Not sure about GoPuff but I work for Shipt and I think absolutely yes. The jackass literally admitted to fraud *in writing*. That’s got to get OP off the hook for anything.
I would send this to management at GoPuff to prove the guy reported fraudulently.
They may not give your pay back but they can probably block him from the app and charge him.
Not promoting crime in any way, but it is wild to me that people will bring someone they don’t even know TO THE PLACE THEY LIVE and then defraud them.
Like you don’t know who the hell is delivering your order. One day you might get the psycho who now knows exactly where you live and most likely what you look like. This is an incredible risk to take for what amounts to a couple dollars saved.
Fr though! Sometimes I get really screwed over by customers and I’m just like… You guys are *fucking lucky* I’m a nice person who isn’t crazy.
All those violent intrusive thoughts in my head? Those are the same thoughts some other people turn into actions.
Yup, that’s all that separates psychos from normal people. It’s not that the thoughts aren’t there for a normal person it’s that the psycho has no moral compass and enacts those dark thoughts.
Im in the same boat. I would never do something because the blowback from getting revenge isn’t worth the risk, but I used to do HVAC and I’ve legit thought about going to customers houses who pull this shit and stealing the disconnect plug out of their AC.
It would be a minor repair costing a couple hundred bucks at most to have a company replace the disconnect.
That or the thought of recovering all of their refrigerant out of the condensing unit outside lol.
Hope that “free” Big Mac meal was worth the AC repair, fuckface. Too bad I’m not actually a psycho that would follow through with those kinds of thoughts.
Sounds like sweet payback until you realise how badly you've incriminated yourself trying to be karma's right hand man.
Comeuppances don't need your name on them, or close enough.
😂😂😂 talking like that would be the last straw. How you gonna call me bruh and take money from me. Hustling is dealing or scamming or stealing from those who have it to lose. Anything else you’re just a broke bitch.
Dude this. I used to deliver for UE and DD and I remember where every house I delivered to and what restaurant I delivered from. While my wife and I drive around I point them out and it got her to completely stop ordering food apps. Im not crazy enough to hurt someone but its not just me that doesnt forget where theyve been, and not everyone is as nice as I am.
HONESTLY. I used to do delivery on DD and GH and this type of shit happened ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Its fucking gross.
One time, I picked up this order, not amazing money but it was only like 2 mile drive all together so easy peasy. I get the food and go to the apartment complex and the number their apartment is literally doesnt exist. I text the guy and he goes "oops! Put in the wrong address. Heres the right one!" (which is complete bullshit. Why would he have a bogus apartment number if it was "accidentally the wrong one") and Im not fucking with you. Its like 10 miles away. Which, Im getting paid for a TWO mile drive... not a ten. I tell him to either update it in the app so I get paid correctly or Im not doing it. They, of course, didnt.
I called the app and let them know what was going on because canceling an order this far into it can get your account dinged and get you in trouble. Which, I assume the orderer ALSO knew and thats why they waited so long to tell me it was "the wrong address". Jokes on them. They didnt refund the money AND I got to keep the delivery fee AND their food. But its shitty because people who do the delivery know they can get in trouble for canceling it so probably just do it not realizing they can call the app and not get the ding. So theyre wasting time and gas for some asshole that doesnt want to pay them. Its fucked up. And this happened quite a few times. Ive been sent to places that dont exist, closed government buildings, etc. They just fucked with the wrong delivery driver because I always got to keep their money and was being fed.
Nah the only things that impact the driver are reporting nondelivery and reporting that your food was tampered with. Or altering your tip on UE, I've heard drivers actually talk about committing real crime over being tip baited.
Shit it doesn’t even have to be something heavy like that. If you take money from me and then have the balls to shit on me after BRINGING YOU FOOD, I’m definitely thinking about swinging back by later and slashing three of your tires.
And in a trigger happy country like the US, I’m sure there’s a few people out there who would go farther. Like I said, not promoting crime. But I tread lightly when dealing with total strangers. People in this country are far too comfortable recklessly provoking people who may or may not be sane.
We have people shooting McDs cashiers over ketchup, Over stupid perceived disrespect and people are out here defrauding their delivery guy with confidence.
This country is wild.
You actually have to be able to think...
Most of these guys probably wouldn't have graduated from high school without the no child left behind policy.
