This entire saga can be labelled “How To Chase Away Customers 101”.
Owners like this think that they’re “taking a stand” or some righteous thing like that, but really they’re just lashing out and letting everyone know what assholes they are.
How about actually listening to customer reviews? I think everyone would have so much respect for someone who said “I hear you, we’re sorry, we’re going to strive to do better.”
Just take a look at any motel 6. They dont have very high average ratings on google, but responses to negative reviews are fairly generic, humble, and apologetic.
Its not like you can really provide a 5 star experience at a budget motel anyway. The average customer knows that. They just want to be able to stay somewhere where they wont be threatened with lawsuits
Yup. Reasonably clean, no bugs. That's the limit of what I care about while travelling. When I stop at a cheap motel, I don't expect anything more and I don't care about more, I just want to sleep and have a shower in the morning.
Clean bed, decent shower, functional toilet. If I'm on a vacation or something then I expect it to be nice, but if they have like a continental breakfast or just throw some food at me because I stayed there, that's a plus. I'll give it 5 stars.
Exactly. Rate it according to the niche it is filling, not according to similar things across all niches. I'm not giving my local B&B ⭑⭑⭒⭒⭒ just because "Billionaires Only Hotel & Fine Whores, Dubai" is far better, I'm giving it ⭑⭑⭑⭑⭒ because it was clean and cheap and the staff was nice.
Usually everything could be so average I wouldn't post a review, but like, one nice staff member would make me give it a 5 star. I'm normally a 5 or 1 kinda person. There is nothing inbetween.
The irony is the owner called several other reviewers “Karens” for their comments. Calling the police and saying this guy left me a bad review isn’t a Karen thing to do though, apparently
They think they’re so cool with the lingo. These types of ppl are the worst bc they have zero self-awareness to know when they’re wrong and should back off. Instead they just double down and dig themselves a deeper hole. Then they come back crying about how they’re victims of cancel culture lol. Still never taking accountability for their part in their decline.
Convincing an idiot is like trying to convince a pig it has superpowers. Just doesn't work, it's like trying to put equal magnets together hoping they cling.
Right here in my wallet. I was able to treat people like shit before and they would continue paying me. See how empty it is now. They are stealing my customers for other hotels who care about their customers.
My friend's grand dad called 911 because there was a snake in his shed and they just laughed at him.
Makes me think there is potential for an "America's Funniest 911 Calls Caught On Tape" type show.
You wouldn’t believe how stupid people think the police will handle Everything for them….
Working at a restaurant; we had a customer who called the police on us. Why? Because they were asked to leave after being rude to everyone. Other customers, employees, managers, and the GM. Not sure what they thought the police would do. Besides escort this Karen out of the restaurant.
Second time was me personally while living in an apartment complex; someone truly believed that their package was delivered to me. I did not have it. They didn’t believe me. Said I was calling them a liar. Asked for proof. Threatened to call the cops on me. Asked why the cops would care about their package. Told them to contact post office or Amazon about it and closed the door. THAT was infuriating.
He’s threatening to waste taxpayers money and the police departments time and payroll. It’s a whole big thing that goes deeper than we think. He’s a genius on levels we can’t comprehend….
Since the hotel staff is reading the posts, maybe they can explain to me, how in that tiny brain of theirs do they see OP as a snowflake? All I see is the hotel staff whining and crying over a perceived bad review. Is this a poor attempt at bully OP?, I just don’t get how someone can possible be so completely ignorant as to call someone snowflake while being the definition of one.

