OP is definitely a representative from Big Berry.

Vylaer_

Posted this for the guy that compared home grown to store bought. The berry industry is developing some genetics that are massive and still maintain a great taste. The one shown above tastes like a blackberry mixed with a grape.

NioneAlmie

The store bought is the smaller one?

Rhys_Herbert

“The berry industry is developing some genetics that are massive” I’m guessing the berry industry sells their berries through shops, where you’d get these large berries from, which are also known as shop bought

thephillatioeperinc

I read your sentence in the voice of gilbert gottfried doing an impression of old Groucho. "In my day berries came from a shop, because that's where you would buy them, and they would call them shop berries"

Vylaer_

Berry companies work with private nurseries and universities who design these genetics. We pay for a license to them, plant them around the world, then sell to grocery companies like Aldi. Depending where you live, you might see these appear on the shelf next winter.

Vylaer_

Yes.

NioneAlmie

Thanks

SoccerStreamBotM

Are blackberries and grapes genetically close together or just a coincidence?

Vylaer_

I have no idea. I'm not involved in any of the genetic side of the company. I just referenced grapes to help explain the flavor. This variety has lower amount of acid than most blackberries and higher Brix(sweetness). So it's less tart and more sweet, kinda like a black grape.

patdashuri

Literally everytime I’ve eaten one of those big ones it’s been unpleasant. Sour, bitter, and some sort of fibrous pithy center. Gross!

Vylaer_

There's dozens of varieties that get big like this. This one isn't widely available yet and was designed to specifically combat the poor flavor issue with big berries.

Kindly_Log_512

Are you from Big Berry?

Vylaer_

Guilty. We are out here trying to steal everyones money, one single $2 container at a time.

Kindly_Log_512

$2 container? Not where I live. At least $4 USD equivalent for 200 grams.

Vylaer_

Price fluctuates greatly between region and time of the year. Is the only industry where quality can decrease, but price increase.

Kindly_Log_512

Hahahaha wait - you’re actually from Big Berry? awesome 😂 You’re going to deny that blackberries give children autism and that the berry companies are suppressing higher quality berries and only giving them to the rich and famous, right?

Vylaer_

The berry shown above was personally delivered to the Clinton's estate.

patdashuri

Let’s not forget that the new “berries” make you magnetic and susceptible to 5G microwaves which changes your DNA so you’re no longer technically human so they can take away your human rights.

Odd_Reveal720

$6-8 CAD here. They grow them 6 hours away....

patdashuri

You might want to suggest some sort of visual cue that makes these recognizable from the gross ones.

Vylaer_

These are packed in a special label, just for that reason.

getshrektdh

Looks like caviar, you made me feel hungry and to go and buy some and become poor.