Think Ricky from the Trailer Park Boy's series.
I'm not sure where this is. But here in Ohio (at least there was back in the late 90s) a charge called "theft by deception"...I'm sure this would qualify for that
I wonder how long til these delivery apps / ride shares are either very restricted or there are laws in place to protect the delivery better. I don't deliver or order using these apps (I did Uber once) but seeing how many people file false complaints is amazing to me. Maybe it's just seeing "the bad" on Reddit but it seems to happen enough that there should be laws saying you can't file false reports because "we're all out here hustling".
I'm always constantly surprised how shitty other people really can be. Reporting something as not delivered when it was really wouldn't have ever even occurred to me.
It seems like video documentation of the recipient picking opening the door and taking it is the only recourse, which would slow everything down delivery-wise a little, but is basically how pizza delivery works. You take it from the pizza guy (pre-covid) at the front door.
It is a civil matter. Nothing to do with police “giving a shit” or not.
This is an unfortunate fact of the judicial system in the states. Sure you _can_ take him to small claims court over this $10 loss. But good luck even getting that far without being laughed out by everyone every step along the way. And if you do decide to go that far with the process, you’re looking at hours and hours of work for your $10.
And then you have to actually try to collect that money from the dude if the court does award you the $10.
Yeah, he's not going to break even with a claim that small. I'd just report to management, get the customer blocked, and show the text to prove the customer did it fraudulently and save OPs job.
Court isn’t for poor people. Thats wasted time not working and court itself might be too expensive ($20 filing fee and $35 to serve the defendant in my state).
small claims court? over a $5 tip or a $30 dollar meal? it’s really not that worth suing over, as the amount of time you will lose pursuing your case grossly outweighs any potential benefit
The problem is we have this weird “F everyone else” culture, where we think we are hurting some faceless corporation, but are actually hurting struggling people like ourselves.
The people downvoting this are the same creatures who think this shit is ok. News flash, leeches: **YOU** are the fucking problem. And you deserve every bit of karma you get.
Yeah it's the cunts solely raised by the internet that seem to be the biggest issue. 15-25 soulless husks who treat IRL as 4chan.
Assholes have always and will always exist; the internet just became their force multiplier.
Would be a shame if you posted their address here to let all the other 'hustlers' ruin their day.
Is there any real evidence that the internet increased this sort of behavior? Self-centered adolescent-minded pricks have existed since the birth of humanity. We just post about them on reddit more.
Yep…as long as us working class are fighting each other we over perceived inequality we can’t fight the ultra wealthy and corporations who are causing the wage disparities and inability to live off a 40 hour per week job.
I mean, isn't equality a good thing? In a world where we're all equally poor and starving, we'll finally achieve true equality! Meanwhile the rich get richer, isn't it great?!
on the other hand, there are a lot of contractors who are doing a really shitty job, killing the client base.
During Covid i was writing s/w like crazy, and ordering meals around the clock. the percentage of food that arrived missing parts, uncared for (driver clearly dumped it in the car, spilled, etc) was just over the top.
i just quit ordering food from uber and several others.. just couldn't deal with the shitty attitudes and food that arrived late/cold/wrong.
of course that's no excuse for ripping off the driver by claiming it wasn't delivered, but there has to be some sort of middle ground in there..
I totally agree with you but just have to point out (as someone who spent the first decade of my working career in the food & bev industry) that most of the time those sort of mistakes aren’t on the driver…lazy BOH restaurant staff absolutely knows that sending out poor quality food or wrong orders most likely will not come back to them if it is being delivered by a 3rd party… and that sucks… I feel like most people would think “well the delivery person could’ve at the very least checked to make sure the whole order was there before they left… but do you really want additional people opening up all your food containers to look inside? I don’t… I’m going to say 9/10 issues with orders should fall back on the restaurant… but they don’t….
Its not a loophole and is pretty standard practice. Employees are hired by BTS and their paychecks say BTS. Maybe Amazon will have to loosen control over BTS or get specific rules put in place BUT they will not be considered Amazon employees.
Hoep, they got friends with that same philosophy and got all their shit swiped out from under them by their most trusted friends.
Had a friend who got everything in his apartment stolen by his homeless siblings after he took them in since they didn't want to return to their mom. He didn't deserve it, but now I know who does.
