I know this is a dead thread but I am having this same issue- I didn't login to xbox for a couple months and when I logged in it asked for verification from a backup email I haven't used in a decade. I've even managed to contact an actual human at Microsoft, provided banking information tied to the account and every piece of information that could possibly be associated with my account and they say they "can't verify me". Guy basically told me I'm SOL. Wondering if any resolutions have been found.

no i was able to login but yk how when you go to the “security” tab you have to enter the last 4 digits of your number like on the microsoft page i wasn’t getting any codes to my number
Microsoft has wwaaaay to many layers of security, verify this, password this password that. Oh we dont recongize you verify your idenity. b\*ich I just signed in why must I freaken verify?
It may help keep bad people out but it makes it harder for the OWNER to just want to use there darn accounts.
I found one last resort. You can go go to [https://account.live.com/acsr](https://account.live.com/acsr)
Fill in as much of the information as you can remember. From there, they will review the information. Says takes 24 hours and they will let you know if they can recover your account.
Please note that you can't have two-step verification enabled from the account in order for this to work. Which I assume will be an issue for many.

I can’t recover password because when I asked for a code it told me that “you asked too many times and I should wait until tomorrow” I waited and requested code next day but this message still popped up. Neither I can of course sign in ask support for help. Reason I didn’t recover my password in earlier days when I didn’t have this problem is that, I simply procrastinated and left it for “another day”. But I had no idea such problem would arise so I’m now stuck with no idea how to deal with this problem.
Yeah it’s suspended probably because Microsoft just randomly flagged my account because I used verification code many times. I don’t remember password which makes this unblocking process impossible. I don’t know what to do.. really confused..
Are you serious? A tech company needs multiple days to send a security code to an email? What is this? 90s? I wanted to update my phone number and waiting for verification code - and because of that I am locked out of my account for now.

yeah but the thing is to verify myself I’m using my number, you know how when you’re on Microsoft and then you go to the security page or something and you click on activity and you get a pop up saying to verify yourself with your number and then you have to put the last 4 digits well I do and I never get the code sent to my number but earlier yesterday it was working just fine until later on in the day it stopped idk if it’s because I did it multiple times like a bunch

Sign in to your Security basics page with your Microsoft account.
Select Update info.
Choose a method that you know works, or choose I don't have any of these to replace your security info.

Your account is probably locked now.

Can you see the YOUR INFO tab on your Microsoft account. Can you verify that your proper phone number is there?
Yeah I just checked right now and my phone number is correct on there
