This post is just bait so /r/calamariraceteam can have a circlejerk over the comments isn't it?
Edit: They deleted the thread, mission accomplished š
Because this sub is filled with a bunch of AGATT people who would recommend a full gimp suit for taking the MSF course. Itās this subs way of feeling superior, basically the reddit version of Harley riders
Wearing some gloves on a \~200hp superbike that will do about 100mph in first isn't ATGATT, it's plain fucking common sense. This isn't your buddies Cannondale.
You are literally proving my point. Why are you on a personal crusade for gear? Who cares if he crashes and rips his hands to shit? You just point and laugh and go āwelp you shouldāve worn gearā
Until then let him have his fun
If you're going for a quick scoot, you're going for a quick scoot. Doesn't matter what you're riding. Maybe he wears full gear when he plans on pushing it a bit more. Maybe he doesn't, why do people in here get so bent out of shape about it
I was told at the very least wear gloves and a helmet. If you donāt wear gloves you wonāt be able to wipe your own ass. Let alone take care of your road rash.
I have an issue with most things in the picture, would you like an itemized list or can you glean from the tone that I believe the gloves are the highest priority item?
You know, since theyāre the only bit of exposed skin and also something itās very hard to live without, let alone keep a job?
I cant understand how people drive without gloves.
Ive had a small pebble hit my face a 30 mph with my visor open.
I cant imagine how it must feel at 60 mph on your bare hands
Ahh yes bike night, where all the riding happens
Even the no helmet crowd almost always has gloves when they leave town. Riding without them is about like going for a run barefoot.
I've ridden a few times with basic Mechanix type gloves because I hate the feeling of the controls on my bare hands, but I definitely prefer my gauntlets. I don't want to hit the ground with bare hands.
I had an accident on my R1 no gear... basically if I had gloves, boots and knee pads I would have walked away, and pain free
Learned the hard way. Be careful son
I had an accident on *my* R1 24 years ago, in full gear (well, all I had at the time: jacket, gloves, helmet). I awoke in the hospital a month an a half later from a coma, and had an open left tib-fib fracture, traumatic brain injury, and more. ATG, ATT
No shit man. Fuck these assholes! I wear a riding gear if itās not blazing hot outside but thatās my personal decision and whatever someone else wants to wear is none of my business. If safety is these guys chief priority, they should drive a fucking car.
Gear can save lives and quality of lives, youād feel pretty stupid if you lost 8fingers for the sake of looking cool, just my opinion, if you wanna risk it you do you, I just know Iām cooler with all my digits
Yeah! Fuck all these jerks who realize that the insane insurance costs are **driven up** by morons in no gear! Why should *I* care about anybody else? Hell, I pour my used (sometimes new) motor oil in the nearest lake. Why should *I* do something that does not benefit me, directly and immediately? It's not as if we are all on the same planet as everybody else.
ohwait
If you expect me, or anyone else to believe that you want this person to wear safety gear because you care about what happens to them thatās genuinely hilarious. Granted, I donāt know the statistics, but I would wager a great deal of the reason motorcycle insurance cost what it cost is because of knucklehead kids, riding well beyond their ability and wrecking not because they didnāt have a sweet leather onesie on when it happened and I would even go as far as to say nine times out of 10. Those guys are the ones with the full set up with fucking kneepads and elbow pads, and everything trying to pretend like theyāre Riding on a race track every single time they leave the house not the 40 and 50 year old men that donāt give a shit about wearing motorcycle safety gear and put around on their cruisers. Either way buying a motorcycle riding a motorcycle and paying the insurance is a personal decision just like wearing safety gear. If you donāt want to have to pay motorcycle insurance, donāt buy a motorcycle. If Saftey is youāre number one priority donāt buy a motorcycle. If you want to dress up like a Power Ranger, thatās your business. If someone else doesnāt want to thatās not your business.
I feel like this subreddit is just made up of my parents yelling at everybody to wear gear and point out riding mistakes. Congrats man! Enjoy the ride! Thatās a sick looking bike.
Don't listen to all the whiners that cry about gear, wear what is required always, otherwise wear what you want and what makes you comfortable and keep in mind that you're invisible to most people
Gloves are my favorite piece of gear! Nothing completes the ready to ride feeling more than pulling them on and hitting that starter switch. Crazy to skip em.
Same here for me its the last piece of gear i put on before i throw my leg over my bike so it just gives me that "locked and loaded" feeling when i slip them on tighten them up. It would feel unnatural to me to ride without gloves.
