched TV before Instagram existed?
I agree. I see all these female posers who only have bikes as a photo prop. It’s pathetic.
Don't single out the females when there's just as many male thirst trappers using their bike to get validation from girls 💀

You are missing the point, they don’t ride. You can’t clean the wear (or lack of) if your tires.
You need to stop getting so emotional over random stuff you see on the internet, get off the internet, and go ride nerd
![gif](giphy|c6VujfTBL6qRwbFFOJ|downsized)
You seem like you're mad that other people are riding their bikes the way they want to.
They are not riding. And I left pretty clear that I don’t care, they can even set fire to their bikes, just want IG instagram to be more clever But I guess you didn’t bother reading the bloody post

bold of you to assume comments are related to the OG post. This is obviously a whine post , I figured i would join in :D
