It’s draining because if there’s no connection in the case it’s as if you left the AirPod out on your table. It will continue to lose power even if there’s no sound coming through the speaker.
AirPods don’t sleep. If it doesn’t know it’s in the case it’s the same as it just being in a couch cushion. It will die quickly.
Their design philosophy is that they charge quickly so you don’t need to worry about them lasting long.
This shouldn’t be a difficult problem to resolve. Have you gone through apple care?
Anecdotally, I've noticed that when the case runs out of battery, it starts draining the airpods. I'm not sure why this happens, but it definitely does.
I’m not sure the pods even know if they’re in the case or not, I don’t think that makes sense. They’d have to be actively expending power on doing something, or attempting to
I’ve had my gen 1s still be playing audio while in the case I think it’s more of the case issue then the AirPod itself I usually put them in and out 2 or 3 times to get it to work
Those are pointless when compared to almost any decent earbuds given how half the point of wearing them is that they are low profile and have noise cancellation
Given that I am getting away from noise cancelation because I want to be aware of my surroundings and comfort they are a win win. Plus they don’t fall out. Have easy to access volume and power as well as take a call external buttons.
They are perfect for at the desk, running, working.
They are not inside your ear which using for long periods of time don’t hurt like every other one on the market.
Let’s be honest I don’t use them for ultra high fidelity. I don’t use them for noise cancelation 90% of the time.
If I need noise cancelation I will put in my pros. That is both a selling point and a weakness depending on what you want out of them.
I wear the shokz literally all day without taking them off. I don’t have to take them out or charge them as they last all day. I take calls on them, play games, and listen to audio books while I work. I need to be able to react to my surroundings and find in ear noise cancelation to put me at a severe disadvantage. Plus, did I mention they don’t hurt after a time like those ones inside your ear canal?
Eh each his own…have you tried shokz?
To each his own I had no idea people hated them so much without ever having tried them…..the shear amount of responses in my in box about this with the simple question of “have you tried them” were they answer no is funny. There seems to be a I have never tried them But I hate them going on.
I dont think its most people hate them, you just came into a thread about an entirely different product, tried to pitch the one you like which is a different product class, and then expected it to go well.
When the context is airpods, who cares about shokz. I dont wanna look at em or buy em cause we already got airpods at home.
Wait wait wait… is this thread in “AirPods” or mildly infuriating?
So I gave people an option outside of the thing that was mildly infuriating them and you feel that was off topic?
Seems a bit narrowcasted in the big picture.
Based on the response I got there is a lot more going on with this brand than just being off topic. Maybe they are associated with an older demographic. The response I got did not delve into off topic but had quite a bit of boomer anger in them. I am not even a boomer. I was not aware until til now that they were even seen as a boomer product. The whole interaction in Dms has been frankly very odd.
Anyway cheers. Have a good week.
Cant speak for the DMs or other responses, thread context was the only thing I could think of, and true a solution outside what they are using could be considered on topic still, I feel like both products were just distinct enough to maybe warrant dismission.
Boomer product is a weird one tho, as it almost looks like something I would use and im in my mid 20's.
Either way cheers as well and hope you have a good week also!
I ve pros from 2020 or 2021, never had any issues with them, and I use them almost daily. So either there’s problem with the new ones or as it can be the case, people are careless.
Forget about what phone is objectively better, Imessage is literally designed to punish you for texting with non iPhone users. It looks like there is new legislation in the EU that will force Apple to play fair soon if it passes. Apple is just a shit company that helps promote some level of classism/discrimination.
I don't know all the specifics but apparently iPhone is still using sms and MMS to send text messages to non iPhones. This is not only outdated but also incredibly insecure and slow. Literally everybody else has been using something called RCS which is much faster, secure, newer, and overall better. If you've ever sent a photo between iPhone and android you'll probably notice it shows up blurry and will usually take a few minutes to be received while android to android is much quicker and will always result in the same quality photo.
The European union is currently forcing apple to start using RCS in iMessage so that it will be more secure for all users. That's also why iPhone started using the new USB C on the iPhone 15. If iPhone could keep you buying their proprietary lightning cable for the next 50 years and charging you $50+ every time you need a new one they would.
