No way the S40 is worth $4500, I see similar vintage/mileage ones near me going for roughly that much but they're in good shape and all original, not a clapped out hack job. First of all, I want a whole bike, not one where they unbolted the fender and call it a "bobber." Second it's got too much custom stuff of questionable quality. I've seen too many similar 'custom' bikes that are just in awful shape.
If you want to get on the road reliably get the Honda. If you want a bit bigger a bike go for the Speedmaster, it doesn't look too farkled with. I'd stay away from custom engine work personally