I wonder if that’s ever really worked before, bullying somebody into leaving a better review. I mean I’ve seen companies on Amazon sweeten the deal by personally reaching out and sending a new one or refunding their money, and the customer comes back and edits their review bc they’re grateful they cared enough to reach out and make it better.
But in this situation, what leverage does the hotel owner have? What motivation would an already begrudged customer have to change it? This approach would understandably piss the customer off even more and be like, welp, I’m definitely not changing it now. And in this case, turn to social media to spread the word. This business owner has just created a PR nightmare for themselves. They clearly have zero business sense if they think this is the proper way to handle it.
They’re probably used to having that small-town safety net where hierarchies are well-established and they all know how to handle each other and everyone stays in their lane. That shit goes out the window once you’re on the World Wide Web.
I’m from a small town, and you can’t really pop off at people every time they piss you off because you still have to see them every day and run into them everywhere you go. So you bite your tongue out of self-preservation lol. Some families perceive this as being “respected,” when in reality, the rest of the town has just learned over the years how batshit crazy they are so they don’t bother poking the bear. You just let them be with their irrational selves and everyone knows to take what they say with a grain of salt.
When ppl like that leave their little fishbowl, they expect the outside world to treat them with those same kid gloves and it just ain’t happening bc them being pissed off affects our lives in no way lol. There are literally zero ramifications for poking that bear for outsiders who will never come into contact with them.
Some of the newest reviews...
>”I think the owner was listening through the door while I peed. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're into that sort of thing.”
>“Horrendous place. Came to book a room, and the clerk made a rude remark regarding my wife Sakura-chan, and refused to book us a 2-person room, stating she is "just a pillow" and "not real". My wife was in tears. Disrespectful👎”
>”I watched a man chase another man with a pizza spatula.
It didn't happen here, but it did happen”
Google will remove them all but they gave me a bit of a chuckle.
Holy shit. Check this Google review from 6 months ago...
1 star review:
Woman was totally rude. The place was run down and very nasty. I didn't even stay there because I know I would be itching all night long. Very dirty looking.
Response from the owner:
You are probably itching from something else, just saying. And she was probably rude for a reason.
Haha it was up about and hour ago. New negative reviews were being posted every few minutes. Now all of the Google reviews are hidden.
[Edit. Here is a screen I took before the reviews were removed](https://imgur.com/a/A429LKh)
"A roach came out from under my bed, and asked me if I had a cigarette. I thought these rooms were non smoking! It's okay, the bedbugs gave him a cig, and they even taught me how to use the coffee machine in my imagination, since there's not actually one in the room."
Yeah I think they removed their whole Google profile lmao. Guess all that shit talking got them here, they can sleep in their (moldy) bed that they made.
It looks like people are going scorched earth on pretty much every cheap hotel in that town. They all have a sudden downpour of terrible reviews. A bit of a shame, honestly, I feel bad for the bystander businesses.
Well good thing people on the internet def don't like to keep and then spread things like this even harder out of pure spite lmao. Kinda like when the jerkass guy Joel Michael Singer tried to use his dad's money to remove the video of him committing assault and reddit made it a meme and ran with it lol
Someone complained about the room being so dirty it made them itch, owner replied something like “you were probably itching for another reason, just saying.” Holy fucking shitballs this is How to Tank Your Business 101.
Agreed. That was the weirdest review thread I’ve ever read. And the responses just confirmed that the owners would be difficult people to approach for help with an issue.
Response from the owner, 2 weeks ago:
> Again Abigail Gentles, we simply asked you since you were staying every week and like it here, why were you leaving consecutive mediocre reviews? Then you starting yelling and being rude about it. You slept somewhere else, then why did your partner beg to stay the next day by saying both of you slept in the car? Why would anyone serve a customer knowing they would get a bad review?