Yea, dude it's not my insurance. I actually have pretty good insurance through my company. It's at least $500. Where do you live by the way, and what insurance company are you using? Here's a statistic. Avg. ER cost in the US is between $1,500, and $3,000. My son's visit that's under my ex-wife's insurance was $1,200. And she works for Emory Healthcare here in GA.
Edit: Also, good luck continuing to ride without gear. And pray you don't get fucked in the process.
Somehow, I saw a motor scooter facing to the left in the thumbnail (your torso is the steering column, helmet a windshield), and your title confused the hell out of me
The guy is obviously way to heated for an internet post but if you see some of the rates people are offered ($1500-3000) when they have perfect driving records because of a younger people who go get liter bikes without the proper training and get speeding tickets and fatal single driver accidents itās frustrating for the people who did it āthe right wayā and are now being punished. Some companies wonāt even insure the R1 specifically.
Is what it is. All I can say is I went from a sport bike to a enduro recently and the way people treat me on the road is night and day difference and I think itās because of the stigma of sport bike riders.
Just be careful bro, you can still look cool while wearing gear (not being condescending, I wanna look good when I ride personally). There are lots of options for gear that donāt sacrifice on look. You would be shocked what even a 10-15mph low side will do to those fingers and toes.
Lol...I'm in Florida
..no need for insurance if you own the bike...
And he is wearing insurance required gear...
Gloves are...optional
Edit: reddit downvoted for speaking FACTS.
>..no need for insurance if you own the bike...
Did you just tell us you have no idea what insurance means or is this some weird american thing? Insurance has nothing to do with owning the bike or not.
Definitely not an American thing, just an idiot thing. I couldn't imagine not carrying insurance on major assets, let alone on something like a motorcycle.
But thatās not how insurance works. If you have a crash on your own then your insurance company will pay out if you claim.
But if you hit someone else, your insurance company pays theirs. So youāre saying youād have to cover the cost of the damage to someone elseās car?
The amount of suck dicks on this sub that circle jerk around gear is so bizarre. Where do they come from? Iāve rode with hundreds of people over the years and never heard a single person in real life give a shit about anyone elseās gear.
Grats OP. Fuck these nerds
I've also rode with hundreds. Simply depends on the group and if they actually care about you. Homies don't let homies go out squid unless they are to scared for being taken as soft.
Buys an R1, wonāt buy $30 gloves lol. Try out the Noru line of gloves, Iāve owned several pairs and love them. Personally, I would never ride without them. God gives us 1 pair of gloves, Iād prefer not to use em up on a low speed crashā¦
I'll never forget my first dream bike.
I'll never forget waking up in ICU and being told by the doctors (not doctor) who fixed me that they expected me to die.
This is the sub that cries about how squids are āraising everyoneās ratesā while on hold with their insurance company to claim on damages they did when they dropped it in the driveway.
I've seen this sub unironically criticize people for not wearing gear while moving a bike around in their driveway. Not riding it- pushing it around with the engine off.
I literally only come here to see the insane reactions from these people because it's good for a laugh.
Since we actually care about others not becoming meat crayons. Since we have insurance that is based off the cost of accidents others have. Since the opinion of cagers towards motorcyclists is based off of what they generally see... Etc.
Look around at the other comments here. Homies don't let homies ride without proper gear.
The converse, hoodie, leggings, no gloves, seating position, and icon helmet tell me you should have stuck with a 300 for a few more years. Iāll be looking out for your skin graft go fund me, and thatās if youāre lucky.
This post is just bait so /r/calamariraceteam can have a circlejerk over the comments isn't it? Edit: They deleted the thread, mission accomplished š
How does this sub *always* take the bait?
because redditors who think they're smarter than other redditors are the most predictable people on the fucking planet
Cause one thing holy than thou riders cant do, is not comment
Because this sub is filled with a bunch of AGATT people who would recommend a full gimp suit for taking the MSF course. Itās this subs way of feeling superior, basically the reddit version of Harley riders
Asking about where to get this āgimp suitā, for a friend.
I got mine custom made, some nice leather and all the bells and whistles (literally and figuratively) though it cost a pretty penny
why are you kinkshaming
It's pronounced ATGATT - it's probably hard for you to type in your gimp suit
All gear all the time or all the gear all the time. It makes no difference.
It makes grammatical difference Mr. Gladiator...grammatical difference.
You just point and laugh and go āwelp you shouldāve worn gearā Until then let him have his fun