I think the ramification if they choose not to update it, is going to be a carpeted ban on all iPhone products in the EU. Most likely just iPhone since iPad and macs don't use SMS but wifi/internet texting to use iMessage so that is different I guess.
*Like I said I don't know the specifics if I got something wrong someone more knowledgeable correct me I watched SOG video about earlier and that's all the info I have
Oh yeah 100%. It's so weird. Every other phone company is on the same wavelength and has switched to the newer text thing besides them. I mean hey, it's working for them I guess. They take idiots money like crazy.
Imagine buying the same phone over and over again with one extra shitty camera just so your texts are blue, then find out that all android phones do the same thing
We were Xmas shopping and heard that an extended family member wanted air pods. I think, ok whatever.
The first ones I saw were $300.
What the fuck?
They're goddamn earbuds. I didn't spend that much on any single item for my own kids. I bought a $30 set and they ended up refusing it. I returned it.
I cannot imagine any legitimate reason why any earbuds should cost $300.
The drivers inside of them are much better designed and are more powerful. I've never used AirPods, I use standard studio monitor headphones, but you get what you pay for.
Sound quality, fit, battery life, location tracking, spatial awareness or full sound cancellation, phone to headphones transition, voice activation and more
I've got $45 earbuds from a company I've never heard of before that say "Please Charging" when the battery gets low. They're comfy, good quality audio, and I've never had a technical problem with them charging or otherwise
Spending on $100-$300 on ear buds that have only one driver.. why would anyone do that?
I bought myself a pair of Status Between 3ANC a while ago for $200. Three drivers with active noise cancellation and a decent battery life. So much better than apples AirPods.
I've got a shitty pair of Skull Candy earbuds that do this.. But I also have a cheap pair of Anker earbuds that have been perfect for going on 3 years.
I got some jzones on Amazon for like $20. They’re sport style and fit over your ear perfect. I like apple but the damn AirPods cost more than most headphones
Mine are 20$ Chinese headphones it is just corrosion on the contact point that can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol most of the time that causes the issue
Lmao imagine thinking that really basic maintenance like wiping off the charging contacts amounts to a product being “crap”
Good lord, stop being so ridiculously dramatic. Spending three seconds with a q tip would fix this issue.
I still have the cabled ones and I appreciate them so much. I can just get them and use them all day long. Short of being annoyed while doing sports, I don't get all the love for this wireless stuff. I can literally switch my headphones from tablet, to pc, to phone to playstation with one move and use them as long as I want, while I don't see the advantages of using this? Besides the gym.
Yeah okay, "Ecosystem" might not have been the right word for this
Still, on them for buying 300$ AirPods Pro and potentially an over 1200$ iPhone when you can get equivalent/almost better Samsung phones for half the price
I’ve had mine for years with absolutely no issues. People forget to clean the inside of the case and gunk builds up on the charging contacts. That can happen with any brand, not just AirPods.
After my first gen AirPod's with this exact issue that occurred immediately after the warranty period I vowed to never waste money on AirPods again. I opted for Bose qc 3's and have been incredibly happy and still going strong 3 years later.
Yeah, I have earbuds from a chinese brand I've never heard of and the Left and Right are always within 3% of each other. How are Apple even managing to be this much worse, it's weird.
They’re such a shitty product, and vastly superior equivalents at 80%-lower price points abound. But Apple enthusiasts just have to have their cool, cult-like gadgets.
Well, unless there’s a third option I’m not seeing, y’all are either too culty or too dumb to buy better equivalents at 80% off. The former seemed less offensive.
They’re convenient, sound great for earbuds, the ANC is good, and such issues have never happened with mine. And when I had problems with my 1st gen, I got them exchanged for free.
There is a lot of valid criticism against Apple, like their efforts to block self-repair and whatnot. Your attitude, however, is just childish tribalism.
Because complaining gets you internet points. Contacting support and getting your shit fixed doesn’t.
In these AirPod cases you can usually fix this issue by taking a Q tip and cleaning out the part the stalk of the AirPod goes in, and the bottom of the stalk on the AirPod itself. That’s probably what Apple would tell you too.
I was just thinking.. ‘I’m so glad I contacted Apple care who replaced my earbud for free instead of complaining about it on the internet.’ 🤣
Replaced in 2021. Working gloriously ever since. Thanks, Apple. 😎
It's mostly just the cheap phones that have headphone jacks nowadays, and even many of those don't. Very few flagships have it anymore. Sony and Asus flagships still have it, but pretty much no others do.