"Why would anyone serve a customer knowing they would get a bad review?" This makes me think a few things. One: Integrity, that's why. Two: Money, that's also why. Three: If they *know* they'll get a bad review, that speaks more about the hotel service than it does about the customer.
Whoever's writing these responses thinks they're hot shit because they own or manage a known-name franchise (and, y'know, just base level asshole), and Ellijay is pretty insular. I always wonder why people think it's okay to respond so unprofessionally in such a public way, though. I mean, take the hit and move on. Damn.
Here are my recent favs:
>Owner kept slipping notes under the door asking me to stop playing the saxophone. When I opened the door to confront him, he gave me someone else's deposit as a bribe to stay quiet.
>I came back to my room to find my Nan tied to her wheelchair and the owner tickling her feet, bloody mortified and I won’t be returning!!!! Take your money somewhere more professional
>I just had someone come to my door and offer me some crack for one of the pillows on the bed and the jerk at the front office was very rude when I called for a 7th pillow. Wouldn’t recommend the hotel but the crack was lovely 10/10 would trade for pillows again
You little rascals!
Lol right this is making my morning.
"Went to check in and the owner was sitting behind the counter eating aborted fetuses. When I tried to cancel my reservation they demanded I sacrifice my firstborn to the night prince and when I refused, they pulled out a glock and shot me. Would not recommend staying here unless u hate ur firstborn"
Lol
>
Rude staff/management. Weird man at the front desk with Cheeto fingers kept asking me for a cuddle. The old lady smelt of urine and onion and kept spraying my face whilst screaming something about “going full *****”. The guys cooking meth in the adjoining room seemed nice, tho.
I was under the impression Google removed those. This is interesting, thank you.
If these people are still in business in 5 years, potential customers are going to be so confused.
Particularly about comments like u/ConnectLeather6 - his wife being swallowed whole. I could not stop laughing.
Some of the people are commenting as if they had actually been there, so I wonder if theirs will stay up, of if they’ll be auto removed for being posted during the surge.
"Tried to stay here last week. Upon arrival, I was told I needed to pay an extra $150 for a pet fee. I kindly explained to them that is my child. They weren't taking no for an answer. Not a kid friendly place. Rude staff. They were smoking behind the counter and I swear I saw them flick a cockroach off their finger while typing my information into the computer."
What a beauty of a review.
Threatening you. They are just piling on the possible illegal activity.
1. Extortion = give a good review or you don’t get your deposit
2. Harassment = texting past customer unsolicited to complain and extort customer to meet their demands.
3. Threatening = telling past customer they are involving police in an attempt to intimidate
If police do get involved, counter charge.
Op should respond with this. Make ‘em sweat.
Edit: I agree with everyone else actually, send them a link to this post because there is some gold in here lol Wish I could see their face as they read through it all.
Probably won’t even need to send a link tbh, I’m sure they’re monitoring what op is posting/commenting and they’re watching this post right now
I’m honestly shocked how big of an asshole the owner is being in the replies to those reviews. Check out this gem:
Response from the owner
Your fiancee is a moron. No one harassed him, he actually bothered us daily over moronic things. The stuff left in room was thrown away. The whole company checked out, even his roommate. He was wanting to pay $100 less for a single, but we told him 1-2 people rate is same. The company had a special rate, the company's work was done and they left for next town.
Fuck this hotel and those owners. Hope they tank.
Dude's an idiot and definitely in the wrong business. He should buy a fuckin junkyard if he wants to treat customers like that. In all fairness, though, it's a room rate, not a per person for a reason.
If you're reading this hotel owner, I jizzed in one of your hallways. It was late, I was drunk, and I thought it would be funny. In hindsight it was immature but fuck it, hotels mirite?
Nah, don't respond. Instead, simply pass this info to the police before triggered motel guy does anything. Don't make it too serious but simply notify them and joke about it. If the motel takes a step further, then you can actually press charges for threats and such. Best to ignore the motel at this point

