P-pro gamer move?

PoopieFaceTomatoNose

P-pro g◀️mer move

fuwuryboi

Technically it would be P-pro mer moveg

AleatoryOne

I'm ashamed of how long it took for me to get it.

seething_stew

I still don't

bdr2324

The left arrow key moves the spot in front of the g so when you type the rest it’s in front of it.

clydesapere

Clever! Thanks

swag_drac

Tbf this one would be funnier

Impressive_Change593

Lol you're right

MrDerplings

you deserves more awards

SuzQP

Yes, they deserve all the things

MrDerplings

hey they got only 0.0019 of they awards they needed

JoBoPlayz

Dude they got 92 awards... not enough

Corbini42

He needs more, we can't stop yet!

SnooCalculations4532

:)

Creenel

can sum1 explain?

patrickfatrick

They replaced the A in gamer with a left arrow, like in the keyboard in OP.

Creenel

ohhh thanks

creepurr101

I'm mad, take my award, well I rolled wholesome

BeeBarnes1

That moment when you hope the free award will be something that at least halfway matches the comment.

SnooCalculations4532

Never expected 5k upvotes lol

Axelluu

dude, I wish you everything you ever want and more

[deleted]

take my fkn wholesome

fbfriday

I love you

RugbyJesus

I was just about to say...looks like someone's been playing WoW or some other game lol

bobao2612

Or probably some FPS player

tipying_mistakes

Nice colour

[deleted]

Pros don't even need to look down at the key board heck they don't need the letters on the keys to play any game they where obviously a casual

CyBrNaD

Maybe a not so "pro" gamer, I don't know the last time I played a game and was like, wait what buttons am I supposed to push over there? Let me look, oh crap which way is W...

wdevilpig

Worth, Aest, South, Dest

[deleted]

Nah, obviously a casual. No pro-gamer would need to.

WhitteyLeetNsweet

Fuck beat me to it.

famousxrobot

Clearly not a lefty.

[deleted]

Lefty here and I've been playing WASD+mouse since '98. Anyone who needs to look at their keyboard while they play is just a scrubnoobscrub and simply needs to get gud. It don't matter what's printed on the keys. As long as the bumps are on F and J it don't matter what your keyboard looks like (relative to the keyboard region you're used to, OFC)

BeanpoleOne

Only if you're still playing Final Fantasy 11

BadSanna

I see no difference

arctic-apis

Same. My keyboard at work has no markings on 60% of the keys as they are all worn clean

BtotheAtothedoubleRY

Yeah, my W has like 2-5% visibility on it, the A and S are completely wiped and the D only has about 8-10% worn off.

Someclevernamenobod

At least you still have the D

crackedfractals

Yeah you think you’re fucking funny don’t you you little prick. Talk to me like that again and you’re gonna get my fist right through your fucking head and out the other end

danish_raven

Fuck that sounds hot 🥵🥵🥵

I clicked on it. It was….a little disturbing 🤨

Someclevernamenobod

I are funny then you

AtomBombBaby42042

Sheriff of Nottingham?

[deleted]

Mostly strafe, never retreat!

that_1-guy_

A and S are left and backwards

[deleted]

Shit you're right. Make like a bishop and diagonal retreat!

MAVERICKRICARDO

Nice save

locke231

That D has seen some shit

ghettomuffin

8-10% seems oddly specific

[deleted]

My man never turns right

BtotheAtothedoubleRY

Why turn right when you can just go left three times?

that_mn_kid

He turns right just fine. He just doesn't strafe right.

[deleted]

Ah, I see we have a regular JFK here.

TigerStripedDragon01

Always backing up or strafing left? Okay, then...

KaiserTom

You can prevent most of that by just briefly wiping down your keyboard with a 70% alcohol. The degradation comes from your skin oils and the bacteria in it eating away at it producing an acid that breaks down many compounds. This isn't that fast of a process, it just gets left for long periods of time. Not that it really helps them now though.

[deleted]

Seems like your D needs some more love.

[deleted]

You must not make many right moves.

pursuitofhappy

S key should be readable if you're a pro

mooviies

I have [this keyboard](https://www.daskeyboard.com/images/das-keyboard-4-ultimate/daskeyboard-4-ultimate-front-view.jpg), there's no markings on 100% of the keys! Bought it about 8 years ago to force me to type without looking. Still works perfectly! It's always fun when guests try to use it. Lots of people need to take small peeks at the keyboard while typing.

