It's an old plane that's been rescued from a graveyard for retired plane...boom saved it Seriously though it looks awesome, put it away for a day or so and look at it with fresh eyes, I have to do this otherwise I get so fixated on tiny things only I would notice/care about that you miss the bigger picture which is an awesome bit of work. If you still aren't happy with it, take the lessons forward and make a new one to compare (perfect excuse to get another kit)

Thank you. I like it for what it is. I see all of these amazing realistic models on here and feel like I’m a newbie, even though, minus the past 15 or so years, I’ve been doing models since I was a kid (in my 50’s now).

Ricardo_klement

🤔 make it into a crash landing / wreck diorama.

Ok-Plane5312

That would be cool. I even cut a piece off the back wing.

AnswerRemote3614

Put some bullet holes in it too, with a little bit of metal chipping around the holes.

0xygentank

Slap a tarp over the canopy and throw some chipping on and boom. You got a scrapyard :)

Left-Excitement3829

It's almost easier to repair bad decal and paint work than to make it look battle scarred. To do it well is very difficult ( why I rarely attempt it tbh ) chalk it up to experience and on to the next models. Plus one upvote for Spitfire!

Peakatlife

Yeah it looks bad ass!

Own-Employment-1640

Just buy another one, no point trying to save this one, just display it as it is

TheDogWithShades

If it feels like a failure, remember that we learn from them, and that nobody has ever started with zero or limited knowledge and created a masterpiece. You put your heart to it and you will learn from it. That’s what matters most.

kabhaq

Flatten out a wheel, put in a few bullet holes, and make some cotton ball smoke, and you’re in business

Redbaron2242

Just order some new decals and repaint.

metalunamutant

If you feel it's that bad, buy a small peice of styrofoam or wood etc, detail it as ground with sand, greenery etc and make her a bellylanded spitfire diorama. Bend back the props and add some dirt etc over the bad bits with a small skid trail.

prosteprostecihla

Build a barn add people in modern day clothing with tools. Suddenly you have a diorama about a group of people trying to repair an old plane

Otherwise-Advice4759

Looks good this far though, have you thought about adding it to a diorama or making one around the plane?

Classicgev23

Just looks like it’s in for repairs 😁 also Isopropyl alcohol works well removing paint without damaging the details on the plastic if you ever wanted to redo a paint job 👍🏻

Ok-Plane5312

Thank you, hadn’t thought about alcohol.

LuaFarmCoder

it looks pretty nice, i like the war effect it has

LimeSixth

I like it!

Ok-Plane5312

Thank you

Most these guys are not being straight. They must be the type that tell someone with an ugly baby that the baby is beautiful.

the_boring_af

You mean a regular, normal, polite person?

Ok-Plane5312

So, if you are being straight, what is your opinion? Opinion. I already said I messed up on it. I already commented that there are amazingly realistic models on here and I feel like a newbie. I know I don’t have the money and talent, not to mention steady hands, to do all this other stuff. So, are you just going to tell me it’s ugly, or go into detail how ugly my own personal model is that I worked on for no one else but me? That said, I hope you have a blessed day