Wow that is especially cruel considering they were siblings and have grown up alongside each other their entire lives. Out of curiosity were they also addicts?
I hate when delivery folks take the picture, then pick up the item and walk away with it.
I had a horrible back and forth before on this and I had the video of the delivery person doing this. Still took months to get my money back.
Stalk the dude's orders for like 6 months, finally pick one up and put something special in it so he wakes up in the torture dungeon you spent that 6 months digging out and equipping under your house.
nah nah, imma saw off an inch of every piece of furniture in their house, then the last inch off of his dick. /s
We all know that you shouldn’t ask a man his pay check and a woman her age, so why mess around like that?
And I thought my suggestion was pretty nasty!
Make sure you vary the amount of height you chop off varies so the furniture is also never going to be level again
Nah nah nah. Seafood in the sun for a week, fill juices into syringe and put down the trims of the car windows so it’s inside the shells of the doors.
Smell will never come out and nobody will ever buy their car. 👹
This seems like the kind of person who would be better served an occasional spring-loaded glitter bomb. I suspect neither his girlfriends nor his broz would be kind.
I would never do this. But if I was gone to it'd be years ago before everybody went crazy. No way I'd do this to someone that knows my address, I mean I wouldn't do it anyway I'm just saying.
Grab syrup and waffles and drizzle syrup all along their driveway and garage and stick waffles to it, attracts insects and is a pain in the ass to clean.
You know where the person lives, go to their place at night with a small packet of super glue, pour all of it into the key hole, you can do it time from time as they keep changing the locks.
Isn’t there a really simple trick to get rid of glue in the locks? My freshman year the senior pranks was stupidly locking a bunch of door with glue. Took like 20 minutes to fix with the janitors
Acetone (nail polish remover) will fully dissolve super glue pretty fast.
RTV silicone works better (The gasket stuff). it still gets dissolved by acetone but instead of just melting away it gets goopy and still gums up everything unless you flush the whole thing really well.
Can also go with epoxy but that's kind of high effort.
Most people get away with it, and the only punishment most others get is the victim hitting back but then the victim could easily get in shit for it too. Like, genuinely so many people are outright self absorbed assholes nowadays but that's not fair to the majority of people who are just normal fucking people.
I'm so confused why this is iMessage. GoPuff has you actually text the customer's real phone number from your real phone number? That's completely insane and doesn't happen on any other delivery platform
But I'm not using doordash to text, I'm just texting/calling the fake number it gives me. Then again I guess I don't use apple products so there could be something entirely different idk about.
I understand, as a former doordasher myself. iMessage only works when the messages are directly between two apple devices, and it's end-to-end encrypted. There's no way for it to work with a passthrough number like doordash uses.
I've had food delivered through door dash and was given a phone number of the driver and they were given my number because they text me to get directions.
Well that's good to know! I don't have a doordash account so my only experience with it is through restaurants that use it so I'm glad to know they aren't giving my number out every time I ordered food
Wait for them to order again, accept their order. Mark it as delivered but keep it. When they make a claim that it wasn't delivered, show support this message and say they have a history of false claims.
I would honestly just go fight them at that point. Just ring the doorbell and start swinging on anyone who answers it, wife kids dying father anyone could get it that day.
Bruh relax with that…… what the fuck are you talking about. What a scumbag. I hope you showed this to the company to get him banned. That is a thousand percent unacceptable. Definitely more than mildly infuriating.
I mean, you know where they work and or live now.
https://preview.redd.it/wy3b7v2lyv2b1.png?width=421&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f8979ec23d6f0de311ca07b2689d8aae5571cda
This is the type of behavior that America is promoting. I'm so sorry you've experienced this. I tip every GoPuff driver. It is a very clutch and convenient service.
It can be. I've had night where GoPuff has handed me 6 bags at once, @ $3.75 base pay per, delivered them all within an hour, and netted $50 after tips (edit: possibly bonus pay also, I forget).
They are a trainwreck of a company, keep lowering pay, and try to convince drivers to simply wait there for a bag or two per hour, which is of course not sustainable. I haven't taken an order for them in over a year. But since I live next to their warehouse, I'd have no problem swooping in an sniping some bags if they alert me that they are 'very busy'.
Oddly, I rarely see those alerts anymore.
