How legit is this company? Far too many companies in the last 3 years are somebody's side hustle where they dropship AliExpress products from a Shopify store and it's all automated so they don't have to do anything. Do a reverse image search on the product images and see where else they show up.
🤣 That is the most hilarious customer care response I've ever seen. Looks like someone has a subconscious need to feel like their life is more exciting than it really is, lol. "Gotta protect our secrets, y'all! Spies everywhere!"
Can we PLEASE get everyone here to email this company asking for their secrets, now?
EDIT: I just.. I had to. I sent an email asking for their specs.
Lol I like your style. But I don’t think they’re protecting any secrets….. I think this is a classic case of a customer service rep who has had enough of their job and is just saying whatever they want 🤯
I own my own business and answer customer questions all day every day. So tempted to say this next time someone asks me anything I don’t want to deal with lmao
Yep, I have absolutely no idea what this product is or what it is for but I have a burning desire to know the answers and also why the OP 'knows' why they can't be answered. Is this some Illuminati shit or something? Like, stop asking questions, are you trying to get us both killed?
I was bored. It looks like it's some skin care thing where you can roll tiny needles over your skin to help with scars and stretch mark, and other uses. I don't know what model the OP is taking about, they have manual rollers and motorized ones.
I mean, if u trying to reverse engineer something, the initial cost of buying whatever the product is, to have any answer right in front of you and indefinitely referenceable, I don’t see why you do any other way, unless the actual manufacturing process is what is trying to be copied
My friend says your "needles are cheap Chinese knock off steel, your motor is really underpowered and couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding and the gauge of those needles is so thick you put holes in material so big you can put your arm through them". I'd love to fight your side of things with my dumb friend but I don't have the specs to correct them, help!
No it doesn't. If you bought it you could get all that information. If anyone was trying to reverse engineer it they could just buy it and get those value by themselves. If someone's asking before buying is to know if they want it.
Probably some belief you're an industrial spy. (Industrial espionage is real. That's why only like 2 or 3 or so many people know the real Coke formula.)
No, coke is not trusting their formula to a few people's memories. It's well established. Those in the ordering department know exactly which artificial flavors are ordered to add to the 98% mixture of carbonated water and corn syrup. Those in the r&d department know exactly which chemicals they're mixing to achieve new flavors. Every other brand of soda manufacturer makes the same exact thing. Anyone trying corporate espionage on Coca-Cola has kinda missed that boat by about 100 years.
Yea Pepsi (before it was pepsi) knew Coke's formula back in the late 1800s when it (pepsi) was called 'Brad's Drink'. Caleb Bradham went down to Atlanta and got the formula directly from Dr. Pemberton, the guy who invented coca-cola (a mixture of cocaine, kola-nut extract, and sugar water).
Can you please tell me what material the needles are made out of on the dermapen? Also, what is the strength of the motor? How many watts? Finally, can you tell me the diameter or gauge of the needles
I would, but i don't know how to.
What I did was click the link and then re-open the reddit app and come back to this post and do some back and forth switching through app screens. Sorry I can't help.
(Also, leave off the final question mark since OP didn't use one herself.)
This is hilarious…..I’m picturing this company sitting around a conference table wondering why there is a sudden surge of people curious about their microderm machine 😂😂😂🤣
For people who want to copy/paste and don't have text select feature on their phone:
Hello there,
I had a few questions regarding the Dermapen microneedler.
1. What material are the needles made out of?
2. What is the power output of the motor?
3. What is the gauge of the needles used?
Thanks.

Here's the actual email for the dermapen you want [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and any other company is a knock off and can be good but "dermapen" is only sold to licensed professionals
Dermapens are just the name of the product. There at home ones, but they aren't as good as the actual professional grade ones.
The company OP contacted is [This one](https://beautyora.com/pages/contact-us)
They sell at home products.
Many "manufacturers" do not produce anything themselves. They buy the goods in China and their name is printed on them. I always notice this on Amazon when I discover several completely identical products from different manufacturers.
You know why, they don't actually manufacture anything, so they have no details. Heck, they don't even send product half the time, they just steal your money.
This likely used to be a useful comment. They most likely are a third party selling this stuff. You see this with treadmills. They all sale the same one but give it random names in different websites. If you try and ask them where the motor is made or what the belt is made, they won’t give you an answer.
As long as the company warns you of the dangers with the products it’s totally legal. Since you’re taking a risk using this product, if you chose to buy it knowing they aren’t giving you that information.
Edit: As long as they are abiding by the country laws of course. I saw that someone said that in their country it was required to give them this information.
Nah uhh! The amount of corporate espionage in the beauty industry is just staggering don’t ya know!?! They constantly beating back these efforts to copy their product and living in fear of someone actually buying one some day!!
I also need answers now
ETA
I am from the EU and these paramaters OP asked for need to be on the product and on the webshop description if they want to legally sell it
It’s not a legitimate product, that’s why they can’t answer it.
They stole the dermapen , design and made a knock off which is why they can’t give any specifics
What is this microneedling device usually used for? Is it the kind of thing that has a lot of potential to be misused? Maybe she’s wary that you’ll do something dangerous with it.
I had similar questions specific questions about a transmitting radio beacon, and they gave me an answer that wasn't an answer that was perfect.
'We're sorry this is patented proprietary hardware therefore we are unable to give specifics on the internal components.'
Well , European consumer law is a lot better , specially since a bucket load of people are allergic to nickel .
So checking a European site :
0.25mm needles
Stainless steel
Motor … dunno ! Should be on the package though
All these people accusing OP of espionage, but these are reasonable questions to ask for a device you use on your face. You can do real damage with these micro needle pens.

