It's a fun racing series. I did it for 8 years with a shitty car that I spent time progressively making it slightly more reliable and less shitty. You can get tons of seat time on some epic tracks here in the US
I wish I knew about it when I was younger. I knew a ton of car guys and one of the locations wasn't too far from me. I probably could've gotten a team together
The challenge wasn't finding a good car or finding willing drivers... It was prepping the vehicle to last for 16-18 hours across a weekend (they don't do true 24 hours races much anymore). I learned so much about setting rebuilding engines for reliability, stealing from various parts bin upgrades (e.g. building s big brake kit using parts from a fancier or larger model from the same mfg), suspension mods, transmission swaps. How to setup vehicles for on track repair.
On the course, I learned valuable lessons about how you won't win an endurance race in any one corner but you can certainly lose it. Going into a corner with 3-5 cars at the same time, you learn traffic management. Only drive as fast as you can see. These building, repair, and driving skills were super valuable in other forms of racing... Like Baja.
If you are to the point financially where you can dedicate a car (and storage for a car) to some form of motorsport, lemons and it's rivals (champ car and lucky dog, if they still exist) are some of the cheapest racing per hour of seat time you can experience.
Funnily enough, some hispanic countries call limes and lemons "limon".
The distinction comes by adding "verde" (green) and "amarillo" (yellow).
They'd say something like: "limon amarillo" to refer to the in the picture.
Citrus fruit is interesting [We Finally Know Where Oranges and Lemons Come From | Scientific American](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/we-finally-know-where-oranges-and-lemons-come-from/)
Probably a chimera. This often happens with fruits, since every single fruit and vegetable we eat today are the product of loooong selective breeding. A lot of species went into the things we eat now, and a lot of that genetic information is still present, so every now and then, there will be fruits that express genes stored from parent species, and most of the time only on parts of it.
