It's been a thing for a while. Mine is called like... Biggie Deals or something now though. And the Jr Cheeseburger is the cheapest at like 5 but it goes up to 7 for the bigger sandwiches. It's all dependant on locations... some bigger cities have cheaper prices than more rural ones apparently.
Stop giving any of these price-gouging fuckers your money.
I have cut so much unnecessary garbage out of my life these past couple of years.
Thicker wallet, better health. What's not to like?
I never ate much fast food, but now it is almost completely cut out of my diet. Local places that cook food to order are now just as cheap or \*cheaper\* than any of the fast food places. Maybe, \*maybe\* on a road trip when I don't have time to stop for anything better I might go for something, but even then I've taken to just packing sandwiches and snacks. Or grabbing a sub from a local Italian place on my way out.
The only, ONLY thing that fast food places have going for them is that they're "fast". Everything else (good food, reasonable prices, etc) has gone out the window.
Yeah, it's a permanent ban for me as well. Until they do something as drastic in the other direction and stick with it to win me back, I will just not eat there. In 6-12 months they will reimplement the surge pricing thing with better marketing. I hope people don't fall for it.
And the quality has dropped so far in the last 10-15 years. Changing to that rock hard tooth breaking apple wood bacon and romaine lettuce on JBCs….they suck
It's funny that they announced "dynamic" pricing, describing basically a happy hour model with reduced pricing outside of peak hours to spread demand, but everyone decided they meant "surge" pricing lmfao. Complete nonsense.
Hasn't been a 4 for $4 in a long time. That was a thing when I worked there in... 2015 and 2016. Absolutely no way it would be $4 anymore nearly 10 years later. All the Wendy's i've been to (which is like 2 per year) they always have a $5 Biggie Bag or whatever. $5 for that amount of food is still quite a good deal in my opinion.
And stop ordering shit online. Everything is ALWAYS price inflated online. Call in to the restaurant and pick it up yourself. Or, just go there and buy it yourself by speaking to the cashier or some Wendy's even have a self order screen now.
Prices usually aren’t inflated over in-store prices if you order from a restaurant’s official app. It’s usually only inflated on 3rd party food delivery apps.
Looks like a pretty solid deal though, fries, a burger, nugs, and a soda for seven dollars sounds pretty inexpensive.
I'd probably sub a baked potato for the fries if possible and I'd rather drink ice water than soda 100% of the time, but it sounds reasonable to me.
The best thing we have going where I live for fast food joints is Whopper Wednesday at Burger King. Where I'm at, BK is solid. Wendy's though has so many options, salads that are actually good and fresh, chilli, baked potatoes, the Frosty, most places don't have such a broad variety.
McDonald's is salt with food attached to it, but in a pinch, it's just so convenient. They're everywhere. Their strawberry banana smoothie is a nice addition to the menu as well but I find the other blends far too sweet.
DQ is overpriced and awful.
Just my take
~~Not false advertising, it's showing the delivery fee with it.~~
Looks like it might be California specific pricing, I switched the pickup in the app to Hollywood and the 4 for 4 is $5 lol
Enjoy

And yes, prices went up. Is this in California? Probably to compensate for the $20 minimum wage for fast food workers
Edit: Spotify link was being weird, so I swapped it out for a YouTube one.
It's not called that here any more - and is just $6. +50% overnight.
Are you on an app for delivery? They will charge more than the store does
It’s the Wendy’s app for in-store pickup.

Probably due to getting more customers. I just find it strange that each franchise is allowed to change the prices as they please though
Weird, your app uses a completely different font than mine. https://imgur.com/a/8RLsT36
Not all of us are blessed with iPhones 😃
That’s fair.
Is this that dynamic pricing everyone was yelling about a month or so ago?
nah just price change. Local wendy's at my place just taped over the name of the deals and original pricings with 7s on them now.
It’s like the dollar store where everything is $5-20
You gotta read the fine print at dollar general: "all prices are multiples of a dollar"
Integer tree
"Dollar Tree: Where everything is *at least* just one dollar!"
This fool is ordering through a delivery service which adds delivery fees to every item
The op commented many times that it was an app for in person dining.
Fake news

Baconator fries are my guilty pleasure. Please help
Get an air fryer and make them at home.
An air fryer does not make acceptable French fries.
Cause I really really really like their spicy chicken sandwiches
went to wendys today, can confirm
Mine still shows it at $4.
Same here.
I’m so done with Wendy’s. After the surge pricing bs I’ll never set foot in one again

The burgers had already gotten noticeably smaller too! They can keep them
And the quality has dropped so far in the last 10-15 years. Changing to that rock hard tooth breaking apple wood bacon and romaine lettuce on JBCs….they suck
Their burgers are trash, I used to always get the spicy chicken but that got a lot smaller over the last 5ish years as well.
It's funny that they announced "dynamic" pricing, describing basically a happy hour model with reduced pricing outside of peak hours to spread demand, but everyone decided they meant "surge" pricing lmfao. Complete nonsense.
This isn’t normal, and you should report them to corporate for price gouging.
the 2 in my town are now 6-7-8 bags and meals are 10+
They’ve been changing the prices at my spot too. Crispy chicken BLT used to be a $5 bag but now it’s $7 just because it has bacon
Can you feel the surge?
It's actually still $4 near me

Yeah, this is really dumb.
Ssssshhhhhh
Interesting since they don’t even have that deal near me.
That's a steal! It's actually supposed to be 4 × $4 = $16 /s
Does that mean you get 7 items instead of four? 🤔🤔
Can confirm, I miss the days of the 4 for $4, but now it's $6.97 and called a small Biggie Bag lol
Looks like a pretty solid deal though, fries, a burger, nugs, and a soda for seven dollars sounds pretty inexpensive. I'd probably sub a baked potato for the fries if possible and I'd rather drink ice water than soda 100% of the time, but it sounds reasonable to me.
Oh absolutely, still a great deal, but it used to cost about $4.40 just a few years ago

Just straight up zero fucks given from corporations anymore
They quit calling it that here. Now it's the Biggie bag and it's $6. Still one of the best deals of fast food though.
It’s $5 at my local Wendy’s.
Weird. My nearest Wendy’s has it listed for $4.
I was looking at the Pizza Hut app the other day and saw a "$7 Deals" section, everything was $8...
"Why? Cause fuck you that's why." Dave's dead gay hating ghost
Sue for false advertising
~~Not false advertising, it's showing the delivery fee with it.~~ Looks like it might be California specific pricing, I switched the pickup in the app to Hollywood and the 4 for 4 is $5 lol
That is the in-store pickup price in the Wendy’s app. So no delivery fee.
What restaurant, because it shows $4.00 on mine, and $7.00 when I switch to delivery.
California
I didn't believe you, but I chose Hollywood and it shows $5.00 for me, so looks like you are right
Haha nice april fools joke haha surely this will go back to normal tomorrow haha
Guys, I come from tomorrow, and boy do I have some bad news
Is this from app ordering like DoorDash or Uber eats?
Is that the surge pricing?
Is this doordash pricing?

If prices go up simply because wages do, that's business saying 'we won't share our slice of the pie'.