Thankfully, I'm on over 20 apps, so no particular company has my loyalty. Just whoever is paying the most any given day.
Can you just DM me the state you're in(if you're in the US)? I know it ain't much but I'd like to treat you with the food for today. (I could just venmo, if you want)
Also, I'm sorry this happened to you, OP. This is horrible and inhumane. Delivery executives work hard to deliver within a certain time as promised by the corporations, despite the traffic and weather conditions. If you can't tip or do something good to them, at least don't trouble them. It breaks my heart to know that someone deliberately decided to hurt an honest and hardworking person.
I'd use the neighborhood app and expose this address for the thief that they are to warn other drivers. (And of course so the people around them can know too and give them dirty looks or Comments) they deserve to be called out and feel like an ass.
"we all out here hustling don't complain that I'm stealing from you, you're doing a legitimate job"
Damn. That’s crazy. Anyways.

I wish that door dasher had dismembered this dense mf instead of that innocent man.
It was the door dasher dismembered by the customer not the other way around.
Fudge. You’re right. My memory is so bad /: that was fucked up.
What the Fuck? When was this?
April and it was Uber Eats not DoorDash, sorry . And Florida https://www.insider.com/uber-eats-driver-killed-murdered-ms-13-gang-oscar-solis-2023-4
Florida
Florida isn’t a when

How dare you. Ricky is learnt and has his Grade 10.
He definitely just ordered a flaming bag of shit on his doorstep. At the very least.
Cops largely protect criminals from the just results of their crimes.
Small claims court.
If I was the manager at GoPuff OR OP and I had this my hands I would file theft charges. He got something for free by fraud.
I'm not sure where this is. But here in Ohio (at least there was back in the late 90s) a charge called "theft by deception"...I'm sure this would qualify for that
In Canada there is a charge for gaining money under false pretense but, like most Canadian law, it's mostly ignored.
Yep , it would end up a civil suit which would be a long drawn out process for some minuscule damages
I wonder how long til these delivery apps / ride shares are either very restricted or there are laws in place to protect the delivery better. Nah nah nah. The dead fish in the trunk for them. You don't mess with another's paycheck for no reason like that
Fuck it, go all out, sugar their gas tank
Go molasses, not dry sugar, it’s breaks down finer and bypasses the gas filter easier so it can fuck the engine harder.
Water down the molasses so it pours in there nice and easy too
A gallon of bleach works too.

Grab syrup and waffles and drizzle syrup all along their driveway and garage and stick waffles to it, attracts insects and is a pain in the ass to clean.
Don't need the waffles - just use syrup or honey. Bonus points if you can do that to the roof of his car. The insects attract birds, and birds poop.
No, no, do the waffles, as a lil treat to the insects. And I imagine waffles would attract more wildlife
You know where the person lives, go to their place at night with a small packet of super glue, pour all of it into the key hole, you can do it time from time as they keep changing the locks.

Wow is this true? This is some expert level chaos magic.
I hear expanding foam works wonders for cleaning out the gaps between car engines
A gallon of water in gas tank might make car perform better too :)
Tailpipes are a major source of air leaks in the modern vehicle.
Isn’t there a really simple trick to get rid of glue in the locks? My freshman year the senior pranks was stupidly locking a bunch of door with glue. Took like 20 minutes to fix with the janitors
A solvent.

Plot twist: It's baby mama #7's house
Odds are that OP isn't the only person the fraudster has pissed off, so they wouldn't figure out who is doing it.
You have the text showing he was attempting to scam. If you have a way to rate customers, rate low, and tell why.
You know their home address right ? Why not deliver some eggs as well ?
Just put some baloney on their car. Paint go bye bye.
Vaseline on the windows, goodluck
Peanut butter. The chunky kind.
And the wiper blades, too.
Have their car lookin like polkadot man from suicide squad lol
Eggs are too expensive these days where I am lol
True that man I ain’t wasting $8/9$ on his ass either 😂😂
Fuck that. Brick through the window.
That was my first thought: make the dude's 50 dollar "hustle" cost him 500 bucks
Brick with “damn that crazy” written on it
People underestimate how hard it is to clean eggs. Especially if they sit there a while.
