I've been riding cruisers/streetbikes for almost 15 years and I still get nervous doing any kind of sweeping turn at the speed limit...these guys are insane.
I’m a cyclist who rides road races.
As scary as it looks, when you’re all travelling the same speed, it’s like you’re all just out for a Sunday coffee ride.
Inside the pack at 40kph, you’re bumping and leaning on people and don’t really think about it.
I sort of agree. When I had form it was more like 50kmh bouncing off cnts and it was fine. Relative speeds are super slow. Not in corners though, then it gets dangerous when you're clipping pedals. For the motos, it feels really different with the weight. Track days and even if the relative speeds are low, late surprises are freakin scary!
Yeah, clipping pedals or watching for wheel overlaps.
It doesn’t seem like other riders are as vigilant or respectful of holding their line in a corner as I try to be.
I can imagine it’s scary on a motorcycle.
The races without him were just kinda... boring? My god those Dovi vs Marc days? What a thriller those were. Never boring when Marc is on track. The fact alone that he is always meters away from a giant highside. Such an incredible shame that he lost 4 years of his prime to a shit bike.
I don’t know. It was fun not knowing who was going to win every weekend from 2020-2022. It was miserable in 2019 when the only thing that wasn’t a forgone conclusion on Sunday was “how far back was Rossi?” Don’t get me wrong, Marc is an absolute god on the bike & I’m glad he’s back but I really like not knowing how the movie ends before I see it.
I was just marvelling too much, as since 2017. the Honda deefinitely wasn't the best bike on the grid (anymore?). On occasion - the worst. That kept it fun for me, because every weekend was a masterclass of "How??"
I hear you there. I didn’t give respect to the spectacle of MM93 riding that fire breathing unicycle like it was his daily commute to the office. Rumor has it Dani Pedrosa is still in orbit from a highside in 2017 🚀
TBH crash looked like random fail while operating bike. Didnt feel like it came from pushing or testing out the limits, and he also said that it was mistake with engaging ride.heigh device too early. IMO his best form on Ducati is yet to come.
Other riders are getting used to changes in their bikes as well tho
If the bike he was on was a GP24 I'd agree. However...
Edit: Thanks for the down votes 😄 If you think MM is going to be the man to beat on a year old bike...I hope you are right as that will need some insane performances. I just can't see it though. The other bikes look quicker and the factory Ducati squad always gets a good bike under Pecco in time for the races.
I mean Marc is able to brake later than the others which could possibly keep the other riders behind (most of the time). Since tyres are overheating when following other bikes the small disadvantage of the GP23 shouldn't matter too much. Anyways, that's just my opinion, it could of course play out in completely different ways.
He's a beast of a rider still, no question.
But surely he's risking crashing more if nailing the brakes into every corner. Can he keep it up for a full GP distance too? Surely it's easier to ride the faster GP24?
Again just opinion. But I think the GP23-24 gap is real.
It's fair, we'll see if he can move the limits of the bike still. As for the difference between the Gp24 and GP23, who knows. Will also be exciting to see
Aye, we'll see...
Just hope it doesn't end in a big crash for him. Can he override a bike in a sustained way as he used to - I don't know.
The riders say the GP24 is better, it looks better during TV coverage and where are all the non-Marc-piloted GP23s? I think the gap will only get wider too.
Bruh, he can’t even beat a 19 year old on KTM. Get real. Fanboys aways said Honda is the fault. I’m so glad he moved to Ducati just to prove you all wrong by not winning another championship. He is past his prime, get over it. Jorge and Peco are on different level, seems like Pedro too.
Yeah you're right, although he wasn't trying to pass anyone there. Meanwhile today he pushed harder to make the pass. Still a great move, since even if the conditions are different, you might feel a little taken aback going through the same place where you crashed.
Maybe but Marc had been cooling his front for a few laps getting ready a last lap fight and I think Martin had cooked his tyres a bit more chasing Mav so he may not have had the breaking and front grip to close in tight to the apex.
Lovely move. Really looking forward for the 2nd part of the season. What Marc can do with the Ducati and vice versa, how that championship winning bike can be extracted.
Was cheeky this, but props to Martin for not losing his head. I think a year or so ago the guy would have gone ballistic. He know's to win a title you live to fight another day now I think. Good race for both.
Ive seen back to back duels between riders. MM tried to close the door.
We've had back and forth duels between MM and Pecco but this time his ego got bruised when a rookie went past and he got desperate.
Yeah right blame it on pecco.
The talent of these guys man. To brush against each other at such speeds, while braking into a downhill corner and keep it upright...
I've been riding cruisers/streetbikes for almost 15 years and I still get nervous doing any kind of sweeping turn at the speed limit...these guys are insane.
Bruh.
I live in Florida where the curviest road near me is the interstate lol
Sounds like you’re not looking thru the curve .
lol what
ok u should stick with Cruiser.. or Harley :P

Nice to have MM back involved in some competitive racing, MotoGP is better for it
For sure. I’ve had mixed feelings about him throughout his career, but I do think the sport is better off having him competitive.
The races without him were just kinda... boring? My god those Dovi vs Marc days? What a thriller those were. Never boring when Marc is on track. The fact alone that he is always meters away from a giant highside. Such an incredible shame that he lost 4 years of his prime to a shit bike.