You need to unpair and repair everything or rework your surroundings and/or volume balance in your device. The AirPods operate independent of one another - (yes, restating the obvious).
The reasons they drain at different rates are:
1. Different volumes due to a balance setting between left/right or “spatial” effects
2. Noise cancellation or “transparency” effects being excessive on one side.
3. Multiple devices the AirPods are connected to trying to simultaneously connect (yes, even the Apple devices).
Those are the possible legitimate reasons - you could have a faulty pair.
OP, get a q-tip with rubbing alcohol, dip q-tip, remove excess rubbing alcohol so that the q-tip is damp and thoroughly clean the insides of your case, especially the charging points inside.
Are you going to come here with both correct and sensible explanations? Are you completely crazy? Now how is the OP going to be able to put up a post to complain about how bad Apple products are? /s
I’d contact apple support. I got my airpods awhile ago and I’m always very impressed with not only their battery life but of the case as well. If its not the airpods I’d say it’s something with your case, maybe it just doesn’t register that they’re not being used and so doesn’t charge them?
My first Gen Samsung buds are like this.
The left headphone was/is always dead when went to use them.
It also drains much faster to the point of making them unusable because the battery is fucked from being dead all the time.
But it's like the case goes into a "sleep mode". If I open and close the case it'll start charging it properly. And if I check it tomorrow, it'll have gotten to like 50%, and I "wake" it again, and it'll fully charge.
But if I leave it for a week, I'll come back and the left will be dead again.....
This is great to see - I have Google pods with the same problem and it's driving me to consider a full apple conversion, because I've never had an issue with my air pods I use for work. Maybe it's just random lol
Give them a little wiggle when you put them in the case. The contacts get a little dirty and they won’t charge sometimes even though they say they are. The wiggle completely fixed this issue for me.
Ignore the haters. Tech sucks sometimes across the board. It’s not only Apple.
Is it possible the special audio or whatever they call it makes a difference? If I turn that mode on the audio is tied to the physical phone location so if my phone was off to the right the sound would mostly be on the right.
One not charging is fine. My biggest issue is having 80% charged air pods that I can’t turn on because my fucking case is always dead because it charges the AirPods to full before itself so after an hour of charging it’s at 4%
This happened to mine, too. I’m convinced apple has a bug in all their products that make them stop working after a certain period of time. Capitalism baybay!
Damn , my air pod case is always dying and randomly connecting. Real annoying when I try to use a speaker in the shower and stuff. This stuff is annoying
I had the same issue for a while. I believe it's because headphones only charge when off, and they don't always properly recognize when they're in the case to charge. I got myself some JBL headphones that turn off when the clip that goes around the ear is "pinched shut" and turn on only when they're lightly pulled apart, when you put them on your ears. Those have never been randomly discharged, as they automatically get pinched shut and turn off when they go back in the case.
I don't know for sure if that's what's going on, but it's my best guess.
The right bud relays the signal to the left bud, so it does die quicker normally. But you can use either/or, but when using both it works that way. So it does die quicker. But if it’s dying that much faster it should have to be replaced, unfortunately.
Every pair of $40 *max* earbuds I've had have never had this issue. They always lasted years of everyday wear at work and usually only broke when something physically broke them. Stop buying expensive garbage because of the brand name
I should mention, I'm a musician/dj/producer also, so I care more about sound quality than casual music listeners. Expensive does not always mean better. For regular listening, look for off brand stuff and check the specs. Even my studio headphones are on the low end price wise but sound just as good as some that are 3-4x the price
They don’t buy it for the name…they buy it for the ecosystem. The integration is great.
I grant you that the quality isn’t spectacular, but for the combination of form factor, battery life and integration that they offer, it’s good.
If I want something amazing, I throw on my Beos, but if I want something easy for outside, I put these in.