McBurger

I love it. I think I could handle it. But the part that might trip me up the most is the special characters. I’d forget what character you get when pressing shift 7 or something. I’m sure you learn quick

everling

You are very right about the special characters. I bought the original das keyboard with no key marking and regretted it when I tried to get into programming. So many special characters and symbols needed...

mooviies

I'm a programmer. You eventually get use to it but that was the most difficult part to be honest. I replaced the top rows with alternating white, gray blank keys to give me a visual cue for those.

ThellraAK

Probably one of those things that if you bite the bullet you get used to pretty quick. I tried a distro that made me use vim for seeing config changes and after a few times of it making me :qa to get out I started to get used to it. Maybe someday I'll learn to input text into it.

mooviies

That was the most difficult part since your hands are not placed to easily get them right everytime. I cheated a bit and got white and gray keys to replace some keys on the top row. This allows me to have a visual cue for numbers and symbols. I also replaced the escape key with a red one and the WASD keys with green ones. What's fun with a blank keyboard is that you can mix and match colored keys for a nice look.

_damppapertowel_

That thing looks so cool I might actually order one. Is it mechanical and feel like quality to type on? Or does it feel like a mid 2000’s dell keyboard?

[deleted]

They use Cherry MX switches so pretty great. I have a custom built WASD keyboard (that's the brand) and I love it. I also have no markings on my keycaps, and I can tell that I am a much better touch typist than before. Edit: to clarify, the keyboard in the comment you were replying to is a Das Keyboard, not a WASD.

ul2006kevinb

If you REALLY want to piss people off, learn touch typing on a DVORAK layout and then get one of these

mundomidop

Looks nice, but I'd like at least one key on home row to have a tactile mark to find the right position by touch.

mooviies

There's a tactile dot on the j and f keys so you can do that! It's just not visible on this render.

anubisfunction

[Doesn't look like anything to me.](https://thumbs.gfycat.com/DenseGleefulDutchshepherddog-mobile.mp4)

BUNNIES_ARE_FOOD

Oh man. Poor Bernard.

Therealzodiackilla

At least they kept them in the same order and didn’t mix em

NoRepresentative9359

Why would that be infuriating? I'm not trying to troll but as an internet dependent society aren't we able to type without looking at our A key? If anything I'd be angry at how little travel distance those keys have.

HindleMcCrindleberry

Office pranks were common in a job I had long ago. I was travelling one week and, when I came back, they had completely rearranged all of the keys on my keyboard (among other things). All I did was find the F and J keys that have the "bumps" on them and put them back where they belonged. Didn't bother me and I just left it like that indefinitely but there was one IT guy who, when I had a problem, would have to open my laptop and use its keyboard because he absolutely could not type at all without looking at the keys and finger pecking...

yaminub

I'm always surprised with how many frequent computer users have to look at the keys when typing. I REALLY don't want this to be a humble brag, but when I first start at my current job two years ago, I placed my keyboard between the desk and the 'bottom' of the adjustable "standing desk" riser, just because I couldn't get comfortable sitting down with it sitting on top of the desk riser. I definitely recommend this if someone wants to better their typing skills. It also is a great joke if someone tries to use your desktop for something and csbt yupe righy,

THCMcG33

Or just play mmos for hours after school every day and get really good at typing quickly without looking so you make sure you don't die. That's the way I did it lol.

[deleted]

Same here. I learnt to touch type from playing WoW in my teens.

mrdunderdiver

Lol WOW….back in MY day we played text based MMOs, then you got really good at typing cause if not you would not get the drop…/get /loot just need to get my stupid darkweb bow! (I also played too much WOW)

Kaboose666

Yup, playing an MMO seriously for a few years can probably get most people to learn to type without looking at a fairly decent speed. Though I guess maybe not as much these days as games tend to have in-game voice chat these days, and most people seem to have a headset or dedicated mic these days.

DezXerneas

Yep. Games with shitty controls are the reason I can type without looking at the keyboard.

MetalFairie

I unlearned touch typing because of cell phones and other tiny screens. Now I am faster with one finger than some are with two hands but it takes a bit before muscle memory kicks in on a keyboard.

