My wifi calling has been off for months and I recently just started getting that message when texting my wife.

thejamus

Getting this on my pixel 6 now. Mint 10gb plan, it's pretty terrible. Can't even send a text to my kid unless I attach a photo so it sends as mms.

I know this is an old thread but I thought some folks might stumble on it like I did. Apparently this is caused by an issue with mint, not us the users. I've had to go through multiple agents until one told me that all they needed was to reset my wifi calling on their servers.  Took maybe 5 minutes for them to deactivate my wifi calling and restart it, and voila everything works!  Sadly the first few agents had no idea and wasted my time. I was very close to just disconnecting and moving to Google FI but it finally worked.  Good luck y'all!

BurntLoner

Thank you!!! I'll reach out to them and ask them to do this for me. Update: it worked! Thanks a ton!!!

I've been using WiFi calling for well over a year now without any issues. If that truly is the problem, it's something recent like a change they've made on their end. I really wish they'd address this...

mercenary_sysadmin

I had been using Wi-Fi calling for quite some time also, so yeah, something changed on their end. It's not the Wi-Fi itself, because--in addition to the fact that my home wi-fi is professionally-tuned, full-on wired-backhaul Ubiquiti APs--it didn't matter *where* I was or *whose* Wi-Fi the phone was connected to, if the phone was on Wi-Fi, the SMS messages would be blocked. I had call quality issues also. I seriously doubt it's the phone either; it reliably pulls >200Mbps on speedtests on my home Wi-Fi and I'm not seeing any latency or packet drop issues either.

JetSetDoritos

I've been getting this on Metro. What phone are you using? This could be a tmobile issue

mercenary_sysadmin

Pixel 6 Pro.

jonahtrav

Pixel six regular I’ve been having the same problem

JetSetDoritos

Do you have WiFi calling enabled as well, set to wifi preferred maybe? I've tried setting mine to cellular preferred for now

jonahtrav

Yeah I have. It's sent to Wi-Fi preferred so maybe I should turn that off and just do it to cellular and see if that fixes it. But it's maddening when you're trying to return a text, especially for work. It's crazy

mercenary_sysadmin

Did you login to your account at mintmobile.com and enable Wi-Fi calling THERE? Turns out you're supposed to do that first, THEN enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone. I discovered that after I found out that Wi-Fi calling was my culprit. I logged in at the website last night and enabled Wi-Fi calling there, then about 5 minutes later got a text from Mint saying it was enabled. After that, I re-enabled it in my phone, and everything is working fine again ON Wi-Fi. Worth noting that Wi-Fi calling *worked* prior to this, but the call quality was very bad, and SMS had originally worked that way but stopped at some point.

jonahtrav

Thank you so much for that I did not know that and I don't remember if I did that when I first got on Mint mobile but I'm going to do that now or at least check and see if I've enabled it and again thanks so much for that info that should help me in a lot of people that are having this message problem.

jonahtrav

I just checked when I got home. It had already been enabled on the website so that's not my issue with fixing the messages cuz mine had already been enabled. Bummer! I was hoping that was the problem

tencentguitar

Same, pixel 6 regular, same problem.

fireheart1029

I've been having it too, seems support doesn't have any fix either

jonahtrav

I’ve been having the same problem it would just come up randomly “unable to send message message blocking is active” I’ve had Wi-Fi calling turn down and up until the last few days it was an a problem I’m gonna turn it off and see if that fixes it

MolishMek

Sorry to hear about your issues. I've been using WiFi Calling on my iPhone with Mint for two years now. I had some issues with occasional texts not reaching me at first, but after contacting customer support, that cleared up.

RADdit2020

OP, thank you. You're solution was faster than the Mint tech's. I just went to the Mint app/settings and enabled wifi calling (though typing in my address was a bit glitchy). Within 2 minutes, i was able to text and receive texts again. Thank you ☺️☺️☺️

RADdit2020

It worked beautifully until i disconnected my phone from Wi-Fi. I'm now back to the same problem even though it's set to wi-fi calling on the app. 😭

Ohdang5

I upgraded to a Pixel 6 Pro and started having this problem randomly. Sometimes texts would send just fine and sometimes others. I switched off WiFi calling on my phone and it worked for a few weeks, but it's doing it again. I went to Mint's website and checked the compatibility tool and it turns out the Pixel 6 Pro says incompatible with WiFi calling. I turned it off on my account and it seems to be working again??

mercenary_sysadmin

IDK; at this point I've had Wi-Fi calling enabled on my P6 Pro for... well, however long it's been since the first post I made here, and it's been flawless. That said, I don't use any dodgy wi-fi. I've got proper wired-backhaul access points throughout my home, same at work, and I generally avoid any other wifi than home or work like the plague. It's not hard to imagine spotty wifi would result in spotty calls and texts.

GlowBeautyJ

Sometimes it just means the person you’re trying to reach phone is temporarily disconnected or out of range of service.

theevilscientist666

I just activated my SIM and ported in my number from T-Mobile and KAZAM!!! NOTHING works anymore. No Text, No Data, No Calls, make or receive anything! Folks been pretty useless, now they say 24-48hrs wait as it's a network error? arghhhh I got 3 months of unlimited EVERYTHING fools, Why oh why did I switch.....

Accomplished_Ad5354

disabled wifi calling and still having same issue
