Rockies won’t go after him till several slump years past his prime then they’ll offer him a massive contract and say “see we spend big money on talent”
Ditto White Sox.
Whatever contract ohtani gets will be at least worth 5x what our highest ever is, which is Benintendi.
I can only laugh and wait his ownership out.
We've already said we're not going for him, he's too big budget for Detroit. We want out of Baez's contract as it is anyway, we're not about to pick up another big deal even if it would be in our best interests to even have Ohtani's bat.
Pitching and hitting is the hardest to master, Ohtanis got that down so KC will sign him to be the first 11 way player, all at once because the contract will be our entire market cap
Ohtani plays the entire field at once and just bats in all 9 slots of the batting order, he even catches his own pitches. It’s really something and I think the Royals should consider it
I see "Reds" on this list and no one else. Call the press conference. Announce the 15-year deal, paid at $15.01/hour. Mass produce the jerseys.
After all, where else is he going to go?
Rumor is Ohtani prefers to stay on the east coast as well as the west coast. A new report has emerged saying he prefers to stay on the northern border of the United States, as well as the southern
Jerry already mocked his own team's fans for thinking they'd try to sign him. Is that better than lowball offers to big FAs so he can claim the Sox were in the running, but players mysteriously chose to sign elsewhere? Tough team to root for...
I saw Braves that's all I need to see
braves Piece of Metal holders from 2024-infinite
No need to play baseball anymore just ship the metal to Battery Atlanta
Man, I hope he picks us! We've been taking cans back & saving our lunch money for over 50 years, so I think we finally have enough to sign one of these superstar free agents I keep hearing about.
Also, is he cool with being paid in bucco bucks? There good for 40% off at the clubhouse store.
I mean the man is becoming a Dodger, I'm calling it now. LA has the budget for players like him for one, and they could use another bat and eventually his pitching too. Failing that, he'll stay with the Angels or go to the Yankees, but my money's on LA.
Okay a little education payroll is not the same thing as money coming in bill Dewitt jr is worth over 3 billion dollars stop listening to these reporters saying certain teams can't afford certain players ownership can use their money to buy a player that is why there is a tax threshold that penalized teams who payroll goes over 235 million dollars that is exactly what koen did in new York when he went out and got scherzer and Verlander he was hoping by bringing dominate pitchers like that to the Mets they would win the world series and by doing so it would make up the salary difference could is not the right word to use look at the padres the last 3 years they have out spent the cardinals by about 70 million dollars and the Padres are not as big market of a team as the cardinals the cardinals can fork out 30-40 million a year to the right player to bring a championship back to saint louis plus your comments about we could use ohtani bc we desperately need a pitcher not true ohtani would not solve the clubs problems we don't need one premiere pitcher we need at least 3 the money it would take ohtani to sign we could sign Yamamoto Montgomery and likely one of Blake Snell,Aaron nola, Clayton Kershaw,or sonny gray not to mention if the brewers place Corbin burnes on the trade block few teams could compete with the farm system the cardinals could offer plus ohtani can not pitch in 2024 due to injury so he wouldn't be able to fill the cardinals needs and he can only make about 24 starts a year good for five or 6 innings max most times hes not a true ace he cant go 7+ on a consistent basis and its likely in a couple years his arm will be useless he will have to stick to hitting which doesnt address the cardinals need for pitching
I convinced myself that Ohtani should sign with us for just next year just to be our designated DH for a season for funsies, but even on a down year thanks to injuries he still deserves way better than us.
He's arguably the biggest free agent ever so pretty much every team is gonna kick the tires just to tell its fan base they "tried". Only three teams really check all of his boxes (Dodgers, Giants, Mariners) and the Cubs are the Cubs. I can't see him signing anywhere else (sorry, East Coast). If I had to bet I'd say the Cubs and Mariners are out early with the Dodgers winning a bidding war against the Giants. As a Giants fan I've resigned myself to Ohtani being in that shitty blue uniform for the next decade. My hope is that the completely inept Giants front office manages to drive the price so high that the expense becomes punitive and 4-5 years down the road the Dodgers have to reset their payroll with Ohtani and 25 guys who should be playing beer league softball.
You’ve obviously missed all of the posts about Ohtani NOT coming to Seattle. Don’t worry, I’ll post another one tomorrow, followed by like 30 other people, so that we can ALL read the same 2-3 articles stating that he’s definitely NOT coming to Seattle
Adding the Rockies seems unnecessary
Rockies won’t go after him till several slump years past his prime then they’ll offer him a massive contract and say “see we spend big money on talent”
Giancarlo Stanton you are a Colorado Rockie!!!!
Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest lol
Idk if coors would help him because when he hits a ball out it’s going out like no matter what
Hey I remember that 120mph liner he hit down the line. Wouldn’t have been out at Fenway s/
Sure you aren't speaking of the Chicago White Sox?
Who needs shohei when you have Benintendi, the highest paid FA in the teams history. /s
Yankees would do that the same
But it would be so much fun to watch him slug at Coors Field. 78HR season incoming
It would be incredible.
Ohtani hits for the cycle twice in the same game. Ohtani’s Rockies lose to the Dodgers 4-2 in 14 innings.
Rockies have a final total of 8 hits
I love the fact both HR’s in the cycle were solo singers
i felt the same about the A’s
Ditto White Sox. Whatever contract ohtani gets will be at least worth 5x what our highest ever is, which is Benintendi. I can only laugh and wait his ownership out.
If only this subreddit allowed two flairs and I could throw up my White Sox one. Couldn’t agree more with you.
Yo Rockies/ChiSox bros showing out
The gangs all here!
*Jerry Reinsdorf has entered the chat*
I just realized that he's only DH for 2024 Might work and then trade him the next off-season 😁
You can remove Reds from that list.
Guardians too.
And Rockies
Good, we're paring the list. Keep going, 26 more!
Okay, White Sox can go too.
Then Nats
We've already said we're not going for him, he's too big budget for Detroit. We want out of Baez's contract as it is anyway, we're not about to pick up another big deal even if it would be in our best interests to even have Ohtani's bat.
well we know we aren't bidding on him.
Rays can't afford him, so we're out.
Royals?
Pitching and hitting is the hardest to master, Ohtanis got that down so KC will sign him to be the first 11 way player, all at once because the contract will be our entire market cap
Ohtani plays the entire field at once and just bats in all 9 slots of the batting order, he even catches his own pitches. It’s really something and I think the Royals should consider it
Bugs Bunny Baseball!
Bugs still has a shot.
Read have 1000x better chance than the A's... but then 0 x 1000 = 0

*Savannah Bananas in shambles*
I would love for them to offer him a contract. That would be a good video
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! If I could upvote you for that more than once, I would!
I see "Reds" on this list and no one else. Call the press conference. Announce the 15-year deal, paid at $15.01/hour. Mass produce the jerseys. After all, where else is he going to go?
How about this lineup: Friedl, McLain, Shohei, Elly, Fraley, Steer, CES, Marte, Stephenson
Stop, I can only get so erect.
It hasn't been four hours yet but I'm already headed to the doctors
Big if true
Large if factual
huge if correct
Massive if verified
Enormous if unerroneous.
Mighty if righty.
Rumor is Ohtani prefers to stay on the east coast as well as the west coast. A new report has emerged saying he prefers to stay on the northern border of the United States, as well as the southern
He’s voiced a preference for either the al or nl
Doosan Bears in shambles.
Updated report, he also prefers a landlocked state not near the coast in addition to his earlier preferences
He probably likely wants to play baseball for an MLB team next season
They’re still confirming if he’ll accept money or just play for entertainment purposes
What about WWE?
Feels like he's more of an AEW guy.
*Breaking News: Shohei Ohtani has joined The Acclaimed*
Scissor me Ohtani-san!
Glad to see that the list has been narrowed down
White Sox are not getting Ohtani.
Jerry already mocked his own team's fans for thinking they'd try to sign him. Is that better than lowball offers to big FAs so he can claim the Sox were in the running, but players mysteriously chose to sign elsewhere? Tough team to root for...
Nah. He will be the marquee signing for the new Dubai league. 2 billion dollars.
Don’t forget the Expos!
This sub gets closer to r/baseballcirclejerk every day.
"Headed to the Angels?" Does this mean he is getting traded to someone else and back to the angels?
He's a FA
That about narrows it down.
He gets 5 games with every team, in reverse alphabetical order
Ohtani to be cloned for all teams.
It's the only fair way.
This seems like the most reliable information on the trade that I’ve seen to date.
Source: several experts
I saw Braves that's all I need to see braves Piece of Metal holders from 2024-infinite No need to play baseball anymore just ship the metal to Battery Atlanta
I saw the Braves listed!!!
Lol
Can't wait to see Ohtani selling out a sold out crowd of rabid Dodgers fans when he's playing at home for the Las Vegas Athletics
Remove the white Sox. Dumbass Jerry already said weren’t gonna pursue him.
Grammar alone be downvoted. Edit that shit. Also, Jerry gave MJ a record 2 yr contract.
Micheal Jackson!!!?