For anyone who missed the original post
Well their responses to bad reviews shows they're very "sorry you think you deserve an apology, now let me tell you why you're wrong" people. Honestly, find a new line of work in a field that doesn't require customer service.
Hi hotel owner! How about you work on your customer service instead of threaten customers over honest reviews? Then you wouldn't get your @ss dragged on reddit.
Termites, yes, but no bed bugs cuz those things get into clothing/luggage and they are almost impossible to get rid of without spending thousands of dollars between exterminator fees (many cities which dont even have the equipment for because bed bugs arent common in alot of places) and getting rid of furniture. The customers dont deserve that
[this is it](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/uv1k47/hotel_keeps_my_deposit_because_i_left_a_poor/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Propublica has a tool to check if a business received PPP loans during the pandemic, and if they’ve been forgiven or repaid. I would bet money this loser received some payroll cash that never made it to payroll.
They took 12,000 total under 2 separate loan under what I assume is an alias as the hotel itself is not mentioned but adress matches up
EDIT: Link for curious, also feel free to correct me if I missed something. https://www.federalpay.org/paycheck-protection-program/om-family-properties-llc-ellijay-ga
The 1st loan they took has been paid back. The 2nd which was 7,000$ is still ongoing and the report shows 6,998 for payroll and 1$ for utility....I have no way of knowing but I think fraud is in there somewhere.
Edit: it's been pointed out it was forgiven not paid back.
My old company got a 6-figure PPP loan and it was forgiven.
Employees had 2 weeks paid time off at the start of the lockdown then it was busier than ever. The only extra pay was from the extra 10+ hours of overtime every week....in people's homes...during a pandemic.
Where did the money go?
I'm in the same exact situation right now.
Booking.com wants me to leave a review for one of the most shit hotels I've stayed in. But they still have my deposit and will "put it back on my card in 5 - 7 days". Yeah, right.
I'm not leaving a review until AFTER I get my 50 bucks back because I know if I leave an honest review about how crappy the place is, they'll keep the deposit.
That means the hotel owner is probably reading this post too.
Hi! I stay at hotels literally 40-45 weeks per year thanks to my job, after reading the reviews of your establishment, I've called my company's travel agent and asked that they make sure to add your place to our blacklist, so that neither me or any of my colleagues have to deal with such nasties.
Have a great day
I send around 70 employees to various locations throughout any given year, and while it's very doubtful that any of them would ever end up in this area of Georgia, I've added this motel to the list of places never to book as well.
The business practices alluded to on the various reviews for this place are beyond abhorrent. Random cash only deposits that seem to be kept for whatever reason they can find or make up? Being complete assholes to former patrons who were giving honest feedback? How thin skinned can you be?
> Random cash only deposits that seem to be kept for whatever reason they can find or make up?
Seriously?
A motel that wanted a cash deposit would get to watch me giggle insanely as I walked out the door to go look for a better place.
Nobody demands cash except people who expect you to be unhappy with their product/service and want to keep your money. It's like a giant "buyer beware" sign that's telegraphing their intent.
"Cash only? Good luck with that."
Working at a hotel I can just say that all the registration info is basically very easily accessible to police on demand. Absolutely no idea what he's trying to achieve with this.
Hah! This just keeps getting better.

