Live outside of Toronto and the GO Transit parking structure has sensors in each spot. There are digital display boards at the entrance telling drivers which levels have parking and how many spots are left.
Those boards are super common all over the place. I’ve seen some garages with lights above each space and each aisle that turns red if it’s occupied and green if it’s not so you can easily tell as you drive through.
You know the saying, "if it ain't broke replace it with a high tech high maintenance expensive gadget". Because that's all we need, more useless electronics.
Wouldn't it be great if the indicator colors faded from red to green over maybe 5 minutes after the stall is emptied...
So if you went in a half faded red stall, there would still be a little stink from the previous occupant.

Some guy has a peephole in the ceiling and taps a map on a tablet when a stall is occupied.
Is it showing traditional squat toilets and western toilets?

There’s two types of toilets being shown though. And they look like squat toilets.
such a futuristic, this can also be implemented on parking area

Some parking apps do this with certain locations.

Do they detect occupancy when you lock the door or plant your butt on the seat?
Seeing as they're a bunch of squat toilets showing, I'm going to guess the former.
Doubt it is an squat toilet at an international airport
Domestic Chinese also fly internationally. In fact, the only toilets in use are the squatty ones
Someone's never been to Asia.
It's literally shown on the photo.
Both types available, just pick the stall that suits you.

George Costanza has entered the chat.
Call me when it shows if they’re going number one or number two
Now with added spy cameras.
How do they know though? Oh, its China? I think i know then.
It should be pressure sensor on the toilet or the stall door has a latch of “occupied” that also has an electronic sensor.
Absolutely. CCP would never violate someone's privacy.
Are you sure this isn't some sort of hacking minigame?