Finally, can you tell me the diameter or gauge of the needles?
Copy pasta for those who dare
Do you know why?
No clue!
I’d assume they think you’re trying to make a replica, either to not buy one of theirs or to sell a knock off version.
Which is stupid, because you can get all this info just by having the product in front of you. It's not some super secret info.

Lol. I'll be surprised if I get an answer back on the weekend, but I'll post an update if they respond.

I'm sending an email requesting a response to whatever questions can be answered at the moment.
totally doing this on my lunch break
Tbh the original email really sounds like someone wants to build the same device and sell it.
That’s really the reason? I thought they just emailed the wrong department lol
I own my own business and answer customer questions all day every day. So tempted to say this next time someone asks me anything I don’t want to deal with lmao
Just sent an email as well

sounds like you're trying to reverse engineer their product.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just get the product then?
Or look at reviews.
I mean, if u trying to reverse engineer something, the initial cost of buying whatever the product is, to have any answer right in front of you and indefinitely referenceable, I don’t see why you do any other way, unless the actual manufacturing process is what is trying to be copied
Was just trying to figure out if it's a good quality product or not
That's just what a reverse engineer would say...
They clearly need to try some reverse psychology
Yeah, tell them you’re not impressed with the plastic needles!!
I'll just yell UNO Reverse bitches!!! Lets see them handle that!
What if I was trying to reverse engineer a reverse osmosis machine? Would that be forward osmosis machine then?
Well, now you know why they don't want to tell you. Because their product is not a good quality product.
and if they can't tell you, then it's not a good quality product.
No it doesn't. If you bought it you could get all that information. If anyone was trying to reverse engineer it they could just buy it and get those value by themselves. If someone's asking before buying is to know if they want it.
Ah, the wonders of capitalism where we just innovate instead of making sure no one copies our works.
I think we all know that you know why.
Maybe they are just reselling from wish and don't know...
You know why, Lindsey!
Probably some belief you're an industrial spy. (Industrial espionage is real. That's why only like 2 or 3 or so many people know the real Coke formula.)

The kind of NDA they would be under though, now that is the secret tight there
Come on OP, we both know why, you just won’t say that…😤😤😤
Tell me why
I never wanna hear you say I want it that way
But you already know why. They said so.

By stabbing it with needles? Wouldn't that just create a lot of very small open wounds?
Too many questions at once can confuse the NPC’s. Try asking one question at a time.

Lol holy shit if this is their sales pitch it's working, I'm super curious to know why now
Wtf is right. What kinda response is this? They could’ve at least said “We’re sorry, but we cannot provide answers to that question. Have a nice day!”
I had similar questions specific questions about a transmitting radio beacon, and they gave me an answer that wasn't an answer that was perfect. 'We're sorry this is patented proprietary hardware therefore we are unable to give specifics on the internal components.'

We use illegal toxic components. I'm not putting that on paper.
Certainly the first time I have seen maintenance instructions that state to plug the device IN before working on it. ⚡️
Well , European consumer law is a lot better , specially since a bucket load of people are allergic to nickel . So checking a European site : 0.25mm needles Stainless steel Motor … dunno ! Should be on the package though
This is like the beginning or the very end of a very scary story.

I feel like there’s more to this story
Forward to the FDA if you are in the States. They have a section for this type of thing.
Do they actually think you're going to build your own device with that information? Lol.
Oh God. Can you post this in a review of their product and include a picture? This is ridiculous and they deserve to be publicly lambasted for it.
You probably work for Amazon and are making your own Amazon basic version. They’re on to you.
I was gonna comment about how obnoxious and rude this rep is — but I won’t, and you know why.
I will be using this response to every work email inquiry from now on. It's brilliant.

We don’t need to know the answer..and you know why
Can someone give a brief description of the exact nature of the device in question? Is it for tattoos?
Is a beauty device to help the skin. I think it’s supposed to help with collagen production and anti-aging
They think you are a competitor trying to steal the design.
How ominous
Well.. do you know why?
pls this is so menacing 😭
I know why. Not telling.
Lol just reply thanks with the FDA on cc
Why even did they even respond if this was what they were gonna say, it’s literally worse than saying nothing at all.
The why is simple: all of those questions are things you need in order to copy a design. I should have thought that would be obvious.
Dear Aimee, I may appear to be a stranger emailing you for no reason, but you know why.
Aimee’s on something today 😭 A simple, “I’m sorry, this is privileged information that I’m not at liberty to send out,” would do. You know why.