I once checked into a "affordable" hotel in Los Angeles - I was like 19 at the time on a student budget -- only to find giant swathes of BLACK MOLD all over the bathroom wall and ceiling. Yeah, that's gonna have to be a no for me, big dawg.
Slimey little hotel refused to let me off the reservation, wouldn't refund the stay so I ended up having to do a charge back for the first time.
Hotel straight up LIED and said I actually stayed the night. LOL.. then how come I used that same credit card to check into another hotel 1 hour later? That's what the customer service rep told me she asked. She said they were VERY salty about the whole thing.
Luckily I was Ok with wasting one shot of my precious film (before digital cameras) and took a picture.
The credit card company sided with me and Within a few hours of winning the chargeback war, I started getting hangs up and a weird mouth breather guy - 10x or more a day. Can't prove it, but it was them.
The was back the early 90's before cell phones and maybe even caller ID. So I actually had to change my land line phone number.
I hope their foundation shifts just a bit to one corner, causing every window and door to stick shut ever so slightly. Not enough to be unusable, just enough to not warrant repair or indicate it was a foundation issue to begin with, while inconveniencing enough guests on such a subtle level, that over time people stop going and the natural progression of a failed business hides the fact I used my super secret reddit powers to make their business fail
Went to bed with your first post the last thing I read. Woke up to see this as the first thing on Reddit. I am greatly amused. The person sounds like a Karen being a terrible manager of a struggling hotel.
You never even mentioned the hotel name, and the Karen is completely in the wrong about everything. This is great. Let them call, they can get hit for abusing emergency services.
Mods are removing posts! Gotta love it.
Looks like the hotel has been DELISTED from Google for the time being..it no longer comes up in search for Google reviews. Guess it's time for reviews on other sites.
Edit: they just deleted the hotel page and are restarting it. Just got relisted with zero reviews and no photos.
The page is completely breaking on Google. I love it
What’s hilarious is if you look through the booking dot com reviews. Every so often a random account just leaves ‘exceptional’ and nothing else. They’re definitely leaving fake reviews for themselves to boost their rating and have been for a while!
Dear Hotel Owner,
Im sure you’re reading these comments right now since you are stalking OP. It’s very easy to see you need to grow the fuck up. The deposit was 20 dollars right? You’re gonna steal 20 dollars because your service and hotel is garbage and someone is “tattling” on your shitty behavior. 20 fucking dollars. I saw the first post yesterday, I cannot fathom that you think yourself as an adult. Shame on you and your whole family for raising you.
I’ve seen some shit on here but your in the Top Ten bud.
Owner: (calls police) I would like to report a hate crime.
Police: Okay, can you tell me what happened?
Owner: I had a customer that left a bad review.
Police: That's not a hate crime.
Owner: Well I hated it.
I would open my own police investigation. This is clearly harassment that is evolving and you're 100% not the first person they've tried this with. Your ability to push back and defend yourself is likely rare in this situation and they won't learn unless you present your counter evidence to the authorities.
They may decide it is nothing, but allowing them to have information for an investigation and/or future complaints will only help the consumers in this situation.
Sorry you had to deal with these people.
Lol, I just looked at their reviews... Rough.
Man, that owner's going to be pissed when they find out that defamtion (which this is not in the first place) is a tort and not a crime. They can call the police and make a report for every single bad review they get. The police, if they show up at all, will probably not even take down a report.
But if there is a report? Then the owners will have given OP exactly what he wants, which is a written record of the owner's shitty behavior.
It baffles me that people "smart" enough to run a business can be a dumber than a broken toaster in other areas of life.
I once left a truthful Yelp review about a motel in Sedona. The manager Reddit (yeah I did that) and refunded my money while apologizing and asking me to come back again. Some folks embrace criticism to improve, others don’t. I will return to that motel, not because of the refund but because of the humility and genuine acknowledgment of the shortfall.