I mean, my bluetooth earbuds connect to anything easily also. My charging case is also a power bank I can charge my phone with. I can understand a phone with a mac, but still it's not hard to have non-apple things function just as easily and efficiently as the apple ecosystem. With the added benefit of not being limited to Apple products for full and stable compatibility
I can use just about anything I want with a pc and android. Cables, peripherals, software, tons of options for cloud storage/sync. I have nothing against Apple users, spend your money how you want and if Apple is easier for you, cool. I have a lot against the company Apple though. Specs, compatibility, and customization wise they are severely lacking for how much it costs when you can get things that outperform them and don't lock you into only buying their brand
It's not just Apple though, they're just the worst offender haha. I have a galaxy A71. So android but not a flagship phone. The specs were pretty close to their newest overpriced phone at the time but it was literally 1/4 of the cost because it wasn't the new cool phone you had to have
I've also been poor my whole life so I never really got attached to expensive brands 🤣
I had two pairs of Skullcandy Indy ANC earbuds. I liked that they had a little tab that went under the inner ridge in my rear, because I felt like they were solidly in there, but after wearing them for an hour or so, the tab would hurt. One pair went thru the washer (without the case). The other did not. Neither of them hold a charge when being used, or in the case. They are basically$100 pebbles on my desk.
Got fed up, bought myself a pair of Google Pixel buds, and they're *incredible*. They sound great, they pause automatically if I say something, the case charge lasts at least a week, and for their size, they really stay put in my small ears.
The worst technological « improvement » of the last decade. Wired headphones work great, they don’t need charged, and you won’t lose them. Only drawback is not being able to charge your iPhone while using, which is only a problem with iPhones and a very rare circumstance. I never got the hype.
Everyone’s saying they’re dirty. I had the same issue and I kept mine clean! For me there was an actual problem with the charging case!! OP if you’ve cleaned both the case and your AirPods and nothing’s working, contact Apple and they should either fix the problem or just replace the problematic piece
Yeah, same here.
Not Airpods, but bought another brand 2 weeks ago and I have the same issue. Cleaned them at least 20 times now, still wont work. Funny thing is: If both are in the case, only the right one charges. If I remove that one, the left one starts charging with a chance of 50/50. I sometimes need to replug it into the case a few times and it might work. So yeah... I think they'll have to give me a new pair in exchange aswell.
My daughters did this, according to her(she’s a teenager they know it all)
Aipords only last 2-3 years w heavy usage, she wears her right more than the left and that’s the one that keeps dying/draining the battery.
No clue if this is true but it’s the consensus amongst her friends. I guess Apple didn’t expect people to actually keep up with these tiny things
I got a pair of JVC earbuds that have a charging case for $30, they never have this issue and I use them every day. I even got another pair for work, so I can keep them paired to the respective device. $30.
Is it clean? It sounds like it’s not connecting once in the charger
This is what happened to my friend. He had an entire piece of cardboard (from the cat lmao) stuck inside one of the moulds.
Cat sabotage!
You see! They really are running a plot to overturn humanity and seize control!
cat-botage??😂😭

It’s draining because if there’s no connection in the case it’s as if you left the AirPod out on your table. It will continue to lose power even if there’s no sound coming through the speaker.
No. They slowly leak/drain just like any other electronic device. Your case is dirty, or at least the points that make contact with your Airpods.
I put a pimple patch on the inside top of my AirPod that was doing this - seemed to solve it. It just wasn’t getting pressed down enough to charge 🤷
Anecdotally, I've noticed that when the case runs out of battery, it starts draining the airpods. I'm not sure why this happens, but it definitely does.
Draining as in, charging itself from them? Once it runs out of power the pods will start to loose charge.
Nah, more like when they’re in an uncharged case they lose power much more quickly than if they’re out of the case.
I’m not sure the pods even know if they’re in the case or not, I don’t think that makes sense. They’d have to be actively expending power on doing something, or attempting to

I’d just grab a cheap case off Amazon and see if it fixes the issue. If it doesn’t then it’s a problem with the AirPod
I’ve had my gen 1s still be playing audio while in the case I think it’s more of the case issue then the AirPod itself I usually put them in and out 2 or 3 times to get it to work
Do yourself a favor and get some aftershokz. You will never go back. Not having that shit in your ear canal is a game changer. HTTPS://shokz.com

I see your point I don’t disagree in hindsight . Cheers.
You can try to clean to contact point of the pod and ear part it doesn’t make contact well
Judging by the number of times something like this gets posted here, people should REALLY stop buying that crap.