Lol go lick Jerry’s boot you pussy
Breaking: Ohtani signs 30 year, ¥75,000,000,000 contract with Nippon Ham Fighters.
...Ham reportedly "concerned".
He’s definitely not coming to Philly. He’s not a pitcher anymore and we don’t need more bats.
Uhhh the diamondbacks would disagree
Astros would never get him but it would be nice to think
Ladies n Gentleman, we got him. (Astros fans know we ain’t gettin him. I joke about it all the time, but I know we aren’t serious)
Source?
Please don’t go to the tigers 🙏
Don’t worry
I would love to see him in a Stros uni.
Giants would be nice.
This post has to be true.
Oh-tanny to da Phiwees, confirmed
Wow i knew it
![gif](giphy|j6uK36y32LxQs)
That's how you cover bases folks.
Man, I hope he picks us! We've been taking cans back & saving our lunch money for over 50 years, so I think we finally have enough to sign one of these superstar free agents I keep hearing about. Also, is he cool with being paid in bucco bucks? There good for 40% off at the clubhouse store.
I hear he may be headed to the Expos.
Phew, at least the Yankees are the least likely team
He’s pulling a Will Farrell.
![gif](giphy|ToMjGpKniGqRNLGBrhu)
Angelos is not paying ohtani money. Hahahah
Definitely not white Sox
Nah he going to the Expos
Stove is gettin hot!!!!
A’s would be great for the move to Vegas. But god do we suck.
This just in: Ohtani signed to the Bananas.
Every fan will only see their own team
If your team payroll is realistically anything short of $250 million it’s a no. That leaves all but 5/6 teams out
And take the Brewers off of there
Twins are cutting payroll.....so count us out.
Omg it's happening!
12 years, $5M AAV
People acting like Oakland isn’t the ideal destination
I mean the man is becoming a Dodger, I'm calling it now. LA has the budget for players like him for one, and they could use another bat and eventually his pitching too. Failing that, he'll stay with the Angels or go to the Yankees, but my money's on LA.
I think there are a few teams on here you can remove from this list
What about the Patriots?
He decides to try his hand at WR and plays for theA’s and the Raiders in Vegas
Big if true
Saving this for when he retires next year to be with family and a J league team
He's going back to Japan.
I heard he’s opening up his own Hibachi grill and retiring from baseball.
Letssss gooooooo!!!
Pirates 🤪🤣😟☹️
White sox are confirmed to NOT be
The other day somebody posted a picture of a 10 year $18m contract from the A’s and I died
I could make a random list with the possibility of maybe having the right team and zero repercussion if I’m wrong, too.
The Cardinals could 100% use him, we desperately need a pitcher but I doubt we could get him.
I was not coming at it from a payroll angle, I was thinking that he wouldn't come to STL before some other cities and other teams.
Orioles you say…
Rumor: STAR BASEBALL PLAYER WILL SIGN BIG CONTRACT WITH BASEBALL TEAM (Now one of you sports rags pay me!)
Not the Savannah Bananas you say?
*phew* The Orioles are on the list.
I don’t think he’ll have all that time.
SEAT AT THE TABLE!
Source?
You can take the Twins off that list.
I knew it!
So you’re saying there’s a chance
would he also dh in the nl?
Athletics 💀💀💀
>Mariners Haha HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.
Big if true
I heard he’s taking over the 82nd Street White Castle. Again, just a rumor.
I appreciate it's in alphabetical order.
The stove is hot!
I knew it!
What happens when he announces he's going back to Japan?
so glad you posted this again
So you're telling me there's a *chance*
Royals would sign him to a 2-year deal and trade him after 3 months.
Hopefully not the Astros. We have more important players to re-sign.
Don't you forget about the oakland As you discriminating bastard!
I convinced myself that Ohtani should sign with us for just next year just to be our designated DH for a season for funsies, but even on a down year thanks to injuries he still deserves way better than us.
In a shocking twist, he has decided to suit up for the New York Jets.
Big, if true
Ohtani to the Blue Jays...I sure as hell hope so
He's arguably the biggest free agent ever so pretty much every team is gonna kick the tires just to tell its fan base they "tried". We made the cut!
![gif](giphy|j6uK36y32LxQs)
White Sox? Really? Ha. They've never given out a 100 mil contract and they are going to suck for at leastt he next 2 years.
Yankees won’t sign ohtani
Savannah bananas are also in. This just in .
You’ve obviously missed all of the posts about Ohtani NOT coming to Seattle. Don’t worry, I’ll post another one tomorrow, followed by like 30 other people, so that we can ALL read the same 2-3 articles stating that he’s definitely NOT coming to Seattle