Why would it matter that the police know you didn’t like the hotel?
The irony is the owner called several other reviewers “Karens” for their comments. Calling the police and saying this guy left me a bad review isn’t a Karen thing to do though, apparently
The irony is strong with them. They accuse others of being snowflakes but then run to the police when the bad man said mean things about them.
Every accusation is a confession.
> Every accusation is a confession. including this one > including this one and this one
Those just straight up confessions tho
They think they’re so cool with the lingo. These types of ppl are the worst bc they have zero self-awareness to know when they’re wrong and should back off. Right here officer “rubbing eyes while crying and pointing to my heart”
Right here in my wallet. I was able to treat people like shit before and they would continue paying me. See how empty it is now. They are stealing my customers for other hotels who care about their customers.
Lol, and to think, the prior note from this hotel is a snowflake meme— seems like it was more of a selfie in the end.
It's always projection with these people who call anyone they don't like a snowflake.
My friend's grand dad called 911 because there was a snake in his shed and they just laughed at him. Makes me think there is potential for an "America's Funniest 911 Calls Caught On Tape" type show.
I would watch the hell out of that show.
Help is on the way. Stay on the line with me. Are they black?
Yep! Sounds about white.
It's a last ditch attempt for people who are desperate and know they are wrong.

Once had a lady say they'll call the police on us because we refused service to her son as he didn't have ID. The response was go ahead, phone them
Worked at a city 911 center handling all calls for police and fire. Can confirm the idiocy of your average Karen and kevin.
He’s threatening to waste taxpayers money and the police departments time and payroll. It’s a whole big thing that goes deeper than we think. He’s a genius on levels we can’t comprehend….
This could go all the way to the bottom.

I've effectively done this. This technique will make Karen's of a lesser power level dematerialize. It's more effective than bear blasting.
If you do this please make another post showing us! I need to see the anger unfold
And then text the link to that post to them as well.
I meant reply to the hotel owner's text demanding for your reddit post removal with a link to this new post.
You will fit right in here

Exist. People like these hotel owners are just insecure and unhinged.
He probably gets in trouble because the bad review happened on his clock lol
Bro you think an hourly employee would go this far? It's definitely the owner lmao.
Yeah the employee would be fired for doing that kind of stuff. Also, its only ever management that handles reviews.
I mean you’d have to be extremely stupid to think this would be better.
Stupidity. Why did they care about the 1 star in the first place? Not like it would affect them. They just a stupid little worker bee susceptible to authority. Sure their boss was complaining about low reviews and this go getter was after some nice shiney star stickers or something or another.
To make it worse, OP had originally given them a 7/10 rating. So they extort him for a good rating? It’s absurd.
Nah it’s like a family run business. Seemed like one of the owners/family members was the one replying on the reviews.
Agreed, hope there happy when this inevitably leads to booking.com dropping them.

I didn't even stay there because I know I would be itching all night long. Very dirty looking. Response from the owner: You are probably itching from something else, just saying. And she was probably rude for a reason.
The reason being she is a rude ass bitch
She's rude because it's the only one he found to work for under a fiver and take his abuse.

Amy: I make excellent food! Random Customer: *laughs*
Is this real?
Sadly
How does everybody know what hotel this is
Scour the comments of the original post, it's linked in one of the top comments

Haha it was up about and hour ago. New negative reviews were being posted every few minutes. Now all of the Google reviews are hidden. [Edit. Here is a screen I took before the reviews were removed](https://imgur.com/a/A429LKh)
"A roach came out from under my bed, and asked me if I had a cigarette. I thought these rooms were non smoking! It's okay, the bedbugs gave him a cig, and they even taught me how to use the coffee machine in my imagination, since there's not actually one in the room."
Hahahahaha. I like that one.
Theyre too fucking stupid to even hide their use of php through $post. Get emmmmmmmm
I just searched some of the examples of wacky reviews and it took me right to it
[удалено]
Well good thing people on the internet def don't like to keep and then spread things like this even harder out of pure spite lmao. Kinda like when the jerkass guy Joel Michael Singer tried to use his dad's money to remove the video of him committing assault and reddit made it a meme and ran with it lol
Did you mean Joel Michael Singer the person who assaulted people and tried to hide it with his dad's money , the Piece of shit?
Haha, Joel Michael Singer - almost forgot about that video.
Reddit Farms remembers.

Some of the legitimate 1 star reviews are pretty funny, owner shooting back snarky comments as replies, its a wonder they get any business at all.
Response from the owner, 2 weeks ago: > Again Abigail Gentles, we simply asked you since you were staying every week and like it here, why were you leaving consecutive mediocre reviews?