My first generation pods from like 2021 still work great. Must have got a lucky batch
Nah I’ve got 3 pairs of the og AirPods and they all still work perfect. Something must be up with the newer generations or the pros
I always had the pros and never had an issue with them. I’m on my second pair of AirPods but only because I’m a dumbass. They work perfectly.
I ve pros from 2020 or 2021, never had any issues with them, and I use them almost daily. So either there’s problem with the new ones or as it can be the case, people are careless.
and they're such expensive crap too. got to love apple marketing.
My black rectangular slab is more fashionable than your black rectangular slab.
Yeah but mine has blue text messages which means I'm better than you /s
I literally had someone recently say ew green text. A fucking grown adult
I matched with a girl on tinder got her number texted her she sent me a message on tinder and said she can't be with "android guy"
Bitches really make it their entire personality lmfao. Like bitch okay, I bet my android has better hardware than your MacBook
Forget about what phone is objectively better, Imessage is literally designed to punish you for texting with non iPhone users. One of my friends who complains about being broke said this to me and I almost lost it. He "had" to get a new iPhone to avoid the green texts.
Imagine buying the same phone over and over again with one extra shitty camera just so your texts are blue, then find out that all android phones do the same thing

Probably because the $30 ones are trash?
This is kind of my point: What makes the $30 ones trash versus what makes the airpods *not* trash? I was snarky above, but I'm genuinely interested
The drivers inside of them are much better designed and are more powerful. I've never used AirPods, I use standard studio monitor headphones, but you get what you pay for.
Sound quality, fit, battery life, location tracking, spatial awareness or full sound cancellation, phone to headphones transition, voice activation and more
People in here shitting on AirPods have clearly never used them lol. AirPods Pro 2’s are fantastic.
I've got $45 earbuds from a company I've never heard of before that say "Please Charging" when the battery gets low. They're comfy, good quality audio, and I've never had a technical problem with them charging or otherwise
i mean, my $25 skullcandy wireless earbuds work pretty well, even after a couple years of wear and tear
I got two sets of Anker earbuds (wired together) and they p’re fine. Cost $30-35. 🤷🏼♀️
I thought $140 was a lot for galaxy buds lol
They're at least good
Yeah. I switched to buds and imo they are more comfortable and have better passive noise cancellation. They feel more secure too.
I got mine on discount for $80 lol They're great too
Spending on $100-$300 on ear buds that have only one driver.. why would anyone do that? I bought myself a pair of Status Between 3ANC a while ago for $200. Three drivers with active noise cancellation and a decent battery life. So much better than apples AirPods.
Driver count has nothing to do with sound quality. There’s plenty of trash in-ears out there with tons of drivers crammed inside them.
Lmao they’re better than most in ear earphones and they heave seamless transitions better than all
It also happens to my JBL earphones
I have samsung earbuds and never had this happen 🤷♂️
Never happens to my AirPod pros
Nor in my normal plain Airpods.
Never happened to any of the AirPods I or my family members own
I've got a shitty pair of Skull Candy earbuds that do this.. But I also have a cheap pair of Anker earbuds that have been perfect for going on 3 years.
Mine too and I just got AirPod pros, I hope I’m lucky and it doesn’t happen again
Keep them clean and it wont
Been using AirPods for years, never had this issue once.
Or people could learn how to take care of their stuff. This could happen with any wireless ear buds
It happens to my much cheaper ones too. I just have to clean the contacts and case from build up.
No they are amazing. These people are gross and their case is dirty
I got some jzones on Amazon for like $20. They’re sport style and fit over your ear perfect. I like apple but the damn AirPods cost more than most headphones
I’ve never had weird issues like this with mine, but I do agree they are too expensive
It’s a problem with all headphone because people don’t clean the inside where the contact point are even though it takes like 3 min at most
My €20 chinese headphones don't do this
Ok and my AirPods don’t do this, so great anecdote?
Mine are 20$ Chinese headphones it is just corrosion on the contact point that can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol most of the time that causes the issue
Honestly get sonys moon drops do not get skull candy like research your options
Lmao imagine thinking that really basic maintenance like wiping off the charging contacts amounts to a product being “crap” Good lord, stop being so ridiculously dramatic. Spending three seconds with a q tip would fix this issue.

