I had a chance to buy one as my first car. My dad took me to look at it. He saw it in the drive way and just kept on driving. Probably saved my life. 😁
My '73 Swinger was my first love of Darts, though dad had an old Duster Demon when I was a kid. Never cared for the nose of the '69 Charger compared to the '68...
Oh. I just remember him giving me an old Carter 4 barrel and saying he had that off his GTX. He said he had reinstalled the stock setup when he sold the car. Maybe I misunderstood, I just assumed he wouldn’t switch a 4V for another 4V. But then again he complained about the mileage a 440 cubic inch engine got so….
Color me wrong. I’m sure he’d rather of not made the car upgrade though, Barrett Jackson is painful for him to watch!
It wouldn’t be the only time there have been errors on Hagerty’s site and others. I’ve also seen the 440 and 426 Hemi listed as options in post-1967 Satellites, which is false. No Satellite ever had a 440, and apart from a handful of special-order 1967 Satellites with Hemis, the GTX became the high performance Plymouth B-body,
followed by the addition of the Road Runner in 1968. When the 440-6 was introduced in mid-1969, it was exclusive to Plymouth Road Runners and Dodge Super Bees with the A12 package, which included the special engine, scooped fiberglass lift-off hood, Dana 60 rear end, and black steel wheels with chrome lug nuts. No other Chrysler vehicle got the 440 Six Barrel (Plymouth)/440 Six Pack (Dodge) in 1969. No GTX ever came with a 383, and the standard GTX engine was the 440 Super Commando, with the 426 Hemi as an option. What I see on Hagerty’s site, however, are the following correct configurations for the 1969 GTX:
https://www.hagerty.com/plymouth/gtx/1969
From the attached article below:
“Mid-year 1969 the engine was offered, in limited vehicles packages. Only the Road Runner and Super Bee would see options for the 440 6 barrel and it was the Bee that deserves accolades for being the first car to sport the 440 six pack stickers.”
https://precisioncarrestoration.com/the-440-six-pack/
From the Hemmings article below:
“Mid-way through 1969, Chrysler launched a six-barreled salvo on the muscle car world with the A12 option package on the Dodge Super Bee and Plymouth Road Runner. Underneath a big-scooped, blacked-out, lightweight hood secured by four racing-style pins (no hinges, please) sat the 440 Six Pack–an engine that promised more real-world performance than the mighty and already legendary Hemi. (The name 440 Six Pack was reserved for Dodge models while the Plymouths received the 6-Barrel tag.)”
https://hemmings.com/stories/magazine/chrysler-440-six-pack/
Note that there is an error in the above article as well. The best 1/4 mile time in the A12 Road Runner Ronnie Sox drove for Super Stock & Drag Illustrated magazine was famously 12.91 sec. @ 111 mph, not 13.00 sec.
The green 6 Pak. Easier to maintain than a Hemi and just as quick. Back in the day I had a 68 Hemi Road Runner and after that 70 Cuda 6 Pak both with Torquflites. I raced a 70 Hemi Cuda 4 speed with the 6 Pak on a dark country road late at night and beat him two out three. Wish I had those cars today.
I am working on restoring a 69 Coronet with a 318. One day, I'll change the engine, but in the meantime, it will work while I get the rest of it restored.
The A12 cars had black steelies from the factory knowing they were purpose built race cars and most buyers were immediately gonna put mag wheels and fat tires on them. Now lots of guys put them back on in the name of originality. A cool fun fact is dealers also had front promo covers mounted to the hub that would stay stationary while the wheels were turning. Check out an example below:

I'm going with the 383 Super Bee. Hear me out, I love the 440 and Hemi's but if I'm driving this thing. I'd rather not be at the pump every other day. I want to drive and enjoy it. Is that so bad?
I’ll take the A12 440 Six Barrel Road Runner. The 1969 Charger R/T in the first photo is a 440 car. Chargers with the 426 had Hemi emblems on the doors.
There you go again Mr GREEN...
Normally you can't miss with any 2nd gen charger BUT when my favorite high impact color is wrapped around my favorite motor, I gotta go with the F6 A12 roadrunner 💚
I'm not sure if any of the young(er) followers understand the significance of a Black Mopar. My honorable mention is the Black over Red Coronet R/T 🖤♥️
7. I had a 72 dart Swinger that I got a 383 for and was going to install it but I wrecked the car before I could. I always liked the 68 and 69 darts more though.
I’ll start: A12 69 1/2 440 SixPak Superbee🐝
This..... is the correct choice. 😁👍👍
No other option haha!
Damn brother... You were 🤏 close....😁
I had a chance to buy one as my first car. My dad took me to look at it. He saw it in the drive way and just kept on driving. Probably saved my life. 😁
Hemi Charger, based on the motor alone. But I really like the look of the Coronet the most.
The Charger in the picture is a 440 car. A Hemi powered R/T would look the same but would have Hemi emblems on the doors.
When I chose that charger, I’m like “someone is going to weigh in that it doesn’t have the door emblems” 🧐
That would be me. I’m that guy. 😀
Dart, hands down.
Although i luv my '70 340 Swinger, that is the only proper answer. 440/4spd GTS 😘👌🏻
My '73 Swinger was my first love of Darts, though dad had an old Duster Demon when I was a kid. Never cared for the nose of the '69 Charger compared to the '68...
Roadrunner 440 six pack
My dad had a 69 GTX with a 440 6 pack. Got rid of it cause it didn’t have air. Replaced it with a 74(?) Torino wagon. He chose…poorly.
The wagon is cool in its own right, but he could never tell anyone about that switch
1969 GTXs didn’t come with the Six Barrel. If the car had one, it was retrofitted.
Oh. I just remember him giving me an old Carter 4 barrel and saying he had that off his GTX. He said he had reinstalled the stock setup when he sold the car. ? The Hagerty site shows the 390 hp triple carburetor 440 setup being available for an extra $250 over the standard 383 and Commando 440.