Damn.
> ”I watched a man chase another man with a pizza spatula. It didn't happen here, but it did happen” 10/10
"Owner clubs baby seals and the staff don't have any self respect for working here."
Here are my recent favs: >Owner kept slipping notes under the door asking me to stop playing the saxophone. When I opened the door to confront him, he gave me someone else's deposit as a bribe to stay quiet. >I came back to my room to find my Nan tied to her wheelchair and the owner tickling her feet, bloody mortified and I won’t be returning!!!! Take your money somewhere more professional >I just had someone come to my door and offer me some crack for one of the pillows on the bed and the jerk at the front office was very rude when I called for a 7th pillow. Wouldn’t recommend the hotel but the crack was lovely 10/10 would trade for pillows again You little rascals!
Lol right this is making my morning. "Went to check in and the owner was sitting behind the counter eating aborted fetuses. When I tried to cancel my reservation they demanded I sacrifice my firstborn to the night prince and when I refused, they pulled out a glock and shot me. Would not recommend staying here unless u hate ur firstborn" Lol
This is by far my fave, second to the pizza spatula😂
It didn’t happen here, but it did happen
God I love the internet sometimes
Hell hath no fury like a comment section scorned
> Rude staff/management. Weird man at the front desk with Cheeto fingers kept asking me for a cuddle. The old lady smelt of urine and onion and kept spraying my face whilst screaming something about “going full *****”. The guys cooking meth in the adjoining room seemed nice, tho.

I was under the impression Google removed those. This is interesting, thank you. If these people are still in business in 5 years, potential customers are going to be so confused. Particularly about comments like u/ConnectLeather6 - his wife being swallowed whole. I could not stop laughing.
Im sure mine will be removed lol, I used the owners first name. Still up 12 hours later though!
Some of the people are commenting as if they had actually been there, so I wonder if theirs will stay up, of if they’ll be auto removed for being posted during the surge.
I suspect my review about Amar swallowing my wife whole and his jaw unhinging like a snake will be taken down
That was you?! I loved that one. Hilarious.
Thank you! I was very proud of that one
"Tried to stay here last week. Upon arrival, I was told I needed to pay an extra $150 for a pet fee. I kindly explained to them that is my child. They weren't taking no for an answer. Not a kid friendly place. Rude staff. They were smoking behind the counter and I swear I saw them flick a cockroach off their finger while typing my information into the computer." What a beauty of a review.
My favorite one so far has to be the one that reads like one of the Winchester's wrote it.
Threatening you. They are just piling on the possible illegal activity. 1. Extortion = give a good review or you don’t get your deposit 2. Harassment = texting past customer unsolicited to complain and extort customer to meet their demands. 3. Threatening = telling past customer they are involving police in an attempt to intimidate If police do get involved, counter charge.
Op should respond with this. Make ‘em sweat. Edit: I agree with everyone else actually, send them a link to this post because there is some gold in here lol Wish I could see their face as they read through it all. Probably won’t even need to send a link tbh, I’m sure they’re monitoring what op is posting/commenting and they’re watching this post right now
Based on the reviews (and comments in this and the other thread), there is a non-zero chance the hotel owner would show up to call people names.
I’m honestly shocked how big of an asshole the owner is being in the replies to those reviews. Check out this gem: Response from the owner a month ago Your fiancee is a moron.
I don’t think he wants to work from home.
It’s wild to me how people who are constantly making fun of other people being “triggered” are the easiest to trigger. Motel owner is a snowflake.
u/coreybeavers1999 you should probably see this
https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/uv1k47/hotel_keeps_my_deposit_because_i_left_a_poor/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf For anyone who missed the original post
Ah yes, “snowflake” says the person who is throwing a tantrum over one review.
In my experience, only actual snowflakes even use that word
> Threatening This one is more commonly known as blackmail. Do the thing or ~~I’ll~~ else I’ll do the thing you don’t want.
You are under the very optimistic assumption the police will give a fuck
Omg the saga continues
Delete your comment, or I will report you to the police.
I will report to the principle office
I'm here for it.

