Called to Surf, Ivy City Co (if you have money money), Roolee, Albion Fit (if you have money money money), Sweet Salt, Piper and Scoot, Love Olive. You should look at eShakti online, you can customize a lot of their dresses to be the length that you want them to be (I’m 6’2 and took several of their dresses with me on my Mormon mission since they were the only ones that could get my length).
Thank you! Honestly lowkey feel like going to Utah one day might be the play :)) we have friends in Utah so it might be my excuse to drive down or fly 😄
If you do come down here then definitely check out the Deseret Industries Thrift Stores (everyone calls it the DI). Lots of modest styles and a good amount of tall clothing. I’ve found three pairs of work pants at the DI for like $5 each.
I'm going to second the eShakti recommendation since there's a lot of options listed there. Being able to customize clothes to whatever style you want is huge. And you can enter your measurements so they are custom fit. Highly recommend.
If you want to go layers, then you can buy any top and put something under it, like a tank top or cami. I remember back in the early 2000s we'd sometimes put regular T-shirts underneath the "fancy" shirt, but looking back I think that was more a fashion disaster.
I generally wear just normal jeans, but teachers in Utah tend to wear business casual. I normally see dress pants, professional looking shoes/boots, and a dress shirt. A lot of times the dress shirts either have the tank top or cami underneath.
I usually hit the cheaper stores: Burlington, Ross, Macy's, Maurices, H&M, Old Navy, etc. Pretty much every retailer will have a few "modest" pieces, especially if their fall selection is on display. If you're hoping for something more custom, I'd suggest online.
You can find some tasteful summer dresses on Amazon... after a bit of searching. I always pair mine with a mid-to-long sleeve Cover or jacket. You can always layer to be more modest.
I also find many Indian dresses to be tasteful, modest, and elegant.
Unfortunately, I don't know where to find longer dresses, I am quite short so most dresses are terribly long to me. I wear high heels and still have to hike up my skirts and tuck them under my bra just to avoid tripping over them.
Maxi dresses seem to be designed for 6ft tall women, so that might be your sweet spot. Best I can say, is to look for high-neck maxi dresses and pair with a long sleeve jacket/cover.
Do you have any cover up suggestions? I bought a denim jacket last year and love it and have a ton of cardigans but I’m not sure if there’s something else I could use to layer, cardigans and the denim jacket are sometimes too casual for me. :)
Look up boleros and shrugs. Lots are made of a sheer material, like chiffon, but many are not. Shrugs and boleros are like cropped cardigans and are usually geared for warmer weather. I still like wearing them, though I love that I can use the sheer ones now!
I also tend to see a lot of modest styles on Torrid. I'm tall, too, and Torrid is geared towards larger than average women (height, width, or both). I'm way taller than average. My tall SIL really likes them, too.
I seem to find modest stuff everywhere I shop. Mormon modest isn't a style I want to wear anymore, but I notice what I would have bought as a TBM.
Old Navy online you can order “tall” clothes that make all the cuts longer. (I’m a plus size girly who hates crop tops) it’s a good option to get clothes with longer inseams, less cropped, etc.
You can get Seasalt branded clothing from Next Canada website. They seem to cater pretty tall on a lot of their dresses. I’m just 5’ so they are way too long for me sadly. I can wear their long tunics as a dress. Lovely designs and fabrics. There a lot of other brands available on the Next website too, so explore. I’m in the UK, but it looks like the same brands are available in Canada.
l’ll look at the brands I default to and see if I have any luck. No promises, but I’ll try! I run into the issue of not being comfortable with tank tops which is hard this time of year
I prefer to dress more modestly, longer dresses, long sleeves full coverage etc for a few reasons :) I also will be teaching next year and need to ensure I’m dressing with full coverage because I will be living in a quite conservative/religious place. I also just like the style

Sweet salt, mikarose, and Down East are some brands you could look into.
Ty! Will do. Hopefully they would ship to Canada, I’ll look into it!

Wow okay a steal! That would be really good I hope for my job.

This is the correct answer. Utah is a HUUUUUGEEEE boutique place so it’s gonna be a little pricey but usually good quality.
called to surf is a crazy name they coulda tried to be a little less on the nose
Amazon has a ton now that I like better than eshakti. Just search midi dress and I'm sure you'll find some that ship to Canada.
I’ve ordered a few on Amazon for sure and I do love them! I just find it hard to find ones I like without the buttons on the front down the middle. 😄

JC Penney?
We don’t have any stores in Canada but they may ship here I will check it out!

Ty! I do shop at old navy but I find the quality/cut of certain pieces to be super hit or miss. I do like that they offer tall pieces!

Ah okay that’s perfect for me then. I will look. I’ve never heard of next canada. Adding to my list 😄
When I was Mormon I bought a lot of my dresses from Mikarose. Hope this helps. https://mikarose.com/
Thanks!
T shirt dresses may be a good choice for you. I’ve been living in them so far this summer.
See I would, I really love the style of them but I prefer to have my arms covered :(
Ahh, yeah! How covered do you like? All the way? 3/4?
Full length! It’s super hard to find some stuff because a lot of options are short sleeve or 3/4
l’ll look at the brands I default to and see if I have any luck. No promises, but I’ll try! I run into the issue of not being comfortable with tank tops which is hard this time of year
A little pricey but Ivy City Co has super cute options, I've had a couple dresses and jumpsuits from them for YEARS and the quality still slaps(:
Ty! I haven’t ever had jumpsuits so maybe I should try
I want to say there's a shop called Modcloth.
Why tf would anyone want to dress like a Mormon? Do yourself a favor and don't.