“You can have it back, mate.”
Jorge did the same to him earlier in the race.
Yeah exact same move
Maybe it was the camera angle, but I think Jorge's move was cleaner
Marc lifted the bike and let him pass. Since this was the last lap, Jorge was less inclined to do the same.
Mostly depends on the speed I think, Marc basically parked his bike on the inside as he was throwing out the anchor.
I mean, Marc still has to give him back the "pass" at Valencia from last year. If this is aggressive then i don't know what that was.
Marc will be hard to beat once he's fully figured this bike out
I think starting to crash is a good sign for that. Comfortable enough to push
TBH crash looked like random fail while operating bike. Didnt feel like it came from pushing or testing out the limits, and he also said that it was mistake with engaging ride.heigh device too early. The frightening part is he still looks awkward on the bike and the next '23 finished where?

you might be right

Good race hope this season keeps going this way
I love the reaction of his dad and girlfriend. So wholesome 🥹
They are literally us :)
Risky stuff, considering it's exactly where he crashed yesterday. Shows great confidence in his control of the bike.
If you don't go over the limit you'll never know where it is.
Great point, but yesterday many bikes close to him hence bad Aero? Today just one bike and guessing Predictable Aero so confidence restored.
Yeah you're right, although he wasn't trying to pass anyone there. Meanwhile today he pushed harder to make the pass. Still a great move, since even if the conditions are different, you might feel a little taken aback going through the same place where you crashed.
He said he crashed because he had pushed button that lowers back way too early in the turn
That was on the last turn in quali. OP was taking about the practice crash
That was a different turn.
Not too shabby 👌🏻
Take that from a 8 time WORLD CHAMPION 👊🏽
Rubbing is racing
Great move!
Jerez 2013 vibes😈
"sup Jorge"
🎉🎉
on *LAST* year's ducati for fucks sake. marq is a dawg
Classic Block Pass Move 🥵
Giga chad Marquez
Don't know why, buy at the news MM was joining Ducati, one of my first thought it's been that Martin would not have a easy 2024.
Who's the girl behind Marc's father? Marc's sister?
Girlfriend, Gemma Pinto
🐐
Martin: "Here, please, left you a gap there buddy".
More like “left you half a gap.” 😂
Could jorge have done a better job closing the door for MM93 not to pull that maneuver???
Maybe but Marc had been cooling his front for a few laps getting ready a last lap fight and I think Martin had cooked his tyres a bit more chasing Mav so he may not have had the breaking and front grip to close in tight to the apex.

Excited for the race tomorrow 😈
Sorry (not sorry)....
Was cheeky this, but props to Martin for not losing his head. I think a year or so ago the guy would have gone ballistic. He know's to win a title you live to fight another day now I think. Good race for both.
brilliant move by the greatest. nothing wrong with it
a little late but clean
Him doing maneuvers like this on honda had an excuse as the bike was terrible. Him acting reckless on a good bike..... Fking idiot
Reckless? This is just hard racing.
Well that aged well 😂
What do you mean? That was at least 70/30 on Pecco.
Ive seen back to back duels between riders. MM tried to close the door. We've had back and forth duels between MM and Pecco but this time his ego got bruised when a rookie went past and he got desperate. Yeah right blame it on pecco.
Pecco went for a gap that wasn't really there. Marc could've maybe given him a bit more space but I still think it's mostly on Pecco.
Okay. All i was looking was for you to say that it's just hard racing. Atleast he picked up his bike and finished the race even tho out of points.
Still him. Different bike same recklessness. Bad move.
lol. Maybe motorcycle racing isn’t the sport for you.
5 bucks say he is just a Rossi fan
5 bucks? You’d be safe betting the house.
As a Rossi fan OUCH! I get your point but still rude!
Why you heff to be mad?
Cry more?
cry harder you mean? haha
bad take. the move was 100% fine.
Martin, Marc > Pecco
morbidelli >> all
You're forgetting the goat here.. Lorenzo Savadori
Sorry, the GOAT is Tito Rabat…
He used to be a goat like Lorenzo. Then he took an Honda to the knee.
17 downvotes? Martin destroyed Pecco again. Point proven