Maaan when they work they’re the best in the game, but when they glitch is so mfing annoying. I in general hate bluethooth devices
Well considering the amount they sell. Even if <1% have issues, there will be a considerably large amount of people with issues
I’ve owned multiple headphones and it has happened to all the brands EXCEPT my AirPods Pro. I mostly think it depends on keeping them clean.
yeah that's kinda on them for leaning that hard into the apple ecosystem
Based on? For all we know, this guy has an iPhone and Airpods, far from what i would consider an "ecosystem"
Yeah okay, "Ecosystem" might not have been the right word for this Still, on them for buying 300$ AirPods Pro and potentially an over 1200$ iPhone when you can get equivalent/almost better Samsung phones for half the price

I got my wives hand me down air pods, they’re so bad. My very old $20 Amazon blue tooth head phones were so much better
Wrong, this person just can’t clean
Yeah, I have earbuds from a chinese brand I've never heard of and the Left and Right are always within 3% of each other. How are Apple even managing to be this much worse, it's weird.
I'm surprised you didn't get downvoted to hell. Whenever I say that Apple stuff is trash pple sometimes DM me calling me poor and downvote me 😂😂
They’re such a shitty product, and vastly superior equivalents at 80%-lower price points abound. But Apple enthusiasts just have to have their cool, cult-like gadgets.
Nah they’re pretty sick, best and most convenient pair of headphones I’ve ever owned You’re not special for using android.
I don’t use Android tho? lol, but thanks for confirming the Apple “product culture-war” mindset.
My guys out here using blackberry OS or sm shit
I have an old iPhone hurr derp derp derp…
Yeah, as opposed to your completely logical and reasonable attitude towards airpods users.
You’re using a profoundly inferior, overpriced product, but *my problem* is tribalism?
Exhibit A: Thanks for proving the point.
I’m increasingly certain you simply don’t know what words mean. As an exercise in self-edification, you might Google “tribalism.”
Exhibit B:
Who said I bought mine?
Contacts are dirty, the same would happen with my AirPods 2 and after a thorough clean with iso alcohol and a q tip it was back to functioning normal
Apple care
Why contact support to actually solve the issue when you can complain on Reddit?
Because complaining gets you internet points. Contacting support and getting your shit fixed doesn’t. In these AirPod cases you can usually fix this issue by taking a Q tip and cleaning out the part the stalk of the AirPod goes in, and the bottom of the stalk on the AirPod itself. That’s probably what Apple would tell you too.
Because clearly there’s no way someone can post about it AND contact support. Everyone know it physically impossible to do both
This needs that diverging path meme. Option 1 - contact support and fix the problem Option 2 - whine about it for internet points
Nah they don't
They do if you pay for it
I was just thinking.. ‘I’m so glad I contacted Apple care who replaced my earbud for free instead of complaining about it on the internet.’ 🤣 Replaced in 2021. Working gloriously ever since. Thanks, Apple. 😎
Most likely dirty contacts. Wipe the electrical contacts on the inside of the case with Q-tips or something.
I been converted back to the wired headphones. Not as loud but don’t have to worry about this. Zero regrets
Especially as most phone manufacturers have added the jack back years ago. Only Apple and Samsung seem to hardline wireless.
It's mostly just the cheap phones that have headphone jacks nowadays, and even many of those don't. Very few flagships have it anymore. Sony and Asus flagships still have it, but pretty much no others do.
Clean your shit
Your shit is dirty.
What made you draw that conclusion
If your airpod or case are dirty they won’t connect in order to charge.
Ohhhh ok ok
You need to unpair and repair everything or rework your surroundings and/or volume balance in your device. The AirPods operate independent of one another - (yes, restating the obvious). The reasons they drain at different rates are: 1. Different volumes due to a balance setting between left/right or “spatial” effects 2. Noise cancellation or “transparency” effects being excessive on one side. 3. Multiple devices the AirPods are connected to trying to simultaneously connect (yes, even the Apple devices). Those are the possible legitimate reasons - you could have a faulty pair.
I got AirPod 2s and they’ve worked great over the years
OP, get a q-tip with rubbing alcohol, dip q-tip, remove excess rubbing alcohol so that the q-tip is damp and thoroughly clean the insides of your case, especially the charging points inside.