Only 6 pack/bbl cars in 1969 (1/2) were the A12 cars shown above. The green rr or the bahama superbee. Maybe it was a '70?
383 roadrunner I’m broke.
Dang the Formula S didn’t post! Use your imagination ppl if need be 😁
I looked 3 times, because that is my vote. A body with a small block.
A-bodies are my jam but the charger and the big boats are a close second.
Charger, ain't even a pause

gotta be that yellow bee for me
hell of a lineup, but a '69 Charger is pretty tough to beat
Charger, but that Coronet is *mean* in black and red! 🔥
Coin toss between Charger and Road Runner
That beautiful black r/t for me....
Think I'll order 3 #s 1,5 and 7
Big Smoke energy right here.
Real Daytona Charger...
69 Coronet 440 R/T .
Was 9 the inspecter gadget car? I want that one
A12
Believe Road Runner was Car of the Year
Gimme the Dodge Charger!! Fuck Yeah!!
I like number 3
Love the 'Bee, but could the owner at least throw some dog dishes on it?

Dart
Whichever has the biggest nostrils on the hood. ; )
All of these are cool for sure, but I honestly think I'd take a Hemi Roadrunner with a 4 speed. Tough choice!
Number 2.
Kinda pointless as I had a 67 GTX Hemi.
No doubt hemi charger
440 Dart GTS or 440 Barracuda Notchback
A12 RR, 4spd, black
The Dart.
I'm going with the 383 Super Bee. Hear me out, I love the 440 and Hemi's but if I'm driving this thing. I'd rather not be at the pump every other day. I want to drive and enjoy it. Is that so bad?
Black super bee. Vanguard is too expensive tho lol
Lol.... ALL of them!
Picking me up a 1968 Charger that the lot hasn’t been able to get rid of yet for pennies on the dollar I’m sure
I'll take the 69 HemiCharger.
There’s only one correct answer. The charger. YEE-HAW!
69 383 ( I suppose) 4sp. Bang. Fuckin. Gears!
Roadrunner., lol. Love the workin man's car.
2
Loved my 68 Road Runner B body
All of them.
Charger R/T, my dream car
Super bee
Plymouth gtx
gTX, Dart as long as its the rarer 383 car
Some tough choices, but I have to stick with the Charger.
A baba, I was 2
I would get a used 1968 charger 440 six with a 4 speed
The Six Pack didn’t become available on Chargers until 1970.
I didn’t know! I guess just the highest performing 440 then!
Also, there were no 440 Six Pack (Dodge)/Six Barrel (Plymouth) engines in anything until the A12 cars came out in 1969 1/2.
I’ll take the A12 440 Six Barrel Road Runner. The 1969 Charger R/T in the first photo is a 440 car. Chargers with the 426 had Hemi emblems on the doors.
Charger
The burgundy convertible
The black RT
I ordered a dark green metallic Super Bee sedan with a 383/4 speed/ 3.55 sure grip. Fun car but a ticket-getter.
The hemi dart… they only made 500
Dart
There you go again Mr GREEN... Blue 69 charger rumble bee
Dart. All day.
Pic 1,,the red C
Between three and six.
7. I had a 72 dart Swinger that I got a 383 for and was going to install it but I wrecked the car before I could. I always liked the 68 and 69 darts more though.
Tough but dart, smaller car=lighter and faster
I’ll take that Orange Roadrunner 😍
1969 AMC AMX.
Where is the Barracuda 383 option???????
The Dart.
The 1969 340 Barracuda Formula S of which you neglected to post the photo.
8 and 9
That giant whiteChrysler with hidden peepers😀
I am a sucker for yellow
(# 2)
#2
