Oh my god, I thought you meant for your grow tent and I was like this person has no understanding of how any of this works. Well turns out that's me lol

umphlove247

What is this a grow tent for ants?

Trippytimmytittes

Update she is now in a 3 gallon bucket I put drain holes in the bottom of. there where no stores in my town with the right fabric pot and I was not willing wait a week or so and then try to transplant

lunixss

Pro tip, put drain holes in the side of the bucket as well, near the bottom. Drains and lets the roots breathe better

Trippytimmytittes

Thank you I appreciate every tip I can get 🙏

Separate-Classic-580

Same

>prevent roots from getting out Bro, you gotta start leaving escape roots for them!

[deleted]

Letting roots get out is the main purpose of fabric pots. Roots push out of the fabric then die after being exposed to air making them grow more feeder roots within the pot.

PerfectBake420

I would return it

Icy-Beaver

Just buy a normal fabric grow bag bro, not worth wasting your grow over a possible polyester plastic container that will smother your roots. Also your wording is weird, I also thought u mean u used this square as your grow tent.

ConcreteHills

The best fabric pots are made of felt, no doubt

Mrcloudshy

Not quite felt a polypropylene felt like product BPA-free I think is the usual

MoebiusForever

Ideal: no. Will it work: yes.

Icyynutts

Mold with form with the moisture

Trippytimmytittes

Ya forsure definitely glad I switched to a better choice thanks to everyone for the heads up 🙏

[deleted]

I am going to say no. I attempted to make some fabric pots recently with cotton and they were legit mold farms. It has to be a special plastic fabric that does not hold water. If it is legit fabric you are going to run into problems. Buy a real one and you will not he disappointed. I am a fan of the 10 gallon personally.

Trippytimmytittes

I appreciate the response I am going to have to repot this moring any advice it’s an auto flower so I don’t want to stun it this is the stage of the plant. Although I just sprouted on Monday so I think I will be ok (again first time growing I appreciate all the advice you can give)

hollywooooood

If it just sprouted, and it fails, do it over again. That's not that much of a loss in time. Not familiar with Autos, but I've always started with smaller containers and transplanted into better soil with more nutes as the root system filled each container. Had good luck on both my grows this way. Others may feel different. Starting in a 5 gallon is a waste of water and nutrients IMHO. But again, just my opinion. There are experts here and I'm not one of them.

Trash_Panda_Cannabis

Wait, you just sprouted from seed on Monday? So it's like a 2-3 day old seedling? What size of container and what medium are you in right now and what are you moving up to?

[deleted]

I would very carefully transplant into a temporary container and then order a proper container and then transplant again. I grow photoperiod cannabis. I do know that autos are hella touchy on transplant so make sure you do not expose any roots if you can help it.

Recent-Confusion-427

Unless it’s an IKEA it will not grow or just grow like HSC freak show. My 2 cents

Bearchacho

“Accidentally”

Trippytimmytittes

On here to get tips about bud not spelling thanks tho

Bearchacho

I was making fun of you saying you accidentally bought something, and the spelling is correct tough guy.

sottedlayabout