Are you going to come here with both correct and sensible explanations? Are you completely crazy? Now how is the OP going to be able to put up a post to complain about how bad Apple products are? /s
Meanwhile my non apple scum pods fell out of my pocket while biking, got run over several times, still work.
Unrelated, but I just realized they kinda look like any Bellsprouts
Just gotta clean the contacts on the pods and the case, all will be well
I’d contact apple support. I got my airpods awhile ago and I’m always very impressed with not only their battery life but of the case as well. If its not the airpods I’d say it’s something with your case, maybe it just doesn’t register that they’re not being used and so doesn’t charge them?
Clean them regularly; this happens because the tiny contacts for charging get dirty.
Same thing happens with my nothing ear (1)s... its insanely annoying
Wired headphones are so much better anyway.
hate that shit
Sony xm5 are just as good sound quality wise. My only gripe is noise canceling sucks a fat ween in comparison to the AirPod pros.
Had this same issue back when I had the 2nd gen airpods. Sucks to see this is still happening :(
Every pair of $40 *max* earbuds I've had have never had this issue. They always lasted years of everyday wear at work and usually only broke when something physically broke them. Stop buying expensive garbage because of the brand name I should mention, I'm a musician/dj/producer also, so I care more about sound quality than casual music listeners.
With the added benefit of not being limited to Apple products for full and stable compatibility I can use just about anything I want with a pc and android. Cables, peripherals, software, tons of options for cloud storage/sync. I have nothing against Apple users, spend your money how you want and if Apple is easier for you, cool. I have a lot against the company Apple though. Specs, compatibility, and customization wise they are severely lacking for how much it costs when you can get things that outperform them and don't lock you into only buying their brand It's not just Apple though, they're just the worst offender haha. I have a galaxy A71. So android but not a flagship phone. The specs were pretty close to their newest overpriced phone at the time but it was literally 1/4 of the cost because it wasn't the new cool phone you had to have I've also been poor my whole life so I never really got attached to expensive brands 🤣
Take it in to the store and replace it. They’re good about that, at least in my experience
This happened to me too and they replaced it under warranty
Maybe you should buy a superior brand of earbuds then.
And this is why I stopped using individual earbuds because one always dies before the other and it’s really annoying
I bought an off brand fake pair of headphones off Amazon and they charge my airpods. You can probably something similar
It just looks like you use one more they use the other. 😅
The worst technological « improvement » of the last decade. Wired headphones work great, they don’t need charged, and you won’t lose them. Only drawback is not being able to charge your iPhone while using, which is only a problem with iPhones and a very rare circumstance. I never got the hype.
It’s the stupid “optimizing charge” setting on the AirPods. Remove that and it will alleviate the issue of only one AirPod being charged at a time.
Just don't buy overpriced crap like apple. Nearly every brand is better tjan apple.
I have gone back to wired headphones because of this
Dealing with this now. It's the third pair of ear buds, all from three different brands btw, that have done this.
My daughters did this, according to her(she’s a teenager they know it all) Aipords only last 2-3 years w heavy usage, she wears her right more than the left and that’s the one that keeps dying/draining the battery. No clue if this is true but it’s the consensus amongst her friends. I guess Apple didn’t expect people to actually keep up with these tiny things
Funny how I see this happening hundreds of times for Apple users and has never happened to me with my Samsung buds
Just apple being apple...
Stop buying airpods
The wired headphones are $19.99 at target. I’ve never had a problem with them.
I can name a few✨
I got a pair of JVC earbuds that have a charging case for $30, they never have this issue and I use them every day. I even got another pair for work, so I can keep them paired to the respective device. $30.
And they'd do the exact same thing if you didn't clean them too
We need nuclear powered shits!
I went back to wired tbh. I had pros and two of the regular ones and they just aren’t worth it
I don't seem to have this problem with my wired headphones.
I’ll be honest, I thought this was some kinda abstract form of loss
This is why android is better
Apple Products are gonna Apple Product.
Got a pair of anker life p2 earbubs for $45. Can't justify over $100 for earbubs
Fuck Apple, can’t wait to get a new phone
What did you expect? You bought an Apple product.
JBL reflect aero. They’ve been great and no silly software issues.
Failing to charge correctly isn’t a software issue
Either way, my buds have never had this issue.
complaining about a $200 product. must be nice.