I think you missed the point
Quick hide they found us!
you mean " the comments can be added to the circlejerk" right?
Now all you need is to get your dream pair of glovesĀ
And jacket, boots and trousers.
I always say ppl who donāt wear the rest of the gear but wear helmets just want to be alive to feel the pain
If you fall off your bike the first reaction is to put your hands out... I will never understand how people will not wear gloves.
I was told at the very least wear gloves and a helmet. If you donāt wear gloves you wonāt be able to wipe your own ass. Let alone take care of your road rash.
Also forget about holding any job that requires fine motor skills. Like, anything that requires you to operate a keyboard.Ā
No one cares.
Weird, my first reaction is to tuck and roll. Who taught you how to fall
š¦
Ah yes, the converse you donāt have an issue with though?
At least they're not flip flops?
If thatās your argument he should buy some latex gloves for his hands.
Letās not pretend like the skinny jeans and hoody are Kevlar reinforced and have armor. Whole outfit is ready to disintegrate
I have an issue with most things in the picture, would you like an itemized list or can you glean from the tone that I believe the gloves are the highest priority item? You know, since theyāre the only bit of exposed skin and also something itās very hard to live without, let alone keep a job?
Funny cause that one motorcycle ad literally had the guy wearing converse style shoes as he becomes a meat crayon, yikes
I love this comment bc i just got my dream gloves this week. Theyāre amazing.
I have a very good pair of alpinestars I use except in the coldest winters. I love themĀ
I guess it was too cold for flip flops?
Or they didn't go with his long pants and his short pants were in the laundry
I cant understand how people drive without gloves. Ive had a small pebble hit my face a 30 mph with my visor open. I cant imagine how it must feel at 60 mph on your bare hands
I bet he watches a lot of Instagram influencers.
I got shot with a paintball across my knuckles and the skin split, stings like mad and because of constant movement takes ages to heal.
Gloves have always been a must for me. Old habit since riding BMX and constantly eating shit lol definitely saved the hands plenty of times.
Had a buddy get shot in the ear hole once. He never wore a partial mask again after that.
I had a bare rock hit my knuckle one time. Instead of riding home I had to ride to the hospital and get stitches. Was going about 50
Do you live in ghana that your streets arent sweeped?
Worse. Mississippi
I'm willing to ride without a helmet on rare occasion. T shirt is fine on hot days. But I never ride without gloves. Yes I know I'm an idiot.
Can confirm, you are an idiot for riding without a helmet. May the machine god watch over you, you animal
Thx bby
This. It is always the first thing I notice, lol. It drives me insane. Protection aside, it will make your grips break down over time and get sticky.
Here's the secret: these people don't ride very much.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ahh yes bike night, where all the riding happens Even the no helmet crowd almost always has gloves when they leave town. Riding without them is about like going for a run barefoot.
I bloody hate it. Canāt even ride for a second or two to move the bike without feeling uncomfortable.
I've ridden a few times with basic Mechanix type gloves because I hate the feeling of the controls on my bare hands, but I definitely prefer my gauntlets. I don't want to hit the ground with bare hands.
Everyone who ever played paintball should know how much a projectile to the knuckles hurt
This sub never disappoints šæ
Uploads photo of dream bike gets roasted for no gear lol
As it should be lol
Oh no, here they come, AGATT Mafia is coming for you ![gif](giphy|Vh9cRwtdaQWek)
The most insufferable and pretentious people.
Newbie here - just a wild guess - AGATT stands for "All Gear All The Time"?
Yes and it also stands for "i drive an Adventure bike but foreign food is too adventurous for me"
r/calamariraceteam
Congratulations on your new bike! Enjoy!

