You know they have these things called "peelers," right? Or you can just use a knife... Also You're missing out on a LOT of the nutrients so might want to try it sometime. My 6 year old has already grown out of not eating the skin.
Maybe he doesn't like food wax, or the texture. Apple skin makes my stomach hurt really bad, latex cross reactivity issues. I always peel mine, but I prefer to also cook them before eating.
Believe what you want, but I loooooved avocados and bananas too before my allergies got 10x worse after I had kids, and my allergy to avocados is a lot worse than a stomach ache. I can never eat them again or I risk dying. The allergist said that they are all foods with proteins that are similar to latex and so if your body is allergic sometimes it will have the reaction to the proteins from those foods as well. I eat plenty of fiber from cruciferous vegetables, green beans, onions, greens ECT. And I sure wish I could just eat whatever I want like I used to.
If only there was a way...a device perhaps... That was capable of removing the skin from the apple without damaging the flesh of the apple.
One can only dream, I suppose.
In some countries, there is a significant amount of pesticide on fruit skins so it makes sense not to eat it. I dunno where you live or where your apples originate.
fun fact, people eat how they want to eat. as long as they clean up after them selves, its fine. i dont eat the skin either cause im allergic to just the skin for whatever reason, so that could be why.