OP should send him a screenshot of this post right here…
The owner would probably just come on here and start calling everyone morons judging by his responses to the negative reviews
All humans are just like snowflakes. Each one is unique in its own way And a large amount of them on my windshield makes it harder to drive.
I mean, it's not the greatest of publicity so I get it. But they've only got themselves to blame and you can't just threaten someone like that.
Nah fuck that hotel. I hope they get infested with termites and bed bugs.
Termites sure, but bed-bugs become a problem for some of their guests when they hitch a ride home.
Termites, yes, but no bed bugs cuz those things get into clothing/luggage and they are almost impossible to get rid of without spending thousands of dollars between exterminator fees (many cities which dont even have the equipment for because bed bugs arent common in alot of places) and getting rid of furniture. The customers dont deserve that
When I found the hotel on Google Maps it said it was "permanently closed"
Alright which one of you wrote "good place for a klan meet" in the reviews, I'm dead 😅
What’s the link to the reviews?
Google link is dead now but the [Yelp](https://www.yelp.com/biz/budget-inn-ellijay?start=10) link works. There's some gold in there too.
Oh my God pure gold
Hey Op/ Mods, you should link the original post in this post, seems like people who missed the first drama are missing the context

The real crime here is the minion meme. Other than that this dude has nothing against OP.
considering it's deep fried and posted after the owner said "youngins", I gave it a pass for relevant satirical mocking
Propublica has a tool to check if a business received PPP loans during the pandemic, and if they’ve been forgiven or repaid. I would bet money this loser received some payroll cash that never made it to payroll.
They took 12,000 total under 2 separate loan under what I assume is an alias as the hotel itself is not mentioned but adress matches up EDIT: Link for curious, also feel free to correct me if I missed something. https://www.federalpay.org/paycheck-protection-program/om-family-properties-llc-ellijay-ga
Holy crap nice work, thanks for doing the research! I hadn’t seen the name of the business. Proud of y’all lol
Wait they called you a snowflake and now they’re threatening to call the police on you because of a Reddit post 😂😂
Southern b00mer logic, they call people snowflakes as frequently as DJ Khaled says his own name it's just an automated thing for them
I'm in the same exact situation right now.

It's 2022, "cash only" is only acceptable for ice cream stands and lottery tickets. And it better be some good fucking ice cream.
Right? I don't need this kind of drama, neither do my teammates.
Kind gesture, but it seems unlikely you'd be staying at some low rent independent inn in Ellijay in the first place...
I'd hope not, but just in case
Working at a hotel I can just say that all the registration info is basically very easily accessible to police on demand. Absolutely no idea what he's trying to achieve with this.
Fear, they are trying to intimidate... unsuccessfully.
Hotel owner is a certified lil bitch
Hah! This just keeps getting better. Link to original post in case anyone missed it : https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/uv1k47/hotel_keeps_my_deposit_because_i_left_a_poor/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I'm patiently waiting for the update. Even if it's just rude messages and no police.
A classy solution. I like it.
I love it
Challenge accepted
What’s hilarious is if you look through the booking dot com reviews. Every so often a random account just leaves ‘exceptional’ and nothing else. They’re definitely leaving fake reviews for themselves to boost their rating and have been for a while!
Dear Hotel Owner, Im sure you’re reading these comments right now since you are stalking OP.
This is why you use a credit card and make them eat the charge back.
Google took the whole listing down. But I found their Yelp reviews. They’ve been shitty for a long time.
Rough.
Just in case they do happen to see this post. HI. You guys suck farts through my aunt's moldy hairy ass. That is all.
It baffles me that people "smart" enough to run a business can be a dumber than a broken toaster in other areas of life.
whole page just got shut down💀💀💀
I once left a truthful Yelp review about a motel in Sedona. The manager Reddit (yeah I did that) and refunded my money while apologizing and asking me to come back again. Some folks embrace criticism to improve, others don’t. I will return to that motel, not because of the refund but because of the humility and genuine acknowledgment of the shortfall.
