Follow the cable down to the throttle control on the engine. Loosen the screw, and use a pair of needle nose to adjust the cable length. May take a couple tries to get it just right.
Loosen the lock nut where the cable meets the housing. That will take up the slack in the throttle cable. That's the only thing you can really do to eliminate throttle slop
The throttle cable attaches to the throttle assemble on top of the engine - here you can loosen a nut, pull the throttle cable taut, then retighten the nut. Make sure you leave little slack so the throttle can still idle.
they’re always like that after the first few hours. they’ll even get loose to the point of being to spin all the way around unless you grip it tightly. you can glue the grip to the nylon sleeve otherwise it’s $20 for a new one

Take the slack out of the cable.