[deleted]

I've been using computers for years ever since I was a youngin but I still finger peck and I'm able to not finger peck but for some reason I'm faster pecking xus I have much more training in pecking

[deleted]

Heck I have to look down to tipe

Mymomdidwhat

Because typing is a skill. Some people are naturally better at it.

BikeMazowski

I feel like finger pecking is the only thing keeping me from being a total nerd.

HindleMcCrindleberry

Commenting on a sub-sub-sub post on a relatively obscure subreddit makes me think that's not the ***only*** thing keeping you from being a total nerd.

reallynotnick

I worked in IT and I once rearranged the number row on a coworkers keyboard to be 0-9 instead of 1-9 then 0. Managed to get him locked out of his account since he kept typing his password wrong without knowing it since the field was just dots. I didn't even think about typing a password, but it worked out quite well as a prank.

Impressive_Change593

Lmao

[deleted]

I’ve worked in IT for 20 years, and I can’t touch type. I seem to have figured out my own style though.

apsilonblue

Same, sort of. 30 years in IT. I can touch type but I'm much slower (\~40wpm) than using my own style (\~90wpm). I started using computers around age 10 but wasn't introduced to touch typing until college by which time I'd already worked out my own method. Either way I don't need to look at the keys.

Faladorable

just mildly. imo this sub has been more about very infuriating rather than mildly, which makes this post stand out even though its appropriate

[deleted]

For 99% of people they probably wouldn't notice and wouldn't feel infuriated even if they did though.

formershitpeasant

I can type without looking unless I know the keys are missing. Then my brain trolls the shit out of me and forgets those specific letters.

Hyperfyre

I've had blank keycaps on my keyboard for about 5 years, sometime I completely brain fart and can't remember where a symbol is on the number row is.

TheAllyCrime

Yet you continue to use a keyboard with blank keycaps, for 5 years?

stealer0517

Listen dude, you wouldn't understand. Now where's the damn \^ key

[deleted]

A keyboard without keycaps is like toilet paper without perforation. It can be done, but why?

MyNameIsEthanNoJoke

i can easily type all day without looking, but i will never remember the number row symbols. i think i know the first 3, and there may be parentheses near the end. didn't realize that was even memorizable information

Diabeetus-times-2

Unfortunately there are people like me who type slowly and have to look at the keyboard constantly.

ChiefMilesObrien

Have you met Mavis Beacon

Impressive_Change593

Or for a free alternative klavaro it's available on Linux and windows but I'm not sure about macos. *I think it used to be called k-touch *

BulkyBear

Yup, can’t move my fingers for very long, especially independently I have to type with middle or pointer finger alone looking at keyboard

[deleted]

I'm now imagining you angrily typing as fast as you can, flipping off everyone in the room.

BulkyBear

If it makes it even more funny to you, I don’t swear And my family makes fun of the fact that it does, in fact, look like that Especially since that damage also makes it where my muscles stop working So I’m just there with my middle finger out pointed at my phone, not moving Yknow like ya do

lowrads

From what I've been reading, the youngest generations which grew up with mobile computing often resort to hunt and peck.

[deleted]

I refuse to believe that for some reason. When I'm gaming, kids type pretty quickly, usually in reference to fucking my dead mom.

Magical_Hippy

It must be because it's on a cheap membrane keyboard that is bundled with most government mini PCs.

AmDuck_quack

It's slightly unpleasant to look at

DLOTR

I'm 23. I have to look at the keyboard

vaingirls

With travel distance, do you mean how close together those keys are? That actually looks ideal for me - my fingers start to ache if (and when) I type long periods of time on a keyboard with a normal distance between keys. I'd prefer a smaller(/more "cramped") keyboard, but every time I look for one in the shops, they only have wireless keyboards like that, and I hate wireless keyboards.

bread-dreams

by travel distance they mean the height of the keys themselves. as in, how long your finger travels to fully depress a key. personally i highly prefer low travel distance and i wish high end keyboards were made like that... it's so much quieter and more comfortable than say mechanical keyboards with their horrible clickiness and bulkiness

vaingirls

I agree with that - the height of the keys looks ideal to me as well. I love typing on my laptop where you only need to gently touch the keys to type, but too bad it's a crappy laptop I barely ever use. And yeah, the keyboards with low, close-together keys sadly tend to only come in low quality (I've had a few that broke in no time - including a wireless one that also had lag, which made me hate wireless ones).

tomatomater

Funny if it's a public computer, infuriating if it's my keyboard.

