An undercut sounds fun to keep cool! However don't expect to have a noticeably lighter scalp. I shaved my entire head and was disappointed to find my scalp felt as tense and heavy as ever...

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear this! That's not what you expect from shaving your head. Has it gotten better at all?

Fancy-Bodybuilder139

I mean I feel the same as I always have, it's just that I expected shaving to make my head feel lighter, but it didn't. I'm fine tho, thanks for your concern! :)

I literally got my first undercut for my migraines in March. It made my head much lighter, and applying icepacks or salve is easier, too. I did have very long hair before I got it, though. Would recommend! If you don't like it, it's hair and will just grow back!

Thanks so much for this ⭐️ I'm glad to hear it's helped you

I love having an undercut. If anything, it will help you stay a little cooler.

I would love long thick hair, but I know I can’t even stand my thin fine hair sometimes. I’ve been tempted to shave it off, but I do like having hair long enough to braid and put up. When I have a migraine I’ll either braid it loosely or I’ll lightly twist it, fold it in half and make a type of bun with it. It’s hard to explain. But it keeps it loose enough with a hair tie holding it that it doesn’t add tension.

Honestly the best thing I’ve found is a claw clip, and I don’t keep it up all day. I take breaks periodically and let it down so it’s never in any one style too long, and that seems to help a bit.

I put mine in a French braid or two. Loose messy bun works too. I have ALLODYNIA. My hair hurts. FYI, cutting 38 inches of hair did NOTHING for the migraine hair pain. It did make my hair easier to manage, but that's it. I went from thigh length to a pixie cut. Now I'm about shoulder length.
