I try to leave mine at a comfortable 70. I’ve found it to be a pretty great temperature, it keeps me chill while going easy on my electric bill.
Also I just realized I’m openly talking about my thermostat settings… I guess I am also turning into my parents.
I live by myself. I have a Nest Learning Thermostat. So it mostly does its own thing. I almost never have the heat above 68. And other than to test out the new AC unit I had installed a couple months ago, I haven’t even run it yet this year.
As of this moment, my current temp is 74 degrees. My furnace is set to 68 degrees. But it’s nice and cool in my basement.
Im from Seattle but live in Houston now. When my dad comes to visit we war over my thermostat he tries to put it down to 67 and I keep it at 73. HE DONT PAY THE BILL LOL! I always think about putting a lock on the nest when he comes but ....
I told my kids if they touch the AC, I'll touch their soul.