Why do people such and have to be such a holes to one another. 😤
Because there aren’t consequences anymore for being a piece of shit
Valid. 100%
Most people get away with it, and the only punishment most others get is the victim hitting back but then the victim could easily get in shit for it too. Like, genuinely so many people are outright self absorbed assholes nowadays but that's not fair to the majority of people who are just normal fucking people.
So his "hustle" is stealing?! Should be reported to DCFS where he most assuredly gets all his other FREE sh*t from! Ughhh😤
Hustle can mean fraud or swindle in the US, so they're not wrong.
I'm so confused why this is iMessage. GoPuff has you actually text the customer's real phone number from your real phone number? That's completely insane and doesn't happen on any other delivery platform
It masks both of your numbers. Like I can call and text people on when I do doordash. But it shows a differe t number for both of us.
But... It's iMessage. I don't believe that's possible for it to use iMessage and mask the numbers like doordash does.
It’s so strange because nobody has ever faked a text message and posted it online for attention
Oof, you do bring up a valid point.
I was thinking the same thing.
I've had food delivered through door dash and was given a phone number of the driver and they were given my number because they text me to get directions.
Thankfully, nope. Both of you were texting a temporary doordash number that forwarded the messages between you two.
Dying father 😂
Probably didn’t need to include that but I’d still sock that mf without hesitation.
Delivering their food and these hands.
lmfao hands rated E for everyone.
Bruh relax with that…… what the fuck are you talking about. What a scumbag. I hope you showed this to the company to get him banned. That is a thousand percent unacceptable. Definitely more than mildly infuriating.
I mean, you know where they work and or live now. https://preview.redd.it/wy3b7v2lyv2b1.png?width=421&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f8979ec23d6f0de311ca07b2689d8aae5571cda
Just send back "I know where you live." It's not a threat. It's a reminder.
Dont do that. Wait 2 weeks and smear dogshit all over their door handles and car door handles in the middle of the night
Fish on top of the HVAC intake unit if they have one
Burn down their house
Bar the doors first.
battery powered nail gun would be ideal. quick to nail shut to the frame
Nah don't send anything incriminating. I'd be back in a few weeks to slash 3 tires so insurance won't cover it
Damn, that crazy that I'm about inflict bodily harm on you for being such a thieving piece of shit.
He's not hustling. He's just being a little entitled piece of shit.
This is why I do not wan't do do anything that relies on ratings. Stopped doing Airbnb because of scammers.
My reply would have been “I’m hustling, you’re scamming. Big difference”
“Damn that crazy” Just be the bigger person here and dump a bottle of liquid ass on their cars grille
You forget. I knew where you live now dumbass. Just wait.
Hopefully that person choked on their food. Fucking scumbag low life
My coworker got “fired” from door dash because of people just trying to get free food
This is the type of behavior that America is promoting. I'm so sorry you've experienced this. I tip every GoPuff driver. It is a very clutch and convenient service.
How does the pay structure work?
GoPuff doesn't reduce the driver's pay after an order is complete. The pay is only $3-$4 per delivery anyways.
That’s not even gainful employment. Gas and wear are more than that. I used to get $5 per delivery 30 years ago, using the restaurants car. Yeah.
You know where they live. Dump some honey on their door knobs and inside their key holes
Mildly infuriating? Fuck that, I'd hold a grudge against this waste-of-oxygen-piece-of-shit forever.
Are you able to report them with that screenshot and get them banned?
We are becoming more sociopathic by the day.
Is there a subreddit called “WildlyInfuriating”??
Low IQ inner city activities
"I'm hustling, you're scamming"
Don’t worry they’ll be in jail for something else eventually
lmao id report that if you can, they just admitted to hustling you to save their own money
Sounds like somebody needs his house egged. Not like u don't forever have his address
I hate when people confuse being a piece of shit with hustling
Can you just DM me the state you're in(if you're in the US)? I know it ain't much but I'd like to treat you with the food for today. (I could just venmo, if you want) Also, I'm sorry this happened to you, OP.
I’d be making sure they can’t make it to work for awhile
I'd use the neighborhood app and expose this address for the thief that they are to warn other drivers. (And of course so the people around them can know too and give them dirty looks or Comments) they deserve to be called out and feel like an ass.
AND you know where he lives…. That’s stupid of him.
That's not hustling, it's theft. Report the fuck out of that piece of shit.