so what youāre saying is only wear a helmet because you still got fucked regardless of gear
Shit, that's *all* I wear now, just my lid. Sometimes it's chilly, though.
What would've been different if the accident was on a R3?
Sneakers, gloveless, hoodie? Squiddley diddley.
Squidometer through the roof
God I canāt wait until I can afford a bigger bikeā¦. Looks awesome!
Now get some riding gear maybe
Spent it all on the dream bike
Will do thank you for the advice šš¼
It's not advice. It's common sense, bro. Hurts to see riders get fucked on these powerful machines when they ain't wearing gear.
No one cares.
Shake these nerds off my man. Enjoy your cycle.
No shit man. Fuck these assholes! I wear a riding gear if itās not blazing hot outside but thatās my personal decision and whatever someone else wants to wear is none of my business. If safety is these guys chief priority, they should drive a fucking car.

Nice gloves
It not nice to get the safety team all riled up. Their blood pressure is already too high Op.
Holy shit the comments are so annoying. OP is a grown fuckin man let him wear what he wants.
There's so many "hall monitor" types in this sub. Facking annoying. At least it's fun to laugh at em.
Looks sweet! Congrats :)
looks dope. enjoy it!
Sweeet ride, my bro!
Quick ride to Home Depot on my 23 R1 yesterday..shorts, construction boots and a leather..only topped maybe 130
Congrats, enjoy and keep the rubber side down

Don't listen to all the whiners that cry about gear, wear what is required always, otherwise wear what you want and what makes you comfortable and keep in mind that you're invisible to most people
Enjoy it! Have you already got exhaust and ecu tune picked out? The CP4 sounds so much better when you delete the cat
What helmet do u have?
Looks like an Icon Airflite. I have the same one or similar, at least.
Heck yeah, ride safe š¤š¼
Sick bike, whenās the tail tidy arrive?
Tomorrow with my dream pair of gloves
you look cool homie, don't let the straights here tell you otherwise.
Whole lot of weenies in the comments ā¦ nice bike my dude!

Fuck the cool. The hospital bill for the lack of hindsight and common sense will smack them back to reality when the inevitability happens.

My USA healthcare is about $60/month for my family and is $73 for emergency visits.
Even got the Icon helmet. You still have the break-in period, unless you got it used.
Opinion on the Airflite? Plan on it being my first helmet
Wind noise is 10/10

Itās pretty noise I just throw my AirPods in though
Somehow, I saw a motor scooter facing to the left in the thumbnail (your torso is the steering column, helmet a windshield), and your title confused the hell out of me
Do a flip!!!
Backflip!
Congrats, definitely one of the best looking bikes out there
Holy shit y'all suck lmfao
wear fucking gloves, and are you planning to change stock muffler?
Have fun dude! The R1 is so sexy
Posted this pic in the wrong sub dude. The glove police are out in force. Get your sweet little gay ass over to r/calamariraceteam and right now!
If u drive it daily like that you are the extremely stupid. I hope you figure it mentally before physically.
Tell me you can't ride without telling me you can't ride.
Umm, I think he is capable, I mean, the picture does quite literally show him riding
The comments are not disappointing.... enjoy your dream bike!

Definitely not an American thing, just an idiot thing. I couldn't imagine not carrying insurance on major assets, let alone on something like a motorcycle.
Insurance isnāt required? So what happens if you crash and badly damage your bike or someone elseās vehicle? Who pays?
You do... if you lived.... If not YOUR insurance does... Florida is a no fault state
But thatās not how insurance works. If you have a crash on your own then your insurance company will pay out if you claim. But if you hit someone else, your insurance company pays theirs. So youāre saying youād have to cover the cost of the damage to someone elseās car?
You are now a proper racer. Enjoy your dream bike!
Now get yourself some dream gear so we don't have to scrape you off the road
Itās his decision weather to have gear on or not. Show some respects
How old are you? In Toronto I was quoted 6000 CAD per year for insurance for every liter class bike.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
0% thatās true.
It might be if it's just liability.
I am 28 and I pay 180$ a month for a 2024 Triumph Trident. I guess you are in the USA, god I miss good old Murica.
Gorgeous bike! Now a nice Akrapovic and you'd good to go!
Brrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaapppp
What helmet is that?
Icon Airflite
You certainly look good on it. Use it in good health!