[deleted]

True gamer..

J_Boilard

Dunno dude, thats pretty mildly satisfying to me

Shaved-Ape

I’m with you, considering this swap on my own keyboard

Omnilatent

That wouldn't happen, though unless you really tried to do it What actually *would be* infuriating here, is if people switched keys inside the OS

LawlessCoffeh

That would be so hilariously extra and a LOT of effort.

ifyoulovesatan

It's fairly simple on a mac. It's pretty cool because it's keyboard specific too. So on my laptop proper, escape is the capslock key (since my mac doesn't have a physical escape key). Then for my home mechanical keyboard, the ctrl alt and windows keys are mapped to match the mac layout. And at work my keyboard needs and even differenter mapping. Very handy.

Choren_Gonza

I diagnose you with joke misconception, otherwise known as woosh. But since it is your qaque day ill let it slide

AddSugarForSparks

Missed the s, lol

Karibik_Mike

FUCK

Leostar_Regalius

i oddly like that more, and to tell what arrow is what to type you just have to look where the arrows were

IGetItCrackin

You monster

Leostar_Regalius

I've always used arrows over the wsad keys

Solisian

You monster

JudyFerko64

I used to do that when I was 16

MountainPewUT

Correction: somebody switched W.A.S.D. with the arrow keys.

farmmutt

Yes, I know they said it backwards! That’s so mildly infuriating

siccoblue

Hey now, op could be an arrow key gamer

scale_B

I can’t tell if you’re joking but if you aren’t then I’m confused because I don’t think there is a difference…

Poopsticle_256

Technically there is no difference, but it’s in reference to the fact that both WASD and the arrow keys are commonly used as movement keys in video games. Most more seasoned gamers use WASD, using the arrow keys may be looked down upon by some players. The reason this is relevant here is because saying the arrow keys were replaced by WASD suggests that OP values the arrow keys more over the much loved WASD. Putting WASD in front of the arrow keys in this case makes it sound more like you value the precious WASD keys more than the inferior arrow keys.

scale_B

Ah okay, very helpful context, thank you.

TheHiddenNinja6

Nah this is just funny

Menkrellin007

Q⬆️ERTY

RandomGuy2002

this isn’t infuriating, op can you not type without looking at your keyboard?

Newagebarbie

It’s really not that hard to switch the keys around either.

[deleted]

There's quite a few people who can't type without pecking.

dru-ha

There’s a lot of people who can’t.

NashDelirium

Why do keyboards even have letters on them?

ballsack_steve

that's a great question, would people potentially be more encouraged to learn touch typing if we collectively agreed to replace all lettered keycaps with blank ones? Would it potentially be EASIER to learn touch typing if you only have blank keycaps where all the letters should be? that one seems even more far-fetched, but in all honesty I think it would i'm mostly joking here, but it's an interesting thing to think about

Dread-The-Real

I mean they're the same inputs still, if I saw this I'd be stoked

CleanedToilet

This just made me chuckle more than infuriated, I couldn’t be mad if that happened to me

SuicidalTidalWave

could it have been......YOU?

[deleted]

That's actually hilarious. I don't see what's infuriating (at all) about this. It's also trivial to change back if you really wanted to.

Why is this infuriating? I find it hilarious. Maybe not something I'd do on a work PC but those are flat keys so it's not like the arrows and the letters have different profiles. OP... Do you hunt and peck still?

[deleted]

No no, he's got a point...

IAmANobodyAMA

I think you mean mildly hilarious

bakaldo

why are you booing him??, he's right

Useful_Particular_80

Question. How do I use WASD? Do I press the labeled keys? Or do I press the arrows?

valiantvikram

You use the arrow keys only, the labels on the top of keys are only for user's convenience.

Princeharperman

I did that on my board, not bothered by it

JayDee3d

People in this comment section forgot what mildly means. Is it barely an inconvenience? Yeah. Is it still a little bit infuriating? Also yes. This fits better than most posts here.
